0 Calgary’s GODFALL Announces Western Canada Tour Dates + New Single “Default”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 2, 2026

Calgary’s GODFALL Announces Western Canada Tour Dates + New Single “Default”

Calgary’s genre‑defying five‑piece Godfall return with their most introspective and hard‑hitting release, the new single “Default.” The track captures the suffocating repetition of living life on autopilot, the endless cycle of tasks, obligations, and burnout that leaves no room for surprise, growth, or self‑reflection. The band describes the song as a wake‑up call, a reminder that life is happening now, not after the to‑do list is finished.

To celebrate the release, Godfall will hit the road this October for a run of Western Canadian tour dates, bringing their high‑energy, emotionally charged performance to fans in British Columbia’s Okanagan and Alberta.

“Godfall will be hitting the road to cover Alberta and making our BC debut in Kelowna to support our new single, Default’s release. We know the best way to still connect with fans old and new is by playing live, singing, and moshing together, and we are more than excited to bring our signature energy to new stages!” adds guitarist Omer Khan.

Tour Dates:

October 19 – Kelowna, BC – Unleashed Brewing
October 25 – Edmonton, AB – Rendez Vous Pub
October 26 – Red Deer, AB – The Vat
October 27 – Calgary, AB – Rec Room

As with all Godfall releases, “Default” was shaped through full‑band collaboration. Guitarist Omer Khan sparked the foundation of the track, bringing the initial riff and vibe that guided the vocal direction. Vocalists Karina Khristova and Abel Boban crafted lyrics that complement the music’s tension, choosing words, syllables, and melodies that highlight the emotional peaks of the instrumentation.

The band’s writing process remains fluid and democratic, with ideas refined, reworked, and sometimes cut entirely if they don’t serve the song. This commitment to quality over quantity continues to define Godfall’s evolution.

Every member of Godfall comes from a different country and speaks a different first language, creating a melting pot of influences that shape their unique sound. Their music blends heaviness, melody, emotional storytelling, and raw grit, a mix fans often compare to Bad Omens and Evanescence, though the band prefers to let their own identity lead the way.

“Default” marks another step in Godfall’s ongoing refinement of their sonic identity, shifting between phases of anger, melancholy, and soaring melody while staying true to the heart‑first approach that defines their catalog.

“I think Default will be a pleasant surprise since we are constantly refining our sound and working on our songwriting skills. Ultimately, we want our fans to have a Godfall song for any kind of day, whether annoyed, sad, happy, or motivated. We want them to be able to sing along and headbang at the same time,” says Karina Khristova (Clean Vocals).

Recommended for fans of Spiritbox, Evanescence, Bring Me the Horizon, Bad Omens, and Linkin Park.

Calgary’s cinematic metalcore force Victoria Lies unleash their second single and music video “Weaving Webs,” following the explosive impact of “Red” and further expanding the dark, narrative‑driven universe leading into their debut full‑length “Vendetta,” due out on October 30th, 2026 via Black Cat Records.

While the album “Vendetta” is built around the mysterious and evolving story of Victoria, “Weaving Webs” steps outside the central narrative to confront real‑world deception and the collapse of long‑standing falsehoods.

“Even though not directly part of the Victoria universe, this one lyrically talks about how we all can see and communicate across the world. We can all see the terrible things that are happening. The same lies that have been told for decades no longer hold any ground, and we can now see who the real villains are. We will not forget,” adds vocalist Brett Hetherington.

Musically, guitarist Rory Fitzsimmons notes that the track began as a stylistic experiment inspired by Attack Attack!, pushing the band’s genre‑bending approach even further:

“I like to utilize ideas from all different styles of music. The intro to the track was a really fun side quest to see if a crazy idea I had would work.”

The band’s first single “Red” introduced listeners to the pivotal moment in the Vendetta storyline, the instant Victoria becomes Victoria. A chaotic, urgent, and emotionally volatile track, “Red” set the tone for the album’s blend of narrative depth and heavy, groove‑driven metalcore.

With “Weaving Webs,” Victoria Lies reveal yet another facet of their sound, one that’s melodic, head‑banging, heavy, genre‑bending, and groovy in equal measure.

Releasing October 30th, 2026, “Vendetta” is a concept‑driven metalcore album built on theatrical storytelling, emotional depth, and genre experimentation. Across its ten tracks, the band explores themes of power, violence, deception, trauma, and transformation, all while pushing their sound into new territory with elements of pop, trap beats, saxophone, and more.

The album was produced by Scott Bennett, with the band’s signature blend of heavy grooves, dynamic melodies, and narrative‑driven lyrics brought to life through meticulous writing and collaborative effort.

Victoria Lies is a Canadian metalcore band known for blending heavy grooves, technical flair, and theatrical storytelling. Formed in 2023, the lineup features vocalist Brett Hetherington, drummer James Cuncanon, guitarists Chris Koehler and Rory Fitzsimmons, and bassist Jay Powell. Their live shows incorporate choreography and the character of Victoria, portrayed by dancer Sadie Rieb, creating an immersive narrative experience.

The band has performed across Alberta, Calgary, Drumheller, Lethbridge, and Edmonton, including at Gatorfest II and Decimate Metalfest.

Recommended for fans of Bad Omens, Atreyu, AFI, Killswitch Engage, and Dayseeker, “Vendetta” will be available on October 30th, 2026, from Black Cat Records on all digital platforms.
