Heavy metal brewers TRIBUNE are hitting the road for their ‘CANADA SLAYS TOUR’ that will kick off in Kelowna, BC on April 3rd and see the band trek as far East as Montreal, QC and return West to wrap up the tour in Nanaimo, BC on May 3rd.
The band recently posted a pre-tour blog for fans at the following link: http://www.tribunemetal.com/canada-slays-tribune-2014/
Video – Insectoid Jam – Tribune rehearses Insectoid during their last jam before touring – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKbRTfFe5yw
This is Tribune‘s second cross Canada Tour since 2012, when they toured across the US and Canada in support of their last release ‘Elder Lore/ The Dark Arts’.
The Vancouver quintet unleashed their concept album ‘Tales’ during October 2013 via their indie label Corpse Corrosion Music. The release was inspired entirely by literature and features a wide array of influences from Homer to Mary Shelley to H.P. Lovecraft, to more extreme musical influences such as Carcass, Death and At The Gates. The band’s appetite for more melodic and more brutally heavy sounds to follow-up 2011’s Elder Lore/The Dark Arts is demonstrated with their collusion of extremity and accessibility that bleeds into the melting pot and their fresh take of progressive death metal.

“I am so scared of this…but that’s good.” – Bob Ezrin
“Think a 3 piece Mr. Bungle with Patton’s vocals taking a turn for the better, add some laser beams and dreads, turn it all up to eleven, stand the fuck back and enjoy.” – Ground Report , NYC
“Pay attention Canadian recording industry, Ninjaspy is on the rise and the people’s salvation is at hand.” -Absolute Underground Magazine
“Soaring vocal harmonies are there one minute and replaced with a throaty growl the next. “Pure Sketch” is a sure-fire modern rock radio hit, as the post-grunge frame work gets stirred up into a tasty seventies inspired soul/funk soup”. – Metal-Rules.com
“Bloody well are entertaining. All dreadlocks and fricking samurai swords, giant pants and flying limbs. Not a speck of the stage was left untouched by this band’s chaotic feet.” – Cord Magazine
“The album itself is a blend of Hardcore, Punk, Ska, Rock & Metal, a recipe for brilliance. I urge everyone to check out this band, you may just re-evaluate your existence” – Infinitybasement
About:
Ninjaspy arose with the dawn of the year of six, embodied by the Triad in Blood: Vocalist/Guitarist Joel Parent, Drummer Adam Parent and Bassist Tim Parent. Rising above the mire of their faceless six year muse, they have focused their sights on the mission objectives now at hand: Swift, surgical amalgamation of a spectrum of styles and the subsequent eradication of narrow mindedness. Advocating total freedom of expression and infiltrating every earthen sinew in their chosen path in order to stay grounded and facilitate real connections with others; interactions that are crucial for a meaningful human existence. In correlation with a commitment to people before all else, support for Ninjaspy has grown with every show, every tour and every industry contact.
With the help of prolific producers, GGGarth Richardson and Ben Kaplan, they entered the next level of their career, releasing their debut cd πature (Pi Nature) in the fall of 2007. Ever reworking new ideas to their utmost potential, 2013 saw the release of the follow-up multi-media EP/Graphic Novella “NINJASPY NO KATA” with production by the same team of producers.
Equipped and, indeed, armed with their own musical weaponry, (a derivation of hardcore, ska, grunge, reggae, funk and more) Ninjaspy aim to engage people with radical ideas on a level plane. And above all else, to reiterate to people over and again, the importance of victory in the eternal conflict with the skank; the vicious and relentless evil that lives in every human being. The skank that is overcome each time Ninjaspy has the honour of sharing their crafts with people in a live environment, where dancing destroys the enemy. The enemy whose defeat is apparent as one witnesses the total freedom felt at every show by the people in the pit who rise up to throw the skank down.

With only a few more dates left on their cross Canada Tour in promotion of their recently released EP #Punk#Zombie#RocknRoll, Vancouver’s Kill Matilda vocalist/guitarist Dusty Exner has posted a new tour blog on the band’s most recent road adventures titled ‘The Prairies – Rum Running & Hair Dye Freezing’.
Tour Blog Update #3: http://trailerparkdusty.wordpress.com/2014/03/31/tour-update-3-the-prairies-rum-running-hair-dye-freezing/
Kill Matilda released a six song EP/ re-release ‘#Punk#Zombie#RocknRoll‘ on March 4th that features tracks from their 2011 full-length album ‘I Want Revenge’ with an acoustic rendition of ‘Geisha With A Switchblade’, which is accompanied by a comic book created by vocalist/guitarist Dusty Exner that can be downloaded at http://killmatilda.com/.
After a small hiatus due to health issues from a tumor in a carotid artery and an Ectopic pregnancy, Kill Matilda hasn’t let the odds against them stop them from an ass-kicking mission to Punk, Zombie and Rock n’ Roll across Canada.
“I have a guitar, I have a microphone. One week out of my hospital bed, I will meet you onstage.” Dusty Exner (vocalist/guitarist) – A Rocky Start, A Re-commitment – http://trailerparkdusty.wordpress.com/2014/01/23/a-rocky-start-a-recommitment/
Also in the plans for later this year, the band will be releasing their yet to be titled follow up EP produced by producer extraordinaire Garth Richardson.
“The amazing attention of Garth Richardson! Although this man has produced so many amazing albums and we’re not the only band getting some attention and love, he took the extra steps to personally engineer our new album, which is something he has not done in like, 10 years or something. That makes me feel very, very special.” says KM vocalist/guitarist Dusty Exner.

About:
Formed when three Newfoundlanders crossed paths in the Canadian heavy metal capital with Ahmed Saad who hails from the Middle East, the injection of music immediately began to flow through their veins and M.E.C.H. metal was soon born.
“It stands for Middle East Coast Heavy Metal; Our drummer being from the Middle East and the rest of the members being from the east coast of Canada,” explains Stephen Reynolds (bass, vocals). ‘Every single person in this band is a songwriter, so the songs come out with their own feel and develop naturally.’ continues Reynolds. ‘We don’t shackle ourselves to any kind of focused idea, which brings about a sort of honesty in the music not often found in metal.’

Out Now! The Rising Few ‘Sinners On St. Laurent’ A Tribute To Montreal; Music Video ‘I Want You Now’

L-R – Isaac Gesse – Trumpet – Hubert Tremblay – Guitar – Harvey Bienaime – Drums – Karim Terouz – Vocals – Andrew Sudlow – Bass | Photo Credit – Laurent Cassis
Montreal, QC’s The Rising Few are proud to announce the official release of their debut album ‘Sinners On St. Laurent’, out this week on Tuesday, March 25th (iTunes). The album is a tribute to the city that has given so much to vocalist Karim Terouz, a professional illustrator whom left his hometown of Cairo, Egypt to embrace the blistering Canadian winters and the lively music scene that Montreal is internationally known for.
Accompanying Terouz in his true passion of music are Hubert Tremblay (Guitars) and Andrew Sudlow (Bass) whom he met when he first started visiting every open mic night imaginable in the city. He was then later joined by Isaac Gesse (Trumpet) and Harvey Bienaime (Drums) to complete The Rising Few and create a fusion of folk, blues, rock and pop that the band showcases with its influences from Cat Stevens, The Tragically Hip and Bruce Springsteen, as well as Terouz’s Egyptian heritage with the band’s R&B / soul inspirations.
Performing over 30 live shows since first beginning on the scene and a first place win at the LME showcase competition (http://www.landmarkevents.net) in which the band beat out 200+ others for top honours. The Rising Few is excited to indulge music fans in some “punchy Montreal soul” with this debut produced by the great Glen Robinson known for his mixing and mastering credits on projects with Dave Grohl’s Probot, The Ramones, David Bowie, AC/DC, Keith Richards, The Tea Party, Grim Skunk, Ringo Starr, The Beach Boys and many more over the course of his career.

“Rising Few’s eclectic debut captures Plateau vibe: Sinners on St. Laurent marries folk and blues with artfully constructed, narrative-driven melodic rock writing.” – Montreal Gazette
“Ce qui est certain, c’est que ‘The Rising Few’ donne un sentiment réellement Montréalais! Entre leurs paroles anglaises et françaises, les mélodies dynamiques et sereines et les paroles parlant d’amour et de solitude, on peut imaginer les petits cafés du plateau, les bars animés de St. Laurent et les rues vives et pleines d’énergie de Montréal!” – The Indie Blender
“Their debut album begins with the title track “Sinners On St. Laurent” you will be quickly taken away by the smoothing vocals of Karim Terouz. Karim’s smooth and slick sounding Jazz/pop vocals graciously flow throughout the song. As well as the vocals the lyrics are quite cleverly written by Karim as well, the lyrics come straight from the visual exposures from which Karim has taken in while living in Montreal. The instrumental aspect of the song goes perfectly hand in hand with the vocals as well. . If you are intrigued by lyrics such as I am you will be delighted with the full composition and arrangement of the song. ” – Kingston Music Reviews

”As an illustrator myself, how can I not visually tackle the characters and themes I create for the songs…after all it’s all storytelling, and the more you dwell in THE ART of your craft, the more you are at peace with the questions that surround it…you know what they say, The Devil’s in the Details !” says Karim Terouz.
