CDN Records has just unleashed Canadian thrashers Korrosive’s latest album “Toxic Apokalypse” on CD, which is available at https://cdnrecords.com/shop/korrosive-toxic-apokalypse/. The full-length was released digitally on October 7th of this year. and will also be available on cassette and vinyl in 2023 with its release to be determined at a later date.

Korrosive is an unapologetic, and high-octane headbanging unit that has crushed many mosh pits around their hometown of Toronto, ON, and beyond having shared the stage supporting well-known acts such as Havok, Venom Inc., Narcotic Wasteland, Voivod, Exciter, and Accept.

Korrosive is known for pushing the boundaries with its roots in thrash and meshing elements from more extreme metal such as death and grind to break down wall after wall that enters their path.

On Korrosive‘s new Album “Toxic Apokalypse”, fans new and old alike, can feel the aural brute-de-force on the eight-track blitz of pounding headbanging fury. Even though each song on the album is quite different in a way from the others, it’s all uniquely Korrosive. Songs deal with topics of science fiction, armageddon, and “what if” scenarios. For each track on the record, the band pushes them to new levels of velocity and extremity, from ‘Fatal Strike’, which has a ton of blast beats and solos, yet is still unmistakably thrash, to ‘Radioaktive Scourge’, filled with pure aggression, unlike anything they’ve released before. From its speed, the lyrics, and the sheer intensity, this song may be the shortest track on the record, but makes the largest impact and it’s over before you know it. And also strongly recommended is ‘Hail the Hellfire’, perhaps the band’s anthem to the entire “Toxic Apokalypse” album. Written as a reflection of the period when the full-length was being composed, this track discusses the brutality of war and the end result of each and every individual involved in its cause, regardless of side.

The band adds:

“We think the fans will be in for quite a surprise. We literally went all out and pushed the limits. It’s a diabolical, fast, unforgiving armageddon. From slow passages, mid-tempo bangers, hyper-fast blast beats, and the occasional odd-time signature, it’s a ride in extreme thrash unlike anything before. Toxic Apokalypse is an album that will hit you hard, fast, and leave you with a ‘what the f*ck just happened?’ feeling.”

Recommended for fans of Sodom, Kreator, Death, and Sepultura, “Toxic Apokalypse” was produced by Ben Erikson with mastering done by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Kreator, Cro-Mags, Municipal Waste, Soulfly). The album artwork was created by the infamous Ed Repka (Dark Angel, Death, Hirax, Megadeth, Suicidal Angels, Venom).

“If you like your thrash metal with a little San Francisco and a nice helping of Germany, then this is the album for you. “Toxic Apokalypse” is already out on CDN Records from Canada and it’s a must for any metal fan who likes it hard, nasty, and ripping off heads! This is easily in my top five metal albums of 2022.” – Pete Altieri, Murder Metal Mayhem

“It’s an album which is relentless, something that any self-respecting thrash fan would want. And yet, there is some balance to the album. It’s paced well, with the tempo picking up again at the tail end of the album” – UK Thrashers

Canadian thrashers Korrosive announce they will be unleashing CDs, cassettes and vinyl of their latest album “Toxic Apokalypse” via CDN Records. CDs will be due out on November 18th, with cassettes and vinyl for release in 2023 (release to be announced at a later date). The full-length was released digitally on October 7th of this year.

Korrosive is from Toronto, ON that is in your face, unapologetic, and is definitely one that offers a high-octane headbanging experience, unlike anything you’ve heard before as they explore and push the boundaries of thrash metal with extreme influences.

“We want to be a thrash metal band that combines the elements of thrash in its roots, but also breaks down walls by incorporating various influences from grind and death, or whatever comes to mind to mix it up.” says vocalist Rad Zarei.

Their new album “Toxic Apokalypse” follows their first full-length 2021’s “Kaustic Hordes” and the 2019 EP “Melting from Within”. Featuring eight assaulting bangers, each song on the album is quite different in a way from each other, and yet, still uniquely Korrosive. They push each track with speed and extremity, from ‘Fatal Strike’ that has a ton of blast beats and solos, yet is still unmistakably thrash, to ‘Radioaktive Scourge’, filled with pure aggression, unlike anything they’ve released before.

“Diabolical, fast, unforgiving armageddon.

Lyrically, the music sets the overall tone for how the lyrics are written and substance. Songs deal with topics of science fiction, armageddon, and “what if” scenarios. The album art was created by the infamous Ed Repka (Dark Angel, Death, Hirax, Megadeth, Suicidal Angels, Venom).

“Typically, the way we write songs is to have each song done or be in the middle of the writing process, and I would create something out of that. It is rare for us that lyrics get written first before the song is made,” adds Zarei.

One thing that the mosh pit can always expect from Korrosive is the energy they bring to their shows.

“I always think of a show, regardless of venue, as a performance that is meant to capture the crowd. And as a band, Korrosive always exudes that level of intensity during our shows.”

Recommended for fans of Sodom, Kreator, Death, and Sepultura, “Toxic Apokalypse” was produced by Ben Erikson with mastering done by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Kreator, Cro-Mags, Municipal Waste, Soulfly).

Calgary, Canada’s most versatile metal band Black Pestilence is now streaming their new album “Hail the Flesh” via Metal Injection. Listen HERE.

The trio is stoked to release their sixth studio album, their most refined and mature record to date. Working hard over the last year and a half, the band has been pounding out their signature blend of black metal, punk, and noise. The result is 9 blistering tracks with fast drums, angry vocals, and an array of synthesized melodies.

Raising hell since 2008, Black Pestilence has reached an apex of refined satanic torment. Band founder, bassist and vocalist Valax adds:

“‘Hail The Flesh’ will be fast, and chaotic. Lyrically, for it, I talk about glorifying the carnal lifestyle and celebrating Earthly pleasures and indulgences. I am inspired by so many different avenues for lyrics. Without sounding too cliche, most of the lyrics are about Satanism, but not on a theistic level, just true, carnal, humanistic Satanism. Many other songs are also about social issues.”

Black Pestilence is for fans interested in Impaled Nazarene, Municipal Waste, and Midnight.

Over the course of twelve years, Black Pestilence has released five full-length albums, filmed four music videos, and performed all over Canada and Europe. They have also shared the stage with a number of notable bands including The Black Dahlia Murder, Toxic Holocaust, Absu, Skeletonwitch, and Wednesday 13.

“Hail the Flesh” will be available on May 1st and is available for pre-order on Bandcamp along with their previous releases.

“A recent discovery that has tickled the excitement nerves in my jaded and encrusted ear drums is Calgary’s Black Pestilence. Their take on black metal incorporates old-school thrash and punk and if you listen closely you can hear the smatterings of plain ol’ rock ‘n’ roll and swaths of noise and is a sound that has been explored and nurtured since the band formed as a one-man project in 2008. The band’s handlers claim those fans of Toxic Holocaust, Impaled Nazarene, Municipal Waste, Midnight and Cradle of Filth unconcerned with genre boundaries will enjoy Black Pestilence and we have to say the nail has certainly been hit on the head in that regard. Additionally, fans of image and theatrics will find value in the band’s aesthetic which owes to a collision of black metal, goth rock and Judas Priest’s wardrobe and fashion sense. ” – Decibel Magazine

“an album that really has a surprisingly wide range within the black/thrash/punk style so if you love that sort of black and roll aggressive metal, then “Hail The Flesh” will be an album for you.” – The Rockpit

“They really don’t have another gear beyond ‘top’ which makes for a splitting headache of heavy but one that satisfies. After all there are only 9 tracks and as Godless spits and snarls, Frauds to the Throne exudes filthy groove, My Will to Power rages hard and Ephemeral drags the suffering out, the over-riding thought is Black Pestilence have impressed.” 8/10 – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“First things first, it’s not every day you hear black metal as fun as this! That is partly because of the exciting thrash and not-so-serious punk influences, but also because the songwriting is very strong. ” 4/ 5 – The Independent Voice

“dirty, punky Black/Thrash that occasionally makes feedback noises and consistently slaughters everything in its path.” 4/5 – The Metal Crypt

“They can smash extremely well, and their blend of black metal aesthetic with punk attitude is a perfect fit ” – 4/5 – Deaf Sparrow

“a musical union of black / thrash & punk that just rock ROCK! I give 9 out of 10 Hellfire points” – Hellfire Magazin

“Bringing a sonic assault to listeners…..” – Permafrost Today

OUT NOW! ADRENECHROME Unleash Their ‘Tales From Adrenechrome’

L-R – Matt Copeland – Drums | Tim Kehoe – Guitar | Mike Van Dyk – Bass | Chris Friesen – Guitar /Vocals  (photo credit Dave Saunders)

Orillia, ON’s Adrenechrome are hurtling forward like zombies with a hunger for flesh looking to create good old-fashioned rock n’ roll infused with groove and peppered with metal. The group features Chris Friesen dominating on guitar and lead vocals, Tim Kehoe who shreds guitar and haunting vocal work, Matt Copeland thrashing the drums, and Mike Van Dyk creating groovy basslines. Their name inspires a frantic, adrenaline fueled misadventure and is a direct reference to a fictional drug in the film “Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas”.

These heavy metal monsters started in 2010 and rode like the four horsemen to devour every audience they could around Canada. Their songwriting swings like an unhinged pendulum between rapid, brief works to heavy, ten-tonne brick tunes. Members are veterans of the music scene, coming from various acts like Gaswitch, Shimmy Rabbits, and The Doug Trucker Band. Live, the band is tight and strictly a “no frills” affair — this means no make up or gimmicks, just straight-forward, kick-ass metal.

The band’s new album ‘Tales From Adrenechrome’ is now officially out as of November 27, 2015 to follow up their 2012 debut ‘Hideous Appetites’ and is their most abstract, spastic, and explosive release to date. This album is established on heavy riffs, roaring drums, smooth bass lines, and wrapped up with lyrical themes that combine personal experience with fantasy, sci fi, and classic literature plus its epic album artwork by graphic artist Clöwnbäbÿ. This album is reserved for only those who can handle the high velocity heavy metal adventure that is Adrenechrome! Picture a hypothetical bastard child of Mastodon and Baroness!

“We are beyond pleased with the warm response “Tales From Adrenechrome” has received and we hope everyone finds it as “fun” a record to listen to, as we found it was to make 🙂 much love all see you out on the road. The chrome boys.” comments vocalist/ guitarist Chris Friesen.

“What starts out as a solid thrash album quickly morphs into a far more interesting, original, and engaging work with strong flavours of Mastodon’s proggy sludge and big riffs.” – Metal Hammer

“each song features a sweaty, aggressive thrash engine that propels the music forward, but the instrumentation is far more skillful and intricate than just straightforward shredding. “Hymn for the Heathens” has a great classic rock feel to it and opener “Titans Fall” does its mythic subject matter proud.” – Exclaim!

“The illustrious list of top quality metal bands to emerge from Canada has just been added to. Adrenechrome take the hard hitting technicality of bands like Realm, the addictive assault of classic thrash and bring it all up to date with a liberal helping of Baroness style, passionate free thinking. It’s a fresh, interesting, exciting combination of sounds that makes new seven track EP Hideous Appetites, well worth going out of your way to track down. Songs like ‘Titan’s Fall’ and ‘Hymn For The Heathens’ combine the immediate appeal of crisp, melodic riffing with a clear longevity, born of their intelligent complexity and diversity. CK 4 /5” – Zero Tolerance Magazine

“Adrenechrome have concocted a winning recipe. This four-piece from Ontario, Canada clearly know their way around thrash’s greats but show no fear in chucking in some modern flair. And I don’t mean crash, bang, wallop, what the hell – you only have to hear the opening riff to ‘Titans Fall’ to get those saliva glands going.” – Metal-Rules.com

“Kudos to the guitars for their mix of heaviness and catchiness, as well as inventive rhythms.” – Metallian

“ADRENECHROME are a highly skilled and technically proficient band musically. The songs rage with great breakdowns yet are also layered with lots of crunch and have some tasty Jazz influenced solos throughout.” – Metal-Temple
