Canadian heavy metal force THUNDEROR proudly announces the release of their highly anticipated sophomore album, “Bleed For It,” available now on April 17, 2026, through Boonsdale Records. The album marks a major creative leap for the band, expanding their signature blend of heavy metal, hair metal, and rock‑opera theatrics into a full‑scale concept experience.

Formed in 2020 by multi‑JUNO‑nominated musicians JJ Tartaglia and Jonny Nesta (both known for their work in Skull Fist), THUNDEROR quickly rose to prominence with their debut “Fire It Up” (2022), which hit #1 on Earshot’s National Loud Chart. Extensive touring across Europe, Canada, Mexico, and South America followed, with the band sharing stages with Airbourne, U.D.O., Enforcer, Night Demon, and more.

The release of “Bleed For It” arrives during a busy year for THUNDEROR. The band will be hitting the road this April for an Eastern Canadian tour supporting Switzerland’s Burning Witches (Napalm Records). They were also scheduled for a European tour with Chris Holmes (W.A.S.P.), which was unfortunately cancelled recently due to Holmes’ health issues, but the band notes that more EU dates will be announced when possible.

Canada Tour 2026 with Burning Witches

April 20 – Piranha Bar – Montreal, QC
April 21 – La Source De La Martiniere – Quebec City, QC
April 22 – Rainbow Bistro – Ottawa, ON
April 23 – The Garrison – Toronto, ON

“Bleed For It” serves as the official soundtrack to “Thunderor The Musical,” which first premiered at the Toronto Fringe Festival in 2025. The album tells a sweeping story set in an alternate 1992, where adventure, danger, and romance collide.

The narrative follows Bowen, a washed‑up musician and biker who takes one last shot at glory, joined by his best friends Kenzie and Sheenah, and a local friar. Their journey pits them against a rival biker leader and thrusts them into a whirlwind of love triangles, rebellion, and self‑discovery.

“I hope this album inspires listeners to follow their dreams. Let it be the soundtrack to your unbridled life adventures,” says drummer, vocalist, and primary songwriter JJ Tartaglia.

Musically, “Bleed For It” dives deeper into Thunderor’s arena rock‑opera heavy metal identity, anthemic, melodic, emotional, and built for big stages.

“The vocals have improved drastically, and the songwriting has matured. There’s more emotion in the music, and the choruses are bigger than ever,” says Tartaglia.

That energy fuels a narrative‑driven tracklist that mirrors the spirit of “Thunderor The Musical,” from the adrenaline‑charged opener “Pump Up The Volume” and the anthemic title track, to the road‑trip camaraderie of “Take Me To The Show” and the wrestling‑inspired punch of “Get ’Em Counted.” The album shifts into heartfelt territory with “Cape Breton Home,” erupts into revolution on “Streets Of Fire,” and leans into romance on the heavier “One Chance.” The cinematic “DreamQuest” sets the stage for the finale, “In The Fire O’ The Heat,” a powerful closer about heartbreak, betrayal, resilience, and hope.

The release of “Bleed For It” also follows a wave of momentum for the band. Their 2024 single “Get ’Em Counted” surpassed 230K YouTube views, and the debut of Thunderor The Musical in 2025 introduced fans to a new theatrical dimension of the band’s identity.

“Many of these songs began with vocal melodies. I handled the melodies, arrangements, and drums, while Jonny Nesta wrote the guitar parts. It’s a true collaboration, but the story and emotion drive everything,”
adds Tartaglia.

With influences ranging from Meat Loaf, Van Halen, Night Flight Orchestra, Skull Fist, Ghost, and The Darkness, Thunderor’s sound is a modern revival of the arena‑rock spirit, uplifting, dramatic, and built for escape.

Now available as of April 17th, 2026, from Boonsdale Records, “Bleed For It” is available at the following links:

“”Bleed For It” is an album that confirms that Thunderor can turn classic heavy/speed metal into something fresh, energetic and full of character. Originating from the Canadian stage and built on the experience of Skull Fist musicians, the band focuses on a sound based on a motor rhythm, sharp riffs and vocals carrying a spirit of determination. SIEGE PERILOUS’ New Video “Ancient Rite” Is A Power Metal Quest To Conquer Fear and Destiny!

New Album “Becoming The Dragon” Out Now!

Colorado power metal storytellers Siege Perilous have released the brand‑new lyric video for “Ancient Rite,” the second chapter in their sweeping 2026 concept album “Becoming the Dragon.” The track introduces listeners to the prophecy that binds the album’s protagonist, setting the stage for the epic, ten‑part saga that follows.

“Ancient Rite begins with a somber, almost foreboding tone. It’s the moment where the world of the prophecy opens up, and the listener steps into the story. It’s airy, it’s ominous, and it lays the foundation for everything that comes after,” says vocalist Shaughnessy McDaniel.

The lyric video arrives as the band continues to roll out material from “Becoming the Dragon,” following the acclaimed singles “As the Dragon Falls” (feat. Fabio Lione) and “Echoes of Home” ft. Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance) and the album’s thunderous title track.

“Becoming the Dragon” is a fully realized narrative concept album chronicling the rise, fall, and transformation of the “Child of Prophecy.” “Ancient Rite” serves as the album’s first true narrative step after the orchestral overture, introducing the mythic forces that shape the hero’s destiny.

The track’s somber, spacious atmosphere, driven by a steady, commanding verse, reflects the uncertainty and weight of prophecy. It’s the calm before the storm that erupts in later tracks like “As the Dragon Falls,” “Chieftain,” and “Eschaton.”

Watch and listen to the lyric video for “Ancient Rite” at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKSsUhIQt-E

Formed in Colorado by longtime friends and LARP companions Shaughnessy McDaniel (vocals), Scott Hancock (guitar), and Mark Girard (drums), Siege Perilous grew from a shared passion for fantasy storytelling and the electrifying inspiration of seeing Unleash the Archers live in 2021. Joined by Eric Fischer (bass) and later Ryan Flanagan, the band has evolved into a fully collaborative creative unit. Every track on “Becoming the Dragon” was shaped collectively, with each member contributing to the story beats, arrangements, and narrative flow. The result is a unified musical saga with each chapter standing strong as an individual song.

“We could not possibly be more excited to share Becoming the Dragon. This album represents our collective experience, skill, hopes, and dreams as musicians. Getting to collaborate with Fabio and Kristin, two artists who inspired us long before this band existed, has been surreal. We can’t wait for people to hear the full story,” adds McDaniel.

Epic, melodic, powerful, cinematic, and story‑driven, Siege Perilous is recommended for fans of Battle Beast, Sabaton, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Helloween, and Avantasia.

“Becoming the Dragon” (released March 27th) is available via Crunchtronic Records on all digital platforms, along with physical CD and Vinyl, plus merch at the following links:

“Siege Perilous Unleashes a Dragon-Slaying Debut” – Westword Denver

“Denver, CO power-metal storytellers Siege Perilous launch their full-length Becoming the Dragon, which stands as a genre-defining concept album for the modern era.” – New Noise Magazine

“The debut album from this Colorado band is another fine example of just taking what makes power metal and epic heavy metal work and putting your own spin to it all.. with the excellent production and two awesome guest spots from Fabio Leone and Kristen Starky to give this just a little more cred and you having an album that is for anyone who enjoys the likes of Blind Guardian, Rapsidity, Krilloan, and Evermore. Excellent. Excellent music.” – Heavy Debriefings

“Becoming the Dragon is an excellent album in its own right, and it shows an up-and-coming band making great strides towards becoming a force to be reckoned with. Siege Perilous already had me interested with their previous EP, but this album shows them maturing in their delivery, as well as fleshing out their songwriting and showing signs of the kind of epic, fantasy-themed storytelling they’re capable of. Musically, it’s a very solid album, mostly staying in epic heavy metal territory, with brief flashes of power metal, and while vocalist Shaughnessy McDaniel is a tad unpolished at times, he makes up for it with power, energy and charisma in full supply. It’s obvious this is only the beginning for the band, and they have plenty of untapped potential, but it’s still a strong debut in its own right, and one I can easily recommend for fans of epic heavy metal and fantasy-themed power metal.” – My Global Mind Magazine

“With „Becoming The Dragon“ Siege Perilous follow in the big footsteps of bands like Avantasia, Iron Maiden and Blind Guardian. And the musicians do this extremely well. Great epic, sometimes bombastic sound, strong vocal direction and very good musicians make this debut extremely worth listening to.” – Keep On Rocking Mag

“This is epic Power Metal again, with driving drums and fast guitar solos.” – Metalheads Forever Mag

“The debut album from the epic, Colorado-based power metallers is a true journey from start to finish. From soaring melodies to insane harmonised guitars to the solid drumming and powerful vocals, it’s 44-minutes of grandiose heavy metal through and through! ‘As the Dragon Falls’ (feat. the awesome Fabio Lione) is a huge high point of the album, as is ’Chieftain’ and the epic closing track. It reminds me a lot of Fellowship or even Dragonforce, that epic huge power metal built more for its huge moments and soundscapes. The band are insanely good songwriters, and for this to be a debut album makes it feel like we have some truly special things to come in the next few years! They’re ones to watch, for sure! However, for now, this is an excellent release for anyone into the genre even a little bit!” – Overtone Magazine

“For a debut, ‘Becoming The Dragon’ is a bold and confident statement… undeniably compelling, and a promising sign of greater things to come.” – Metal Rager 666

“Siege Perilous puts all the notes in the right places and has the chops to be a player in the epic power metal arena… and Becoming the Dragon offers a glimpse of this band’s potential.” – The Metal Crypt

“orchestral power metal with a fine story” – FFM-Rock

“With ‘Becoming The Dragon’, Siege Perilous proves that they are ready for the bigger stage. For fans of Wind Rose, Hammerfall, Sabaton, Blind Guardian, and Iron Maiden, this is a must. This is power metal with heart, brains, and a sword in hand.” – Musika

“Becoming The Dragon is an ambitious work that combines epic heavy metal with orchestral elements. Siege Perilous show talent in songwriting and variety of arrangements… The mix of powerful vocals, triple guitar riffing and orchestral interjections makes the album interesting for fans of epic metal,” – MetalUnderground.at

““It’s certainly not a lack of ambition, this is a band that clearly sees itself as the natural successors to the true greats of fantasy-based power metal… Guest Fabio Lione… absolutely lays waste to all around him in the role of ‘The Dragon’ on As The Dragon Falls…. They deserve the highest praise for their commitment to the cause if nothing else.” – Sentinel Daily

“The 10 tracks keep you on the edge of your seat and even feature a collaboration with Fabio Lione, who deserves to be praised in every way… An album to enjoy!” – Nada Hay Bajo El Sol

““‘As the Dragon Falls’ is elevated to a completely different level…. The catchy melodies and gripping guitar work are among the highlights of the record…. With the melancholic dark ballad ‘Echoes of Home,’ the band proves their knack for atmospheric arrangements with depth… Kristin Starkey contributes female vocals that give the track a beautifully atmospheric dimension… The gripping, catchy anthem ‘Chieftan’ is another noteworthy and praiseworthy exception.” – Obliveon

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – April 2, 2026

Streaming Now! ONCHOCERCIASIS ESOPHAGOGASTRODUODENOSCOPY’s New Album “Fugue Gnawed from the Scabbed God Cerebrum”

L – R – The Popuko – Guitars, Drums, Bass, Backing Vocals, Alice Simard – Guitars, Drums, Jesse Agiomamitis – Vocals

Apocalyptic brutal slamming death metal entity Onchocerciasis Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (OxE) has partnered with Decibel Magazine for the exclusive stream premiere of their long‑awaited full‑length album, “Fugue Gnawed from the Scabbed God Cerebrum,” ahead of its official release on April 3, 2026, through Stillbirth Records / Gore House Productions.

The Decibel stream marks the first opportunity for fans to experience the album in its entirety, an eleven‑track descent into dissonant barbarity, cosmic violence, and experimental extremity. The LP represents OxE’s most ambitious and punishing work to date, expanding their sonic identity far beyond the foundations laid on their previous EP, “The Fallen Lament.”

Listen to the album in full on Decibel Magazine HERE.

OxE’s lineup spans three countries: Quebec City, Canada (Alice), Australia (Jesse), and Germany (Popu), yet their creative synergy is seamless. Originally a solo project by guitarist Alice Simard, OxE evolved into a collaborative force after Jesse joined in 2019. Popu, a longtime fan, later connected with Alice through their shared love of the obscure bullet‑hell game Touhou Project, completing the trio. Their influences range from Disentomb, Artificial Brain, and Deathspell Omega to video games (Dark Souls, NieR), anime (Berserk, Evangelion), and global folklore.

“Fugue Gnawed from the Scabbed God Cerebrum” is a meticulously crafted sonic nightmare. Musically, the album pushes OxE into their most experimental territory yet, layering warped synths, organic instrumentation, and alien sound design between the carnage of their signature riffs and gutturals.

“Start‑to‑finish, the album is dissonant, punishing, and disorienting. Many of the lyrical subjects are larger-than-life. The songs tell the story of a single entity, a godslayer, on a God‑of‑War‑esque rampage through the universe, all veiled in obscurity,” says vocalist Jesse Agiomamitis.

German multi‑instrumentalist The Popu adds:

“This is the most experimental OxE release to date. The synths and organic layers were destroyed and reshaped to give the soundscape an alien feel. I was heavily inspired by Nithing’s ‘Agonal Hymns and Dripping’s ‘Disintegration of Thought Patterns During A Synthetic Mind Traveling Bliss.’”

The album’s artwork, created by Mei Maro, reflects the band’s fascination with folklore, mythology, and surreal horror, an amalgamation of the influences that shaped the record’s writing.

From the chaotic opener “Conquering Divinity” to the melodic yet brutal closer “Forged in the Blackest Reaches of Blasphemy,” the album traverses a wide spectrum of textures and emotional weight. “Heaven’s Empty Halls” introduces dungeon‑synth‑esque atmospheres. “Entombed Within the Infinite Panopticon” delivers one of the album’s heaviest breakdowns. “Abyssikataplexika” showcases some of the most inhuman vocal performances OxE has ever recorded. “Apotheotic Apotemnophilia” explores melodic territory while maintaining crushing heaviness. Every track contributes to the overarching narrative of cosmic annihilation and psychological descent.

Recommended for fans of Deathspell Omega, Disentomb, Artificial Brain, First Fragment, Disgorge, and Ulcerate, OxE‘s “Fugue Gnawed from the Scabbed God Cerebrum” is their longest and most refined release yet: no filler, no restraint, and no compromise.

“First of all besides the insane moniker and album title, I don’t even know how to label this shit. If you know, you know… It sounds like an army of angry lawnmowers rolling over cliffs and boulders, LOL! Fuck it… four tacos out of five!” – Micha Kite – Metal Underground

“A complex and bizarre name reflects the complex and bizarre nature of this band. Mixing Slam, Brutal Death Metal, hints of prog metal and other influences makes for a heady brew of extreme music…. This eclectic approach never lets up for the whole of the album, with so many familiar yet alien sounds emerging, riffs that sound like they were written by a thrash band, or slow dirgey sections that come straight from doom metal’s playbook. Does this approach work? Incredibly, yes! The album stays fresh and interesting; there is always something you draw your attention to and keep you listening. Combine this with the band’s art and lyrical efforts and it makes for a crazy, heady mixture of the heavy and the ridiculous, but at least it’s never boring!” – The Razor’s Edge

“Because the band varies quite a lot within the framework and smuggles in unwholesome elements, ‘Fugue Gnawed from the Scabbed God Cerebrum’ remains captivating from start to finish. Every listen reveals new details, and the craftsmanship and tight compositions make this album a delightful cocktail of proggy avant-garde brutal tech death slam jazz. Or something like that. Surprising, unexpected, and constantly memorable: this is a top record of brutality.” – Musika

“Victims of brutal death metal will recognize the trauma inflicted by the song’s (Gutted and Corpsed) opening, a combination of furiously rattling snare-drums, sewer-gurgling riffage, and equally grotesque sewer-dwelling vocals, but even there the band also discharge shrill and weirdly squirming frequencies and shotgun blasts, as well as slamming hammer blows and bursts of viciously darting and insanely screaming fretwork. But the song shifts, opening a portal to an even more macabre cavalcade of screeching and bizarrely contorting tonalities (some of which are ejected from a contorting throat), accompanied by sudden and equally crazed percussive contortions and thudding bass-level throbs. Ghosts might be wailing and screaming, and there’s a guitar solo in the mix too, but it too has lost its mind. Near the end, when the drumming has become heavily medicated and slumbers, the music changes even more dramatically. Something like a flute enticingly whispers, and something like an oboe woozily wanders against a backdrop of gentling shimmering strings — a little caress to help you begin unscrambling your brain.” – No Clean Singing

“The speed of the drums, the ferocity of the vocals, the intensity of the guitars and how all of that blends together in the most diabolical way… Onchocerciasis Esophagogastroduodenoscopy are pushing boundaries here.. what they have created here is fascinating and admirable.. it is an unforgettable listen…” – Games Brrraaains and Head-Banging Life

Colorado power metal storytellers Siege Perilous ignite the next chapter of their musical saga with the release of their first single and music video, “As the Dragon Falls”, featuring legendary vocalist Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra). The track serves as the first glimpse into the band’s sweeping debut concept album, “Becoming the Dragon,” out March 27, 2026.

Forged from the camaraderie of live‑action roleplay and a shared love of epic storytelling, Siege Perilous has built a reputation for crafting cinematic, narrative‑driven metal that blends myth, history, and high‑fantasy adventure. Their upcoming full‑length album marks the culmination of years of collaborative writing, world‑building, and musical evolution.

“As the Dragon Falls” is more than a single; it’s a milestone for the band, especially for vocalist Shaughnessy McDaniel, who has been a devoted Rhapsody fan since his teens.

“As the Dragon Falls represents a true heavy metal dream come true for all of us, but especially for Shaughnessy. Working with Fabio far exceeded anything we could have hoped for. His classic soaring vocals combined with Shaughnessy’s lower register create a really unique and cool power metal sound,” adds the band.

The song’s narrative twist, where slaying the dragon becomes a metaphor for the double‑edged nature of achieving one’s goals, adds a bittersweet emotional core to the track. Lione himself was drawn to the story and, according to the band, “really gave it his all.”

Musically, the single fuses Siege Perilous’ signature melodic power with the symphonic grandeur of classic Rhapsody, delivering a heroic anthem that darkens into something far more ominous by its final moments.

Watch and listen to the music video for “As the Dragon Falls” featuring Fabio Lione via its premiere on MetalAddicts HERE.

“Becoming the Dragon” is a ten‑part epic chronicling the rise, fall, and metamorphosis of the “Child of Prophecy,” a hero who must confront fate, tragedy, and ultimately his own transformation into the titular dragon. The album features guest performances from both Fabio Lione and powerhouse vocalist Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance), who also serves as McDaniel’s vocal mentor.

“Creating a massive, sweeping power metal epic has been a dream since before we even formed this band. This album represents our collective experience, skill, hopes, and dreams as musicians,” says the band.

The record showcases the band’s evolution since their earlier EPs, with more complex arrangements, expanded vocal range, and orchestration that heightens the album’s cinematic scope. Each track stands alone as a powerful metal anthem, yet together they form a cohesive narrative journey.

Their writing process is uniquely collaborative; every member contributes to the story and the music, resulting in songs that carry the DNA of the entire band. This approach, while unconventional, has become one of their greatest strengths.

Recommended for fans of Wind Rose, Hammerfall, Sabaton, Blind Guardian, and Iron Maiden, “Becoming the Dragon” is due out on March 27, 2026 and available for pre-order / pre-save at the following link:

“It gives me great pleasure to tell you that Creation’s Call is a blast. Siege Perilous has succeeded in creating what I would call Epic Power Metal for the Working Man. They don’t waste your time with overlong symphonic interludes between tracks, melodramatic narration, or overproduction that tests the limits of your sanity. The band gets right to the point and pulls you into their epic tales of heroic daring immediately. This is a nice breath of fresh air and if this EP is anything to go by, Siege Perilous has a great future ahead of them. Yes, this could be considered power metal but the no-nonsense approach and urgency to the songwriting makes this release absolutely worth checking out for those of us in the NWOTHM scene. Plus, it’s really just a lot of fun. This one is highly recommended. THENWOTHM SCORE: 9/10” – The NWOTHM

“‘Creation’s Call’ never gets boring, even on Heavy Rotation. Five gifted musicians have succeeded in creating a varied EP. The twin guitar solos are convincing the whole time. It’s just a shame that it ends after twenty-one minutes. It makes you wish for a full-length album. And, of course, a thrilling live performance. 9.3/10” – Metalheads Forever Magazine

“solid power metal style that should satiate any LARP-attendees or Dungeons and Dragons mavens. Keep an eye on this quintet – wield thy sword as they lead the battle charge for more quality power metal from the states. 8/10” – Dead Rhetoric

“There are any number of quality bands like Siege Perilous active right now but the style is popular (and I love it) and these guys are as decent as the next similar act. They lean more the Metal side of the equation using the folk and orchestral moments as flavour, not the main style. CREATION’S CALL is a fine effort and I could easily see them on tour with Brothers Of Metal, All For Metal, Fellowship and other costumed Metal heroes. Worth checking out!” 4/5 – Metal Rules

“Denver metal mob reckon that their goal on “Creation’s Call” was to build a world and tell a story in “three to five minutes.” It’s a world of fantasy, as “Oathsworn” proves, where metal rules and swords are held high. “Across The Rubicon,” however, is delivered with such skill that you can’t resist getting sucked in with them. Shaughnessy McDaniel has a brilliant “metal” voice, roaring on “Sons Of The Verdant,” and guitar duo Scott Hancock and Cody Martinez can knock out a NWOBHM riff like it’s 1982, as the title song underlines. “Brothers Of Five” brings the epic one last time, galloping in proper fashion, and it’ll be interesting to see how Siege Perilous develops. This is one hell of an opening statement, mind you. 8.5/10” – Maximum Volume Music

“Creation’s Call not only highlights Siege Perilous’ dedication to epic storytelling but also emphasises their versatility within the power metal genre. With influences ranging from historical events to high fantasy, this EP offers a rich and varied auditory experience that will captivate fans. Prepare to embark on a grand journey through myth and history as Siege Perilous delivers their latest saga.” – Amplify The Noise

“Creation’s Call it is a cohesive and well-crafted work, where the combination of rich letters in history and fantasy, with a meticulous musical execution, it makes mandatory, regardless of its short duration. [82%]” – Via Nocturna

“Creation’s Call doesn’t get boring even in heavy rotation. Five gifted musicians have created a varied EP. The solos of the twin guitars are convincing across the board. It’s just a shame that it’s over after twenty-one minutes. You want a full-length album. And of course a sweaty live performance. 9.4/10” – Keep On Rocking

“Colorfully mixed NWOTHM/Epic Heavy/Power Metal elixir that appeals to a broad range of fans between ALESTORM, BATTLEROAR, ETERNAL CHAMPION, GATEKEEPER, IRON MAIDEN, RUNNING WILD and WRATHBLADE. Awakens a huge appetite for a full long-play album. On this EP you can clearly see that the band has enormous potential and has already given a great taste of their skills. Conclusion: Strong-looking genretobak that falls out of the usual range! 8,5/10” – FFM-Rock

““Oathsworn” simply explodes out of the gate. The band ratchets every possible dial up to 11 and charges into battle with an epic statement of intent.” – Nine Circles

““Brothers Of The Five” offers classic power metal as you would appreciate it. The strain on the neck muscles is correspondingly high and in some places the number cannot deny a slight Maiden stable smell.” – Hellfire Magazin

Australian rock visionaries IMPERATORE return with the first single “Be A Man”, taken from their upcoming album “The Lionspirit“, due out on December 19th, 2025, via Rockshots Records. The song is released together with its official music video, introducing the core concept behind the album – a call to courage, resiliency, and self-mastery.

Blending heavy rock, progressive metal, and operatic grandeur, “Be A Man” stands as a powerful anthem of inner rebirth. Driven by amazing vocals, cinematic orchestrations, and uplifting melodies, the track embodies Imperatore’s distinctive sound – emotional, epic, and deeply reflective. Its lyrics invite listeners to confront fear, embrace authenticity, and rediscover the strength within, echoing the Stoic philosophy that inspired the entire record.

Founder Zoran Cunjack explains:

“Be A Man is about facing your inner fears and reclaiming your strength. True courage isn’t found in the world outside but in mastering your own mind and spirit. It’s a song about standing tall – not just as a man but as a human being who refuses to give up.”

“Be A Man” marks the beginning of Imperatore’s next chapter – a blend of cinematic power and operatic emotion that defines the band’s evolving sound. Produced by Zoran Cunjack, recorded and mixed by Rodion Farafontov, and mastered by Simon Jovanovic, the track sets the tone for what promises to be Imperatore’s most ambitious work to date.

BIOGRAPHY:

IMPERATORE is a rock and metal band from Perth, Australia, blending the power of heavy riffs, progressive structures, and operatic emotion into a cinematic sound that’s both modern and timeless. Founded in 2022 by Zoran Cunjack, Imperatore was born from a vision to unite the strength of metal with the grandeur of classical and symphonic music, creating an experience that transcends genre boundaries.

The project began as a creative outlet for Zoran’s compositions and quickly evolved into a full-fledged band featuring Daniel Marijanovic on bass and Sean Allsopp on drums, with occasional guest contributions such as Leon Todd on lead guitar. The sound is epic, dramatic, and profoundly emotional – one that evokes the storytelling power of opera while retaining the intensity of modern metal.

In 2023, Imperatore released their self-titled debut album “Imperatore“, which received critical acclaim and a nomination for Song of the Year by West Australian Music (WAM). The album established their trademark blend of symphonic rock and theatrical metal, earning praise for its originality and depth.

A year later, the band followed with “Nations, Rise!” (2024), a record that expanded their symphonic and conceptual direction while reinforcing the philosophical dimension of their music. With their third release, “The Lionspirit” (2025), Imperatore takes a bold creative step forward – combining metal energy, orchestral power, and Stoic-inspired themes into an emotionally charged journey through courage, endurance, and self-mastery.

The band’s live performances amplify this vision through immersive visuals and cinematic projections that transform each show into a full sensory experience. With its unique fusion of rock, opera, and philosophy, Imperatore stands as one of the most distinctive voices in today’s metal scene, appealing to fans of Nightwish, Kamelot, Symphony X, Powerwolf, and Queen.

Out Now! DYING AWKWARD ANGEL’s New Album “The Missing Frame” Explores the Edge Between Reality and Nightmare

New Album “The Missing Frame” Out August 22nd, 2025 via Rockshots Records

Italian melodic death metallers Dying Awkward Angel return today, August 22nd, 2025, with their most intense and uncompromising work to date, the new full-length album “The Missing Frame“, released via Rockshots Records.

Formed in 1998 in the underground metal scene of Turin by guitarist and main composer Edoardo Demuro, the band forged its style drawing from the Gothenburg melodeath wave (In Flames, At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity) and the aggression of American thrash and death metal, adding its own unmistakable Italian touch. Over the years, they have shared the stage with Decapitated, Impaled Nazarene, Necronomicon, Forgotten Tomb, Node, and many more, building a solid reputation for their visceral and high-energy live shows.

“The Missing Frame” follows the critically acclaimed “Absence Of Light” (2018) and was anticipated by the singles “Music Kills” and “9.99”. Written during a period of renewed creative focus, the album is faster, heavier, and more deliberate, the result of what the band calls “a brutal and honest cooperation between us all.”

Lyrically, the record delves into themes of duality, good and evil, instinct and control, reality and illusion, often drawing from deeply personal experiences, stories, and nightmares of the band members. Tracks like “9.99” question the value of human life, while “Music Kills” explores the double-edged power of music itself.

Musically, the album delivers the cold precision of Swedish melodic death metal combined with the raw energy of American metal, all with a modern and direct production approach. “Don’t expect what you expect. Expect what you don’t,” the band warns.

Recorded at Bottleneck Studios in Turin and produced by the band, “The Missing Frame” is an album that stays true to the band’s roots while pushing their boundaries further than ever before.

Coinciding with the album’s release, the band unveils their newest music video for the track “The Inner Paradox”, a haunting allegory of deep depression. It portrays a layered prison that might almost seem bearable, if not for the grim reality that the world beyond its walls is even more harrowing.

ABOUT:

Dying Awkward Angel
is an Italian melodic death metal band formed in 1998 by guitarist Edoardo Demuro and drummer Ivan Longo. Influenced by the ferocity and melody of the ‘90s extreme metal scene—drawing from the Gothenburg sound as well as UK and US death and thrash metal—the band quickly developed a distinctive style that blends raw aggression, dark atmospheres, and introspective lyricism.

After two well-received demos (Dying Awkward Angel, 200,2, and Ghost at the Spine, 2004), the band released their first full-length “Waiting for Punishment” in 2013, followed by the EP “Madness Rising” (2015), showcasing a more mature and dynamic approach to songwriting. In 2018, Dying Awkward Angel released “Absence of Light” through Rockshots Records / Extreme Metal Music, gaining praise from international press and expanding their reach across Europe, the USA, and Japan.

Having shared the stage with acts like Decapitated, Impaled Nazarene, Necronomicon, Forgotten Tomb, Keno,s and Node, the band is known for delivering uncompromising live performances and intense musicality.

In 2024 and 2025, the singles “The Magical World of the Dead“, “Music Kills“, and “9.99” marked the band’s powerful return, leading up to the release of their new album “The Missing Frame“, due out on August 22nd, 2025, via Rockshots Records. This new chapter reflects a more focused and violent sonic identity—one that remains faithful to the Swedish melodeath tradition while embracing a darker, more deliberate production.

Meshing styles like post-metal, gothic/doom, punk, post-hardcore/screamo, post-rock, shoegaze, black/death metal, and alternative rock, Italian experimental metal outfit SVNTH‘s fourth studio album, “Pink Noise Youth,” is ready for its coronation on April 18th, 2025, via These Hands Melt Records.

Before it officially unleashes digitally and physically (CD / Vinyl), SVNTH has teamed up with Decibel Magazine for the album’s full-stream premiere, which can be heard HERE.

The band comments on the release of “Pink Noise Youth”:

“If the previous record Spring in Blue was about facing life’s struggles from a childhood perspective, Pink Noise Youth is based on exploring awareness as an adult in late youth, trying to give a voice to a generation emotionally unstable and chaotic as pink noise. It is the second part of the band’s own “trilogy of colors”. Musically, we intended to stay outside of genres and labels where elements of hardcore, metal, shoegaze, post-rock, and unconventional instrumentation such as electric indian sitar, classical, and 12-string guitars are blended in the same pot. People will surely welcome it with curiosity.”

Vocalist and bassist Rodolfo Ciuffo adds:

“Lyrically, most of the inspiration comes from personal life events, relationships, and conversations with people and reflections about existential topics; in several cases, it also comes from movies and books.”

Following SVNTH‘s 2020 “Spring in Blue”, “Pink Noise Youth” demonstrates the band’s continued evolution, deliberately transcending genre boundaries. The album promises to take listeners on a cohesive journey through its carefully crafted track sequence, maintaining the band’s tradition of creating conceptually unified works. The music from SVNTH has always aimed to give the listener emotional vibes. This record, in particular, is conceptually based on exploring late youth emotions, and the music created reflects such instability.

Recommended for fans of Deafheaven, Alcest, and Agalloch, “Pink Noise Youth” is due out on April 18, 2025, on Vinyl, CD, and Digital via These Hands Melt Records and is available for pre-order / pre-save at https://lnk.to/SVNTH

About:

With a various background of musical influences and artistic inspirations, SVNTH (written all caps and pronounced “Seventh”, formerly “Seventh Genocide”) from Rome, Italy has been shaping a unique equilibrium of sounds through the years moving across a huge variety of directions on the palette of contemporary alternative music to create a distinctive soundtrack for inner emotions, life scenarios, and existentialist questioning. Expanding the energy of black and post-metal over the mellow and contemplative boundaries of shoegaze, art pop, and cinematic post-rock.

From the vivid early black gaze melodies of the debut “Breeze of Memories” (2015) to the long song structures with acoustic overtures and Godspeed You! Black Emperor inspired sections of the monumental “Toward Akina” (2017); SVNTH confirms this more complex approach on the double LP “Spring in Blue” (2020), the childhood chapter of a trilogy of colors based on emotions in different phases of life.

The upcoming “Pink Noise Youth” (2025) gets back to a more traditional song format, introducing a unique use of Indian sitar, and an array of acoustic instruments and singing expressions, which develops SVNTH to a one-of-a-kind sound and personality.

As of today, the band has done several tours and single shows all over Europe and in the USA touching even non-frequently toured countries such as Albania and Turkey and performing at notable festivals like Rockstadt and Frantic Fest, bringing a defining cathartic live energy.

“Do you dig blackgaze, in the vein of Deafheaven and Alcest? What about post-hardcore? What about a mixture of the two?! Well my dears, you’re in a bit of luck, because the Italian experimental band Svnth just released their new single “Cinnamon Moon.” Give it a lil listen” – Metal Sucks

“This is not music that settles into one feeling; it is an album that lives in the tension between them, where grief fuels rebellion, where pain and resilience are inseparable, and where every song feels like a battle between destruction and redemption. In the end, it does not leave the listener broken, but neither does it offer false comfort. It does not promise that everything will be okay, but it does promise that the struggle is worth something. It is an album that carries both the weight of sorrow and the fire of defiance, the burden of grief and the light of something that refuses to die. 9/10″ – Metal-Temple (2025 – Pink Noise Youth)

“SVNTH‘s penchant for stylistic amalgamation and intra-song change is revealed again in “Narrow, Narrow“. In its opening phase a lilting guitar gently and mysteriously rings, gilded in reverb, eventually paired with a gritty and growling bass chewing gravel way down below. It’s an entrancing but still somewhat menacing overture, but you can begin to feel the intensity and turmoil build as that phase evolves and the music in the upper reaches begins to swarm and sear and the drums start hammering. And then, with the briefest pause, the band shift, and charge. As the rhythm section surges, the guitars still brilliantly ring but pulsate like hot blood in the veins, and the vocals are even more scorching. The bassist seizes attention here, but so do the vocals as they change to mid-ranging singing with a gloomy cast. Yet the fiery race resumes, fierce but also stricken, and then accelerates even more. The guitars writhe and wail; the somber but soulful singing returns; the bass fervently throbs; the screams join in; keyboards ring as if yearning; and the music builds to a distressing finale. Considered in the context of the new album’s conceptual theme, it channels (at least to this writer) senses of wistfulness and remembrance, but also of loss and grief, and a kind of rage over the unfairness of losing something or someone that can’t be recovered, and can’t be explained as anything that makes sense.” – No Clean Singing

“This is arguably SVNTH’s defining effort to date, and will hopefully see them gain a foothold within the scene at large…” – Distorted Sound Magazine (2020 – Spring in Blue)

“SVNTH sets out in hopes of bridging the rift of a jealous god, welding genres into music that can appeal to all sensibilities, without sacrificing integrity (or intensity)” – Toilet ov Hell (2020 – Spring in Blue)

“”Distortions, speed and sinister atmosphere as the tradition black imposes but also delicate chiselations from which a light filters that suggests possible trajectories capable of questioning the dictatorship of matter, Spring in Blue is an album that is not afraid to face the recognized columns of Ercole gender and to push it far beyond 8.5/10” – Grind On The Road

“an interesting take on black metal, delving deeper into psychedelia and post-rock influences on new EP SVNTH. Though the tremolo-picked guitar playing and blast beats accompanied by howled screams still remain, they are met with shimmering melodies, ambient stretches and Pink Floyd-esque guitars.” – Decibel Magazine (2018 – EP SVNTH)

Montreal, QC – January 31, 2025

Canada’s SWEETBEAST New Music Video Calls Out All The Superficial “Plastic People”

Debut Album “Illusions” Out Feb 21st, 2025

L-R – Eric Gorzynski – Vocals/Guitar, Alex Graham – Backup Vocals/Bass, Colton Schofield – Drums, John Hermary – Vocals/Guitar

Kelowna, BC, Canada’s SweetBeast has a new music video to share for the track “Plastic People” in the lead-up to their forthcoming debut album “Illusions” out late February 2025. This is the third single the band is revealing off the record to follow songs “Illusion” ft. Space Queen” and “Dream Eater”.

SweetBeast explains “Plastic People”:

“This track critiques the superficiality of modern society, particularly the harmful effects of social media on mental health. With lines like “effects and filters, digital weapons,” the song highlights how the endless stream of digitally altered images fuels feelings of inadequacy, especially in women. This cycle of comparison can lead to doom scrolling, depression, and even suicide, stripping away authenticity and turning people into hollow, “plastic” versions of themselves. By raising awareness of these devastating effects, the song encourages self-reflection and contrasts inner beauty with the hollowness of curated personas.”

Watch and listen to the music video for “Plastic People” at https://youtu.be/by6W1-pNhE8

Spotify – https://spoti.fi/3Q0p0GS

SweetBeast‘s first full-length “Illusions” is a sonic exploration of shifting realities, blending heavy, distorted riffs with introspective lyrics. It invites listeners to journey inward and outward, reflecting the complex relationship between mind, sound, and reality. The record leans heavily on low-tuned guitars, swirling effects, and a tight rhythm section that creates a dense, atmospheric sound. There’s a hypnotic groove throughout, with moments of psychedelic exploration, where riffs evolve into mind-bending progressions. The songs fluctuate between creative riffs and light, airy melodies that offer a contrast, pushing the boundaries of stoner rock.

“We believe our fans will really connect with our debut album. The mix of heavy, low-tuned guitars and melodic, psychedelic riffs captures the essence of our live performances, which our audience already loves. With this album and its singles, we’re aiming to give fans a fully immersive listening experience. We want them to feel transported by the deep, heavy grooves and layered, psychedelic soundscapes as if they’re on a journey through the mind or some otherworldly place. Each track is designed to pull the listener in with dynamic shifts, powerful riffs, and moments of reflection, creating a balance between intensity and space. We hope the singles offer a taste of this experience, sparking curiosity for the full album, which will be best enjoyed as a cohesive journey from start to finish. We’re excited to see how they embrace it.” adds the band.

Recommended for fans of Queens Of The Stone Age, All Them Witches, Kyuss, and Alice In Chains, SweetBeast‘s album “Illusions” is due out on February 21st, 2025 from Humalien Records, and will be available for pre-order at https://sweetbeastrock.bandcamp.com/

“The record (Illusions) is characterized by heavy grooves, memorable licks, and catchy, heavy, doomy goodness. Any lovers of the groove will definitely be fans of this one.” – Decibel Magazine

“Grungy heavy rock with fuzzy psychedelic twists win the day in ‘Illusions’ (2025), tapping a similar vein to bands like Queens Of The Stone Age, Stone Temple Pilots, All Them Witches, Kyuss, and Alice In Chains. While standing distinctly on their own turf, SweetBeast dishes out addictive grooves and punchy lyrical moments.” – Doomed and Stoned

“How about some brand new heavy-duty stoner rock?! The new single “Dream Eater” from SweetBeast is pretty amazing. “Dream Eater” meanders and bubbles beneath the surface until erupting with a wicked heavy solo and then falls back to its broody state. All in all, it’s a psychedelic journey that you won’t want to miss” – WJOE – Findlay’s Home for Rock & Roll

“SweetBeast creates tunes akin to an acid trip in the 70s — ideal for headbanging and perfect for getting lost in.” – Kelowna Now

“Making their first appearance on stage in Vancouver after making the trek from Kelowna, something I always appreciate. Shows the band believes they have something more people need to hear and are willing to live the road life to spread their sound. With this confidence comes a great live show, exactly what we got last night. Still grooving in the stoner/psych rock vein, SB leaned into the psychedelic direction a little more. Some great damn rock songs in here lead by a great singer armed with a voice that fit the vibe/sound so well. Fuzz heavy guitars shredding away and more than a few great little solos gave this set its flavor. Got some heavy 70’s era psychedelic vibes with all the wonderful squeals and squeaks coming from them. Just beautiful. Far and away though, the sexiest part of this offering were those drums. With the drummer exuding confidence in their ability, they gave us a great set full of wonderful licks and fills. Always in command on each song they were a blast to watch, full of fun grooves to dance to.” – Elder God Productions (Live Review – RED GATE 22/11/03 – Vancouver)

Emerging metal act Heteromorphic Zoo, from Victoria, BC, Canada, is set to captivate audiences with their debut EP “New World”, produced by Chris Wiseman (Shadow of Intent, Currents) plus mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy). Coinciding with the EP launch, the band has unveiled the music video for their single “Ritual of Fidelity”, which they comment on:

“This song is about an ancient power awakening within a great tomb, filled with monsters. The leaders declare their loyalty (or fidelity) to the overlord. Musically, the actual “ritual of fidelity” takes place in the middle of the song. It’s a classical 3-voice fugue between the violin, lead guitar, and rhythm guitars + bass with a subject, tonal response, 2 counter subjects, and everything. Of course, it’s not a pure fugue since other instruments are also playing, but that’s the skeleton of it, and the callback to an old baroque form brings out the ritualistic nature of the song.”

“Ritual of Fidelity”
has a memorable lead guitar melody during its chorus, chuggy yet melodic verse riffs, and an overall more neoclassical sound. The violin is fairly subdued and in the background until the moment of the ritual fugue, since that moment is meant to introduce it to the listener for the first time.

Born from a desire to create “Worship Music for Monsters”, Heteromorphic Zoo‘s five-track EP showcases a diverse and extreme sound that pushes the boundaries of modern metal. Lyrically, “New World” tells the story of a grand alliance of monstrous beings invading a new realm, with perspectives shifting between the monsters, their overlord, and their enemies. The band’s innovative approach combines groove and melody, intricate riffs, and powerful breakdowns, resulting in a sonic experience that defies easy categorization. They are recommended for fans of In Flames, Within the Ruins, and Ne Obliviscaris.

““Napalm” is indeed fiery, but at its core it’s a jackhammer fest that will loosen your teeth and disjoint your spine, accompanied by utterly deranged vocals that sound like a fight between bull elephants, howler monkeys, and a pack of demons that just escaped Hell. Oh, but there’s more! Exotic melodies spin through all the bombs dropping and the jackhammers busting up granite, and a violin takes the exultant soloing role, elevating the music to head-spinning glory.” – No Clean Singing

Out Now! CHAIN CODE’s Spacey, Progressive Debut Album “Synthetic Outcomes”

“Synthetic Outcomes” Out Oct 1st, 2024

Chain Code, the progressive rock project from Milwaukee, USA, is now officially reeling their debut album, “Synthetic Outcomes”, which will hurtle listeners through time and space as they go on a sonic journey through a dystopian future where technology has overtaken humanity, blending complex melodies, dissonant chords, and thought-provoking lyrics into a cohesive and immersive experience. Mastermind MuRphry shares his thoughts on the album:

“I am pleased to finally unleash this labor of love. I started this project in 2022 and manically wrote two albums, fixated on creating paranoid yet beautiful progressive rock to express my enjoyment of dystopian science fiction that sees humanity losing its very essence to machines. The initial point musically was to have Adrian Belew join Voivod in my bizarro musical mind. I encourage any weirdo to put on a set of headphones and take a trip to our future with the chaotic elegance that is Chain Code!”

Each track on the concept album offers a unique perspective on the overarching theme of the consequences of humanity’s overreliance on technology. From the frantic energy of the opening track “Human(kind of)” to the haunting beauty of “In Line” Chain Code masterfully balances chaos and harmony, creating a sound that is both challenging and rewarding.

“Synthetic Outcomes” invites listeners to immerse themselves in a world where technology has the upper hand, but the future is still uncertain. It is recommended for fans of progressive rock, sci-fi themes, King Crimson, and Talking Heads.

“the new track (In Line) is a bold musical statement with one foot in modern progressive technical musical prowess, but with eye on the class and lyricism of the distant past greats of the genre.” – Ghost Cult Magazine

“Progressive rock fans, get ready to be captivated by the latest offering from Chain Code, a unique and complex solo project led by the enigmatic MuRphry who channels his love for prog rock and sci-fi into a potent sonic experience… ‘A New Face’ is a short, yet windy, frantic, and complex song that is as unpredictable as it is catchy.” – The ProgSpace

“If System of the Down and Primus had a child, that child would sound like the debut single “A New Face” from Chain Code… With a unique blend of melody, dissonance, and intricately stringed arrangements, Chain Code is set to spin progressive rock on its head not only with their debut single but also with their debut album Synthetic Outcomes” – Amplify The Noise

“As debut albums come, Synthetic Outcomes is quite exceptional… Keep an eye open for this captivating artist, and beware of our computer overlords that are just around the corner waiting to take over for good.” – Disagreemeent.nl

“US band Chain Code are out with the album “Synthetic Outcomes”, and progressive metal is the style explored on this production. That being said, a lot of the heart and the soul of this band appears to revolve around aesthetics from the 1970s, and then from more expressive bands from the progressive rock tradition back then. With plenty of references to King Crimson, possibly also Gentle Giant, and if you know about a band from that era that played around with avantgarde tendencies and whimsical attitudes there’s a good chance that you’ll encounter references in that line too. With a bit of a theatrical display in the vocals department to boot, and some of the flamboyant aspects from the symphonic progressive rock tradition added as a bit of a subtle seasoning. But the band have chosen to explore those landscapes in a metal guise. An understated one at that, but still with metal rather than prog as the expression and orientation of choice. An album to seek out if the idea of exploring expressive 1970s progressive rock in a metal guise strikes you as an appealing proposition.” – Progressor
