Western Canada’s decibel breaking festival LOUD AS HELL is proud to announce the 2020 line up for its ninth year of heavy metal and camping in the prairie badlands of Drumheller, Alberta. Roaring from the Dinosaur Downs Stampede Grounds from July 31st to August 2nd, this year’s festival headliners over the 3 nights will include Denver’s extreme metal titans ALLEGAEON, Toronto heavy metal acrobats SKULL FIST plus brutal progressive death from Vancouver’s NECK OF THE WOODS. The line up also features an array of supporting acts from across Canada and beyond that includes bilingual death metal from Quebec’s INSURRECTION, Toledo, OH deathcore THE CONVALESCENCE, Mexican thrashers LEGACY, Edmonton warriors RAVENOUS along with the explosive fury from Vancouver’s WEST OF HELL among many more from the 41 bands performing (full line up listed below).

With a month to go… villains and heroes alike will once again come together on August 10, 2019 to enjoy a buffet of power metal, arcade games and other nerdy delights at the third Mad With Power Festival in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. This one-day fest boasts seven kickass bands featuring Theocracy, Lords of The Trident, Judicator, Helion Prime, Novareign, Widow and Fiakra playing a variety of power metal along with an exclusive appearance from Phillip Ahn, M.D. the actor who played Shang Tsung on Mortal Kombat II.

In celebration of the event, the festival has put together a top 10 fun facts list for attendees.

1. Shang Tsung will STEAL YOUR SOUL
– Dr. Phillip Ahn, AKA Shang Tsung from Mortal Kombat 2 is this year’s guest of honor! Meet the legend and challenge him to a bout, but be prepared for him to steal your soul if you lose!

2. Mead On Tap
– Local mead legends Bos Meadery has created a custom mead for Mad With Power fest, which will be available on tap! Enjoy the sparkling mix of cranberry, tamarind, and black currant!

3. Indie Arcade Cabinets
– Rare and independent cabinets will be featured at this year’s fest, including fan-favorite “Death Ball” and space shoot-em-up Cosmotrons!

4. Giveaway Bags
– The first 100 people through the door will receive a custom Mad With Power drawstring backpack, free! Perfect to hold your merch purchases!

5. Free Compilation CD
– The first 100 people will also receive a free metal compilation CD!

About:

Mad With Power – the Midwest’s only arcade and heavy metal festival – was a fest built out of spite. Angered by other fests making and breaking promises to him over and over again, fest founder Ty Christian did the only rational thing: make his own fest – and make it better – by filling venues to the brim with free-play arcade and pinball games!

Now in its third year, Mad With Power fest continues to highlight up-and-coming bands in the power metal, thrash metal, and traditional heavy metal sub-genres and attracts more and more concertgoers with new exclusives every year. In just a few years, the fest has created an official drink (Bos Meadery’s “Mad With Power” mead, available on-tap), shocked fans with power metal opera battles, and crafted unique experiences like a playable “heavy metal-themed video game museum” with the help of local sponsors.

The fest has grown year-by-year, and continues to attract attendees from not only the midwest, but across North America and Canada as well!

Bio about founders:

Ty Christian is the vocalist for the band Lords of the Trident and the founder of Mad With Power fest. Ty has been playing in, touring with, booking, and managing bands since 1999, and was a roadie and mixing engineer for bands such as Steppenwolf, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Molly Hatchet, and the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Ty is also the creative director of the Madison Area Music Association – a charity organization that raises funds to put instruments and music education into local schools – and prides himself on being a leader of the DIY musician movement.

Western Canada’s Armstrong Metal Fest reveals its 2019 line-up for its 11th annual mountain moshpit taking place on July 12th and 13th at the Hassen Arena in Armstrong, BC. A gathering like no other in the Okanagan Valley, Armstrong Metal Fest brings forth a horde of metalheads for camping and headbanging over two days. This year’s line up features headliners ORIGINwho will unleash onto the masses a full-blown sensory assault of tight, taut, and technical death metal amplified by flashes of grindcore and groove along with goblin tyrants NEKROGOBLIKON plus an onslaught of over 30 bands that includes Parisian extreme metallers BETRAYING THE MARTYRS, WAKE, ENTHEOS, Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2018 Champions CENTURIES OF DECAY and Slovenia’s WITHIN DESTRUCTION (full line up listed below).

For 10 years running, West Metal Entertainment and Armstrong Metalfest has not only fostered the talent of hundreds of local bands but brought in well-known, international acts to the sleepy, little Canadian town of Armstrong, British Columbia.

Each year up to 700 metalheads from Canada and USA descend into the picturesque Okanagan Valley and under the blistering sun they spend 3 days camping, taking in over 30 bands, participating in wrestling events and scavenger hunts and catching up with their metal family.

The festival has seen such renowned headliners as Kataklysm, Cattle Decapitation, Archspire, and Beyond Creation as well as emerging artists from across North America. At the end of the revelry, the festival disappears without a trace, leaving the landscape as pristine as it has always been.

Western Canada’s decibel breaking heavy metal festival LOUD AS HELL have opened band submissions for their 2019 line-up being hosted in Drumheller, AB from August 2nd to 4th at the Dinosaur Downs Stampede Grounds. For the last 7 years, Loud As Hell has been presenting one of the loudest Western Canadian metal festivals with non stop headbanging, moshing and camping over 3 days. The party gets so loud that even the dinosaur fossils come back to life!

Last year’s 2018 edition saw another sold out event with FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, INTO ETERNITY, ARCHSPIRE, NINJASPY, WEST OF HELLalong with the over 40 other bands that performed and annihilated the pilgrimage of metalheads from across Canada.

FARMAGEDDON, Western Canada’s loudest open air metal festival is proud to announce it will be hosting its third annual 2015 edition from June 11-14 in Ryley, AB (80 KM East of Edmonton) with a line up of over 30 bands from across the country.

“I’m looking forward to having Farmageddon return for its 3rd year and promise it will dwarf its previous years in terms of attendance, bands and features. Last year’s festival saw Havok headline with a powerhouse line up that included Wretched, Sanktuary, Ironstorm, Psychotic Gardening, Death Toll Rising, Scythia, Kyoktys and many more.

Presently Farmageddon is taking submissions from bands interested in performing at the festival at the following application link here. Deadline to apply is Feb 15th.

For 2015, FARMAGEDDON is an ALL AGES event. The festival strongly suggests that patrons under the age of 18 be under supervision of a guardian over the age of 18. Adults will be issued separate wristbands permitting access to the licensed area. NO ACCESS WILL BE PERMITTED TO THE LICENSED AREA WITHOUT VALIDATION OF GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID! NO EXCEPTIONS!

Camping Registration:

Camping with tents is included with all festival pass purchases, however due to limited space, RV camping is very limited, and will be subject to a $80.00/night fee. The RV must be registered and the fee be paid using the following form, before the vehicle will be admitted into the grounds. Farmageddon Open- Air was conceived in 2012 by Tyson Travnik whom is recognized in the Alberta metal scene through sound engineering duties and promotional services. After noticing the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise, Travnik wanted to re-create the intimate setting and host a festival with no internal borders in the Edmonton area.

After two very successful years, Farmageddon Open Air has proven to be one of the most prestigious metal open-air festivals in Canada with quality production that has been highly regarded by bands and patrons alike. The festival falls into a special category with Travnik setting goals of bringing in top-shelf bands that rarely, if ever play Canada. The costs of doing so are reflected in the ticket price with maximum attendance numbers not being something on the agenda. Keeping an intimate setting between the bands and their fans along with growth of the metal sub-culture to aid in promoting some of the hardest working bands in the country is at the forefront of Farmageddon’s priority.

Each year, the festival has hosted over 30 bands, with the request reaching as far as Europe and Asia. Farmageddon prides itself in only selecting the bands that the organizers feel have proven themselves worthy of the festival. This is not based on show attendance figures, but rather by judging the work ethic of the band throughout the previous year. With many new features and additions planned for Farmageddon 2015, organizers are pushing forward to double the attendance numbers from 2014.
