About:

After being on hiatus since 2008, Fayne reformed in 2013 with a renewed hunger and dedication to the Canadian metal scene to deliver a metal sound coupled with melodic, attitude-fueled breakdowns to compliment their high energy performances full of positive vibes, and ridiculously powerful guitar solos. Heavily influenced by bands such as Counterparts, Mastodon, and Periphery, Fayne’s ‘The Queen of Kings’ features a special guest appearance by Misery Signals vocalist Karl Schubach on their track Nomad’s Land plus was produced by guitarist Alex Gonzalez with the help from Alan Douches of West West Side Music (Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, Between the Buried and Me) for the final mastering. The EP is the follow up to their 2004 debut ‘You Took it All Away’ and 2006’s ‘Delivering The Final Blow’ that lead the band on multiple Canadian tours plus opening slots to support bands like Alexisonfire, Underoath, Hopesfall and Blessed By A Broken Heart.

“Fayne have unleashed a maelstrom of a fury in The Queen of Kings EP. Bracingly raw yet just as feverishly sculpted the five track metalcore fuelled encounter reasserts the Montreal quintet as a seriously compelling proposition. It is merciless and ravenous examination of the senses and a perpetual spark for the imagination to feed upon.” – Ring Master Reviews

“The Fayne heavy drum sound is similar to that of Slipknot. The vocal screams are like those of Hatebreed with the more melodic breaks of Redlight King’s vibe. The band is full of nonstop energy. The hooks from Alex and Nick are great to get the pulse going along with Carlo’s relentless percussion assault. Joseph shows his vocal range quite well on this release while Chris plays lights out on the bass tracks. It’s no surprise that they are a favorite of theValhalla Sound Circus after only one year. It’s a hint of great things to come from another good Canadian metal outfit.” – National Rock Review

“The Main Course for the night, Fayne, surely filled Our Hearts and Bellies with core-filled fist burgers and motivated serenading side salads!! Fayne is back and with a Vengeance: that’s for sure! The energy they created on stage powered their amps and reinforced the crowd. Surely Fayne has a message to spread! Thoughtful lyrical content brought us together, uplifting the crowd, spreading the power of oneness, and knocking down the walls of mind blocks that stand before us. And speaking of walls…the dense wall of sound created by the breakdowns surely raised a rumble of raised fists and energetic punters moshing heads.” – Montrealites (Live Review 2014)

“I was just impressed all around with how well these guys go together. Their chemistry on stage, musically, and physically is something I haven’t seen in a while.  Their music collides with an influence of Misery Signals meets Pantera. They are known for blending in sick guitar solos with heavier strums, melancholic/mean vocals and an insane amount of energy. When I mentioned throughout the day to a few friends I was checking these dudes out, I got a lot of “Those guys are awesome!” – clearly a good fan base as well. Congrats guys.” – (Live Review 2013) – Bucket List Music Reviews

“There is no doubt in my mind that Canada’s Fayne is a solid band, musically they’re very tight and heavy enough to make you crowd surf at one of their gigs.” – Explicitly Intense

” FAYNE have expressed all fury with “The Queen Of Kings”, packed into 5 small songs to make this short little EP. With raw flavors exposed in this collection, the quintet has created a monstrous noise…All in all the EP does mark a great return for FAYNE.” Metal Temple

“Fayne is back from their hiatus with a Fury of furious Screams, Hard Hitting skins and Heavy sculpted guitar leads and solos. With a silent but deadly approach Fayne slays into the album with the title track The Queen Of Kings.” – Kingston Music Reviews

“La recette est bien exploitée, tous les éléments du genre sont en place avec des guitares adipeuses qui chuintent lors de certains moments opportuns.” – Voir

About: M.O.D.: http://www.milanomosh.com/

M.O.D. (Method of Destruction) is a crossover thrash band from New York City, fronted by former Anthrax roadie and Stormtroopers of Death vocalist Billy Milano. The band has been around for 28 years (minus one hiatus from 1997 to 2001),[1] and released eight studio albums. With M.O.D., Milano sought to continue on the musical path of the bands Anthrax, Stormtroopers of Death and Nuclear Assault, mixing shades of hardcore punk with thrash metal and often humorous and politically incorrect lyrics.

U.S.A. for M.O.D., the band’s debut album, was produced by S.O.D. bandmate and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian. The first track, “Aren’t You Hungry?”, a reworking of an unrecorded S.O.D. song, is notable for the lyric “fuck those niggers’ charity,” referring to the then-common famine relief activism such as We Are the World. Later the band apologized admitting Rock and Roll was actually a black music.

M.O.D.’s second effort, Surfin’ M.O.D., was an anomaly, featuring little thrash metal, focusing more on humorous cover songs and a beach party atmosphere. The band would return to their roots on Gross Misconduct, as well as further expand their sound on Rhythm of Fear. It was around this time that Milano performed a reunion show with S.O.D. at The Ritz in New York.

The following releases, Devolution and Dictated Aggression, suffered from poor distribution and going out of print, despite Milano’s heavier style and more serious lyrics. The albums were eventually reissued on Blackout Records in 2004.

Following M.O.D.’s split in 1997, Milano reformed S.O.D., who released a subsequent album, Bigger than the Devil, in 1999.

In 2001, Milano reformed M.O.D. with a new lineup, and two years later, released The Rebel You Love to Hate, somewhat of a return to Milano’s humorous past with jabs at white suburban rap fans and the War on Terrorism. M.O.D. relocated to Austin, Texas, and released the album Red, White & Screwed in October 2007 through Index Entertainment, and launched a supporting tour in summer 2008. The band played its final touring show in the United States on September 13, 2008, however the band still performs periodically (mostly in Austin, TX, where Billy currently resides).

In May 2013, Milano announced a 25th Anniversary Tour dubbed “The Mexicans On Duty Tour” featuring the band’s new lineup.

M.O.D. is currently working on a new album.

Montreal based solo rock musician Milo McMahon has confirmed he will be playing at this year’s Canadian Music Week taking place from May 1-10 in Toronto, ON. Showcase details will be announced at a later date.

“I used to live in Toronto and as a music fan, CMW was always written in bold on my calendar. To have the opportunity to hop on the other side of the fence and perform at the festival is a big honour. I’m preparing something special just for those dates and can’t wait to get down there.” comments McMahon.

McMahon recently announced he will be hitting the road at the beginning of March (dates listed below) in support of his latest EP ‘Gone Too Long’ released last October to follow up his first release of 2014, the self-produced debut album ‘Big City Hustle’.

“The last 12 months have been a whirlwind, and the reaction to Gone Too Long EP has been amazing. The live show is our bread and butter, so we’re really excited to get back on the road and bring these songs to life.” comments McMahon.

With his infectious stage presence, impressive guitar playing and powerful voice, McMahon has harvested a following of enthusiastic fans from across Canada with two releases in one year. His most recent, the three song EP ‘Gone Too Long’ was produced by Dave Newfeld (Broken Social Scene, Super Furry Animals) and features performances by Joseph Yarmush of Suuns along with Lisa Iwanycki Moore of Blood & Glass. His debut album, ‘Big City Hustle’ released in March of 2014 explores the dichotomy of the struggle to make it as a successful musician in downtown Toronto along with his second life: that of a tree planter in the wilds of Northern Canada where he spent over two years living in a tent in the Canadian wilderness planting over one million trees.

The youngest of five, Milo was born at home in Dublin, Ireland but relocated to wintry Winnipeg, MB shortly after where he developed a love of all things Canadian: canoeing, hockey and rock n’ roll. Early memories of Guns n’ Roses on the living room hi-fi, Neil Young’s Harvest Moon on long car rides and later, the Red Hot Chili Peppers on repeat on his first Walkman have certainly left an impression on the 27-year-old singer/songwriter, whose refreshing brand of garage rock produces songs that are both musically innovative and lyrically engaging.

“I would have to say that you owe it to yourself to see Milo and his band. It is absolutely a must-see act if you love rock music and want to see an up-and-comer playing the style the way it should be played: with energy and integrity.” – Hot Soupe

“We can feel Milo’s talent in his music, and the energy that his band brings to the act. The vocalist and frontman Milo is definitely a talented singer – he has a very nice and soothing voice, with a wide vocal range. There is definitely a lot of potential to move up for this Montreal musician.” – (Live Review) – The Scene Mag

“The first track, “Gone Too Long”, is both melodic and catchy with some fairly awesome flute playing. The second track, “Come Get Me Eyes”, a little more rock than the first track, is equally as catchy. The guitar and bass, along with the lyrics, really stand out on this track. The last track, “Buyin’ a Truck”, is a fun song about missing somebody. I can see it being a good sing-along tune as well.” – Bucketlist Music Reviews

“Big City Hustle is definitely one of the more interesting eclectic I’ve heard in a while…. It takes a lot of courage to make a concept album, especially to do one alone, and McMahon grabs the bull by the horns with full-force. This album shows the beginnings of a very promising musical career and should not be overlooked.” – The Scene Mag

1. Gone Too Long (2:58)
2. Come Get Me Eyes (2:49)
3. Buyin’ A Truck (3:01)

Montreal, QC metal-core quintet Fayne have unleashed their new music video ‘Believers’in support of their new EP ‘The Queen of Kings’, released digitally this past November via Crystal Math on iTunes here. Heavily influenced by bands such as Counterparts, Mastodon, and Periphery, FAYNE‘s new EP ‘The Queen of Kings’ features a special guest appearance by Misery Signals vocalist Karl Schubach on their track Nomad’s Land plus was produced by guitarist Alex Gonzalez with the help from Alan Douches of West West Side Music (Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, Between the Buried and Me) for the final mastering.

After being on hiatus since 2008, the band reformed in 2013 with a renewed hunger and dedication to the Canadian metal scene to create this follow up EP to 2004’s debut ‘You Took it All Away’ and 2006’s ‘Delivering The Final Blow’ that lead the band on multiple Canadian tours plus opening slots to support bands like Alexisonfire, Underoath, Hopesfall and Blessed By A Broken Heart.

In addition to their video being released, the band’s ferocious sound will be hitting the stage on February 22nd in Montreal to be local support for The Contortionist, Revocation, Fallujah and Toothgrinder. Full show details and ticket info can be found here.

“We’re extremely excited to announce that we’ll be opening for The Contortionist on February 22nd at Le Petit Campus. We had the opportunity to watch and speak to them earlier this year and are thrilled to get the chance to share the stage with not only them but other great bands including Revocation, Fallujah and Toothgrinder this time around.” comments guitarist Nick Fazioli.

Out Now! KOLONY Unleash Debut Album ‘Sledge’ + Post Video ‘The Making of Sledge’

L-R – Antony: Drum  | Myk: Bass, Back Vocals  |  Maxxx: Lead Guitar, Back Vocals  |  Reno: Vocals, Rythm Guitar

Best described as crafting melodic rock metal, Montreal, QC’s KOLONY believes in doing things a little differently. Boldly combining elements of old school metal, NWOBHM, modern metal and rock, the band loves fast tempos, melodic vocals and all-around high-octane music with each track coming from the heart and reflecting the way its members think about the world. Setting out to write a full-length debut album at the start of 2013, KOLONY has arrived at its latest record, ‘Sledge’, an 11 track power adventure produced by Jef Fortin and the band that they are proud to unleash to the masses today, November 14, 2014.

“Here we are, finally after almost 2 years of hard work, we are thrilled to share with you our latest record Sledge! We have had many good moments while recording this album and yet many more are to come. So turn up the volume knob and let’s celebrate rock/metal together! To our fans, thank you very much because without you, all of this would not be possible. Rock on!!” comments vocalist / guitarist Reno Benoit.

The album is now streaming and available for purchase at the band’s bandcamp here.
