Brennan, then head of the CIA, explained that with a program called Stratospheric Aerosol Injection, we could lower the global temperature by 2 degrees Celsius, estimated at around 10 billion dollars per year.

Taking influence from Europe’s music festival circuit, Armstrong Metal Fest is a heavy metal celebration that encourages metal heads from across Canada and the globe to mosh and camp with the backdrop of great outdoors of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. From Upcoming Greek Mythology Themed Debut EP Out July 21st

Few things go together better than melodic death metal and ancient mythology. The debut EP from Edmonton, Alberta’s TIDES OF KHARON, is the latest addition to this perfect combo. Entitled “Coins Upon Our Eyes”, the debut goes hand in hand with the band name, taken from the lore of the boatman on the river Styx who ferries the dead to the underworld, taking the coins left on the eyes of a corpse as his payment. TIDES OF KHARON fully embrace the Greek mythology themes in their songs and their first EP is a culmination of several different tales taking from the ancient pantheon.

Originally started by brothers Cam, Ryan and Justin Rehman in 2014 with a desire to play shows in front of people, TIDES OF KHARON quickly became a fan favorite in the Edmonton music community. The solidification of Gord Alexander on drums and Garrett Nelson on vocals finally cemented the sound the band sought and the production of the EP could begin. Citing inspiration from titans in the genre including Amon Amarth, At the Gates and early In Flames, the band is definitely in the running alongside their Swedish counterparts.

Finally, their debut EP is ready to be unleashed upon the public on July 21st and teaming up with NoCleanSinging.com, the quintet is premiering the title track.

“The EP is the culmination of several years of writing and performing material in an attempt to solidify what we would define as our sound. Lyrically the title track ‘Coins Upon Our Eyes’ is a discussion on existentialism within the setting of Greek mythology, and the indifference of gods that you know are real. The rest of the tracks follow suit with lyrical themes involving, the rape of Medusa, Orpheus’ quest to bring back his dead wife, and an unending battle involving the sons of the god of war, Ares. The EP is just the beginning with several songs already complete and numerous in the works a full length album won’t be far off.”

In 2008, from a deep, dark, poorly lit gromitorium in Calgary, Alberta, a new technical metal band, STATUE OF DEMUR was born. Drenched in Jager, Jake Reimer (Vocals/Bass), Richard Zimmer (Vocals/Guitar) and Mitch Fitz (Drums) came together to foster an intricate combination of many metal influences and fuse a completely unique sound. Set to release their third full-length “Alien Pacific” on Friday, June 16th, the trio has teamed up with NoCleanSinging for the exclusive premiere of their first single “Tamaracks”, one of their ten aggressive tracks centered around themes of conspiracies, alien abductions and a shadow government. Death Toll Rising has posted a new guitar playthrough for their track ‘Crack Open A Cold One‘ from their latest album ‘Infection Legacy’.

About: Featuring a combination of death and thrash metal, the Edmonton-based band are known to devastate their audiences with their high octane performances that has lead them to share the stage over the years with high profile names such as Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, The Haunted, and Aborted (to name a few).

Originally formed in 2003 in Stony Plain, AB, Canada, Death Toll Rising have been grinding the Western Canadian metal scene steadily, gaining huge momentum over the last 3 years. New addition Tylor Dory on guitars has introduced a technical and progressive element to the band they have not had in the past. Add in the intense and relentless drumming provided by Bryan Newbury (recently recruited by Canadian prog/death powerhouse INTO ETERNITY), as well as the well-rounded rhythm provided by Drew Copland on guitar and Mike Puff on bass, and you get a monster that is only now being unleashed upon the masses with vocalist Jesse Berube topping things off with a combination of brutal death growls and Tomas Lindberg-esqe high shrieks, which will be plenty noticeable on their new album ‘Infection Legacy’.
