IVY GARDENS Announces Eastern Canada GOON Tour (ON, QC, NB, NS, PEI)

New Music Video “Boner” Is The First Look At Their New Album “Goon” Out April 2024

Prepare for a relentless onslaught of vulgar, belligerent punk, sludge, and sweat as Ivy Gardens, the sonic architects of chaos, emerge from the shadows of Niagara, Ontario to tour across Eastern Canada this coming May 2024 (dates listed below) in support of their forthcoming first full-length album “Goon”, arriving on April 19, 2024. Brace yourself for an immersive experience as the band delivers a nearly endless stream of beaten-to-hell drums, searing organs, throbbing bass synths, and a liquid wall of guitar sludge, which is showcased in their recently released first single and music video “Boner”.

“Opening with a relaxed groove that builds and builds to the heaviest possible climax, Boner has been a major highlight of our live set since it was introduced. Following the more relaxed pacing of the song, the softer vocal performance less seen in our music tells of a (seemingly) simple disagreement between two bitter individuals. Its bridge, the “101010” dirge, is by far the heaviest composition we have achieved to date, and we are so excited to finally send it out into the world.” adds the band.

Watch and listen to the music video for “Boner” at https://youtu.be/ZhGSSAPQUxA

The album “Goon” contains many tracks that current fans have been hearing live for a while. They know “Boner” is coming and Ivy Gardens knows many of them are frothing at the mouth for it. Since their thunderous inception in 2021, Ivy Gardens has been carving a path of destruction across the east coast of Canada and that will continue with a summer tour announced in the coming weeks.

The volume is crushing, leaving no room to breathe—the auditory manifestation of a panic attack. With no respite, Ivy Gardens invites you into their realm, where the mosh pit never stops, and the phantom ring in your ears serves as the only encore. “Goon” is recommended for fans of Kyuss, Truckfighters, and Queens of the Stone Age.

“Goon” is out April 19th, 2024, and available for album pre-order at https://ivygardens.bandcamp.com.

“…the sonic equivalent of a panic attack.” – Canadian Beats

““Boner” has got a really cool groove, too, showing you what can happen when you’ve got a band that is truly possessed by the power of The Riff. It’s one of those grinding, motoriffic jobs in the spirit of Kyuss’ “Green Machine.” And it doesn’t take long before we, too, are caught under its sway. The retro organ sound from the keys provides a spooky touch to the chorus, which comes like a sigh of relief after the tense build-up of those guitar-driven verses. The drumming is swarmy and frenetic, and strikes with power at pivotal moments. The breakdown at 4 minutes is a headbanging oasis, made even cooler with the synthesizer’s late-’60s garage twist.” – Doomed and Stoned

“This Canadian trio are promising us a debut album that is “a relentless onslaught of vulgar, belligerent punk, sludge and sweat” when it is released in April. If this lead single is anything to go by, things are going to get very belligerent and sweaty when the full-lengther finally hits our death decks.” – Uber Rock

The Order of The Precious Blood Unveils Intense, Chaotic Single “Cheaper But Will Do”

Canadian East Coast Tour Dates (NL, NS, PEI)

L-R – Cameron Legge (Guitar) Ben Chapman-Smith (Bass), Paul Brake (Vocals), Adam Hearn (Drums) Barry O’Keefe (Guitar)

The Order of The Precious Blood, the blackened hardcore punk band hailing from St John’s Newfoundland, Canada, has two chaotic singles coming out this spring, in rapid succession. The first, “Cheaper But Will Do”, is a relentless two-minute journey that blurs the line between metal and hardcore punk. The single immerses listeners in a whirlwind of chaotic emotions, rapidly transitioning through sections while maintaining an intense and abrasive sound. Vocalist Paul Brake comments on the succinct single:

“It started with me seeing an episode of the 90’s television show Unsolved Mysteries where a crime had taken place and inside the home was this cryptic phrase written on the wall. The episode creeped me out when I first saw it and the phrase always stuck with me and I always kind of thought it could be a title for a song. The lyrics paint a bleak picture of a chaotic world where we’re all doing what we can to survive and in the end challenge you to “maintain existence now”.”

“Cheaper But Will Do” showcases the band’s evolution toward heavier influences, blending elements from death metal and black metal into the hardcore punk landscape. One of the things they pride themselves on is the energy and atmosphere in their live shows. All members are fully engaged with the audience and the music, and they keep an intense connection between them and the people in the crowd. There is wild chaos, creepy sound effects, and a little bit of danger, but ultimately a safe space for everyone to come and express themselves and have a good time. They can be found in the following cities in the coming months listed below:

Show Dates:
April 19 – St John’s, NL – Peter Eastons – 19+ w/ Of The Black, Kaspam Cult, Killer 9000
April 20 – St John’s, NL – Gower Street United Church – All Ages
April 25 – Halifax, NS – Radstorm w/ Pavel Stroke, Thousand Knives, and Pale Ache
April 26 – Miramichi, NB – The Shred Shed w/ Ten Dollar Meat Bags and Ibex
April 27 – Moncton, NB – Xeroz w/ Yhorm, and Ibex
April 28 – Glace Bay, NB – The Bitten Moon Pub w/ Breakneck, Fear and Filth, and Great Value
May 2 – Charlottetown, P.E.I. – Charlottetown Beer Garden – ECMA Showcase
May 4 – Charlottetown, P.E.I. – Charlottetown Beer Garden – ECMA Showcase

Known for their frenetic style, The Order of The Precious Blood creates an experience akin to a horror movie come to life – relentless, punishing, and claustrophobic. “Cheaper But Will Do” marries lightning-fast hardcore punk with searing noisy dissonance, accompanied by aggressive and emotive vocals that deliver venom straight to the listener’s face. It is recommended for fans of Converge, Alexisonfire, and Every Time I Die.

Watch and listen to “Cheaper But Will Do” via its video premiere on IDIOTEQ HERE.

“Cheaper But Will Do” is due out on March 8, 2024, and available at the following links:

“From the rocky shores of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada comes a blood ceremony, an unholy sacrament of the wicked riff. The Order of the Precious Blood congregates to bask in the red glow and immense power of heavy fucking metal” – Decibel Magazine

“I’m downright flabbergasted by the quality of this EP. I’ve come back to it time and time again. It’s got a distinct sound, it’s got variety, it’s got great songwriting, and top of the line production. If this is what The Order of the Precious Blood is starting out with then consider me a devout follower of the cult. I can’t wait to hear what these guys produce next. If you haven’t listened to this EP yet, do yourself a favour and get on that.” – HeavyNFLD

0 OMNIVIDE’s “Cosmic Convergence” Puts A Progressive Metal Spin On Astrophysics Off Debut Album “A Tale of Fire” Out March 2024 + Canadian Tour Dates (NB, NS, QC, ON)

Moncton’s OMNIVIDE Put A Progressive Metal Spin On Astrophysics in “Cosmic Convergence”

Debut Full-Length “A Tale Of Fire” Out March 22, 2024

Eastern Canadian Tour Dates (NB, NS, QC, ON)

Omnivide, a progressive metal band formed in 2020, is on the cusp of releasing their debut album, “A Tale of Fire,” in March 2024. Comprising members with diverse musical influences, the band aimed to create a unique blend of progressive, death, and symphonic metal. The album is a musical journey, alternating between intense heaviness and beautiful, emotional sections. Omnivide seeks to offer listeners a complete experience, combining excitement, energy, and contrasting emotions throughout the album. The third single “Cosmic Convergence” takes the listener to the end of days, which the band explains in further detail:

“Lyrically, this song is about the Big Crunch, the opposite of the Big Bang, when astrophysicists predict that the universe will stop expanding and instead collapse on itself back to a single, infinitely small and dense point of matter. The lyrics describe this process in a poetic way in the first section of the song, with the final chorus shifting perspectives from that of the universe itself to a single human witnessing this process, with the lines ‘One final cry/Begging not to die/As all we are is swallowed by stars’.”

“Cosmic Convergence” was written by Samuel Frenette and is composed of some fast and technical riffs, some more straightforward, but all very melodic with heavy layers of orchestration, and a lot of clean vocals compared to most songs on the album. This song is extremely high-octane in a melancholic and epic way, that tries to communicate the sense of desperation and urgency of the lyrics, with the song being about the end of the universe.

Dark melodies, groovy punches, distorted chord progressions, screaming vocals, and melodic guitar solos are the key elements in this apocalyptic and epic song. It is recommended for all prog fans, especially those with an interest in Obscura, Alkaloid, and Devin Townsend.

Watch and listen to “Cosmic Convergence” via its lyric video premiere on NoCleanSinging HERE.

Due out on March 22, 2024, “A Tale of Fire” is available for album pre-save at https://linktr.ee/omnivide.

Canada’s epic metal quartet and Wacken Metal Battle 2015 international champions VESPERIA announce due to visa conflicts they’ve been forced to cancel their US dates this November.
The band issued the following statement:

“Our friends, it is with deep displeasure and disappointment that we must cancel our upcoming US dates this fall on The Tempests Over the East Tour. We were notified that we would not be receiving our visas until the winter, making our attempt at crossing the US border impossible. Though we were given an opportunity to expedite the visas, it is just too expensive for us as an independent metal band at this time.

We are truly sorry and apologize deeply to the fans, bands, promoters and our US agent for this news. We will definitely make it up to you all next year with a tour of epic proportions and a massive new album!

That being said, we will still continue on with our Canadian dates and include an additional date in Fredericton, NB on Monday November 9. We also have some huge news to reveal soon!

Thank you all for your understanding.

Much love,

-Vesperia”

About:
The cloudy beginnings of VESPERIA lay etched in the gorged bodies of former musical projects among the now four-member band. Twisting, writhing and forcing their aural onslaught upon metal audiences across the globe have sincerely ensured the band’s continuity through all the harsh and arduous battles modern metal bands are bound to encounter in their tenures.
Established in 2012 by vocalist/ bassist Morgan Rider, the sound, direction and theme of the music quickly and naturally evolved into the style of fierce and heroic metal the band is now known and praised for.
Shortly after releasing their first full-length album Voyage from Vinland, VESPERIA redefined themselves and further focused their direction with the 2012 demo, The Swordsman. In 2013, the band independently funded and released their 2nd full-length album An Olden Tale, drawing the ears and attention of metal fans around the world and demonstrating their true mastery of their craft. During that same year, the band also independently funded and completed several Canadian tours to support the album.
Early 2015 saw the band enter the studio once again to record some demo material, which would become The Iron Tempests EP. During this time, the band toured Canada from coast to coast and also made an appearance at Wacken Open Air in Germany, where they won the title of 2015 International Wacken Battle Champions, a second time win for the band’s frontman, Morgan.
With their most fierce music written to date and a bounty of opportunity awaiting, VESPERIA continue to hungrily eye 2015 as the year they will make their mark upon the Earth.

2 – Iron Saga (6:13)

About:

Over the last few years, the Ottawa, ON based rock nerds have toured across Canada six times, twice in the UK and the States, performing 500+ shows over 100,000 miles and sharing the stage with such acts as Silverstein, Hawthorne Heights, Every Time I Die, Dead and Divine, Lifestory:Monologue to name a few. Their new album ‘721835’ is a curious collection of songs that are inspired by everything the band loves and considers nerdy. Showcasing a creative sound influenced by geeky comic books, trading cards, classic 8 bits games to today’s future 3D experiences, the album follows up their 2011 EP ‘One Big Quicksand’ recorded and produced by Jayson DeZuzio (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance) that was released via Blue Sapphire/Universal Music Canada.

“Nerds from our great neighbors from the North can rock!  Double XP is a lot more than a couple of gamers with instruments.  Their upcoming album goes to show that gamers really do have feelings, and they are not ashamed to talk about em!” Royal Flush Magazine

“Their debut album “721835” consists of a fairly ballsy bunch of well-written alternative rock ‘n’ roll songs with cheeky riffs and ambitious vocal melodies. The lyrics might very well have been inspired by nerdy things and contain plenty of references that can be cherished by fellow nerds, but at the same time they are written in a way that succeeds in communicating extremely relatable feelings and experiences.” – Rock Freaks

“They’re a quartet who embrace their nerdy credentials, and luckily for those who may be concerned also know how to knock out some chunky riffs and melody lines.” – Screamer Magazine

“I recommend checking out “721835” if you enjoy rock music, Fall Out Boy, or simply love the combination of music and gaming/comic books/trading cards/etc.” – Canadian Beats

“Good songwriters…I think [Double Experience] are next. They’re going to do very well and I’m very excited about that.” – Jayson DeZuzio, producer (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance, Four Year Strong)

“The most genuine and down to earth band I’ve ever had to work with, load-in and sound checks were quick and easy with this bunch and they are some of the most hard working guys we as a venue have ever had the pleasure of the working with. Having traveled so far, and never played Swansea… prior to the show we were very unsure as to which way the event would turnout. But sure enough, [the band] did not disappoint. Playing to a pretty full room of Welsh fans singing and dancing along, throwing in a cover by Queen to really get them going. As a promoter and venue owner, I would recommend booking this band to anyone in the world, they definitely will not disappoint.” – William Sheldon, Promoter & Venue Owner – Static Bar, Swansea UK

“It’s rare that a band like Double Experience come along so we’re going to cherish them while they can still call themselves an ‘upcoming’ band because it won’t be long before they’re playing sold out massive shows. Great band, highly recommended.” – Andrew Dutton, Promoter – The Square, Harlow UK
