Edmonton, AB’s JULIET RUIN have announced Western Canadian show dates that include an opening slot for Ukraine’s Jinjer in Calgary on October 29th and supporting fellow Albertans Arrival of Autumn in Grande Prairie on October 19th. The band will venture out to British Columbia for dates in Kelowna and Vancouver.

The band adds:

“We as a band are absolutely honoured to be opening up for Jinjer, we are all fans and their meteoric rise has been a pleasure to watch.”

Show Dates:

Sept 13 – Kelowna, BC – Fernando’s
Sept 14 – Vancouver, BC – Pat’s Pub w/ Kosm
Oct 4 – Red Deer, AB – The Krossing
Oct 19 – Grande Prairie, AB – Better Than Fred’s w/ Arrival of Autumn
Oct 29 – Calgary, AB – Dickens w/ Jinjer, The Browning, Sumo Cyco
Oct 30 – Edmonton, AB – Starlite Room w/ w/ Jinjer, The Browning, Sumo Cyco

JULIET RUIN recently released their first full-length album “Old Stardust, Love and Chaos” on September 6, 2019 to follow their 2017 debut self titled EP. The release promises to be more technical with heavy instrumentation, including some dabbling in low tuned 7 string guitars to create an original sound chock full of catchy hooks that convey a fresh and emotive feel to their heavy music. Lead vocalist Jess Ruin has added more screams, but also more clean techniques with her pop-esque power vocals. Fans of forward-thinking modern metal such as Evanescence, System of a Down, and Killswitch Engage should take special note of this powerful and emotive Canadian band.

The band explains the release:

“’Old Stardust, Love, and Chaos’ stays true to a lot of our root qualities in terms of catchy hooks and overall groove, but fans can expect a lot of new and even somewhat experimental things on the album as well. Lyrically speaking this album delves into a little bit deeper subject matter than the EP, focusing a lot of personal introspection and mental health, as well as general societal concerns from differing degrees of headspace; from optimism to apathy.”

Digital stream and download is available on Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music, Amazon.

“Every band needs to find that element which connects them with a fanbase, and Juliet Ruin has done that early on in their career.” – PureGrainAudio

“Pre-album single “Spite” that features a Sprite logo is also reminiscent of “Cloud Factory” era Jinjer with an excellent vocal range on show. Blending riffs seamlessly with gravity defying leaps between sub-genres from classic Metal to Hard Rock to Metalcore, it’s a nice twist on the conventional approach.” – Metal Noise

“If you are into Halestorm, Jinjer, Killswitch Engage you are gonna fall in love with this group not just a bit. But madly and deeply! Grab a hold of this gem of a release on the 6th of September you aint gonna regret it , cos Juliet Ruin aint gonna “Ruin” ya day they are gonna make it !! ” – The Metal Gods Meltdown

“An album full of energy, fluid, strong! Aggressive! Powerful!! Continuous, forceful!” – Darkzen Dragon Metal Angels

“From hardrock, to metalcore and everythign in between, Juliet Ruin delivers a fun and interesting record with many sounds, attitudes and emotions.” – Heavy New York

“I have been really enjoying the heck out of this album” – Craank

“Juliet Ruin’s sound is comparable to a muddier version of Alexisonfire, with Fleming guiding the songs with her powerful voice while being backed up by Geislinger’s harsh screams and growls…. “Search no further than the Juliet Ruin playbook, it’ll teach you a thing or two. Their hard work and dedication are clearly paying off, and I predict that it won’t be too long until they become a commercial success. Yes, I’m willing to wager on it.” – Ravenkin Photography (2018)

Since starting on their musical journey in 2015 from the ashes of a previous endeavour, JULIET RUIN has been working tirelessly to make a name for themselves in the Canadian music scene. Making their way across local stages and appearing at several Western Canadian festivals, JULIET RUIN will be unleashing their first full-length album “Old Stardust, Love and Chaos” on September 6, 2019 to follow their 2017 debut self titled EP.

Earlier this summer, the Edmonton based band released their first single ‘Seasons‘, a song about the goddess of spring and hell in Greek mythology along with being a nod to badass women everywhere.

Now they are ready to drop their second banger ‘Spite’ with an exciting video that gives a dose of harsh truth via an exclusive premiere on PureGrainAudio.com here.

The band adds:

“‘Spite’ is one of the heaviest on the album, being the very first song where Jess screams entire verses. This song is an honest look at what it is like to regain perspective after dealing with a narcissistic force in one’s life. Spite’s courses are surprisingly upbeat in theme and sound, especially in contrast to the angry verses. It starts intense and continues to intensify throughout.”

Fans of forward-thinking modern metal such as Evanescence, System of a Down, and Killswitch Engage should take special note of this powerful and emotive Canadian band.

The ten-track album “Old Stardust, Love, and Chaos” showcases a brand that is all their own. They describe their new album as staying true to their roots while continuing to tinker with their sound:

“’Old Stardust, Love, and Chaos’ stays true to a lot of our root qualities in terms of catchy hooks and overall groove, but fans can expect a lot of new and even somewhat experimental things on the album as well. Lyrically speaking this album delves into a little bit deeper subject matter than the EP, focusing a lot of personal introspection and mental health, as well as general societal concerns from differing degrees of headspace; from optimism to apathy.”

Since starting on their musical journey in 2015 from the ashes of a previous endeavour, JULIET RUIN has been working tirelessly to make a name for themselves in the Canadian music scene. Making their way across local stages and appearing at several Western Canadian festivals, JULIET RUIN are now finishing up their first full-length album “Old Stardust, Love and Chaos”. To introduce this work of art they are releasing the first single ‘Seasons’.

Since releasing their self titled EP in 2017, JULIET RUIN has been working hard to further cement their sound and create a brand that is all their own. They describe their new album as staying true to their roots while continuing to tinker with their sound:

The single is about the goddess of spring and hell in Greek mythology and serves as a nod to badass women everywhere. The music coming is laced with fury, reflection, and tears. JULIET RUIN expands of the meaning behind the single:

“Our first single off the album, ‘Seasons’, is a mainly clean-vocals, poetic retelling of Persephone and Hades in Greek mythology. ‘Seasons’ has an emotional vibe to it and celebrates the balance of powers within the spectrum of femininity, as well as the metaphorical ties between seasons and nature the mother.”

Fans of forward-thinking modern metal such as Evanescence, System of a Down, and Killswitch Engage should take special note of this powerful and emotive Canadian band.

Love Hurts! Love Scars! Love Wounds as 1970’s hard rock band Nazareth would put it best! But when it comes to Deathpoint and an Anti-Valentine’s Day Show…

“What better way to say fuck Valentine’s day than being in the pit with your closest of friends and the closest of strangers. This holiday, spend it with Deathpoint – Love stinks, but the music doesn’t have to.” comments vocalist Tom Emmans.

Deathpoint will be performing an Anti-Valentine’s Day show on Feb 14th in Guelph, ON alongside Seducing Medusa, Killitorous (ex/current members of Blind Witness, Vital Remains, Immersed, The Kindred and Blessed By A Broken Heart), This Is Identity. The band is also scheduled to perform this weekend in London, ON on Feb 7th and Windsor, ON on Feb 8th in support of their latest album ‘Sinister’ and latest music video ‘Between The Lines’.
