THRONE OF VENGEANCE Post Live Video From Calgary Metal Fest + Performing Alberta Festival Dates (Aug 29, 30, 31)

Earlier this summer, Throne of Vengeance had the honour of performing at this year’s Calgary Metal fest kickoff party where they recorded live video playing their track ‘Hands Tied’ to share with fans.

“‘We wanted to do a live show music video to give people a taste of TOV on stage and thought what better time to do it than during Calgary Metalfest?! The crazies come out in force and mosh pits rage for the better part of a week! If you ever had doubts about the local metal scene, this was a Wednesday. I also like to mention, we chose ‘Hands Tied’ as it’s a song close to our hearts that is loosely based on a close friends imprisonment for a victimless crime. It talks of the corrupt ways our judicial system torments and beats souls senseless.” comments drummer Trevor Cobb.

This week, Throne of Vengeance will be performing Alberta Festival dates at The Lethbridge Dethfest on August 29th, Beaverfest on August 30th and Alberta’s Own on August 31st. During their fest dates, TOV will be sharing the stage with fellow Canuck metal bands Golers, Death Toll Rising, Kryosphere, Comeback Kid, Protest The Hero, Nightseeker, Striker, The Wild! and Titans Eve.

Winnipeg, MB death doom metal band Psychotic Gardening has unleashed a very dark music video for one of their doom-iest tracks ‘Searing Cital’ from their latest album ‘Hymnosis’, which the band is touring Ontario and Quebec in support of from August 14th to August 24th.

Guitarist Andrew Wiens comments:

“This video came together spontaneously – we came across this really creepy scene on our way out to Farmageddon in Alberta earlier this year. There were these dead trees decorated with skulls, it was a just this strange place in a farmer’s field. It was seemingly there to worship death. I had to get out with my camera to shoot as much of it as possible. We felt like we were pushing to get anything at all and that a crazy murderous freak would come out at any moment to add our own skulls to the trees. We ended up shooting a storyline that tells the story of what we saw there and what it could mean. And of course we did it to the doom-iest of all the songs on the new album, Searing Cital.”

As interests in history, paganism and folklore took an increasingly strong hold on folk metallers PROTOKULT, the band was inspired to unleash its debut album, Ancestral Anthems. It’s a triple threat weekend for punk, zombie, rock n rollers Kill Matilda as the Vancouver, BC exports now residing in Toronto, ON will be performing at NXNE on June 19th at The Hideout in Toronto, followed by Spring Music Fest in Hamilton on June 20th at The Underground to wrap up the pursuit of a zombie free province back in Toronto at Hard Luck Bar on June 21st opening for Guttermouth.

All survivors must come to the Hideout in Toronto on June 19th or to the Underground in Hamilton June 20th for specialized zombie-killing training courtesy of Kill Matilda. ‘Mordrake’ is now available on iTunes and Bandcamp with a limited edition Hate T-Shirt designed by Bob Skelton, the acclaimed airbrush artist responsible for the band’s corpse-paint. Produced at Uplift Studios by Kevin Jardine (Slaves On Dope) and co-produced by Dan Lauzon (Entropy) and Hollow, the debut is the follow up to the band’s 2010 EP ‘Cynoptic Eschaton’ and features 12 extreme tracks all recorded with an unique analogue approach. Without the use of any triggers, midi or copy/paste editing, the album showcases live off the floor performances that bring a breath of fresh air into an over-compressed and digital world of today’s recordings. Since 2009, Hollow has been conquering audiences across Québec and Ontario with their unique look and high-energy stage performances, which has seen them perform at festivals such as Heavy MTL and Trois Rivieres Metal Fest plus share the stage with names such as Voivod, Suffocation, Sword, Jungle Rot, Blackguard, The Agonist,1349, Tyr, Orphaned Land, Aborted, Augury and many more.
