NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 26, 2017

For fans of Ghost, Syd Barrett/Floyd, Psych-era Beatles, Early Sabbath,

70’s prog: Yes, King Crimson, etc, QOTSA, Tool, My Bloody Valentine

Montreal Psych Rock A DEVIL’S DIN Album Premiere “One Hallucination Under God” via Psychedelic Baby Mag

Album Due Out September 29th

Montreal psych rock trio A Devil’s Din will be releasing third studio album “One Hallucination Under God” this coming Friday, September 29th and before it officially drops, the band has teamed up with It’s Psychedelic Baby Mag for the exclusive full stream, which can be heard at the following link: http://www.psychedelicbabymag.com/2017/09/a-devils-din-one-hallucination-under.html

Dave Lines vocalist / guitarist comments:

“If I had to describe the album in one word it would be: fun. There are plenty of head-boppin’ moments and there’s a really nice flow that takes you from earth to the stars and back in less than an hour. We got sweet fuzzed-out guitar tones, harmonies, melodies, hooks…and gongs! It’s a nice ride. And embedded throughout are certain words and phrases designed to elicit new ideas, widen the field of perception, and inspire a more cosmic outlook on life. Which is also fun. Especially on acid. It’s an incredible place to be as an artist: creatively free, without any limitations, so we can offer the world our fun and fuzzy freakadelic rock music.”

“One Hallucination Under God” follows the band’s two previous albums “Skylight” (2016) and “One Day All This Will Be Yours” (2011). The band is the psychedelic brainchild of UK-born Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist David Lines; joined on his creative journey by disciple of the Rickenbaker bass Thomas Chollet, and virtuoso drummer Dom Salameh.

They are a trio of sonic alchemists that together create a chemical wedding of cosmic chords, constantly seeking the philosopher’s stone of the perfect psychedelic song…and as we all know, it’s not the journey…it’s the trip, which they certainly do well taking listeners on a ride to the center of the psyche with their superb mind-expanding music created for all the right reasons. The band is inspired by The Beatles (66,67), Syd Barret-era Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Byrds.

“One Hallucination Under God” will be available on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, Bandcamp as of September 29th, 2017 .

“There’s a really adventurous but relaxing sound to One Hallucination Under God. Kicking off with the trippy & mind-warping rock melody of Brave New World. It’s a start that will put a big smile on the face thanks to the feel-good vocals & hooky guitar riffs.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Headbanging Life

“Rock ’n’ roll on the timeless precipice of psychedelic, progressive, transgressive danger. Be warned.”  –Lorraine Carpenter, Montreal Mirror/ Cult Mtl

“This trio reminded me of a psychedelic, more-progressive version of Black Sabbath. ” – Bucketlist Music Reviews

“I love to take a trip back into the glorious sounds of vintage psychedelic rock music and I would honestly suggest you do the same.” – Merchants of Air

“easy listening, sit back and enjoy the ride.” – Kats Metal Litter Box

“the band has one very important thing! Good songs. And even more special, great lyrics.” – ProgShine

“If you like old Jefferson Airplane, Yellow Submarine era Beatles and the like then you should dig the hell out of A Devil’s Din. I found it to be a lot of fun.” – Thy Demons Be Scribblin

” really love a great power trio, and A Devil’s Din is a power trio that sound like a 5 piece. The record is good listening, with some songs needing undivided attention due to the poetic lyrical content. With that being said, Skylight is a record with many layers and deserves many listens.” – Slickster Magazine

“Skylight is driven with hooks, and melodies and sprawling lead playing. I bet seeing these guys play live in an open air festival would be quite the experience.” – Kingston Music Reviews

“Drawing from Cream, Syd Barrett Pink Floyd, and all points in between, A Devil’s Din has reminded us how beautiful music once was.” – Glacially Musical

Montreal, QC – September 20, 2017

70’s prog: Yes, King Crimson, etc, QOTSA, Tool, My Bloody Valentine

Montreal Psychedelic Rock A DEVIL’S DIN Premiere New Video “Home” via PureGrainAudio

New Album “One Hallucination Under God” Out September 29th

A Devil’s Din are the psychedelic brainchild of UK-born Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist David Lines; joined on his creative journey by disciple of the Rickenbaker bass Thomas Chollet, and virtuoso drummer Dom Salameh

They are a trio of sonic alchemists that together create a chemical wedding of cosmic chords, constantly seeking the philosopher’s stone of the perfect psychedelic song…and as we all know, it’s not the journey…it’s the trip!

And A Devil’s Din certainly takes listeners on a trip…a journey to the center of the psyche with their superb mind-expanding music created for all the right reasons. Inspired by The Beatles (66,67), Syd Barret-era Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Byrds, Lines describes his band’s music as ‘adventurous, transcendent, melodic, esoteric, rockin’!”.

A Devil’s Din has two fine albums under their collective kaftans, “One Day All This Will Be Yours” (2011) and “Skylight” (2016), and now, as though creating a trans-dimensional triptych, they unleash “One Hallucination Under God”.

Lines has very positive aims.

“A Devil’s Din plays a form of rock music that takes cues from both psychedelic and progressive styles. Our goal is to create adventure though sound, hopefully allowing out listeners to connect with something more along the way. We know it’s only rock ‘n’ roll, but we want to have a positive effect on their psyche, not just through the music, but with words as well…This album is a trip to listen to, full of grooves and hooks and colour and meaning that will resonate with the Experienced Mind!…Overall the theme of the album is about “Perception Versus Reality”, our world is essentially a subjective experience, a reflection of our individual thoughts and judgments!”

“One Hallucination Under God” will be available as of September 29th, 2017.

Their second single and new video “Home” is exclusively premiering on PureGrainAudio.com.

The band comments:

“Home, is a groovy, stoned, fuzzed-out love song about a man who finally has met someone worthy enough to lay down some roots for. Propelled by a pounding, surf-like drum beat, a hook-laden distorted bassline and crunchy-sweet electric guitars, with melotron and Hammond B3 filling the spaces, this song possesses a heavy trance-like hypnotic quality, which is the perfect canvas for our vocalist Dave Lines’ wide-ranging voice; the verses are low and deep, and the chorus rises high as he emotes the classic declaration of amorous intent.”

TheObelisk Video Premiere: Montreal Psychedelic Rock A DEVIL’S DIN “Eternal Now”

“‘Eternal Now’ opens the album. It’s an upbeat song with a snazzy guitar riff and verse sung in three-part harmony. The chorus is the closest thing we have to a pop song, but when pop wasn’t a disposable, corporate-driven product. Overall, the theme of the album is about ‘Perception Versus Reality,’ how our world is essentially a subjective experience and a reflection of our individual thoughts and judgments. This idea is perhaps best expressed by semanticist Alfred Korzybski’s dictum, ‘The map is not the territory.’ Songs like ‘Sea of Time,’ ‘Eternal Now,’ ‘Where Do We Go?’ and the title-track all touch on this theme: how we are born into a reality and then conditioned into accepting that this version of reality is ‘it’… And anyone who’s been on the Psychedelic Path will tell you otherwise.”

Track Listing:
1. Eternal Now (3:25)
2. Brave New World (4:26)

Montreal’s ECKMAN DREDGE Premiere Debut Single “Get Away Closer’ On PureGrainAudio

The mysterious mind of Montreal’s Eckman Dredge is finally being revealed with the debut of his first single “Get Away Closer” premiered on PureGrainAudio.com. The track off his forthcoming debut self-titled album produced by Glen Robinson (Voivod, GWAR) with mastering by Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, Muse) and is planned for release later this fall 2017.

“On behalf of myself and the wonderful musicians I serve with, thank you for engaging with our music. The opportunity to connect with people is why we do what we do. Love always!” – Eckman Dredge.

Listen to “Get Away Closer” at the the following link: http://puregrainaudio.com/audio/eckman-dredge-unveils-stream-of-new-single-get-away-closer-exclusive-premiere

To Eckman Dredge, the world is a strange and dangerous place. But those of courage can break through its placid surface and peer at the naked mystery of life. They can open their eyes and escape the dull monotony of an existence lived as it is served. They can reach out and hold firm to that which lies beyond; pulling themselves along. And what do they see out there? A chance, an opportunity. A burning moment of singular choice that can reveal a path of discovery beyond the shackles of assumption.

Welcome to the journeys of one who lives beyond. These are the experiences of a man; of a warrior wandering the planes of greater realities. This is the journey of Eckman Dredge. For him, and those like him, there are no guarantees. Nothing is given. But out here there is hope; a march towards revelations that lie beyond the horizon. His music; built from a world beyond the one we know; let it take you. Let it push you beyond the limits of yourself. Join him as he plunges headlong into the unknown. Out here the risks are great and deadly. But ahead there is light. Just ahead there is the brightness of day. And that is where we are headed. So sit up, take heart, and follow him to a place beyond the stars.

As Eckman Dredge continues his journey, his experiences find rhythm through a band bearing his name. They pull his message from their instruments and envelope those with an ear for it. One of their first performances where they will preview Eckman Dredge‘s material will be in Montreal on July 17th at Piranha Bar supporting Cave of Swimmers.

Show Dates:
July 17 – Piranha Bar – Montreal, QC w/ Cave of Swimmers
