Saskatoon, Canada’s rising metal force, Pythonic, has announced the release of their first single, “Guiltfeeder”, a blistering preview of their highly anticipated sophomore EP, “Decomposition,” set to drop on December 19, 2025.

“The intro riff just makes it the perfect fit for the lead spot. The sick new lyrics tell of backstabbing friends, the emotional toll it causes, and the unmasking of those backstabbers. A story most people can relate to. The ending of the song definitely is the best part, though. You have the grouped up vocals that transition right into Ryan’s solo. That solo is so masterfully clean you’ll want to just keep replaying it. You also have the rhythm behind it all, which just keeps your head bobbing along. Mix it all together and you’ve got a certifiable banger on your hands,” the band adds.

Pythonic’s forthcoming EP “Decomposition” marks a bold step into heavier, death‑metal territory, pushing the band’s sound to new extremes. The tracks have been “decomposed”, stripped down, sharpened, and rebuilt to spotlight the commanding presence of new vocalist Morgan Warriner and the band’s refined direction. Songs like “Liturgy” showcase their intensified death metal edge, while “Pills” captures Warriner’s versatility as he shifts seamlessly from frantic cadences to bone‑chilling screams. By breathing new life into older material, “Decomposition” revitalizes Pythonic’s catalogue, transforming solid songs into devastating anthems. With Warriner’s guttural power, Max Hiske’s thunderous bass, and Jayden’s relentless drumming, the band reaches its tightest and most ferocious form yet. Mixed and mastered by Reid Paraszczynec of Lucid Distortion Audio, the EP strikes the perfect balance between raw aggression and polished production, delivering a true sonic onslaught.

“These songs needed their fair chance, and Morgan has given them that through his vocal performance. Reid’s mixing brought the next chapter of Pythonic to life the right way,” says guitarist Vincent Kohut.

Lyrically, “Decomposition” explores themes of corruption, drug addiction, toxic relationships, and summoning the devil. Written primarily by Warriner, with contributions from former bassist Alex Conley, the lyrics are raw, personal, and vividly dark.

The EP artwork, created by Danya Lawton, continues the visual legacy of Pythonic’s debut release. Lawton “decayed” the original design with authentic mushroom imagery and a haunting central eye, symbolizing the band’s transformation and heavier direction.

The band will also celebrate the EP with two major live appearances: opening for Canadian metal legends Into Eternity on November 21st at Black Cat Tavern in Saskatoon, and storming the stage at Slaughterfest in Edmonton on December 6th at The Starlite Room.

Upcoming Shows:
Nov 21, 2025 – Saskatoon, SK – Black Cat Tavern (w/ Into Eternity)
Dec 6, 2025 – Edmonton, AB – Starlite Room – Slaughterfest (w/ Display of Decay, Brain Stem, Ages of Ashes, A Modern Prometheus, Cell) – info

Recommended for fans of Lamb of God, Morbid Angel, Devildriver, and Black Dahlia Murder, “Decomposition” will be available on digital platforms on December 19, 2025.

About: Born in Saskatoon, SK, Pythonic is a death‑groove metal powerhouse that fuses the ferocity of Lamb of God, Black Dahlia Murder, and Cryptopsy with its own raw, uncompromising vision. Conceived by guitarist Vincent Kohut as a project free from subgenre boundaries, the band embraces the philosophy that “metal is metal.” Together with lead guitarist Ryan Hunter, Kohut carved out a sound that is aggressive, groovy, thick, and unapologetically dirty, a sonic identity that refuses to be confined. The addition of Morgan Warriner on vocals and Max Hiske on bass has solidified Pythonic’s most devastating lineup to date. Warriner’s guttural range, soaring highs, and earth‑shaking lows has been praised as transformative, while Hiske’s thunderous bass lines add depth and weight to every track. Anchored by Jayden’s relentless drumming, the band operates as a tightly locked unit, delivering a crushing live experience.

““EP 1” is a testament to Pythonic‘s dedication to their craft and their refusal to be confined by sub-genre limitations. Each song is a blend of technical prowess and raw emotion, offering listeners a chance to experience the full spectrum of the band’s capabilities. It is recommended for fans of Machine Head, Trivium and Pantera.” – Metal-Rules (EP01 – 2024)

“Pythonic comes from Canada with ‘Epica’, a track that features fast-paced guitar riffs, heavy drums and an engaging, torn vocal that delivers to listeners the essence of metal and subverts such as alternative, thrash and even melodic, being perfect to the circle and not to leave anyone standing still.” – Os Garot Os Deliverpool (EP01 – 2024)

“Pythonic has an EP for you. Blending Thrash with Old School Swedish Death Metal, the band manages to sound like Entombed but without losing its unique style… So if you have a few minutes of anger to drain, these guys are going to cover you!” – Metal Eclipse Reviews (EP01 – 2024)

“Overall I’m a pretty big fan of this record. If you want something that sounds maybe like an Anthrax or a Slayer record then you really want to check this out. The most dynamic and unique part of this EP, in particular is the vocals are double-tracked and they’re very high in the mix which is something that is somewhat different than a lot of the other metal releases this year which I greatly appreciate. If you want something that has a lot of the thrash guitar element then you’re really going to want to check this out. The guitar and drum parts are fantastic, they really keep the songs very tight even though the vocals are very in your face and they’re usually the the first thing that you would notice with this kind of record but overall this is very strong.” – Brutally Delicious (EP01 – 2024)

Niagara Falls, Canada’s Ivy Gardens is unveiling their lush-sounding, raw and live off the floor sludge rock storytelling album “Death of Don Valley” as they prepare to hit the road across Canada in support of its release on August 29th, 2025 via Paper Cut Recordings.

Before it officially drops, the trio has teamed up with Bravewords for its full stream premiere, which can be heard HERE.

The band comments on their sophomore album:

“Death of Don Valley is the record we had inside us, but couldn’t quite articulate for several years. Musically, it’s a huge leap in a more experimental direction. It’s about death, decay, and the ultimate destruction of the world around you. Everybody knows of some sort of small natural space that gets slowly encroached upon until only a shell remains. The pond beside the highway, the wetlands behind the factory. The Don Valley in Toronto is one such natural feature, slowly tainted by industrialization until it can’t support any of the life that it used to. After touring for several years, we grew a lot as musicians, and only after really honing all of this material live for about a year, we felt we were ready to get it tracked and send it into the world. We recorded everything live off the floor, and Frank, our engineer, had heard nothing beforehand and had no idea what we actually sounded like going into it. Eventually, he asked us, ‘How do you determine what becomes a 2-minute song, and what becomes a 9-minute song?’ Pure instinct, Frank. Here it is.”

Formed in the unlikely crucible of a Princess Auto parking lot, Ivy Gardens began with a simple desire to shred through Rush instrumentals and explore the outer reaches of heavy music. Now, following their acclaimed first full-length “Goon” released in 2024, the band takes a daring leap into more dour, experimental terrain. “Death of Don Valley” presents a concept album steeped in decay, lyrically and sonically portraying the slow death of natural spaces like Toronto’s Don River, drowned by industry and time.

Ivy Gardens’ influences are vast, ranging from progressive icons like Rush, Yes, and King Crimson to sludge pioneers like EYEHATEGOD and Iron Monkey. Their sound blends elements of stoner metal, sludge, math rock, and progressive rock, creating an unpredictable listening experience that takes the listener through a series of emotional and sonic landscapes.

Fans can expect a live experience unlike any other as Ivy Gardens is hitting the road for a cross-Canada tour in kicking off on August 29th in St. Catharines, ON, and will wrap up in Victoria, BC on October 25th (dates listed below).

“Death Of Don Valley is a wonderfully eccentric, off-beat and demented slice of Sludge/Stoner Metal that demands your full and undivided attention.” – Outlaws of The Sun

“First of all, can we just give a lot of overdue appreciation to the fact that there are still hard-gigging bands out there that play with the kind of urgency as IVY GARDENS. You can damn AI music straight to fiery pits of hell; this is where the real sound and fury is at. Another thing I appreciate about Ivy Gardens is all the dark humor. You see it in their new music video, with its Red Fangish tongue-in-cheek adventure. This one features a vintage style videotaped car chase, which would play well off a viewing of V/H/S/94. …Fake blood ahead… We’re arrested right away by the powerful strumming of the guitar as “Eye Witness” opens. Drumming is crazy, a frenetic attack of Animal from The Muppets, chasing that beat all over the place… Of course, the classic organ-sound of the keyboards adds a certain kind of spookiness to it all, which can be at once cheeky, mysterious, and cool. I myself love this send-back to ‘60s rock, while respecting that Ivy Gardens brings us a sound that clearly feels “now.”” – Doom and Stoned

“With the premiere of the video for “Burden” below, Niagara Falls progressive sludge trio Ivy Gardens announce their second full-length, Death of Don Valley, will be out Aug. 29 through Paper Cut Recordings. The follow-up to the sans-bass three-piece’s well-received 2024 debut, Goon, is introduced with the lead single “Burden,” which you can find the band playing live in the video premiering below. This ethic would seem to be the crux of Death of Don Valley itself, hence “live off the floor sophomore album” in the headline below. “Burden” benefits from the lack of trickery behind it, from the visually-evidenced capacity on the part of guitarist/vocalist Andrew Blackborow, key-specialist/synthesist Sebastian Hogg and drummer/vocalist Joe Zandwyk, the latter two of whom are also responsible for samples on the record, and while one can hear a bit of Melvinsian do-rock-and-make-it-weird ethos underlying, “Burden” brings charge to coincide with its telltale rhythmic intricacy — not quite doing ‘math’ in the musical sense, but not far off. They say the album’s more complex than the last one, and even if it was tracked entirely live with no overdubs, “Burden” bears that out.” – The Obelisk

“Throughout the album Joe Zandwyk’s drums almost dance like swirls of sand through the desert. Sebastian Hogg’s keyboard adds a great layer on top of Andrew Blackborow’s guitar playing. While no one particular instrument claims the spotlight, the instruments all have the freedom to claim their own space in the gritty depth that is Ivy Gardens and Death of Don Valley.” – The Metal Pit

“Ivy Gardens bringing ‘sludge-soaked, high-decibel’ rock to Barrie” – Barrie Today

Formed in early 2019, Red Deer, AB’s Art Of Attrition is a band that redevelops “the typical” deathcore sound by delivering aggression with melody, atmosphere with intricacy, and brutality with technicality. Combining ferocious work ethic with refined musicality, their songs challenge the notion that deathcore cannot evolve or be unique.

In July 2024, they unleashed their EP “…And It Will All End Forever” to follow their 2023 debut album “Void Eternal”. As a whole, their latest EP brought listeners disgusting breakdowns, matched by speed and intense guitar work that channeled emotions such as anger and anxiety. Hauntingly memorable solos gave way to epic choruses that share relatable moments. A whirlwind of deathcore it’s matched with classic black metal, and capitalized with bits of groove and creative drum parts.

On February, 14th, 2025, Art of Attrition will unshackle their first single of 2025, entitled “Subserviate & Decay”. The new song is an experimentation of some particular ideas that the band has over the years. With such diverse musical tastes, Art of Attrition is bringing some evolutionary ideas into their material for a new world order to “throw down”.

“Since the speed is incredibly fast, you get the feeling that every song is a 10-minute epic, but they are all in the 5-minute plus/minus direction. But epic is a good keyword, because every single piece has such technical power that you really need several runs to understand, what’s actually going on and that’s what brings tears of joy to the eyes of every metal fan who loves the technical hidden refinements. A small highlight is probably the last of the four songs, as well as the title song “…And It Will All End Forever”, which expresses the band’s entire range and makes it clear to everyone, what is meant by “Technical Deathcore”.9.5/10” – Hellfire Magazin

““…And It Will All End Forever” rises to the surface with the speed and dexterity of bands like Archspire. Mesmerising lead guitars shine brightly above the powerhouse rhythms, momentary silences between anvil heavy sections giving fleeting respite. A gargantuan monolithic breakdown is the last thing you might expect to hear on a track with such stunning lead guitars but the band brought it and it is nothing short of brutal, contrasted perfectly the delicate piano fade out. It’s hard to fathom how this band are not on a major label because this record is sublime [9/10]” – metal Noise

“Blackened technical deathcore… brutal and pissed off too” – 89.9 WORT FM – The Moshpit (Madison, WI)

“But then the EP’s ending title track. Holy fuck do they knock it out of the park with 6 minutes of killer melodies, a killer chorus and key/choirs, and a massive breakdown that make it an absolutely killer track, maybe one of the year’s best in the genre” – Teeth of The Divine

What the press is saying:

“Located an hour and a half east of Calgary is the town of Drumheller, Alberta. With a population in the neighborhood of 8000 and existing smack dab in the middle of Canada’s desert and dinosaur country, it’s not a place one would immediately associate with any sort of metal scene, let alone a big-ass outdoor metal fest. But that’s where you’d be wrong. Going into its 11th year, the Loud as Hell Festival is set to roll on August 4-6th with the likes of Narcotic Wasteland, Jungle Rot and Incite headlining three days of metallic fun featuring 40 or so bands, including The Convalesence, Gorgatron, Necronomicon, Untimely Demise, Eyes of Perdition and more.” – Decibel Magazine

“Western Canada’s loudest heavy metal festival brings fans to town more known for dinos than drum solos.” – CBC Calgary

“What’s more metal than the badlands? Drumheller, AB, is known for being the dinosaur capital of the world — but it’s also the home of the Loud as Hell festival, an event celebrating none other than the loudest music known to man (and, by proxy, prehistoric reptile).” – Exclaim!

“Loud as Hell – one of Canada’s top underground metal festivals – was a metal family reunion. If you walked around the grounds, where tents covered the landscape like flowers, you would experience concert goers laughing, hugging and just enjoying the moment. The music played non-stop and the people were some of the best you’ll meet. What else do you need? If you’re a metalhead fan, mark it down for next year because this is a concert you don’t want to miss.” – Blackfalds Life

Edmonton, Canada’s Culled started in early 2017 with the intention of embracing the contrast of slow crushing sludge and doom riffs with the blistering speed and chaos of grindcore ripe with messages of peace, and love that implore the need for empathy in today’s unpredictable and unstable political climate. Now in 2024, they have their second album coming out, “Psycles” on July 26th. Ahead of the full release, they have a single “Coercion” out, that delves into topics of authoritarianism as they comment on below:

“We wanted to give a taste of where we can land when we are not directly focused on the contrasts between chaotic grinding speed against sludging doom. Mid-paced groovy with an infectious and memorable hook helping to give weight to the lyrical theme of corruption being the core of authoritarianism and an essential need of our society, and our one true religion.”

The band goes on to explain that the groove in the middle of the EP adds a touch of rest from the chaos and a repeating theme that can bring the message home. Featuring members with a historical impact in the Western Canadian heavy music scene, including former and current members of bands such as Thorazine, Disciples of Power, WAKE, and Exit Strategy, Culled is known for their intensity of performance and message of integrity fueled with compassion and empathy. They are recommended for fans of Nasum, Pig Destroyer, and Neurosis.

“Political tensions in the world are running high, and Culled want you to know that they’re not down with it. Combining their searing take on the state of the world with a sludgy grind assault, Culled back their statements with tight songwriting and aggressive performance. On their debut album Thin the Herd, Fail to Learn, Culled wrap angular grindcore in thick sludge, spitting out blasts, mosh parts and distinctive vocals that reflect the band’s disgusted mindset.” – Decibel Magazine

“Sludge grind is one of those things that shouldn’t really exist and yet somehow Culled make it work. They sound absolutely colossal on their new track “Contagion,” a nearly nine minute epic that manages to combine everything that makes the band great. The stop/start madness and dynamic interplay of this song speaks to the band’s talent as songwriters. Meanwhile, the guitar tone alone speaks volumes to what this band has come to represent. With punk fringes on some truly punishing tracks, it’s hard not to be fascinated by the morbid horror of the band. The lead single, ‘Contagion,’ is a mesmerizing ode. It comes from their upcoming LP, Thin The Herd, Fail To Learn, due out October 26th on Hibernation Release. It’s hard to balance two genres that seem so diametrically opposed whilst simultaneously sneaking in moments of pure explorations into the sublime. Experimental, genre bending and clearly forward thinking, ‘Contagion’ is a triumph for a rising force.” – Metal Injection

“Edmonton, AB grind outfit Culled push the boundaries of the genre on their debut full-length, Thin the Herd, Fail to Learn. The quartet incorporate slow, sludgy grooves and doom-laden riffs into their discordant grindcore, resulting in a contrast of sounds that is jarring yet complementary… Thin the Herd, Fail to Learn is an impressive debut that showcases a battle of conflicting sounds throughout its 25-minute runtime. What makes it work is Culled’s thoughtful approach to song composition and structure, along with socio-political lyrical content to match the angst-filled emotions that their music emanates.” – Exclaim!

Prepare to have your senses shattered as Canada’s Display Of Decay unveils the chaos and power that can only be found in death metal in their sixth album “Vitriol”, now available as of October 20th from Gore House Productions.

The eight tracks on “Vitriol” will take listeners through distorted riffs colliding with thunderous percussion, creating a maelstrom of sound that leaves no room for compromise. The lyrical content covers a variety of topics ranging from pop culture references like Diablo & Mass Effect to darker undertones of acts of senseless violence and brutality. The band explains more:

“At long last, we are excited to finally announce our long-awaited new record and 6th installment into the discography, Vitriol! This album took a lot of the technical elements of ‘Art in Mutilation’ and blended them with the classic ‘DOD’ style of ‘bang your head, groovy riffs.’ I believe this album follows the trajectory our style has grown over the years, whilst still paying homage to the first few records of our discography.”

“Vitriol” was mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy) and assistant mix engineer Dominic Grimard. The cover art was done by Caelan Stokkermans with graphic design by Logan Wilson. The writing process consists of Sean Watson (Guitar – Vocals) and Brandon Siefert (Bass) slinging riffs back and forth, and getting a rough layout done to bring to the table. With the return of Logan Wilson halfway through the process, it’s become more of a unified process. ‘Familial Feast’ as an example, was written while they were tracking the record, and after they ended up scrapping a tune halfway through the recording process, this one came together extremely well.

“Vitriol” was born of rage and spite fueled further by the chaos and uncertainty felt worldwide over the last few years. It is recommended for fans of Pantera, Morbid Angel, and Cannibal Corpse.

“Vitriol” will be available on October 20, 2023, via Gore House Productions and is available on Vinyl, CD, and Digital at https://orcd.co/vitriol

CEMR MetalFest (Edmonton, AB) Announces 2023 Lineup w/ Display of Decay, Votov, Whorrify, Immortal Possession, Death Perception and more!

CEMR 2023 Festival Spotify Playlist – https://spoti.fi/3Lr5XDX

CEMR MetalFest announces its return in 2023 since being postponed during the Covid Pandemic. This year’s lineup is being hosted in Edmonton, Alberta from September 1st to 3rd at Rendez Vous Pub. The lineup includes headliners Display of Decay, Votov, and Whorrify among many more from the Canadian West Coast. (full lineup below).

Highlights of the festival’s lineup include Friday night headliners and hometown death metal heroes Display of Decay, who will be supporting their latest album “Art In Mutilation” (2018) (Gore House Productions), along with delighting and punishing the audience with an onslaught of new blast beats and evil gutturals from their yet to be titled forthcoming sixth studio offering. They will be supported that same night by Winnipeg old-school death metallers Immortal Possession, who are making a rare performance since first forming in 1989. They will be supporting their latest album and first new extreme music in 20 years, “The Resurrectionist” released in 2022 via CDN Records. Headlining the Saturday night is Votov, also hailing from Winnipeg with their OSDM layered with thrash undertones and primal grooves. Headlining the closing night on Sunday is one of the must-see acts from Calgary, mosh pit tyrants Whorrify, named by MetalSucks as one of Canada’s grinding bands to check out “Their songs are vile-filled but earnest and the performances are sweat-filled and cathartic.” and praised by Absolute Underground, “They have brutal songs that get the pit going which are catchy enough to not be just a bunch of noise, making for memorable live shows.”.

In addition to the headliners, local Edmonton thrashers TYMO are another band not to miss, who will be supporting their latest album “Art of The Maniac” named “one of the best thrash releases of the month (February)!” by Metal Hammer Germany and reveled by Worship Metal as one of The 5 Greatest Canadian Thrash Albums of 2022, “In the mood for a good ol’ fashioned thrashing? Feeling the need for speed? Is it party time? If the answer to any (or all) of the above is/was a resounding “fuck yes!” then Tymo’s The Art Of A Maniac was the thrash album for you… Relentless and, most importantly FUN, Tymo’s clean, crisp lethal riffage and Tim Tymo’s feral barks combined to create a detailed thrash canvas liberally sprayed with blood, sweat, tears, and beers….Bob Ross would approve (probably).”

And trekking all the way from Hamilton, ON, Death Perception making their first appearance in Western Canada to support their blisteringly fast 2021 album “Ashes” (WormHoleDeath Records).

Canada’s FALL OF EARTH Is Now Streaming Intriguing Hybrid Album “From The Ashes”

+ Show Dates w/ Allegaeon (Edmonton May 21st, Calgary May 22nd)

Photo Credit – Christopher Wood – Listen Media, www.listenmedia.ca

Fall of Earth, based in Edmonton, Alberta, is a hybrid metal band led by the growls, screams, and soaring clean vocals of Inuit frontman Alex Rye, who captivates every audience member with his energy and showmanship. The flying fingers of axe slinger Brody Bauer produce a dizzying array of sounds that regularly elicits screams of rapture from the audience. The progressive and primal low end is provided by bass wielder Aaron Winklmeier, as he muscles his way (both literally and figuratively) around the stage. Brendan Meilleur brings the elite combination of high-energy drum fills and expressive grooves, all while contributing vocal harmonies. This intrepid quartet already has one solid release under their belts and now they have returned to deliver another – “From The Ashes”. They get into the details:

“The album is a consistent ride full of ups and downs, with no breaks. We’ve taken our heavy sections and made them heavier, and taken our softer sections and made them more impactful. We have carefully calculated all the dynamics and structures of each song so each second of every track serves a purpose. This record has pieces of us personally etched into the music, so we could share who we are and what our minds look like on an audio basis. As far as the listening experience goes, with all this being said, we hope for our fans to feel the love and importance that music has had on our lives, and pass that onto them through our own interpretation.”

Fall Of Earth is a play on words that reflects their core belief that the world is experiencing a multitude of issues including climate change, war, and mass extinctions that is leading us all to a darker place as a society. The band hopes to use the power of music to help the world recover. “From The Ashes” was produced, mixed, and mastered by Diego Fernandez at Oracle Recording Studios, and the album artwork was done by the band. It is recommended for those who enjoy Trivium, Mastodon, and Gojira.

“From The Ashes” is now available as of April 21, 2023 at https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/fallofearth/from-the-ashes

“Fresh Tracks: Fall of Earth offers a smorgasboard of metal on From the Ashes… What if a band took numerous metal genres and combined them to form a monstrous kaiju? This is the modus operandi of Edmonton’s Fall of Earth. Known more succinctly as “hybrid metal,” Fall of Earth’s sound encompasses death, thrash, progressive, metalcore; you name it, they have it cranked to 11″ – Edmonton Journal

“It is an extreme variety of the form we get here, and one that at the core level is defined by seamless transitions between extreme metal, thrash metal and power metal. But in between we also get quirkier parts more aligned with progressive metal, and more interestingly from a progressive point of view we also get a liberal array of acoustic and semi-acoustic passages and interludes with a more delicate and atmospheric laden style, form and orientation. The vocals come with the same amount of versatility, with harsh and melodic lead vocals being the main forms used. A production to seek out by those with an interest in a powerful and vibrant variety of extreme progressive metal expanded with a liberal array of delicate and atmospheric laden interludes.” – Progressor

“The nine songs present some real diversity in the genre by embracing several different approaches” – Metal Temple

““Medusa,” hits hard and powerful a song that immediately grabs the listener by the throat and never lets go.” – The Median Man

“Fall of Earth are gradually gaining more and more of the city spotlight” – E-Know

“Fall of Earth, is bolting through the scene with their magnificent stage presence and performance. High energy and a sure crowd-pleaser that will leave you wanting more. I’ll admit, these guys blew my mind! I’m a big fan now for sure! Some awesome individuals as well that genuinely show a passion for their craft and a desire to deliver a live show you won’t forget!” – Heavy Metal A Way of Life

About: Wacken Metal Battle Canada is part of an international competition that sees bands from across the country battle each other for the chance of winning their spot among 29 other countries’ champions, and represent Canada in an international battle of the bands at the world’s largest outdoor metal festival: Wacken Open Air. The battles have been hosted at the festival for over a decade giving independent bands the opportunity to showcase their talents to an international audience along with the chance to win multiple prizes.

How it works:

Participating cities will host qualifying rounds plus a city final organized by a local city concert promoter where one band will move forward to the Canadian national final (date and city to be determined). The winner of the national final will move on to perform at the Wacken Open Air 2023 and compete against the winners of 29 other countries in a final global battle. All bands will be judged during battle rounds by respected local music industry representatives.
