Since the bands inception in 2010, LATF has combined elements of metal, hard rock, and prog to create an unmistakable sound. “Laugh At The Fakes” features Everett Mason (Vocals and Guitar), Galen Weir (bass), Kevin Daliri (guitar) and Chris Avalos (drums).

Their debut six-song EP ‘One Night Only’ was released in 2011 and their 2014 follow-up full-length album, Dethrone the Crown, is scheduled to drop this fall on November 14th. Produced by Greg Dawson and mastered by Andy VanDette (Rush, Dream Theatre, Kid Rock, Deep Purple, Bruce Dickenson, Bif Naked) is a “no filler riffs, just money riffs”, as vocalist / guitarist Mason puts it, “the record deals with today’s most newsworthy topics: War, guns, murder and corruption. After a busy summer releasing their debut full length “721835”on August 1, 2014 plus touring the USA, the United Kingdom (tour recap on PureGrainAudio.com here) and an upcoming opening slot for He His Legend in Kingston, ON November 17th. Ottawa, ON neo-rock nerdsDouble Experience will be touring intimate Ontario venues for their “Night of the Living Room” Tour, which will feature the band literally redecorating and furnishing the venues and stages with comforts from home, including their collection of video games with a TV; perfect for challenging fans to win some prizes in-between sets.

“It was great to finally be home after all the travelling we did, but every musician out there can relate to that constant need to tour,” says Brock Tinsley, guitarist. “We figured there had to be some way to combine the comforts of both.”

Double Experience has also began work on their still-untitled follow up, and will be entering the studio after Christmas.

Over the last few years, the Ottawa, ON based rock nerds have toured across Canada six times, twice in the UK and the States, performing 500+ shows over 100,000 miles and sharing the stage with such acts as Silverstein, Hawthorne Heights, Every Time I Die, Dead and Divine, Lifestory:Monologue to name a few. Their new album ‘721835’ is a curious collection of songs that are inspired by everything the band loves and considers nerdy. Over the last few years, the Ottawa, ON based rock nerds have toured across Canada six times, twice in the UK and the States, performing 500+ shows over 100,000 miles and sharing the stage with such acts as Silverstein, Hawthorne Heights, Every Time I Die, Dead and Divine, Lifestory:Monologue to name a few. Their new album‘721835’ is a curious collection of songs that are inspired by everything the band loves and considers nerdy. Thanks to a group of high school friends fusing their influences into one cohesive sound and the flip of a coin to help choose between band names, Vancouver progressive metal band Quartered’s moniker has certainly given itself meaning over the years.

Inspired by bands like Deftones, Tool and Thrice from early on – Quartered’s focus has always been on conveying moody emotion and mixing heavy grooves, experimental riffs, and hook-laden bridges to paint a picture with lyrics that tell a story while keeping one major goal in mind: longevity.

Heavily influenced by “memories and how senses play a big part in connecting and helping us remember parts of our lives,” the title Eyes and Ears was chosen because “you can’t un-see the things you’ve witnessed and hearing is such a powerful way to trigger memories,” explains vocalist Greggor Williams.

THE BODY POLITIC Announce Western Canadian Tour (AB, BC) w/ Quartered + FREE EP Download of ‘Egressor’

Nanaimo, BC six-piece powerhouse The Body Politic are teaming up with Vancouver. BC prog metallers Quartered for a Western Canadian tour in Alberta and British Columbia. The tour will be in in support of both bands’ releases The Body Politic‘s EP ‘Egressor’, available for FREE download here and Quartered‘s upcoming album ‘Eyes And Ears’ due out on October 7th and now streaming onMetalNationRadio.ca here .

About: The Body Politic’s EP ‘Egressor’ was released September 16th to follow up their 2011 debut album ‘All Too Human’. Taking their name from a Clive Barker short story and shifting gears from jazz (which most of the members studied at Vancouver Island University) to progressive metal, the band combine poly-metric grooves, aggressive screams and soaring vocal melodies to push the boundaries of modern metal music with technically impressive musicianship. Their emotionally charged songs incorporate an element of playfulness that has lead THE BODY POLITIC to stand out in a vast metal crowd and to perform opening slots for Tesseract, Protest The Hero and Scale The Summit plus multiple Western Canadian tours with their evolution.

Toronto Alt-Metallers BLIND RACE Post ‘Come And Get It’ EP Teaser + Indie Week Performance At Cherry Cola Oct.16th

Toronto, ON alternative metal band Blind Race is now streaming the teaser for their upcoming EP ‘Come And Get It’ due out on November 18, 2014. The EP is produced by Mike Langford whom has worked with upcoming and established artists such as Evans Blue, Parabelle, Charlie Hope, Rains, Hawksley Workman, Sloan, Ian Thornley (Big Wreck), Jeff Martin (Tea Party), Crash Karma, Art Of Dying, Rex Goudie, and Tupelo Honey plus was mastered by Chris Crerar at Toronto’s fame Metalwork Studios. The powerful, heavy, dark yet bright, five track record is inspired by the many facets of life itself with song titles such as Hypocrite, title track Come And Get It, Truth or Dare, Hopeless and Gone.

About:

What started as two brothers and their best friend getting together for some freestyle jams and demo recordings in 2005 soon evolved into enough written material for two EPs and the birth of a new full-blown band, Blind Race, in 2007.

Drawing inspiration from their love of fast cars and the intrigue of driving them blind, as well as modern-day racial issues and the idea that we are all the same, the award nominated (Toronto Independent Music Awards: Best Live Metal Act Nomination (2012), Best Metal Act Nomination (2010)), Blind Race arrived at a name packed with meaning to match its melting pot sound.

Putting emphasis on musical identity and creativity, the then Toronto four-piece released Seeing Red in 2008, unleashed Lost in 2012 and grew to a five piece that is now ready to unveil its third EP, Come and Get It.

Going back to raw, air thrusting, 7-string powered tracks such as “Come and Get It” and “Hypocrite” to eastern influenced charismatic progressions in “Truth or Dare” and Latin derived contrasts of “Hopeless”, this EP is just the tip of the iceberg, which is the diverse style of Blind Race. All the music in this EP was written using a very simple philosophy by guitar player Costas Kentros. Just play what you feel. “With the initial riff of each song, the gates just opened and the music flowed out and created a statement for each song. From love to hate, to truth or dare, standing your ground and those times when you just want to kill the pain with a bottle of Jack. These songs cover our most common situations and emotions.” says Kentros.
