About:
The cloudy beginnings of VESPERIA lay etched in the gorged bodies of former musical projects among the now four-member band. Twisting, writhing and forcing their aural onslaught upon metal audiences across the globe have sincerely ensured the band’s continuity through all the harsh and arduous battles modern metal bands are bound to encounter in their tenures.
Established in 2012 by vocalist/ bassist Morgan Rider, the sound, direction and theme of the music quickly and naturally evolved into the style of fierce and heroic metal the band is now known and praised for.
Shortly after releasing their first full-length album Voyage from Vinland, VESPERIA redefined themselves and further focused their direction with the 2012 demo, The Swordsman. In 2013, the band independently funded and released their 2nd full-length album An Olden Tale, drawing the ears and attention of metal fans around the world and demonstrating their true mastery of their craft. During that same year, the band also independently funded and completed several Canadian tours to support the album.
Early 2015 saw the band enter the studio once again to record some demo material, which would become The Iron Tempests EP. During this time, the band toured Canada from coast to coast and also made an appearance at Wacken Open Air in Germany, where they won the title of 2015 International Wacken Battle Champions, a second time win for the band’s frontman, Morgan.
With their most fierce music written to date and a bounty of opportunity awaiting, VESPERIA continue to hungrily eye 2015 as the year they will make their mark upon the Earth.

OUT NOW! ÉOHUM (French Horn Black Metal) Unleash New EP ”Ealdfaeder”

Montreal black metallers Éohum (pronounced ee-o-um) unleash their new EP ‘Ealdfaeder’ out now as of March 18thvia Mycelium Networks. Recorded at Chris Donaldson’s (Cryptopsy) The Grid, Éohum blend the most gruesome with the cleanest of black and doom metal to create hypnotic riffs with seducing French Horn. The follow up to their debut “Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch”, ‘Ealdfaeder’ features a line up of band founder Jeremy Perkins (guitar) who birthed the band from a poetic project, the return of Annie Perreault (French Horn/Flute), Sylvain Dumont (Guitar), Barrie Butler (Vocals) plus new comers Cesar Franco (bass) and Luca Belviso (drums) whom have made up the band up for a year now along with a special guest recording from drummer Simon Mackay (The Agonist) on tracks 2-4-5 for the release. All are focused on the distinct grassroots of old school, very heavy progression that has flourished since last year to give way to a distinct path, sound and image with each member sharing common ground on the message, beliefs and ideas behind Éohum.
Lyrically the EP is inspired by poems written by Perkins on the loss of culture and tradition due to greed and colonization across the globe.

Band founder Jeremy Perkins comments on ‘Ealdfaeder’:

“The EP speaks generally about the lost voice of past cultures who were colonized and the decaying relationship humanity has with nature due to the societies we live in. The loss of traditions we held and relationships we had with nature.”

About:

Emerging from the frightening expanse is an atmospheric force called …From The Deep whose ever changing style keeps fans of metal on their toes. Each album has a continuous story flowing from one to the next while thematically focused on the insignificance existence when faced with the vast intricacies of the universe, esoteric literature, consciousness, and the exhaustion of modern life. The band has an inclination for the absurd and deeply disturbing in terms of instrumentals and lyrics.
Nearly all the members have gotten their sea legs in the Ottawa scene. Vocally, Graham Cwinn is an intimidating force bellowing from hell while Jacob Sparling and Mike Birch tear their guitars to shreds with the utmost precision. Dave Solomon sounds like a thunderous force rumbling within each song as he slams his bass. The final element that weaves together the band’s sound is Nicholas Kaminski on drums who dominates the pace for the music and acts as an conductor demanding attention and obedience, musically.
Each opus swells like the tide with a natural yet rhythmic rise and fall making the tension in each song more visceral and the release more satisfying. Musically, the band is as unpredictable as the changes in the sea by straddling between nefarious black metal and downtrodden thrash. Vocally, the band is a tortured soul twisted by the waves and swept to sea crying out for rescue.

…From The Deep released their most terrifying piece to date ‘The Absurd Horror’ (July 2015), which is available on Bandcamp at https://fromthedeepband.bandcamp.com/. Featuring epics written about Greek myths and human survival, this is one band that will leave you with the feeling of being hopelessly lost on an unrelenting ocean, clinging to life.

NefariousRealm Premiere ÉOHUM ‘Ode To A Martyr’ (French Horn Black Metal)

New EP ‘Ealdfaeder’ Out March 18th

Show Dates:
March 17 – Montreal, QC – Piranha Bar (CD Release Show) – Event info

Montreal black metallers Éohum have teamed up with Nefarious Realm for the premiere of their fourth single ‘Ode To A Martyr’ off their upcoming EP ‘Ealdfaeder’ set for release on March 18th.

Band founder and guitarist Jeremy Perkins comments:

“Ode To A Martyr” is the more doom influenced black metal song of the EP. With a deep guttural and low tone harmony we unleash the pure black riffs with our usual ease.

Thematically I bring forth the realities behind the ; annihilation of tradition, the symbiotic relationship a populace has with their hunting grounds and the loss of this relationship due to dogmatic and political rule.

The title reflects to me those whom have gone far to push an idea or stance on socio-cultural  aspects and that finally made great change liberating us of tyranny and oppression.”

About:
Formed in 2010, Éohum (pronounced ee-o-um) is a traditionalist and cultural identitarian band produced from the mind of guitarist Jeremy Perkins to create a relentless, anthemic groove -doom- tinged black metal to emphasize a message clearly depicting people’s lack of interest in the past relationship we held with nature and our ancestral ways.
Originally written as a literal, poetic project by Perkins, his surrounding friends at the time having musical roots and a background in metal, then sprouted the idea for him to create Éohum.

“A book became a music release! Now with a full lineup we have a sound, that is distinct, that is ours.” says Perkins
All written and arranged by Perkins, Éohum debut their release “Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch” in April 2015 that featured a collective of musicians that included guest vocals from Matt McGachy (Cryptopsy) (Tracks 3-4-5-7), Lana Edwards (Intro & Outro), Phillippe Rieder (Track 6), Nick Wybo (ex-Vinyl Hero) on drums, Annie Perreault on French Horn/Trumpet, Sylvain Dumont on guitar, James Heymans on bass and Perkins himself on guitar plus a live line up that featured drummer Simon Mackay (The Agonist) and vocalist Barrie Butler (ex : Tard).
With so much talent from various backgrounds, Éohum blended the most gruesome with the cleanest of black and doom metal to create hypnotic riffs with seducing horns that was injected into the veins of metal fans.
Now in 2016 with their new EP ‘Ealdfaeder’ set for release on March 18th, Éohum features a line up with Perkins (guitar) and the return of Perreault (French Horn/Flute), Dumont (Guitar), Butler (Vocals) plus new comers Cesar Franco (bass) and Luca Belviso (drums) whom have made up the band up for a year now plus a special guest recording from drummer Simon Mackay (The Agonist) on tracks 2-4-5 for the release. All are focused on the distinct grassroots of old school, very heavy progression that has flourished since last year to give way to a distinct path, sound and image with each member sharing common ground on the message, beliefs and ideas behind Éohum.
“The EP speaks generally about the lost voice of past cultures who were colonized and the decaying relationship humanity has with nature due to the societies we live in. The loss of traditions we held and relationships we had with nature.” comments Perkins.
Lyrically the EP is inspired by poems written by Perkins on the loss of culture and tradition due to greed and colonization across the globe.
1- Eurocide :This song speaks of the lost traditions within the distinct smaller cultures of Europe’s in the past colonization periods thousands of years ago, where they lost their relation to nature, faiths and ways of life.
2- Unmasking a world of deceit : Reveals the trading in of our beliefs; ways, quality of food and lifestyles for a fist of coins, routine and fear filled faiths of today’s world.
3- The Apathetic Plague : A song descrying the effects of colonization and capitalism on countries across the globe and the loss of land and ancient people’s perspectives, like for example the Amazon.
4- Ode To A Martyr: A look at today’s deprived, pill driven, technological populace.Humanity leaving behind its core and self-preservation for these delusional lifestyles.
5-Curative Undulations: Speaks of humanities relation to nature and musical traditions and the primordial ways we used healing with music. Curative undulations which means, healing, music/sound waves.
Éohum is recommended for fans of black, doom and death metal in the vein of bands such as God Seed, Death, Hate Forest, Immortal, Neurosis.
Fun Fact About Band Name: Éohum means many Yew trees in old English, Yew tree is the Tree of Life for the English tribes of our past predating most of the Celt languages which blended Latin to their own afterward.
The E without the accent would mean many war horses, so that’s why there is an accent, not because it’s a French word.

About:
With ‘Advent Of The Human God’, NECRONOMICON present themselves at a new height in their long lasting career, which began as early as 1988 with the founding of the band by guitarist and singer Rob “The Witch” Tremblay in the deep northern part of Canadian province Quebec, called the “Fjord of Saguenay”.

The Canadian veterans keep their tracks as gloriously epic as furiously massive and harsh. Songs like “The Golden Gods”, “Unification Of The Four Pillars”, “Crown Of Thorns” and “I Bringer Of Light” tell of experienced songwriting and an eclectic wide range of influences that flow into the sound of NECRONOMICON. Nodding to DIMMU BORGIR and BEHEMOTH to DEICIDE and SUFFOCATION, these extreme metal addicts carve their own sound out of the much cherished ingredients of brutal dark music.

NECRONOMICON have a well-earned reputation for quality by releasing material only when ready and satisfied with the outcome ever since their demo entitled “Morbid Ritual” (1992) firmly established their name within the underground. “The Silver Key” EP (1996) led to mainstream recognition on a national level, but their debut album “Pharaoh Of Gods” (1999) and the sophomore “The Sacred Medicines” (2003) did even more to establish the band as a household name in Canada. “Return Of The Witch” (2010) marked the international break-through for NECRONOMICON, and saw them performing at prestigious festivals such as Inferno (Norway), Ragnarok (Germany), and the Barge To Hell metal cruise among others, while sharing stages with acts such as CRADLE OF FILTH, DIMMU BORGIR, BEHEMOTH, and MORBID ANGEL, to name but a few. Their steady advance around the globe grew considerably in impact by their next full-length “Rise Of The Elder Ones” (2013). Now NECRONOMICON are more than ready for the next step with ‘Advent Of The Human God’. Lay back and enjoy the darkness!

New EP ‘Ealdfaeder’ Out March 18th

Show Dates:
March 17 – Montreal, QC – Piranha Bar (CD Release Show) – Event info

Montreal black metallers Éohum have teamed up with Bravewords for the premiere of their third single ‘Unmasking A World of Deceit’ off their upcoming EP ‘Ealdfaeder’ set for release on March 18th.

Band founder and guitarist Jeremy Perkins comments:

“Unmasking A World of Deceit, this is the brutal blend of death and black with a great old school break for metal lovers, a signature for us now!

The song speaks of the human race led astray by the rupture between us and our origins leading way to a more fabricated and plastic so to speak version of the human animal, where our wisdom and involvement in positive actions is depriving our world and leading, seemingly to a bleak future.”

The EP was recorded at Chris Donaldson’s (Cryptopsy) “The Grid” with a special guest recording from drummer Simon Mackay of The Agonist on tracks 2-4-5 and features a line up with band founder Perkins on guitar along with the return of Annie Perreault on French horn/flute, guitarist Sylvain Dumont, vocalist Barrie Butler plus new comers bassist Cesar Franco and drummer Luca Belviso whom have been part of the line up for the last year. All are focused on the distinct grassroots of old school plus very heavy progression that has flourished since last year to give way to a distinct path, sound and image with each member sharing common ground on the message, beliefs and ideas behind Éohum.

The Exile – Promo Video – Watch here.

Blending a sound that is a complex mix of classical orchestrations, cosmic synths, and extreme metal to portray the epics of parallel worlds, Hickory, N.C. based RAPHEUMETS WELL (Ra-few-mets) bring forth a voyage enriched with lore, fabricated from scratch to show the depth in which represents them as artists.
Formed in 2008, 2011 and 2012 saw their first two demos followed by their first self release full length ‘Dimensions’ unleashed in 2014 that progressively told a larger story portrayed in a complex saga of Atai (ancient architects) who aid in the propagation of sentient life throughout the multi-verse.
From the birth of organic matter to great wars that tear the fabric of space/time, the story of RAPHEUMETS WELL‘s music serves to immerse you into a world of oddities, which is now continued in the band’s sophomore release ‘The Exile’ due out on March 18th, 2016 via Test Your Metal Records.

With their upcoming release, RAPHEUMETS WELL are now streaming their third single ‘Witch of Dark Spire’, which can be heard at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8Rav4FBm0E

Drummer Joshua Ward comments on the single:

“This song is the first great “shift” in the downfalls of the main character in the story.  After being tortured and then remade to fulfill his vengeful mission, he see’s in the distance the dark spire. It was Daasha (the witch), his wife’s trusted friend and counselor to the court that betrayed them.  She exposed Darmak and his family was executed because of it. You can imagine the burning sensation in your gut to have another shot at the person who has done you so wrong. Each riff outlines the emotions and actions that take place in the characters ascent through the dark spire. This song is like the first “boss fight” for us.”

Album Pre-Order available on CD here and digital here.

2. The Blight of Sotath Shal (3:53)

About:

Inspired by the fictitious universe of Sovael, RAPHEUMETS WELL is the name coined to the conscious deity who oversees the anastomosis of the multiverse, the master of portals and inter-dimensional travel. Being personified as a trickster, Rapheumet often creates chaos for unsuspecting voyagers. The word “Well” refers to the gravity wells, which like black holes, are catalyst of change and gateways between the cosmic plains.
“We created this name in hopes of personifying a living gateway between dimensions. We love science fiction and a few of us have extended education and degrees in science.” says drummer Joshua Ward.
Live the band’s concert theatrics is a show truly to entertain the crowd with an opus of metal while still satisfying their story lines in their music creating an intimate but relatable ambiance for fans, especially those who enjoy bands such as Dimmu Borgir, Fleshgod Apocalypse, The Faceless, Emperor, Black Crown Initiate.

Decibel Mag Premiere ÉOHUM ‘Eurocide’ (French Horn Black Metal); New EP ‘Ealdfaeder’ Out March 18th

Show Dates:
March 17 – Montreal, QC – Piranha Bar (CD Release Show) – Event info

Montreal black metallers Éohum have teamed up with Decibel Mag for the premiere of their second single ‘Eurocide’ off their upcoming EP ‘Ealdfaeder’ set for release on March 18th.

Band founder and guitarist Jeremy Perkins comments:

“Eurocide is the opener to our EP, a direct introduction with sounds of flutes and drum, influenced by the Celtic and Gaulic sound. Notes you would of heard in ancient Druidic ceremonies and festivals.

It is a song I keep close to my heart and I believe it can be seen as our manifesto, speaking of the loss of tradition, culture and identity, these being side effects of any form of colonization and indoctrination of any peoples on Earth throughout the globe at any time in history. I think every culture can come together and relate globally.
Musically, it is what I can call a literal progressive structure where we play 9 distinct riffs in a row without returning to a break, before returning to our final riffs and outro as we commenced with and it works great!
Brings us to a place where human societies and nature lived symbiotically and in balance!”

“The Apathetic Plague is the track I am most proud of, the arrangement and overall producing came out strong and clearly depicts Éohum sound as a whole with our full lineup and new skin!

The message projected in this song lyrically reveals our main message and thematic in this EP; being the loss of interest and connection between human cultures and the environment they are from in our greed filled, corrupt world of today. Apathy runs deep replacing our roots and ancestral symbiotic ways!”
