0 Saudi Arabian Melo-Death WASTED LAND’s First Single In Eight Years “Fade Away”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – May 31, 2021

For fans of In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Suidakra

Saudi Arabian Melo-Death WASTED LAND’s First Single In Eight Years “Fade Away”

L-R – Wastend Land – Ahmed Khojah – Guitar, Emad Mujalid – Vocals,  Ayman Al Ghamdi – Guitar

Saudi Arabia’s Wasted Land has a new single coming out entitled “Fade Away”, this is following their self-titled 2013 album. Since that full-length, the band suggests that they have evolved over time from being melody and folk focused into something heavier, but still having a strong melodic base.

“Fade Away” has been in the works since 2017, and will be the first music video from the band, which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/a66F36A8FDw

Lyrically, the single talks about someone having severe depression and comparing his journey in life to that of a candle, getting shorter and shorter until it eventually burns out. Then he finds his soul’s salvation after his death. Musically, it starts with heavy doses of melody which are complimented by heavy riffs and even more melodies. To contribute to the theme of depression and life’s waning, it carries a somber and melancholic tune near the end. The band comments on the track:

“It’ll be a new mixture from our old folkish style with more heavy catchy riffs and chorus. We hope we can catch the attention from the old fans and attract new ones.”

For Wasted Land, they compose the music first and then create lyrics that fit. For this song in particular guitarist Ayman composed the lyrics a long time ago for his previous band Banj. Writing for the band is a joint endeavour between guitarists Ayman and Ahmed whenever they jam together. Vocalist Emad adds his flavours in the lyrics and of course the vocal lines.

Wasted Land originally formed in 2005 to participate in Metal II gig in Dammam. Ahmed and Ayman were jamming together and felt there was chemistry between them while composing folky melodic death metal. From there they decided to add more members to create a full band. They were one of the first Saudi metal bands to get massive media exposure from outlets like CNN, BBC radio and other local and international newspapers.

Recommended for fans of In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, and Suidakra.

“Fade Away” is available for stream and download via Saudi Arabian based label Wall of Sound Records.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – May 25, 2021

For fans of In Flames, Machine Head, Amorphis, Mercenary

Rockshots Records: Feel The Demonic Possession w/ KARPENTER’s New Single “Mechanical Sense”

New Album “Sleepless” Out May 28th

KARPENTER (named in tribute to horror master John Carpenter) will be releasing their debut album “Sleepless” on May 28th via Rockshots Records. The album will be a gateway to a hostile and tormented world, where space and time are perceived in a distorted way. Each track hides a story, and a tale steeped in fear all inspired by horror movie themes and characters such as “Perfection Valley” for Tremors, “No Vacancy” for Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho, “Shark” influenced by Jaws, and “The Manor” for Army of Darkness.

With just a few days until the full-length is unleashed, these horror fiends are sharing their latest music video for “Mechanical Sense”, which is inspired by the horror video board game Atmosfear. It’s a fast and impactful track that speaks of demonic possession as a metaphor of the inability to manage choices and actions in everyday life.

“This song is here to make a clear point: we can play hard and heavy if we want. “Mechanical Sense” is like a fast train running with no rails and boundaries. It is clearly a speedy metal song filled with stunning melodies and majestic mid-tempo openings. It’s a no-brainer when it comes to the power of sound and it is so funny to play! ” adds the band.

Listen to “Mechanical Sense” at the following links:
YouTube – https://youtu.be/qGE31YdL-Ec
Spotify, etc. – https://backl.ink/146782776

KARPENTER was formed in 2019 by former Fightcast members Filippo Tellerini, Francesco Vicini, and Marco Biondi, along with Federico Conti (Creep), Manuel Nucci and Michele Mingozzi (Figure of Six). By connecting old-school influences with modern-sounding songs, the band aims at keeping the core of the style that characterized the past while projecting itself toward new and original experimentations of sounds and metal sub-genres. KARPENTER‘s members have shared the stage with established bands such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Ghost Inside, Poison The Well.

Their forthcoming debut “Sleepless”
was recorded and mixed by Gabriele Ravaglia (Extrema) and Gianmarco Bambini at Fear Studio in Italy, and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Epica, Fleshgod Apocalypse).

For fans of In Flames, Amorphis, Machine Head, and Mercenary, “Sleepless” is available for pre-order via Rockshots Records.

0 Canada’s Mütherload’s New Music Video “The Visitor” Makes Contact With The Unknown; New EP “Ü” Out July 9th, 2021

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – May 11, 2021

For fans of Lamb of God, In Flames, Mastodon, Opeth, Tool

Canada’s Mütherload’s New Music Video “The Visitor” Makes Contact With The Unknown

New EP “Ü” Out July 9th, 2021

Hailing from London, ON, Canada, Mütherload has risen from the ashes of Heaven Ablaze, and has been intriguing metalheads already with their video for “The Visitor”. This single, off the upcoming debut EP “Ü”, has already been released and is viewable on YouTube – https://youtu.be/M_-RLpnxlNQ

As the band puts it, “The Visitor” is one of the darker songs on the record, being in a much lower tuning than the last half of the six-track EP. They explain the track in their own words:

“The Visitor was the first release for us and was also chosen for our first music video. The song was originally written years ago as an acoustic song which is why if you listen carefully, you can hear an acoustic track in the chorus. We feel this song best represents our sound as there is a little bit of everything in there. There’s groove, thrash, melody, dynamics, and flow. It’s definitely one of our favorites to play live as well.”

Mütherload started when guitarist Patrick Davison randomly ran into drummer and former bandmate Matt Ashton, several years after his hiatus from Heaven Ablaze had started. After the first jam, four songs were written and the group took off from there. Having previously worked together in Heaven Ablaze, the chemistry was instantly rekindled and everything just clicked.

The tracks presented on the EP are the ones that best sum up the current sound of Mütherload. There’s no concept approach to it, although a few of the tracks do flow in and out of each other. It’s a real, raw, ‘here’s-who-we-are’ style of recording.

Melodic, and groovy, Mütherload is recommended for fans of Lamb of God, In Flames, and Mastodon.

The full EP “Ü” is out July 9, 2021.

Track Listing:
1. Insect (3:54)
2. The Visitor (3:39)
3. Ü (0:44)
4. Iniquity (3:06)
5. Thaügüst (1:43)
6. Lamia (3:24)
EP Length: 16:32

EP and Live Band Line Up:
Patrick Davison – Guitar
Derek Haley – Guitar
Chris McKichan – Bass
Matt Ashton – Drums
Derek Lee – Vocals

The band adds:

“The Manor” is like an endless battle that brings many emotions to the table. We conceived it as a struggle to defend what’s most important to us, in an everlasting balance between win and loss, triumphant metal rides, and bitter melodic chords. “The Manor” is a hymn to revenge and it is set in a fictitious “dark era” that might evoke the Middle Ages. It sounds so powerful and punchy that we couldn’t prevent it from spreading so fiercely.”

“Sleepless” was recorded and mixed by Gabriele Ravaglia (Extrema) and Gianmarco Bambini at Fear Studio in Italy, and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Epica, Fleshgod Apocalypse).

“A juggernaut of French metal as PATHFINDERS take us on an epic journey of space exploration. The band offer up a delicious mix of heavy groove, progressive metal and djent in a captivating listening experience.” – Gig Radar

“A brutal start of pounding drums and bass and the chugging of guitars. A quick change to the groove as the lyrics kick in and the track (Damned Earth) starts to merge into the progressive brilliance as it powers on through with a pleasing speed. The vocals swap between the slightly guttural attack on the verses to a cleaner yet still rough-sounding rock voice on the chorus. All together the track is an addictive introduction to the band’s new album.” – Backseat Mafia

Rockshots Records: KARPENTER Unleashes A “Shark” Size Bite w/ New Single

New Album “Sleepless” Out May 28th

KARPENTER will be releasing their debut album “Sleepless” this coming May 2021 via Rockshots Records. The album will be a gateway to a hostile and tormented world, where space and time are perceived in a distorted way. The band adds:

“This is probably the most atypical song of the album, the most introspective and dark. We choose “Shark” as the first single, because it represents our most inner-self; gloomy vocal melodies and cinematic orchestral surroundings are shining in symphony with guitar arpeggios and solos, built on a solid rhythmic structure. It is a very dramatic song full of pathos.”

“The Tragedy of Being” Out March 30, 2021

Logan Grimm is an ambitious young artist seeking to take on the world as the creator of Grimmreaper. He has developed an intense backstory for a multimedia project that explores the very human realities of tragedy and suffering, and the choices they present, from nihilism and resentment to transcendence and courage. In the process of this, as a solo artist, he has crafted music that fuses the influences of highly technical bands like Dragonforce and Meshuggah with the work of more mainstream names such as Five Finger Death Punch and Bullet For My Valentine.

Set to unveil the debut album entitled “The Tragedy of Being” on Tuesday, March 30th, Grimmreaper has teamed with GhostCultMagzine for its exclusive stream before it officially drops.

Listen HERE.

Logan Grimm aka Grimmreaper adds:

“It’s been a long process to get this solo record ready, but I couldn’t be more excited to finally put it out there. With this debut album, I’m trying to give fans an experience that goes to different places in metal, from fast and hard, to slow and groovy, and even a Babymetal cover song. It’s a dark record with many twists and turns, but never boring. The lyrics come from ideas of old stories and archetypes, but the music isn’t as abstract. Some songs are commercial sounding in their structure, but some are longer with abrupt changes and weird patterns. The album is a journey through different tastes of metal, and while it’s meant to be enjoyed from start to finish, each song stands strong on its own.”

With a bright future painted before him featuring everything from forming a DIY label to endless touring, Logan Grimm has the ambition and the vision to match. Poised to be the next great force in metal, Grimmreaper looks boldly into the future.

Recommended for fans of Meshuggah, Trivium, and In Flames, Grimmreaper‘s “The Tragedy of Being” will be available on all digital platforms as of March 30th.

“Texas musician and multi-instrumentalist Logan Grimm is an ambitious young artist seeking to take on the world. As Grimmrepear, he has developed an intense backstory for a multimedia project that explores the very human realities of tragedy and suffering, and the choices they present, from nihilism and resentment to transcendence and courage.” – New Noise Magazine

“Talk about ambition. Grimmreaper, the brainchild of Logan Grimm, is a modern metal project where Logan plays all the instruments. Merging modern metal influences like Bullet For My Valentine with more technical ones like Meshuggah, the project is as much a multimedia one as it is a musical one.” – New Fury Media

“If you like pounding rhythms and impressive lead playing this power metal track (North Star) is just for you. With emotive vocals and rampaging rhythms, this is a classic headbanger from the very first double bass drum kick. The vocals soar and take flight mirroring the lyrical content. Throw in an epic thrash metal solo and we have one of the year’s best metal tracks- and it’s only the first week of January.” – BackSeatMafia

“Grimmreaper is inspired by many different sub-genres of metal, but it is without doubt that power metal is the strongest flavour in this particular track (North Star). There’s plenty of variation of riffs involved, ranging from meaty chugs to epic melodies that soar out of the atmosphere. In fact, the riff that starts at 0:33 sounds very similar to Those Who Fight Further from the Final Fantasy 7 soundtrack, at least to start off with, And that happens to be one of my most favourite pieces of music ever, so I was smiling giddily when I heard that part.” – Abrasive Noise

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 18, 2021

For fans of In Flames, Machine Head, Amorphis, Mercenary

Rockshots Records Signs KARPENTER For New Album “Sleepless” Out May 28th

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of KARPENTER for the release of their album “Sleepless” this coming May 2021.

Named in tribute to horror movie master John Carpenter, the alternative-metal band was formed in 2019 by former Fightcast members Filippo Tellerini, Francesco Vicini, and Marco Biondi, along with Federico Conti (Creep), Manuel Nucci and Michele Mingozzi (Figure of Six). By connecting old-school influences with modern-sounding songs, the band aims at keeping the core of the style that characterized the past while projecting itself toward new and original experimentations of sounds and metal sub-genres.

“Sleepless” will be KARPENTER‘s debut full length to follow their 2019 singles “Dark Mountain Side” and “The Hardest Party”. The album was recorded and mixed by Gabriele Ravaglia (Extrema) and Gianmarco Bambini at Fear Studio in Italy, and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Epica, Fleshgod Apocalypse).

The album’s tracks are inspired by horror movie themes and characters such as “Shark” influenced by Jaws, “The Manor” for Army of Darkness, “Perfection Valley” for Tremors, and “No Vacancy” for Alfred Hitchock’s Psycho. The band explains in further detail:

“Sleepless is a gateway to a hostile and tormented world, where space and time are perceived in a distorted way. Each track hides a story, a tale steeped in fear. You will be dragged into a spooky world devoid of any logic. Tight riffs and cinematic melodies will hit you from the beginning, alternating with darker and more introspective atmospheres.”

KARPENTER‘s members have shared the stage with established bands such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Ghost Inside, Poison The Well.

For fans of In Flames, Amorphis, Machine Head, and Mercenary, KARPENTER will release “Sleepless” via Rockshots Records on May 28th.

France’s Pathfinders are ready to make first contact with the landing of their debut album “Ares Vallis” via label Music-Records on April 16, 2021.

Just like the NASA space probe “Mars Pathfinder” that their name is originated from, Pathfinders are embarking on an encounter of the metal kind. Entering the “Ares Vallis”, the band is rooted in a primary sound of groove metal, but introduces fans into an astronomical discovery of twelve tracks assembled with progressive, thrashy, djenty, and melodic tones.

The band adds:

“We are fascinated with space exploration, especially following recent odysseys to the red planet. We believe it may be the next step in humanity’s evolution of uncovering what this universe holds. This is an album of us telling stories on adventures to and from Mars.”

The band’s lead single “Damned Earth” was released earlier this year, and it immediately crushes everything in its path, leading an assault with speed and breakdowns, along with a tinge of hardcore tendencies mixed with accelerating quantum force.

Fans of bands such as Lamb of God, Periphery, Parkway Drive, and In Flames will be intrigued to enter the undiscovered metal terrain that Pathfinders are offering up.

Pathfinders was formed in 2018 and consist of the Gaucher brothers Jérémy (Bass) and Romain (Guitar) with Jérémy Barthélémy (Drums), Benjamin Daguet (Guitar), and Clément Levy (Vocals).

“Damned Earth” can be heard on the following links:

“Ares Vallis” will be available on all digital platforms via Music-Records on April 16, 2021.

Fun Fact: The album title “Ares Vallis” is named after an outflow channel on Mars, which appears to have been carved by fluids, perhaps water.

1. Landing (1:20)
2. Impostors (4:59)
3. Damned Earth (4:03)
4. Evolution (3:32)
5. Precious Star (4:07)
