CHRONIC TRIGGER’s Sporadic New Single “Word of Hate” Addresses The Dangers Of SLC In An Entertaining Way

Utah’s Chronic Trigger is an exuberant and unyielding death metal band that was formed in 2016 and since then they have made a point of showcasing their uncanny ability to blend melody and brutality into one frantic unit of technical hardcore and progressive metal precision. Through several independent, tumultuous tours they have perfected their professional performance and established themselves as a highly driven, unique brand. Known for their unique live shows and ridiculously entertaining and engaging content, they have a new video to delight viewers with, for their single “Word of Hate”, which features the dangers of living in their hometown and a wild assortment of vocal styles. Bassist Adam Smith comments:

“The track Word of Hate is written to describe the many contradictions of our hometown and living as outsiders in a Mormon-run state. In this song we try our best, both lyrically and musically, to expose the incredible natural beauty and social hypocrisy of this extremely closed-minded, judgmental state.”

This single is off their upcoming album “You Can’t Dance To This” slated for a release later this year. The goal of this album is to give the listener a slight bit of insight into the chaotic minds of Chronic Trigger and the many ways you can enjoy music at its finest application while delivering a relentlessly stimulating experience.

Chronic Trigger’s lyrics come from the combined physical and emotional influences provided by vocalist Ryan Pigott. Once the music has been completed and written, Pigott embraces their schizophrenic, chaotic, melodic idea and gives it meaning. Summed up, their inspiration comes from cereal boxes and dumpster graffiti.

The band’s sound is constantly evolving. Not only due to the lack of limitations they set for themselves but also due to their ability to grow and mature throughout member changes while still satisfying the expectations of listeners and fans without straying too far from their brand.

Norway’s Féleth Now Streaming Their Technical Melodic Death Metal Album “Divine Blight”

Mixed and Mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy)

Féleth, from northern Norway, is now streaming their second album “Divine Blight”, which they see as a solid step up from 2020’s “Depravity”. They take on real-life events and put them to provocative music best described as melodic death metal with a healthy dose of technical death metal added in. The lyrical themes are often inspired by things that vocalist Espen Dagenborg finds massively wrong such as politicians waging war, being greedy, and also how humans can be extremely hateful against others. Then again there are also songs that are somewhat purely fictional, mostly showcasing his lyrical style.

As Féleth was the continuation of a former thrash metal band, IronBound, it’s natural to say that they started out as a thrash death band. As the then-young boys started to discover the joys of death metal the sound evolved more toward that. Along with the newfound joy came the struggle, for death metal wasn’t easy to play. After finally mastering the ways of death metal and having released “Depravity” disaster struck. The now not-so-young boys had developed a taste for technical death metal and big hooks. When the time came to work on “Divine Blight” they already had a handful of finished songs to choose from, each one a work of art – melodic, technical, brutal art. The band comments:

“After getting signed with our new label “Rob Mules Records” and playing some pretty sick gigs at both Buktafestivalen and Tons of Rock, we’re super stoked to release our new album “Divine Blight”. It was a long and tedious process of selecting, practicing, and recording, but the result will speak for itself. Our best album thus far. It’s a collection of stories based on the dystopian path humanity is set on. We felt that throughout this new journey of an album we’ve refined our songwriting and successfully achieved a style that’s not only ass-whoppingly brutal, but also more complex emotionally and lyrically. It is clear that we’ve got multiple influences and styles throughout the album which all contribute to a massive sonic package. It’s definitely a death metal album with some subtle takes on some of its many subgenres. Two and half years after our debut “Depravity” we’re ready to present ‘DIVINE BLIGHT’.”

The album was mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy) and the album artwork was done by Kahinienn Graphix. The Northern Norwegian technical death rock is recommended for fans of Fit For An Autopsy, Inferi, and Soreption.

““Majesty” is an exciting introduction to the differing styles and techniques that Féleth intertwine in their songwriting, drawing together ingredients from technical and melodic death metal in a white-hot rush that nevertheless is home to some bone-smashing grooves. “Avarice” puts those genre ingredients on display again, but expands the musical palette and makes the song an even ore multi-faceted and atmospheric experience. New Album Out! “The Violence Sessions”

Florida’s deathcore all-stars Kill The Imposter released a new album last month and have a new music video for the closing track “Unfit Coward”, featuring Taylor Barber of Atlanta’s Left To Suffer premiering on NoCleanSinging HERE.

The song is based on a real story and is about people who talk shit publicly, but apologize privately. The kind of person that vocalist Johnny Nobody doesn’t care for. He continues to explain the main lyrical focus for KTI:

“It definitely doesn’t come from anywhere happy. However, at the same time, I’d like to think I can inspire people to do better through my bad experiences. I know that sounds weird but “The Tommy Hewitt Diaries’ is all about vengeance on someone that commits child abuse. Almost a ‘what the f@#$ do you think created Leatherface?’.”

New Album “The Violence Sessions” Out May 28th

Florida’s Kill The Imposter has a new lyric video out for their single “Mace”, giving a glimpse into the upcoming violent, angst-filled EP “The Violence Sessions”, the third release from KTI, following 2019’s “The Decimation” and 2020 “A Strain Of Agony”.

Lyrically “The Violence Sessions” comes from a place of frustration and overall redemption for those frustrations. Highlighting world issues and also very close-to-home relationship problems. KTI truly hope the fans feel something powerful enough to move them. Guitarist Danny Arrieta shares the method in the madness:

“The lyrics drive home all the rage and anger I pour into the music to create this wave of violence that washes over you and needs release”. 

Vocalist Johnny Nobody adds:

“I think the whole idea of KTI is to create something that forces a response. We like to provoke movement or thought. If it’s violent (moshing) then so be it. So as far as music affecting me lyrically I would say that if I can’t control my head from banging I would write something that accompanies that. I do write to the music as opposed to writing before I hear the song. I may jot down a phrase or something I can build off of but mostly it’s the music the affects my mood.”

KTI members have come from local and national acts with large followings and have come together as an apocalypse captured in a bottle – ready to be unleashed. They work collaboratively, steel sharpening steel, to produce a violent yet tight sound that demands attention and movement.

Florida’s deathcore act Kill The Imposter have a new single out “Dongan Hills” in support of their upcoming album “The Violence Sessions”. Those who have seen KTI live know that the band brings non-stop energy and that vocalist Johnny Nobody can be seen swinging from the rafters or jumping from bar to bar, but this vigor isn’t restrained to the live show, it can be felt on their recordings and in their music videos and this new single is no exception.

“Dongan Hills” is the second track off the pumping new album, it is named after a place in Staten Island, NY that Nobody would take a train to and try to escape life, but he’d always end up getting in more trouble.

“The Violence Sessions” are the third release from KTI, following 2019’s “The Decimation” and 2020’s “A Strain Of Agony” EP. Reflecting back to earlier work, Nobody quotes about the band’s evolution:

“I think the four of us come from not insanely different places, but different enough that we had to create our own sound. I mean, we didn’t invent the wheel for sure, but I think me trying to put my NYHC roots in everything helped guide the boat a bit. So at the beginning very simple beat-down riffs moved to a now more guided route. I mean we had to figure out who we were and weren’t.”

KTI don’t half-ass anything, each song they write starts with a riff and gets hammered to precision until they can wait to play it in a set. According to them, “when we get those goosebumps listening back to demos – that’s when we know it’s ready for the masses to enjoy.”

Angry and heavy, Kill The Imposter is recommended listening for fans of Bodysnatcher, Emmure, and Thy Art is Murder.

Kill The Imposter is an in-your-face, no-holds-barred deathcore onslaught hailing from Orlando, USA. They have a new album coming out in May of 2021 and it promises violence, rage, and a monstrous barrage of breakdowns, screams, riffs, and blast beats.

“The Violence Sessions” is a seven-track album, and the third released from the band following “The Decimation” (2019), and “A Strain Of Agony” (2020). The upcoming offering is pure chaotic energy, something that current fans will recognize and new fans will revel in.
