Montreal, QC – January 23, 2024

Prog Collective LUNAR Confronts Personal Struggles in “Fall Back Into Old Habits” Lyric Video

ft. members Helion Prime, Beholder, Vis Mystica, Mokili Wa, Nordic Frost, Outloud, Double Vision

Fourth Studio Album “Tempora Mutantur” Out Jan 2025 via Saibot Reigns Records

Making Live Debut at Hyperspace Metal Festival 2025 (Vancouver, BC) – April 11th

Top 1st Row – Ryan Price – Bass, Alex Bosson – Drums
Middle 2nd Row – Connor McCray – Lead Guitar, Chandler Mogel – Clean Vocals
Bottom 3rd Row – Carlos Alvarez – Rhythm Guitar, Brian Lewis – Growl Vocals, Anthony Stahl – Keyboards

Sacramento, USA’s progressive metal visionaries LUNAR shares their new lyric video for “Fall Back Into Old Habits”, delivering a powerful exploration of personal patterns and emotional cycles. As the third preview of their upcoming concept album “Tempora Mutantur”, the track promises to be a visceral examination of human vulnerability, showcasing the band’s unique ability to transform personal struggles into universal musical experiences. Drummer Alex Bosson comments on the single:

“This is, I think, the longest, and maybe the “heaviest” song for Lunar thus far. Mostly features the growl vocals from Brian Lewis (although there is some of Chandler’s beautiful voice on here too). Lots of double basses, and multiple shreddy guitar solos (including one from Wildrun’s Wayne Ingram).”

Lyrically, “Fall Back Into Old Habits” deals with addiction, or anything we do that can give us temporary relief to help us get through rough moments, but ultimately have terrible long-term effects on ourselves. The 11-minute epic represents Lunar‘s commitment to creating music that is therapeutically honest and musically innovative.

“Fall Back Into Old Habits” continues Lunar’s tradition of creating progressive metal that challenges listeners to confront their inner landscapes. It is recommended for fans of Haken, Tool, and Porcupine Tree.

Watch and listen to the video for “Fall Back Into Old Habits” via its premiere on MetalAddicts HERE.

Founded by drummer Alex Bosson (Helion Prime, Planeswalker) and Ryan Erwin who passed away in 2018, LUNAR continues in his memory. This fourth full-length “Tempora Mutantur” follows 2023’s “The Illusionist” and features a fresh lineup with the addition of guitarists Carlos Alvarez and Connor McCray (Vis Mystica) along with keyboardist Anthony Stahl plus album guests Wayne Ingram (Wildrun), Joe Gullace (Thank You Scientist) and Sam Vallen (Caligula’s Horse).

A collaboration of musical minds, and with anything LUNAR does; “Tempora Mutantur” is an emotional thematic listening experience with ups and downs musically and lyrically dealing with the passing of time and the effects it has on us physically and mentally.

LUNAR’s “Tempora Mutantur” is due out on January 31, 2025, from Saibot Reigns Records.

“It’s really well done technically by a band that clearly cares about their music and can play.” – Rock The Joint Mag (The Illusionist 2023)

“If I had one word to describe this album, it would be this one: whirlwind… “The Illusionist” is an album that is living. From its jazzy highs to its heavy metal lows, this album is constantly on its toes, never repeating itself and never, ever growing complacent. A wonderful whirlwind indeed. 9/10” – Ever Metal

“I feel like Lunar has captured the balance between accessibility and technicality very well. I hear many of the same elements in their sound that, when employed well, make bands like Dream Theater, King Crimson, Voïvod and even Sigh so engaging. I love when an album comes out of nowhere (for me, anyway) and makes this much of an impression.” – The Metal Crypt

“As I said at the start, when I heard this album I was immediately grabbed by it. The story works nicely, it is very character based and features plenty of emotions which as a listener I certainly could relate to. The music is terrific with all the players putting in excellent performances and the instrumentation used in a clever way to match all that is going on with the lead character. There are moments of heavy prog as well as metal, but melody runs through the heart of it. The fact that some of the people in the band have never met or even been in the same room together is remarkable as it sounds like everyone was on the same hymn sheet and it doesn’t sound pieced together. That is a great credit to the writing, arranging as well as all the musicians doing their parts to the benefit of the whole piece. An absolutely delightful as well as enjoyable album.” – CGCM Rock Radio

“The concept is that there are songs that are angry, songs that are confused, songs that are depressing, and everywhere in between. Styles on the album run the gambit from Progressive Metal with melodic vocals, to moments of Jazz, to cookie monster Thrash…. The musicianship is solid on all of the parts, with some excellent performances, notably vocalist Chandler Mogel… it does warrant checking out for Prog-Metal fans that like a mix of growler and melodic vocals.” – Metal Express Radio

“The Illusionist again is at the highest level of the progsphere, Bosson’s continuation of the Lunar name, honouring his co-founder and friend, through the medium of progressive metal, is an advantageous endeavour. 9/10” – Musipedia of Metal

0 FEN’s Doug Harrison Unveils New Single for Solo Project SLUG COMPARISON – Fuzzy And Upbeat Get Ready To “March Through The Forest”

FEN’s Doug Harrison Unveils New Single for Solo Project SLUG COMPARISON – Fuzzy And Upbeat Get Ready To “March Through The Forest”

Doug Harrison (Slug Comparison) – Photo Credit: Bailey Ennig

Rising from the creative depths of FEN‘s vocalist and guitarist Doug Harrison, Slug Comparison launches its fuzzy and upbeat new single “March Through the Forest”. Emerging from an unconventional creative process, the track marks a bold departure from previous acoustic-driven sounds into a more aggressive, electric-driven aesthetic. Harrison explains the background to the track:

“This song came after a hike with a friend in the North Shore mountains of Vancouver. The day started off damp and cold. As we climbed, it began to snow, a dusting at first, but it cast this beautiful veil over the ground wherever the trees opened up into a clearing. We kept going, and it was a whiteout by the time we finally reached the summit. Then we stood there at the edge of these sheer granite cliffs that we couldn’t see below us, and ravens wove in and out of the clouds, disappearing and reappearing. “March Through the Forest” is an account of that day, which was a good one.”

Fans of Harrison‘s work with FEN will recognize his signature approach to songwriting—a fluid blend of grunge, progressive rock, indie, and metal influences. “March Through the Forest” showcases his ability to push musical boundaries while maintaining an authentic creative voice.

The track is part of Slug Comparison’s upcoming musical offerings for 2025, signaling an exciting new chapter for the project. Doug Harrison produced the single with mixing done by Ben Kaplan (Biffy Clyro, Bend Sinister, Ninjaspy, Mother Mother, Corb Lund) and mastered by Brock McFarlane at CPS Mastering (Mother Mother, Corb Lund.

While the current sound leans into more upfront, riff-heavy rock, Harrison assures fans that future releases will continue to explore the moody, acoustic-based territories that defined his earlier work. “March Through the Forest” is recommended for fans of Mother Mother, The Killers, and Rush.

Canada’s MARBLE GHOSTS Unleash “Distance Between” A Blistering Anthem For Divided Times

Sophomore EP “The Greatest Divide” Out May 2025

Photographer Credit – Lisa Thompson (Dark Moon Productions)

Marble Ghosts, the Canadian boundary-pushing ensemble known for their distinctive blend of metal, grunge, and punk influences, has announced their highly anticipated second EP “The Greatest Divide” set for release in May 2025. The band comments on the first, explosive single “Distance Between”:

“From the opening lyric of the EP, “Here we are in the greatest divide”, the songs explore the ever-growing rift between almost every part of modern-day society. From the rich and the shrinking middle class to widening gaps in political and religious ideologies, the EP was inspired by our reality.”

Musically, the single shows off its punk-metal roots, never relenting from beginning to end. The biting rapid-fire verses meet the band’s characteristic soaring choruses. The band shows off its guitar chops with a blistering solo that perfectly matches the song’s energy. The song crescendos with another feverish solo over top desperate screams.

The EP and the single are recommended for fans of Alter Bridge, Shinedown, and Saint Asonia.

“Their sound is a unique blend of soft underscoring elements and heavy riffs.” – Decibel Magazine

“When a band is said to be for fans of Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace, this puts a lot of pressure on that band to live up to expectations, especially those of lifelong fan of all of those acts. However, Canadian’s Marble Ghosts have produced quite an exciting debut EP that’s made up of a mix of metal genres from metalcore and grunge to death metal. ‘Lie To Me’ has a heavy bass line intro before thick guitar riffs join in. This intensity is matched by the vocals, which seem to be drenched in emotion and this is what makes it a real must listen on the EP. Whilst the lyrics themselves don’t vary much, they don’t need to, because it feels like this track is about putting across a certain atmosphere rather than writing an epic tale. The band do delve into the political in ‘False Heroes’, where they question outdated thinking with such lines as “boys will be boys, all the while accompanied by an unsettling melody in a minor key. They use their own country’s history to influence this song, which the EP artwork and the band’s name are all linking together. 8/10” Powerplay Magazine UK

“End Of The World completes the EP and no lie instantly had us drooling with its air of nagging menace veined by swarthy guitar lures and a tension of creative distraction, an imposing coaxing soon evolving into a full incitement of animated temptation and keen adventure. Grabbing favourite track honours in its greedy fists, the song prowled like a predator and roared with punk dissidence, aligning both to melodic and sonic drama.” – Ring Master Reviews

“Now we have reached our last mention, my number one recommendation for this week’s list of incredible new music from this website of ours. They have recently just emerged on the metal scene with a distinctive sound. I am talking about the Ottawa-based band Marble Ghosts. Unveiling their self-titled EP, showcasing five compelling songs that you can hear across all streaming platforms now.” – ZACH’S PICKS OF THE WEEK – MARCH 4 TO MARCH 9, 2024 – #1 Marble Ghosts – Canadian Beats

“Marble Ghosts deliver a visceral finale with “End of the World.” Reflecting a generation’s disillusionment with the idea of meaningful change and the realisation that their actions may have little impact, the song captures the band’s uncompromising attitude with distinct vocals and a cacophony of heavy and glorious sound. Marble Ghosts, the band and EP, defies hard rock stereotypes and delivers music that reminds us that it’s not all sex drugs and rock-n-roll, but sometimes it’s get up, stand up, rise up, and make the difference you seek.” – Amplify The Noise

“This band is ultra-impressive with razor sharp hard rock, soaring vocals and superior song writing that really makes one stop and take notice of their greatness.” – WJOE- Findlay’s Home for Rock and Roll

“C’est propre et même chiadé, peut être un peu trop à mon goût : il ne faut pas chercher ici un hard rock écrit au feeling la clope au bec et la bière, désaltérant plus qu’il ne faut ses auteurs ! On est sur une musique qui tient plus de groupes comme Breaking Benjamin ou encore Three Days Grace qu’autre chose.” – SoilChronicles

“Fans of 2000’s era hard rock, especially those who were listening to that music during the time period itself, will get the most out of Marble Ghosts’ self-titled debut EP. It’s not impossible to imagine a scenario where Breaking Benjamin, hot off the release of We Are Not Alone, would take this group out as an opening act. Same goes for someone like Alter Bridge when One Day Remains exploded off the success of single “Open Your Eyes.” – Heavy Music HQ

0 “Watch The Weather Change” The New Music Video From Progressive Collective LUNAR (ft. members from Helion Prime, Beholder, Mokili Wa) Off Fourth Studio Album “Tempora Mutantur” Out Jan 2025

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – November 22, 2024

“Watch The Weather Change” The New Music Video From Progressive Collective LUNAR

ft. members Helion Prime, Beholder, Vis Mystica, Mokili Wa, Nordic Frost, Outloud, Double Vision

Fourth Studio Album “Tempora Mutantur” Out Jan 2025 via Saibot Reigns Records

Making Live Debut at Hyperspace Metal Festival 2025 (Vancouver, BC) – April 11th

Top 1st Row – Ryan Price – Bass, Alex Bosson – Drums
Middle 2nd Row – Connor McCray – Lead Guitar, Chandler Mogel – Clean Vocals
Bottom 3rd Row – Carlos Alvarez – Rhythm Guitar, Brian Lewis – Growl Vocals, Anthony Stahl – Keyboards

Progressive collective LUNAR, founded by drummer Alex Bosson (Helion Prime, Planeswalker) and Ryan Erwin who passed in 2018 and continues in his memory to present their fourth full-length “Tempora Mutantur” to follow 2023’s “The Illusionist”.

For this new record, there’s a fresh lineup to change it up from their previous one with the addition of guitarists Carlos Alvarez and Connor McCray (Vis Mystica) along with keyboardist Anthony Stahl plus album guests Wayne Ingram (Wildrun), Joe Gullace (Thank You Scientist) and Sam Vallen (Caligula’s Horse).

A collaboration of musical minds, and with anything LUNAR does; “Tempora Mutantur” is an emotional thematic listening experience with lots of ups and downs musically and lyrically dealing with the passing of time and the effects it has on us physically and mentally.

Originally the album was to be a 4 track EP with seasonal concepts, but as the cooperative wrote more and more, they decided they wanted it to be more and have some general passing of time themes as well, so they pushed forward with a full album experience.

“This album deals with something everyone can relate to and no one can escape: the passing of time. We get older, our perspective changes, and we gain some things, and lose others… sometimes the things and ones we love. And we struggle and fight along the way. This album deals with some of the highs and lows we deal with along this journey we all share. Hopefully, the fans will be able to resonate with it and find some solace and aid in their own experiences of time passing. I believe the songwriting has gotten stronger over the years. I think the songs are a bit more well-structured. But I think the overall sound of the band has remained pretty consistent over the years. The music is very “prog,” so it’s been diverse I think from day 1. Probably even more so now than it was at first.” adds Bosson.

Today, LUNAR presents its first single “Watch The Weather Change” accompanied by a music video. The closing track of the album speaks of dealing with denial and mental vacancy.

“While this is technically the last of a 3 part song on the album, I felt this song encapsulates the feeling of the album best. It has some wonderful shreddy sections on each instrument, a simpler structure with a mix of heavy elements of growl vocals, and a good catchy chorus. This was the first time we’ve ever been able to shoot an actual band footage music video overlooking a beautiful Los Angeles skyline. We shot this footage almost a year ago and I’m excited to get to share it with the world!” adds Bosson.

0 Moving Onto Their Next Horizon Toronto Prog JUPITER HOLLOW Unveil New Single / Video “Incivility”

Montreal, QC – November 22, 2024

Moving Onto Their Next Horizon Toronto Prog JUPITER HOLLOW Unveil New Single / Video “Incivility”

L-R – Nathaniel Reynolds-Welsh – Drums – Grant MacKenzie – Guitar, Kenny Parry – Vocals, John-Ryan Godfrey – Bass

Pushing from one horizon onto the next, Toronto, Canada’s Jupiter Hollow‘s growth has come a long way since making their debut as a duo in 2015. Led by the fearless Grant MacKenzie and Kenny Parry, this recording and songwriting powerhouse duo has transformed into a live quartet with the addition of John Ryan Godfrey (Bass) and Nathaniel Reynolds-Welsh (Drums).

Advancing their unique brand of progressive rock/metal, the band is presenting their latest single “Incivility” accompanied by a music video to close out their new music releases for 2024. “Incivility” serves as a bold statement, reflecting the band’s evolution both sonically and thematically. With its intricate arrangements, evocative lyrics, and captivating visuals, the single is a testament to the band’s relentless dedication to pushing artistic boundaries.

The band comments on the single:

“At its core, Incivility reflects humanity’s inner struggles, the relentless pursuit of purpose, and the emotional void created by modern distractions. The lyrics delve into themes of arrogance, wasted time, and the consequences of superficial existence, symbolized by “filming your bones”—a critique of documenting life rather than living it.

The song wrestles with the tension between ambition and the emptiness of unmet expectations, asking hard questions: At what cost do we chase our dreams? and How do we reconcile purpose with the pressures we hide? The recurring imagery of the “yawning cage of wasted love” evokes a profound sense of entrapment, urging listeners to confront the emotional weight of past mistakes while seeking true fulfillment.

Musically and lyrically, Incivility challenges listeners to reflect on their lives, embracing the discomfort of self-awareness while pushing forward with resilience. It’s both a cautionary tale and a call to action—demanding authenticity in a world that often values the opposite.”

With thought-provoking lyrics, unique vocal melodies, harmonies, powerful guitar riffs, unyielded songwriting, and Jupiter Hollow’s incessant desire to bring fans on a journey, there’s always something new to explore. Thus far they have two full-length albums under their belts: 2020’s “Bereavement”, and 2018’s “AHDOMN”, and they have another one in the works. Planning to release singles over the coming months, Jupiter Hollow will take the time to ensure a polished, impressive offerings song by song. The band wants nothing more than to make their art and share the experience with as many people as they can. Recommended for fans of Porcupine Tree, Coheed, and Cambria, Rush, and Protest The Hero.

“If Jupiter Hollow are emblematic of the next generation of progressive metal bands, a bright tomorrow lies ahead. Hugely impressive.” – Prog Magazine.

“Comparisons to bands like Tool, Live, A Perfect Circle and Nine Inch Nails come easy and for good reason. This is the new generation of players who are putting their spin on all things progressive, industrial and synthy. The grandsons of Genesis and Yes, this is progressive rock for the youth of today who find the originators a bit to baroque for their tastes… Their sound is built to appeal to fans of so many genres and preferences it should be a slam dunk.” – Skulls n’ Bones

“JUPITER HOLLOW just produced the best prog metal album of all time this year, condensing, mixing and forging a hot musical steel here.” – Prog Archives

“Each track displays plenty of musicianship from this young duo, with vocals continuing to strengthen and songwriting solidifying.” – Heavy Music Headquarters

“A young Canadian duo ready to bring fans of complex music a spacey, experimental and refreshing experience… bursting with high-quality heaviness and progressiveness.” – The Headbanging Moose

Breaking out with their self-titled debut EP in 2018, San Diego, USA’s Eddie and Seb Vazquez brother duo that makes Tzimani are excited to unveil their first full-length album entitled “I Feel Fine”, now available as of November 15th on Glory or Death Records (Vinyl) and Noize Cartel (Digital).

“This album has been a trial of our toughest mental and emotional challenges to not only complete but to release into the ether as it took us over two years to complete from the time we first recorded drums back in August 2022 to when we finally had masters in hand in June of 2024. In a lot of ways, this album represents an emotional rebirth of the band with efforts to take on the world in the metal scene after a protracted period of relative inactivity dating back to mid-2019 after we wrapped up our touring to promote the 2018 EP.

We plan on rebuilding the momentum that was lost during the pandemic years and hitting the ground with a renewed vigor and sense of excitement to bring our live performance to places we have not been to and recapture the support of all the fans we left hanging over the last five years to let them know that we are back! We are ready to reclaim the title as the fearless gruesome twosome in the music sphere and we could not be more thrilled to be working with Buddy and Ygor and the Glory or Death Records label and having them allow us to try to transcend our music and reach the broadest audience.” adds Sebastien Vazquez.

Picking up right where the 2018 EP dropped off, Tzimani‘s album “I Feel Fine” features the same elements of catchy hooks, clean rhythms, and dynamic vocal lines. However, there are bits of deviation when it comes to injecting new elements. Fans will hear an added synthesizer for some of the tracks, an exploration into AOR rock, and some expressions of today’s modern music scene for this collection of eight songs of their finest hour adds.\

Sebastien Vazquez explains further:

“You know those albums that you listen to over and over again and you just know when the first song hits your sense of familiarity, nostalgia, warmth, and comfort? That is what we are trying to encapsulate. The album is straightforward heavy metal mixed with modern elements with a dash of AOR and we feel it is the best representation to show everyone what we are capable of. We are also trying to represent the future of the band and give everyone an entry into some of the larger questions that we struggle with and how we choose to represent that with our songwriting. We are not the type of band that is capable of singing about stories, dragons, and swords, but we excel at writing tunes that people can genuinely relate to and connect with.”

Tzimani is recommended for fans of Van Halen, Haunt, Striker, Traveler, Skull Fist, and Cauldron.

About: Formed in 2017, Tzimani hit the ground running with their debut demo and a relentless West Coast and Southwest tour, winning over fans with electrifying performances in cities like Portland, Seattle, and Texas. Their 2018 self-titled EP, released via Noize Cartel Records, became a launching pad that propelled them into the national spotlight. With over 100 shows across North America and standout appearances at major festivals, the band quickly built a reputation as a live act not to be missed.

Drawing from legendary influences like Iron Maiden, Van Halen, and Mötley Crüe, Tzimani’s music is a bold fusion of melodic AOR and the raw power of old-school heavy metal. With twin-guitar leads, soaring solos, and thunderous drumming, their sound is equal parts grit and glory. Eddie’s vocals, reminiscent of Dio, along with his fierce guitar work, channel the spirit of classic rock while still pushing forward into new sonic territory.

After their 2020 expanded re-release of the EP, Tzimani faced an unexpected pause as the world shut down. But through the stillness, the brothers’ creativity simmered, building anticipation for their next big move. Now, with their first full-length “I Feel Fine” (Out Nov 2024), they’re stepping into uncharted territory by incorporating synthesizers to deepen their sound, adding a dynamic, atmospheric layer that brings new emotion and energy to their music.

Tzimani’s partnership with Glory or Death Records marks the beginning of a fresh journey. With their signature blend of melody and muscle, the band is primed to reach a broader audience and reignite their momentum on stages across the country. The stage is set, the wheels are turning again, and Tzimani is ready to reclaim their place as a force in the rock and metal scene.

“the blistering new single “Haunting” from metal duo Tzimani! Driving speed riffs, AOR keys, breakout solos and soaring vocals make “Haunting” a very cool track.” – WJOE – Findlay’s Home for Rock & Roll

“At full throttle (opening track We Stand And Fight, for instance) they’ll take you right back to the glory days of names like The Rods, or any of those classic US power metal names of the early eighties, but the key to Tzimani’s appeal is their ability to add huge doses of melody to the muscle; When they get this right, as they do on Hold On and Empty, the sound they create – like the Adrian Smith-penned Iron Maiden classics of the mid eighties – is hard to resist… This really is top notch stuff, and I can’t recommend it highly enough if you like proper, old school heavy metal like it used to be made.” – Sentinel Daily

“I Feel Fine is a ….hmm.. fine collection of classic heavy metal songs, with enough energy and punch to make you hit the replay button” – Velvet Thunder

“Typically, when promo proclaims that a band represents a “bold new take” on a traditional, well-trod style, you can expect the same: yet another forgettable “revitalization” of a sound and aesthetic that has been done to death, reanimated, and then slaughtered by copycats once more. In the case of Tzimani, the status quo is effectively put in its place.” – Sleeping Village

“Electrifying pace sets ‘We Are The Ones’ on fire, hurtling along at full velocity, displaying all the hallmarks associated with the “foot on the monitor” style of traditional heavy metal. Hitting hard like an out of control wrecking ball” – Frenzy Fire / Metal Gods TV

” refreshing heavy rock 8/10″ – SoundMagnet (German)

” This two piece hailing from San Diego shredded their way through their set. Straight up heavy metal brothers rocking their way across North America. Eddie can really play the guitar. Each song they played were full of mean riffs and ripping solos.” – Metal As Medicine (Live Review – 2019 – Kelowna, BC)

” They surprised us all when vocalist/guitarist Eddie Vazquez announced that they were the only other band on the bill. It was their best time to shine. Kudos to you Vazquez brothers!… Tzimani set up shop, and made that stage their biatch! Soon enough they began playing songs that were not included in their demo such as “Overdrive,” and dished out their hits “Final Hour” and “Get Me Out Of Here” which are available on their demo. These bros emitted a tremendous confidence and were still glowing from their recent inaugural American tour.” – Ugh Metal (Live Review – 2017 – San Diego, CA)

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – November 14, 2024

HELLFIRE 76 New Video “Rags to Rage” Is A Rip Roaring Rock Title Track Off New Album Out End of Nov 2024

North Carolina, USA’s, Southern Metal duo Hellfire 76 has just dropped their rippin’ new video for single “Rags to Rage” the title track from their upcoming first full-length, which hits speakers on November 29th. The song showcases the band’s signature combination of fuzzed-out grooves and occult-themed storytelling, drawing from founding member Von Bury’s New Orleans roots. The band comments on the single:

“Musically, it’s fast and aggressive; lyrically, it’s pretty much an “action/reaction” lyric- each to its own interpretation. Simply put, we wanted a song that kicked down the door right from the start. It’s full of fast grooves with rapid-fire lyrics.”

The two-piece outfit, featuring Von Bury (guitar/bass/organ/vocals) (formerly of the Southern Gothic act LOVESUCKER and the Occult Rock act and Napalm Recording artist BLOODY HAMMERS) and Mike McGuiness (drums) (formerly of the Industrial Metal act FACE THE WORLD), delivers a massive wall of sound that belies their minimal lineup. Recorded in a single take, “Rags to Rage” demonstrates the raw power and precision that has earned Hellfire 76 recognition as one of the heaviest two-piece acts in the local scene.

Looking to branch out further, the act challenges metal and rock fans to indulge with their new music video, which can be seen and heard via its premiere on GhostCultMagazine HERE.

All killer-no filler, this two-piece brings 110% to their album “Rags To Rage”. The overall theme of this record is dark, taboo, spooky, tongue-in-cheek, fuzzed-out southern metal. Von Bury explains further:

“The album RAGS TO RAGE is a continuation of our first release, in that the subject matter is all thought-provoking. As for a lot of music, we want the lyrics to be literal but also open to the listener’s interpretation. Sticking with the theme and ideas of Voodoo, Witchcraft, The Occult, and other oddities. We want to take the listeners on a dark and ominous journey into a place they don’t normally think about.”

For fans of Melvins, Clutch, Killing Joke, and Fu Manchu, “Rags To Rage” is available for album pre-order at https://hellfire76.bandcamp.com.

“Dark, mysterious, foreboding, yet strangely inviting. This is the latest single (The Omen) from HELLFIRE ‘76, a band that brings together the things you love about heavy music: bold, swinging riffs, gruff manic vocals, crunchy chugging rhythms. “The Omen” has got it all going on, which lyrically “is about how religion uses fear to prey on weak minds to do the dirty work.” – Doomed and Stoned

“Drink the concoction prepared by the band, a cocktail of blood riffs, genuine rhythms and distorted vocals that you can find in the dirtiest pubs in New Orleans! Fans of Kyuss, ZZ Top, Killing Joke, The Melvins and Clutch will be thrilled!” – Heavy Mag

“In the radius of bituminous rhythms, nevertheless animated by a Rock energy, we frankly opt more for cousinage with CLUTCH, a formation that has always been able to evolve between thickness, melody and conciseness. With, as a bonus, these hints of greasy and oily Blues which inject a kind of groove and sap within a Metal which should not silence or ignore its affinities with the severe and groovy Metal proper to Pantera.” – Integral Metal

“Hellfire 76 comes at you hard and heavy and without mercy.” – Doomed Nation

“Hellfire 76, A duo devoted to rampaging Stoner-Doom-Psych-Metal, which swings to dense blues licks that suggest a Triceratops mating with a Sherman Tank!” – Q C Nerve

The Hellfire 76 use the masks of voodoo, witchcraft, the occult and tarot cards to tell us stories of how Evil has taken over our world, ruled by liars, impostors and careerists. People are flooded with a river of lies, perpetrated by governments and the Church, which obscure our view of the Truth.” – Progressive Rock Journal

The track amps up to 100mph for a swift kick in your ass to get your blood pumping. The song is featured on the band’s recently released self-titled debut album, which ranges from straight-up rock to doomy stoner riffs to creative solos, and relatable lyrics. Not held back by the structure of a certain genre, Gigantum has a lot of room to evolve and they set into that role with gusto.

“Each song tells its own story and takes you someplace different. They have their own personality. The record’s listening experience takes you on a journey. We are trying to shake the foundation and rattle the windows.” adds the band.

Gigantum‘s debut album is a true collaboration, and each track offers a distinct experience, taking listeners on a sonic journey as they explore each individual personal of the tracks. “It’s wide ranging heavy music odyssey that spans six hefty heavy rock tracks on ‘Gigantum’ (2024)” – Doomed & Stoned

“Gigantum have released a no-hold barred “NO FUCKS GIVEN” attitude that will no doubt strike a chord with the jaded Doom/Stoner Metal fan currently out there. Excellent and Highly Recommended.” – Outlaws of the Sun

“With a flair for the dramatic, Gigantum has a no-nonsense approach to writing and riffing, yet remains free of pretension that fouls up a lot of modern bands with retro influences. This is only the beginning for this band! Jam out Gigantum to 11 and burn one right now!” – Ghost Cult Magazine

“Gigantum’ is an impressive debut that showcases the band’s ability to traverse different musical territories while maintaining a cohesive and powerful sound. With each track telling its own story, GIGANTUM crafts a listening experience that is both diverse and deeply rooted in heavy rock tradition. This album is a must-listen for fans of bands like Black Sabbath, Clutch, and Fu Manchu who crave a mix of crushing riffs, heavy grooves, and dynamic vocals.8.5/10” – Infrared Magazine

“If you can imagine a slightly more psychedelic variety of classic era Black Sabbath that has been given a little bit of a punk attitude and expression then you should have a fair general idea of what to expect from this album. An album I suspect quite a few who tend to enjoy vintage era doom metal might find to be an interesting experience.” – Viking in the Wilderness

“That sort of plot is perfect for a stoner jam like “Necron99,” the closer to their self-titled debut album. There’s a good deal of jamming going on in this album” – Heavy Music HQ

“the group from Los Angeles chooses many unconventional methods and also reveals exciting things here.” – PowerMetal.de

“All experienced musicians, this is the work of a fully-fledged group that is ready for anything.

But as for “Monkey King,” for all its doom-laden, Sabbath jamming on Fu Manchu chic, it’s a band that will do things on its own terms. Mia X is capable of whipping up a frenzy, and “For All My Friends” has something truly unsettling about it. If the album as a whole feels like heavy psych and melody are engaged in a battle to the death, then never is that better shown than on the fabulous “Forever Dreaming.”… with this self-titled statement, Gigantum are laying down a big marker. 8/10″ – Maximum Volume Music

” an energetic hard rock record with a couple of very good doom songs. Recommended.” – Flying Fiddle Sticks

0 Out Now! CHAIN CODE’s Spacey, Progressive Debut Album “Synthetic Outcomes”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – October 1, 2024

Out Now! CHAIN CODE’s Spacey, Progressive Debut Album “Synthetic Outcomes”

“Synthetic Outcomes” Out Oct 1st, 2024

Chain Code, the progressive rock project from Milwaukee, USA, is now officially reeling their debut album, “Synthetic Outcomes”, which will hurtle listeners through time and space as they go on a sonic journey through a dystopian future where technology has overtaken humanity, blending complex melodies, dissonant chords, and thought-provoking lyrics into a cohesive and immersive experience. Mastermind MuRphry shares his thoughts on the album:

“I am pleased to finally unleash this labor of love. I started this project in 2022 and manically wrote two albums, fixated on creating paranoid yet beautiful progressive rock to express my enjoyment of dystopian science fiction that sees humanity losing its very essence to machines. The initial point musically was to have Adrian Belew join Voivod in my bizarro musical mind. I encourage any weirdo to put on a set of headphones and take a trip to our future with the chaotic elegance that is Chain Code!”

Each track on the concept album offers a unique perspective on the overarching theme of the consequences of humanity’s overreliance on technology. From the frantic energy of the opening track “Human(kind of)” to the haunting beauty of “In Line” Chain Code masterfully balances chaos and harmony, creating a sound that is both challenging and rewarding.

“Synthetic Outcomes” invites listeners to immerse themselves in a world where technology has the upper hand, but the future is still uncertain. It is recommended for fans of progressive rock, sci-fi themes, King Crimson, and Talking Heads.

9. In Line (8:00)

“the new track (In Line) is a bold musical statement with one foot in modern progressive technical musical prowess, but with eye on the class and lyricism of the distant past greats of the genre.” – Ghost Cult Magazine

“Progressive rock fans, get ready to be captivated by the latest offering from Chain Code, a unique and complex solo project led by the enigmatic MuRphry who channels his love for prog rock and sci-fi into a potent sonic experience… ‘A New Face’ is a short, yet windy, frantic, and complex song that is as unpredictable as it is catchy.” – The ProgSpace

“If System of the Down and Primus had a child, that child would sound like the debut single “A New Face” from Chain Code… With a unique blend of melody, dissonance, and intricately stringed arrangements, Chain Code is set to spin progressive rock on its head not only with their debut single but also with their debut album Synthetic Outcomes” – Amplify The Noise

“As debut albums come, Synthetic Outcomes is quite exceptional… Keep an eye open for this captivating artist, and beware of our computer overlords that are just around the corner waiting to take over for good.” – Disagreemeent.nl

“US band Chain Code are out with the album “Synthetic Outcomes”, and progressive metal is the style explored on this production. That being said, a lot of the heart and the soul of this band appears to revolve around aesthetics from the 1970s, and then from more expressive bands from the progressive rock tradition back then. With plenty of references to King Crimson, possibly also Gentle Giant, and if you know about a band from that era that played around with avantgarde tendencies and whimsical attitudes there’s a good chance that you’ll encounter references in that line too. With a bit of a theatrical display in the vocals department to boot, and some of the flamboyant aspects from the symphonic progressive rock tradition added as a bit of a subtle seasoning. But the band have chosen to explore those landscapes in a metal guise. An understated one at that, but still with metal rather than prog as the expression and orientation of choice. An album to seek out if the idea of exploring expressive 1970s progressive rock in a metal guise strikes you as an appealing proposition.” – Progressor

0 Halifax’s TURBO Shares Heartbreak Anthem “No Savior” Off Upcoming NWOTHM Album “Broke And Ugly” Out July 2024

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 28, 2024

Halifax’s TURBO Shares Heartbreak Anthem “No Savior”

New NWOTHM Album “Broke And Ugly” Out July 2024

Set to release their high-octane NWOTHM album “Broke & Ugly” this coming July 12th, Halifax, Canada’s moshpit instigators TURBO are sharing the next single and heartbreak anthem “No Savior”. The track was written by drummer Sylvain Coderre and vocalist/guitarist Evan Frizzle while both were going through nasty breakups.

“The lyrics talk about that, and issue a warning of sorts to future ladyfriends: “I ain’t no savior, I’ll burn here forever”. It is definitely one of the album’s standout anthems.” adds the band.

Listen to “No Savior” at https://youtu.be/suUkogNN5uo

Fast, heavy, and raw, Turbo’s highly anticipated second album “Broke and Ugly” takes the signature sound that they cultivated on their debut album “Fast As Fvck” and sees the quartet fine-tune it along with throwing in some peppering and experimentation into the songs, it’s certainly no rehash, fans of the first album’s sound will certainly rejoice.

“Broke and Ugly” is Turbo‘s second testament to the ups and downs of the rock-and-roll lifestyle, and it comes in swingin’ HARD. The music is raw, greasy, and mean; but it’s also tight, coordinated, and flashy. The lyrics are defiant and visceral, painting a real picture of where vocalist Evan Frizzle’s mind was during the writing process of the album. Themes go from party anthems to drugs, to women of flings-past, to life on the road, and back again. It’s edgy, it’s real, and it’s undeniably Turbo.

The band adds:

“It’s an absolute slaughter in 7-tracks, sure to scratch an old-school itch you didn’t realize was there. Like your disheveled uncle on Christmas morning, Turbo is STILL trashed, pissed off, and sick of your shit. Get yourself a grimy slab of Thrash, add a good pinch of NWOBHM catchiness, and throw it on the burner. Mix in some spicy glam metal and sleaze rock into a bowl with a large helping of punk rock and hardcore. Drizzle that over what you have on the burner, and garnish with a singer determined to turn his voice into sand whose lifestyle and worldview will make you worry for him, and you have the recipe for Turbo’s distinct flavor.”

The artwork for “Broke and Ugly” was done by the band’s primary artist and good friend, Tim Murray. It depicts a dive-bar nightmare bathroom that has been – to put it diplomatically – well-loved. It has a few little Easter eggs from other songs from the band peppered through it, and a green hand grabbing for some shit tickets from a busted-ass urinal that belongs to the velociraptor featured in the album art from their first record, “Fast As Fvck”.”

Embodying the full-speed-ahead attitude that defines Turbo, they are recommended for fans of W.A.S.P., Motorhead, and Judas Priest.
