New York, USA’s FROGG are ready to descend an “Eclipse” of technical modern metal with their debut album out on March 7th, 2025. A long time in waiting, this first full-length features ten tracks of heavy, raw, progressive, death and avant-garde thinking metal. The record was co-produced by Frogg guitarist/vocalist Sky Moon Clark and Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist, Scale the Summit). Fans who have been following Frogg since their conception will find exactly what that they signed up for along with lots of fun surprises. The band doesn’t operate in one genre all the time and “Eclipse” is set to marvel.

“A sonic eclipse where every genre collides—progressive, technical, and just enough death to keep your neck sore for weeks.” adds bassist Ethan Emery.

Lyrically, the record explores Mythology from various places along with tying tales and emotions together. Fans can expect seasonal singles from Frogg going forward as they already have plans for follow-up singles to come real soon after the album’s release.

FROGG’s main ambition is to hit the live circuit with a perfected performance and its brand-new line-up. With performance in mind, FROGG has been relentlessly rehearsing new original material and old, to deliver an authentic live experience.

FROGG To Deliver A Sonic “Eclipse” of Bold, Modern Metal w/ Debut Album Coming March 2025

Frogg, the technical metal sensation from New York, USA, announces they will unveil their debut album “Eclipse” in March 2025. A long time in waiting, this first full-length features ten tracks of heavy, raw, progressive, and avant-garde thinking metal.

Over the last two years, the band has been unraveling singles such as “Double Vision Roll”, “Dandelion”, and “Wake Up” with music videos, all of which will be showcased on the record that was co-produced by Frogg guitarist/vocalist Sky Moon Clark and Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist, Scale the Summit).

The singles each exhibited different stylistic strengths, “Wake Up” being more progressive, “Dandelion” and “Double Vision Roll” more in the vein of something between death metal and prog metal. At the end of the day, Frogg is an amalgamation of the music the quartet enjoys, and that’s what the band is and why they sit in between a few key sub-genres.

Israel’s Neolia‘s debut self-titled album is a masterpiece of experimental, progressive metal that will leave you speechless. From the haunting melodies to the complex rhythms, every aspect of this album has been crafted with care and precision. Get ready to be transported to another dimension with this Israeli band’s stunning debut and the recently released single “Rise and Fall” being presented now with a lyric video. The band shares the background of the track:

“It was the first one of the first songs we wrote for the album. Its first draft was recorded with just an electric guitar as a very basic demo, but it had most of the original riffs. The next demo version that was crafted at Tomer’s home studio was already in its final form, but it had had tweaks done to it and other parts and elements added as well. It is directly related to the concept of the album and the struggles of day-to-day life but not only the common ones, and is based on a fictional story Tomer had written. The main character, Alex, tries his best to recreate his past as a raging prophet that leads the weak, bruised, and innocent to follow his path but he doesn’t succeed this time so he crawls back to the demons that comfort him in his depression.”

The track starts off with a heavy groove intro, but it breaks once the verse enters with a drum and bass-like pattern demonstrating the duality of the song as the energy stretches back and forth. Containing some odd signature rhythms and polyrhythmic components it even leans into different genres becoming thought-provoking, alongside relatable, cathartic lyrics.

On a musical level, Neolia aspires to be a new horizon in the rock and metal scene, allowing a sense of freedom within the parameters of rock and metal, and leaving space for other musical inspirations such as African, Latin, and contemporary jazz music. Israel’s Neolia is a force to be reckoned with in the world of progressive metal, and their self-titled debut album is proof of that. With intricate instrumentation, soaring vocals, and unrelenting energy, this album is a must-listen for any fan of progressive music. According to the band, this album has traveled a lifetime with them already, and they are excited to be releasing it to the world. They share their thoughts:

“Being able to shine a light and allowing others to see, hear, and feel what we feel this elaborate vision is in itself a blessing and it is what keeps us going. We wanted to allow new emotions and new subjects that we had felt were not given the proper attention, such as child neglection, mental illnesses, personal family issues, torture and more to be given the option to be approached from a perspective of a fictional story in order for people to be able to connect to the complexity of the lyrics more easily.”

They continue to explain that although this is a concept album, each track presents its own unique characteristics and expresses a variety of styles and musical ideas that are derived from world music, jazz, and electronic at times. The album also incorporates different interludes some atmospheric and some piano based adding more emotional layers and subcontext to the mood changes in the album. It is intended to feel artistic in its nature and to convey a message of freedom.

Neolia was formed to give to others and to encourage people to come together. They give in a few dimensions — one is personal and spiritual, and the other is musical and expressive.

The self-titled album was mastered by Howie Weinberg (Metallica, Pantera, Nirvana) and is available as of May 5th, 2023.

In addition to the album’s release, the band is sharing their latest live video for the track “A Better Version of You”, which was captured during a recent performance at the legendary Tel-Aviv venue Barby.

The record is a heavily layered listening experience, a cacophony of styles, merging together to create an intense wall of sound that forces you to pay attention to all the subliminal notes and tempo changes.

Since January of this year, the band has been revealing videos and singles in lead-up of the album’s release.

Today, the band presents their final single “Bloom” and its music video before “Hyper Reels” officially makes its full audio entrance into the progressive metal moshpit.

Similar to previously revealed singles that were inspired by well-known TV shows and movies, “Bloom” came to life after the band viewed the experimental adult animated film “Waking Life”.

“Bloom takes inspiration from the concept of lucid dreaming and the cryptic messages from the subconscious mind experienced in the dream state. Dreams are something we all share, whether it’s a pleasant walk through a garden with a long-lost friend, a surreal inversion of mundane life, or a horrific run-in with an unknowable evil, we all have them at some time. As universal as dreams themselves is the wish to control these experiences. Bloom explores this idea, through the eyes of a dreamer who finds themselves tormented until they gain control.” adds the band.

Canadian progressive metalcore outfit Maitreya will be unleashing their upcoming full-length “Hyper Reels” this coming June 2021. The sophomore album boasts a higher degree of musical complexity, filthy breakdowns and a wider range on the vocals ebbing from melodic cleans into sustained growls set to a whirlwind of complicated riffs. The record is a heavily layered listening experience, a cacophony of styles, merging together to create an intense wall of sound that forces you to pay attention to all the subliminal notes and tempo changes.

To date, they have shared three singles “Summit”, “Departed” and “Catalyst” and today they are ready to present their next track in preview of the forthcoming album.

Similar to previously revealed singles that were inspired by the well-known TV show and movies, “Pilgrim” came to light after guitarist Mark Wylie’s viewing of a Black Mirror episode.

“Pilgrim has one of the more broad scoped lyrics concepts in the album. It talks about social trends and the kind of philosophy which organizes our society, which came to mind after seeing an episode of Black Mirror. Our society is organized in a way that leads many to feel imprisoned and trapped within the social norms and systemic structures that exist. This song seeks to emulate both the feelings of imprisonment, as well as a more positive vision for our collective societal future.” adds Wylie.

The music video itself is visually progressive and psychedelic with a calming audio experience until towards the end of the track, you get a beautiful djent breakdown along with an unleashed rapture from vocalist Matt Cutrara.

Hailing from Oshawa, Canada, Maitreya will be unleashing their upcoming album “Hyper Reels” this coming June 2021. To date, they have shared two singles “Departed” and “Catalyst”.

Continuing in lead up to their new record’s release, the band is sharing their American Gods inspired single “Summit” with the premiere of its music video via TheCircle Pit HERE.

“Summit is an exploration of the concept of spiritual value, and the way that giving time and attention to things gives them power. At times we give this power to things or concepts which do not add positivity to our lives but instead hollow and degrade our existence. Inspired by the novel American Gods by Neil Gaiman and the show of the same name.”

Hailing from Oshawa, Canada, progressive metalcore Maitreya announced earlier this year they will be unleashing their new album “Hyper Reels” on June 25th, 2021. In lead up to the full-length’s release, the band has so far shared two singles, “Catalyst” and “Departed”.

As they continue to showcase a barrage of complexity intertwined with melody, the band is sharing their new guitar playthrough for “Departed”, the most complex and exploratory song on the record. “Departed is the most complex and exploratory song on the record.
