NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – April 6, 2021

For fans of Emmure, Thy Art Is Murder, Fit For An Autopsy, Alpha Wolf

Florida’s Kill The Imposter Introduce Pure Chaotic Deathcore With Two Videos Off “The Violence Sessions”

New Album “The Violence Sessions” Out May 28th

Kill The Imposter is an in-your-face, no-holds-barred deathcore onslaught hailing from Orlando, USA. They have a new album coming out in May of 2021 and it promises violence, rage, and a monstrous barrage of breakdowns, screams, riffs, and blast beats.

“The Violence Sessions” is a seven-track album, and the third released from the band following “The Decimation” (2019), and “A Strain Of Agony” (2020). The upcoming offering is pure chaotic energy, something that current fans will recognize and new fans will revel in.

Already, Kill The Imposter has released two music videos for the tracks “Mace” and “Suffer Alone”. “Mace” is likely the only political song the band will ever write, but the takeaway of it is, think for yourselves. People, who have no allegiance to you, are not the people you should be listening to. “Suffer Alone” was written for vocalist Johnny Nobody’s ex-wife as he explains himself:

“I didn’t know a better way to describe the way I felt at my worst with her. I took the idea from the movie “300’ when Leonidas tells the traitor “I hope you live forever”.” He continues to share his thoughts on the full album, “we cannot wait for the fans to get their hands on it, the music is just getting tighter and more violent with each song. The more we work together the better these hits are turning out”

Violent and tight, Kill The Imposter is the remedy for a hard day or the encouragement you need at the gym, they are recommended for fans of Hatebreed, Alpha Wolf, and Dealer.

About:
Kill The Imposter is an Orlando, USA-based deathcore band that was formed in late 2018. Pulling musical inspiration from everywhere, the intention of this four-piece band is to make you move in any capacity you see fit.

Coming from local and national bands, Kill The Imposter brings experience, drive, and mayhem, to the stage. The quartet banded together over a shared love for heavy and violent music, after sharing the stage for one song they knew they had something special, so they sat down together and within a week had 3 songs written and a video lined up. They haven’t stopped since that first sit down, and they won’t stop.

One of the founding members Danny Arrieta (guitar) is the primary music writer getting help with arrangement by Johnny Nobody (vocals). Nick Colvin (drums) carries the aggressive speed and heavy grooves with Wilson Bembry ( bass) definitely sharing and blending the thundering lows and technical playing between all of it.

Since they got together, Kill The Imposter has released “The Decimation” (2019), “A Strain Of Agony” (2020) and “The Violence Sessions” (2021). They have pummeled the stages of Central Florida Metal Fest and Tampa DeathFest and played alongside heavy hitters such as Nile and Terrorizer.

“Edmonton’s Protosequence perform an agile balancing act on the new song “Shepherd” we’re bringing you from their forthcoming EP, Biophagus, a high-wire performance that deftly straddles a stylistic divide without ever losing their path forward.” No Clean Singing

“In the vein of bands like All Shall Perish & Born of Osiris, Protosequence kick proceedings off with the furiously tech riffing of Parasitic, a wild & untamed slab of death metal. That is until a surprising tempo change that brings in some keyboards & more classic metal sounding guitar solo. It’s a damn strong start, one that leaves you wondering just what more Biophagous has to offer.” – Games, Braaaiiins And A Headbanging Life

“Protosequence is an act of quality over quantity.  I get seriously lost in their music, be it through a spine-damaging headbanging session (“DFL”) or stretch of melodic introspection (“Shepherd”).  Biophagous offers up another nice showcase of the band’s skill across a variety of substyles and paces.” – Metal Trenches

“Biophagus is of another caliber, every aspect of it is flawless, and will not only be in my playlist but should be in everyone else’s as well. Whatever you do, do not sleep on this band. Make sure you pick up Biophagus when it releases August 18th! ” – Blood Rock Media

“Incorporating elements from deathcore, technical death metal, and, yes, even djent, Protosequence manages to maintain the listener’s interest while developing an identity that is not only unique to Canada, but to the world. ” – It Djents

“Traversing between djent and technical progressive metal” – Somberlane

“You can compare Protosequence to as many modern metal bands as you want but they’re deserve being called more than “just another scene band”. “Schizophrene’ is more than solid and the new EP will be worth the wait on this showing. Cracking modern tech-death.” – This Noise Is Ours

“This EP is bursting with technical hooks and ripping solos that take more than a few cues from the technical death metal camp.  In fact, if we consider a spectrum between these genres, I would say that Schizophrene falls closer to groups like The Zenith Passage than Whitechapel.  Also, mad props for the seemless shifts between melodic and harsh riffs while maintaining aggression in the vocals.” – Metal Trenches (EP Review Schizophrene)

“Musically speaking, they share as much in common with Periphery as they do with Lost Soul. While there will be some who are turned off by the noise gates and the disparity of the chunky lows and the sharp highs, I think it’s one of the band’s biggest strengths. It represents the merging of two very technical subgenres and presents each of them in the context of the other. It’s kind of a hard thing to explain without listening; check out “Guardian” and follow it up with “Darkness Weeps” for the best illustration of this dichotomy.” – Toilet ov Hell (EP Review Schizophrene)

Protosequence was formed in the spring of 2014 by 5 guys who shared the same goal: create an array of songs that reflected each of them personally. As autumn approached that year, the band started to play in Edmonton, as well as Central and Southern Alberta. Releasing their debut 4 song EP “Schizophrene” in January of 2016, they quickly established a name for themselves in the Edmonton and area metal scene. Bassist Ryan Schaffler left the band in early 2017, with Jacob Teeple filling the vacancy seamlessly. After taking to the road, completing a 10 day tour of Western Canada in June, they hit the studio and released their sophomore 4 song EP “Biophagous” in August of 2017. 2018 saw Protosequence solidify and expand their following around Western Canada. Playing Armstrong and Metallion Festival, touring through BC, as well as sharing the stage with touring acts like The Faceless, Angelmaker, Ingested, Signs of the Swarm, Bodysnatcher, and others. In August, vocalist Joe McKee announced his retirement from Protosequence, with guitarist Kyle Hunter following suit a few weeks later. Protosequence quickly added Josh Hahn to the mix on vocals after seeing him perform with his previous band, Seraphic Nihilist. Shortly after Metallion Festival, the band convinced him to move from Prince George, BC, to the motherland: Edmonton, Alberta. With no luck finding a replacement guitarist, the band pressed on into writing mode.

“The aforementioned lead guitar is actually amazing. If you are a person who likes shredding, I highly recommend this album. Seriously, the solos are fucking cool! […] the vocalist is fantastic. Just saying.” – Mind The Music T.O. (2015)

“Thematically, these guys have also aced their game. They know how to blend music and presentation to a tee, almost developing a narrative around what they do. When it all comes together, it makes for a brilliant experience. All of this is evinced in full on the Red Skies debut album “Iron Sun”. […] This album isn’t merely music – it’s a venture for the ears worth taking.” – The Circle Pit (2015)

“[…] I have been waiting for something like this to come out for a while now. […] All nine songs are original and deserve a listen. Personally, [I think] other metalcore bands should listen to this and take notes.” – Montreal Rampage (2015)

The end of a time and the beginnings of something greater; that is what Red Skies stands for and what its name means to the band members that make up its sound.

From humble beginnings in 2012, the group came together to create a musical style of their own with nothing but their creativity to limit them. Fast, catchy and heavy, their E.P. Identitas (2013) stands as a testament to their reputation as a staple of the Montreal music scene. In the short amount of time the band has been around, they already had the chance to share the stage with many established acts, including: Architects, Enter Shikari, The Acacia Strain, Stray From the Path, Volumes, Being as an Ocean, My Ticket Home, Amity Affliction, For the Fallen Dreams, Obey the Brave, Heartist, Smash Hit Combo, Your Memorial, The Plot in You, The Contortionist, Counterparts, Fit For An Autopsy, Intervals and many more.

In 2014, their hard work was recognized by a large panel of judges coming from all corners of the music industry (Evenko, Extensive Enterprises, The Gazette, Asher Media Relations, etc.) at the “En Route Vers Heavy MTL” contest, during which the band made it all the way to the finals at Virgin Mobile Corona Theatre, under overwhelming participation from the crowd and positive feedback from the judges.

Red Skies continues to push the limits of their identity and sound, striving to create a place for their art and a name for themselves. Their debut record “Iron Sun” (10/13/15) has already received many critical acclaims and keeps doing so as the band spreads their fresh new sound to the masses.

“Very quickly I became a fan of the band through the work of their vocalist Dalyn. His voice is quite unique, being both strangely death metal low and deathcore high at the same time. The riff work of Ryan “Carbomb” Sorensen, and bassist Kevin Student brought a nice brand of brutality with the occasional bit of melody, while Joel Zimmerman (no, not THAT Joel Zimmerman) blasted beautifully on the drums. This is one band that I know Crown of Viserys will be following from here on out. They outright kick ass, and I am honestly a bit surprised they didn’t win.” – Crown of Viserys regarding the Edmonton Wacken Metal Battle Canada (2015)

Biography

Windy City Slaughter draw up dark imagery through their deafening lows, breakdowns, and occasional pig squeals but the lyrical content defies the genre norm by challenging one to face their greatest fears and overcome them.

Their name is meant to draw up a fear of a rogue serial killer, or a furious storm that is unforgiving. This humble four piece hailing from Grande Prairie, Alberta began in 2012 and has been steadily outgrowing their deathcore genre label by delving into more traditional metal compositions. The band is comprised of Kevin S. on bass, The Zim on drums, and Carbomb as their leading guitarist. Windy City Slaughter is committed to developing their live performance as an engaging and loud act that will lure fans from any metal genre. The band plans to tour eastern Canada June 2015 and has currently released a demo and a full length called ‘Alpha’. Make sure to catch this hurricane of brutal metal as they trek across Canada.
