Canada’s WarCall will be dropping two EPs in 2021, their first, “Dead End Pt. 1” will be released on Friday, April 23rd and before it’s officially out, the band has teamed up with Decibel for its full stream premiere HERE.

Melodic and energetic, this four-track EP has a little something for everyone, with influences ranging from old school thrash and death to classic metal and more.

The creation of this EP was unusual for the band, the music was written collaboratively, but the drummer came up with most of the lyrics. He writes about struggle; “Dead End Pt. 1 and 2″ are not concept releases; they are a collection of 9 tales of struggle and how we can overcome them.

Recorded and mixed in a post-apocalyptic setting, the band has let the events of 2020 influence the process and the mood of both EPs, while still aiming for a timeless production that will age well. WarCall has decided to release the first EP, and the other half will be released later this year. They share their thoughts on the recordings:

“We are really proud to release the first EP. It is our best production yet. In terms of songwriting, musicianship, and recording, it represents a step forward in the evolution of the band. Back to being a 4 piece, we focused on writing and arranging songs that emphasize the possibilities they bring.”

The title and artwork represent the doom and gloom of life in the year 2020 and how the human race reacts in the face of death and uncertainty. With the impossibility to meet to even take a band picture, WarCall presents themselves as fictional post-apocalyptic warriors, a subtle comment and nod to the current events that marked the year 2020.

With the modern and crisp production, listeners will be able to enjoy the music of the band as a whole, while being able to focus on each musician’s performance. Whether it is the natural and powerful drums, tight bass, precisely recorded guitars, or the over-the-top vocal performance, each of WarCall’s musicians shine throughout the two EPs to let the music be the main focus.

Fast and dramatic, WarCall is recommended for fans of Dissection, Iron Maiden, and Slayer.

“Dead End Pt. 1” will only be released digitally as of April 23, 2021 via Plan B Music on the following platforms: Warcallmetal.bandcamp.com, Spotify, Apple Music.

About:
War has always been an intrinsic part of humanity. Whether it is huge wars involving entire countries or the small wars we all fight every day to survive, it is fair to say that war has defined humanity.

One of the definite treatises on war is Sun Tzu’s ‘The Art of War’; a book still in print to this very day. On the use of music in war, Sun Tzu writes: “Gongs and drums, banners and flags, are means whereby the ears and eyes of the host may be focussed on one particular point.”

Now, we have WarCall, who not only use drums, but also bass, guitars, and vocals to achieve the same end with their growing army of fans.

Inspired by Iron Maiden, Metallica, Motorhead, Dissection, and Slayer, guitarist Mathieu Simard describes WarCall’s music as “fast, aggressive, melodic, dramatic!”.

Now, with four well-received albums under their bullet-belt (Invaders (2017), III (2015), Blood, Guts, and Dirt (2013), Demonarchy (2008)), this power-quartet will unleash two new EPs in 2021, “Dead End Pt. 1” on April 23rd with “Dead End Pt. 2 expected to follow in the Fall via their own label Plan B Music.

As a whole, the two EPs are a collection of 9 songs, 9 stories about struggles during 2020 (“Dead End Pt. 1” being 4 tracks). The EPs were recorded and mixed in a post-apocalyptic setting. As with every album, “Dead End Pt. 1” and “Dead End Pt. 2” are technically more advanced in terms of songwriting and production. Of course, Warcall has evolved as musicians from each album, but they believe that their total is greater than the sum of its parts, so they play what feels right for the metal.

The band comments:

“We have let the events of 2020 influence the process and the mood of the two EPs, while still aiming for a timeless production that will age well in time. The title and artwork represent the doom and gloom of life in the year 2020 and how the human race reacts in the face of death and uncertainty. With the impossibility to meet to even take a band picture, WarCall presents themselves as fictional post-apocalyptic warriors, a subtle comment and nod to the current events that marked the year 2020.”

Live, post covid times, WarCall will truly give it their all with total authenticity. What you hear on their recordings is what you hear on stage. Energetic, powerful, focused, and proficient performances ready to encourage the circle pit.

WarCall has toured Europe (FR, DE, BE, CZE, SP) three times along with multiple tours across Eastern Canada. They have also been opening support for such bands as Destruction, Anvil, Paul Di’Anno, Kalmah, Catamenia, Impaled Nazarene, Arkona, Norther, Anonymus, Slaves on Dope, Martyr, Reanimator, Wolven Ancestry.

WarCall’s new EP “Dead End Pt. 1” is due out April 23rd, 2021 via Plan B Music.

“Big things are happening for Montreal’s WarCall…Motor-Maiden-‘tallica brand of street wise thrash…” – Decibel Mag

“The creativeness they’ve put into their debut far surpasses anything else I have heard from new Canadian bands this year…Inventive, fun, crisp and a great first offering”. – Exclaim!

“WARCALL’s delivery is fresh, powerful, with good drive and melodies and this tight-knit feeling that just gives you this sense of urgency.” – The Metal Observer

“Actually, “very very heavy” doesn’t go far enough. “Bully Bastard” slugs had enough to loosen teeth and leave bruises, and the grooves are damned compulsive, too, so loosen up your neck muscles before diving into this track. But while the song rocks hard enough to shake listeners like rag dolls, the music also channels rage and intensity through the raw grit of the vocals and the grim (but very catchy) vehemence of the riffs.” – No Clean Singing

“Fans of an old school thrash/speed sound will find plenty to enjoy throughout Invaders. 10 tracks of meaty metal that makes you want to dig out the old patch jacket & head-bang until your neck fuses.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“If you enjoy old school thrash, early speedy rock ‘n’ metal MOTÖRHEAD or DARKTHRONE in their thrashy black metal/crusty punk phase then WARCALL will wet your appetite and get you salivating! Dig out your battle vest, your whitewashed denim jeans, and white trainers and bang that head furiously!” – All About The Rock

“It’s fast, it’s heavy, it’s exciting, and it doesn’t try too hard to be something it’s not, while also knowing exactly what it is. That’s a rare trait to have in a band, and it shows their consistency and maturity as songwriters; you can really tell this is not their first album. The ultimate takeaway here is that WARCALL deserve a lot more attention than what they’re currently getting. I hope to see them take things to the next level on their next full-length.” – Metal Temple

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 25, 2021

For fans of Misfits, Nirvana, Motorhead, Anti-Flag

THE BLOODY HELL Shares Stop-Motion Music Video “When You’re Gone”

Halifax, Canada’s The Bloody Hell has a new full-length in the works to follow their award-nominated 2018 self-titled debut album (Loud Recording of the Year” – Nova Scotia Music Awards 2018), and as they currently work on the sophomore release, they are sharing with fans a new music video for the single “When You’re Gone”.

The band has teamed up once again with stop motion animator Diane Lindo who also did their 2019 video “Out of Our Minds“, which was nominated for an Independent Music Video of The Year Award by Dropoutentertainment.ca.

“When You’re Gone” is a glimpse of what’s to come from the forthcoming, yet to be titled second album. It’s a dark love song that finds hope in a horrible situation, musically reflected with the grit and aggression of classic punk rock but with pop undertones of earworm melodies. The track was recorded at award-winning New Scotland Yard Studio in Dartmouth, NS during the summer of 2020.

The video can be viewed via The Bloody Hell‘s YouTube channel – https://youtu.be/FjE2iDebguY

Formed in 2017, The Bloody Hell has gotten dirtier and more polished at the same time, with the band infecting fans with their pop-cultural hooks and concepts, while the guitars keep getting louder and the vocals becoming uglier.

Suitable for a variety of fans, The Bloody Hell cites influences ranging from Misfits, Nirvana and Motorhead, anyone who enjoys a fun and dirty romp with a bull horn of grungy vocals.

The Bloody Hell‘s previous releases can be found on the following platforms: Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify.

WarCall stands for all the fights we are fighting on a daily basis. It represents the struggle in life, the challenges we have to rise to. We get called to war every day and it is up to us to step up and face our fears. The DIY Canadian quartet heeds this mantra, consistently pushing boundaries with their fast, dramatic metal music. Their forthcoming endeavour, the first of two EPs to be released in 2021, “Dead End Pt. 1” embodies that drive.

The lead single and music video from this EP is “The Chase”, which follows the narrative of vengeance, a man becomes unhealthy and takes pleasure in making his neighbor suffer. He sinks into a bottomless abyss that leads to his own downfall. The band explains their experience creating the song:

“The Chase is straight up, in your face WarCall. It is the last song we wrote and recorded for the album. The video was really fun to shoot, in the few weeks of 2020 when we could have a social life and see each other. Epic day. We played the song live, in the barn, with a real PA and everything. Over the 12 takes, we were really sweaty and exhausted at the end! The actors and the director were really into their roles and the band was following along, beer-drinking and helping the best we could, but mostly, enjoying the day.”

Instead of waiting for a full length to be done, WarCall is releasing two EPs, the first as “Dead End Pt. 1” making it the fifth release from the band, which will be followed up with “Dead End pt. 2” later this year, both were written, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered entirely by the band. The first part is in-your-face, old-school-inspired metal, whereas the second part will be more progressive and atmospheric.

Totally authentic, with a wide range of influences ranging from old school death metal to classic rock, WarCall is recommended for fans of Motorhead, Metallica, and Dissection.

“The Chase” can be heard via its music video premiere on Bravewords HERE.

“Dead End Pt. 1” will only be released digitally on April 23, 2021 via Plan B Music.

The band’s music can be found on Warcallmetal.bandcamp.com, Spotify, Apple Music.

THE BLOODY HELL Question The US Political Climate w/ New Single “Nobody Cares About America Anymore”

Video Premiere via PunkNews

It’s been two years since Halifax, Canada’s The Bloody Hell released their award-nominated (Loud Recording of the Year” – Nova Scotia Music Awards 2018) self-titled debut album and now they are ready to end the apocalypse known as 2020 with a taste of their new single “Nobody Cares About America Anymore”.

Striking deep into the heart of American culture, the new track is a raw force with melodic intensity. It may seem from its title that it’s an attack on not giving concern for their neighbours to the south, but it is the opposite, a political statement, and more of an apathetic and unapologetic denouncement of the modern American political climate. Described by the band as “fast-paced, aggressive and radically indifferent”, The Bloody Hell carves out their spot in the political punk underground with a clear and forceful message “Nobody Cares About America Anymore”.

In support of the single, The Bloody Hell are unleashing a music video that can be viewed via its premiere on PunkNews HERE.

The band adds:

“Whatever happened to peace and love!”

“Nobody Cares About America Anymore” will be available as of December 10th on Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify.

Formed in 2017, The Bloody Hell has gotten dirtier and more polished at the same time, with the band infecting fans with their pop-cultural hooks and concepts, while the guitars keep getting louder and the vocals becoming uglier.

About:
Formed in Montreal in the extremely vibrant metal/hardcore/crossover music scene of the early 1990’s, Homicide was, at the time, an amalgamation of members from other heavy-hitting bands on the scene who had developed strong followings and solid reputations in their own right. Gab Morency of Corrupted Youth (guitar/vocals) and Bryan Donahue of Damaged (guitar) began writing together after discovering that they had similar heavy influences and interests such as Motorhead, Slayer and Venom.

Morency had been renting a room in an extensive apartment building that also housed the jam space of local heavyweights Lizard. This is where the raucous rhythm section of Greg Mcleary (bass) and Scotty MacCulloch (drums) of Lizard heard the riffs from Morency and Donahue and decided that they had to join in on the heaviness that was transpiring.

After a period of only a few weeks, Homicide had begun recording what would be their first album “Malice and Forethought”. This catapulted them into the scene, where they played alongside and held their own with the likes of Voivod, Death, and Merciful Fate just to name a few. These performances granted Homicide a reputation for one of the best live bands performing on the scene with crowd-pleasers such as “Bring Back the Rope” about lax capital punishment policies and “Death Train” giving a nod to the devastation of terrorism in the poison gassing of a Japanese subway line.

With a sound that can be coined as “Apocalyptic Thrash”, Homicide went underground for many years and it was presumed that the band was no longer. However, 2020 brought the band members together again they recorded a new album “Left For Dead” which compared to the first album will be like going from light beer to moonshine. Homicide is back and fully amped to be bringing fast, aggressive to new and old fans around the world.

Homicide’s “Left For Dead” is due out August 21, 2020.

“Produced by Wayne Cochrane (Protest the Hero, Cancer Bats), Left for Dead offers twofold benefits: it’s throwback thrash for the older headbangers from the ’90s, and a how-to manual on this seminal era for the younger generation.” – Exclaim!

“A great old skool thrash album bringing the past to life again. Great production too. Just the right balance between studio and the ‘live’ sound. Very similar to Billy Milano’s Method Of Destruction with hints of Anvil. Lovely.” – Planet Mosh

“They specialize in Old School Crossover Thrash and returning nearly 25 years later with their sophomore album “Left For Dead” they clearly have some unfinished business.” – Metal Noise

“The album is 30 or so minutes of old-school thrash. Bay Area-style thrash is probably a pretty good description… this meat-and-potatoes thrash album should please especially the fans that prefer the sounds of the old school in a simple and loud way.” – The Metal Bulletin

“Homicide are unapologetically old school, delivering ’80s style thrash” – Heavy Music Head Quarters

Unleashing their new album “Ascend To The Throne” this past July via Head Rattle Productions INC., Vancouver’s Saints of Death are sharing with fans their new lyric video for the track “Watching Me Die”. The song is about the destruction of the Earth by corporate greed.

“Watching You, Me, humanity, and Mother Earth die to the hands of unjust corporations and tyrannical governments.” adds the band.

For fans of Pantera, DevilDriver, and Arch Enemy, you can check out Saints of Death’s new lyric video with its double bassist assault via its premiere on TheCirclePit HERE.

Saints of Death
‘s new album “Ascend To The Throne” is a 7 track ripping and cohesive released and the second in the Saints of Death repertoire following the 2015 self-titled EP. With a different lineup than the debut effort, Saints of Death now boasts a more robust group that is tighter, more aggressive, and more melodic than ever before along with still featuring their signature sound of having two bassists.

The band comments:

“This album has been a long time coming, and we look forward to getting it into the ears of our fans, new and old alike. After dealing with line up issues for a few years, we finally have a solid line up and are back to kicking ass. The current line up has been together since 2018 and we have really gelled as friends and as band members. Naturally, with this kind of chemistry going on, it was finally time to record a new album.

Like the first EP, there is diversity between each song, allowing each of them to stand out as hard-hitting singles. There is also the consistency that allows the songs to come together as a great album. We talk about important topics such as the trials of society, corruption and corporate greed, mental health as well as a few other topics on this album. Saints put a lot of hard work and passion crafting this album and making it what it is and we’re excited to share it with the world!”

“Ascend To The Throne” is available on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music.

Unleashing their new album “Ascend To The Throne” this past July via Head Rattle Productions INC., Vancouver’s Saints of Death are sharing with fans their new lyric video for the track “Soldiers of Metal”. The band wrote the song as a tribute to the metal community and all that is metal.

“Inclusion and standing for the great cause. Putting away your prejudice and uniting as a force. A homage to the great bands that paved the way and the bands that will carry the torch.” adds the band.

For fans of Pantera, DevilDriver, and Arch Enemy, you can check out Saints of Death’s new lyric video with its double bassist assault via its premiere on SonicPerspectives HERE.

“SOD is a wise band in extreme metal: if more people hear it, the group will gain more fans due to their efficient songwriting. They manage to make it accessible while keeping the music heavy and brutal. It is death, groove, melodeath, aggro, thrash, and they might convince fans of Pantera, Slipknot, Death and Metallica to gather together joyfully violently in a mosh pit… The songs are big on the beat, and the growling is remarkably intelligible. It is growling but you can understand just about every word from the vocalist giant. If you can imagine the energy of Pantera and Slipknot with a bit more of death metal and a pinch of Motörhead, you could be a new convert to the cause.” – Metal Bulletin

“Your classic Quentin Tarantino b-movie sound track song “You Can’t Run” is another Motorhead inspired ripper that flies along at punk speed with a Metal edge before the call to arms of “Soldiers of Metal“. A lyrical declaration of a love of Heavy Metal of all genres that calls together all fans to stand together, stylistically reminiscent to Anthrax in places that boasts a slick Thrash production, it’s a sure fire winner for the live show.” – Metal Noise

“It’s one helluva good time from start to finish.” – Boston Rock Radio

Halifax punk rockers The Bloody Hell are sharing with fans, especially horror lovers, their latest music video “Last Word”. The video is homage to the great horror films of the 80s and 90s, particularly the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre film. The song itself is probably the most aggressive track off of the band’s 2018 self-titled album with a punchy in your face intro before breaking into a driving blues scale rhythm and punk rock temp. The vocals come in fast with a dominant hook relaying the theme of the song “I’ll get the last word yet”.

The band adds about the video:

“We filmed this music video at the wildly popular Riverbreeze Fear Farm located in Truro, NS, which is a rural family farm that is transformed into an amazing series of haunted houses and corn maze every October. We thought it was the perfect setting for this video so we reached out to the owners and to our delight, they loved the idea. They put so much detail and effort into the esthetic and atmosphere of a truly frightening, yet fun experience, and I feel we did a good job of capturing that vibe on this video while giving a nod to the horror classic of our childhood.”

Watch “Last Word”  HERE.

The single “Last Word” comes from the band’s 2018 self-titled album, which exemplifies their goal to create a fun and interesting listening experience for their fans that is full of twists and turns, highs and lows. They explain what one can expect from their latest album:

“What if all those hooks, melodies and chord structures you love about classic rock where covered in distortion, the lyrics screamed bloody murder and the songs were played at punk rock speed. A Satanic sonic assault on the ears, comprised of concepts covering heartache, substance abuse, death and the occult, drenched in feedback and overflowing with blazing guitar solos.”

Formed in 2017, The Bloody Hell has gotten dirtier and more polished at the same time, with the band having got much better at writing hooks and concepts, while the guitars got louder and the vocals got uglier.

Suitable for a variety of fans, The Bloody Hell cites influences ranging from Misfits, Nirvana, and Motorhead, anyone who enjoys a fun and dirty romp through catchy hooks and grungy vocals.

The Bloody Hell‘s debut self-titled album is available on Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify.

About:

The Bloody Hell is what would happen If George Thorogood sang for the Misfits but all the songs were written by Tom Petty. Super catchy horror rock songs about drinking and heartache played at punk rock speed.

Montreal Thrash HOMICIDE Streaming New Album “Left For Dead”

Premiere Album Stream via MetalInsider

New Album ‘Left For Dead’ Out Friday, August 21st

L-R – Bryan Donahue – Guitar, Mac – Bass, Scotty – Drums, and at bottom Gab – Vocals / Guitar

Montreal’s Homicide has a new album “Left For Dead” that is ready to take the world by storm on August 21st, 2020; the first offering since the band went dark 25 years ago.

What has been coined as “apocalyptic thrash” is coming back for fans and Homicide states it is like the first album, but on steroids. With a considerable amount of experience under their belts, this new album promises to be an instant classic. A no holds barred tour de force. The band shares the premise and musical intricacies behind the single:

“It gets things off to a fine start and is a reminder of just how good the storytelling style of vocalist Gabriel Morency is as he delivers a tale of the wrath of God. Mid-tempo evil chugs keep things going nicely and the riffs pay homage to the Bay Area Thrash scene with a nostalgic tooth gap grin while that whammy bar drop is a nice touch. It’s one of those tracks that cut at a point when it could happily go on for another few minutes and that’s always the hallmark of quality.”

This is the soundtrack for listeners who are looking to conquer the world. Whether you’re driving, working out, or just looking for something to bang your head to, the fast and furious styling of Homicide is going to hit the spot.

All killer and no filler Homicide is suitable for fans of Venom, Exodus, and Motorhead.

Today, the band premiere the album’s full stream via MetalInsider HERE.

Vocalist/guitarist Gabriel Morency adds:

“The album has a very live feel to it. It was done somewhat live. There was a flatbed that was recorded live for this and then it was layered, but not a lot of layers. It’s funny cause we’re in Metal Works studios in Toronto and you know they have done the Rolling Stones, Christina Aguilera, Alexisonfire, Guns n’ Roses. Use Your Illusion was done there. So you sort of figure obviously, we didn’t have the same producers, but you’re going to go there and it’s going to sound kind of packaged or get that kind of commercial sort of metal sound and to the credit the producer (Wayne Cochrane ) was anti. To be honest, I and Bryan, let’s add another layer and another layer. We wanted to get fancy and he was like keep it raw, keep it raw. We sort of found that balance of solid professional production and raw metal sound. Sometimes less is more. When we came in we had the amps cranked and he was like dear God! You guys have a lot of feedback and noise you don’t need. I and Bryan didn’t realize how much buzzing and humming we had. You start cranking pedals and Marshals there’s a lot of noise being made”

About:
Formed in Montreal in the extremely vibrant metal/hardcore/crossover music scene of the early

1990’s, Homicide was, at the time, an amalgamation of members from other heavy-hitting bands on the scene who had developed strong followings and solid reputations in their own right.

Today, the band shares their second single off the full length, “Point Blank Rage”. The track is a classic driving song of raw sounding old school riffs and solos.

Guitarist Bryan Donahue comments:

“Who said the solo was dead? They lied. The lyrics might be simple enough, but they’re crowd fodder for chanting and will go down a storm in that regard.”
