Bonfire creates dark, honest music painted through sorrowful lyrics and a haunting guitar tone. The four piece hails from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and features members of Hhogwash and other local bands from the hardcore scene.
Lyrically Greg Demers (guitar/vocals) draws from family issues, relationships, and in general low points in life to compose an image for listeners. Thomas Gelley (Bass) and James Wojak (guitar) generate the resonating instrumentals while Kurt Wolfe (drums) drives the songs forward.
Despite the emotional lyrics and dreary instrumentals their passion and energy on stage is explosive, yet sombre. Bonfire started in 2012 and since then has released Adderall (demo) and a split with Newborn last year.
The band is releasing ‘Mom’s Garden’ Fri., Oct. 2, along with a fall tour across Eastern Canada.

Canada’s favorite sweaty, sexy punk rock nomads KILL MATILDA are proud to their Western Canadian ‘Punk Survival Tour’ w/ The Nailheads this October to follow their Ontario and Quebec ‘Tabarnak And Back’ tour this September.
The tour is in support of their latest EP ‘Songs For Survival’ released on Little Heart Records on August 28th. Featuring six songs to help you survive the apocalypse, the EP is produced by legendary producer GGGarth Richardson(Kittie, Rage Against the Machine, Mudvayne, The Melvins), engineered by Nygel Asselin and GGGarth at the Farm Studio in Vancouver BC, and mixed by Ben Kaplan and Scott Ternan. The EP is available on CD and cassette here plus iTunes.

Zombie hunters by day and sweaty dance punkers by night, Kill Matilda is a sexy band of nomads that have played over 181 shows coast to coast across Canada since 2008. This fall, the Vancouver three-piece finally takes its energetic act to the USA for an awesome six-month tour of zombie-slaying madness. Frontperson Dusty Exner has been called “Joan Jett on steroids” vocally and the band has been compared to everything from “riotgrrl” to “a mix of Die Mannequin, Concrete Blonde, Switchblade Symphony and Danko Jones.”
Kill Matilda has been featured at festivals such as NXNE, Hamilton Spring Music Festival, Soreal Fest, Grindyourmind Drummondville Metal Fest, and many more. Biography
Edmonton’s own Tylor Dory Trio are creating pummeling rock-infused progressive metal with their soaring yet haunting vocals and subtle harmonies draped over technically driven guitar riffs.
Formerly known as Illusive Man, the Tylor Dory Trio features Jonathan Webster on drums and backing vocals, Slava Fedossenko on bass and backing vocals, and of course — Tylor Dory (Death Toll Rising, Villanizer) on guitar and vocals. The band carries their influences like a badge of honour due to the fact that they are all incredibly diverse – Rush, Alice In Chains, Tool, and Devin Townsend. The intention of the group is to create non-genre specific music drawing from all realms of influence; metal, progressive, grunge, and anything else that inspires them.
Their debut EP “Carried Away” is set to be released September 25, 2015. The band is currently recording a follow-up to be mixed and mastered by Christer-André Cederberg beginning later in 2015.

VESPERIA was crowned 2015 Canadian champion after performing in the national final alongside MEDEVIL (Vancouver), BLEED (Edmonton), ENDLESS CHAOS (Winnipeg), MIDNIGHT MALICE (Toronto), NORDHEIM (Quebec City) who represented the top six metal talents out of 120 competing bands from ten participating cities across Canada. The final took place on June 6th at Opera House in Toronto, ON and was judged by Annihilator’s Jeff Waters and Mike Harshaw, Noel Peters (Inertia Entertainment), Lindsay Schoolcraft (Cradle of Filth), Tim Henderson (BraveWords) and David Bottrill (Producer, Mixer).
VESPERIA‘s new EP ‘The Iron Tempests’ was released on July 10th and was co-produced with the effort of Ryan Bovaird, frontman of Canadian melodeath band Hallow’s Die. The EP artwork was also created by none other than VESPERIA‘s frontman Morgan Rider at his own White North Studios (http://whitenorthstudios.com).
“Finally we can offer everyone a glimpse of what we have been so silent about over the last year and a half. If anyone has seen us live on our recent tour dates, they will have heard a couple of these new songs in our set. The final took place on June 6th at Opera House in Toronto, ON and was judged by Annihilator’s Jeff Waters and Mike Harshaw, Noel Peters (Inertia Entertainment), Lindsay Schoolcraft (Cradle of Filth), Tim Henderson (BraveWords) and David Bottrill (Producer, Mixer).
VESPERIA‘s new EP ‘The Iron Tempests’ was released on July 10th and was co-produced with the effort of Ryan Bovaird, frontman of Canadian melodeath band Hallow’s Die. The EP artwork was also created by none other than VESPERIA‘s frontman Morgan Rider at his own White North Studios (http://whitenorthstudios.com).

Train Bigger Monkeys is an expression of society force fed life-long corruption. Metal has a way of taking control, and TBM revels in the direction it takes them.
Formed in the winter of 2007, Train Bigger Monkeys have set out to destroy. With a sound that is both melodic and punishing, TBM has succeeded in creating music that melts faces and blasts minds. With a wide array of influences across numerous metal genres you get a taste of death, thrash, progressive, hardcore and straight up metal all rolled into one. Train Bigger Monkeys always bring an energy, technicality and a true passion to the stage that will challenge anyone not to get involved.
They have had the honour to share the stage with metal legends such as Massacre, Archspire, Incantation, and Benighted, and have performed at multiple Death/Chuck Shuldiner tribute shows as well as Vernstock, Farmageddon Open Air, and Calgary Metal Fest.
With 2 full length albums under their belts (The Human Disgrace – 2012 & Divergence – 2014), and a line up that makes it look easy, the band is undoubtedly on their way to success with a sound that is constantly evolving and refining into something truly unique that can only be Train Bigger Monkeys.

Wacken Metal Battle Canada is proud to announce that this year’s international champions are Canada’s best! VESPERIA have been crowned the 2015 international champions of 11th annual Wacken Metal Battle during the world’s largest metal festival Wacken Open Air (July 30 – Aug 1) in Wacken Germany, which has an attendance of over 80,000 people. VESPERIA beat out 30 other competing countries (full list here) to win over international judges and fans. Plus it also marks out of the last 3 years Canada has participated in the competition, they have taken 1st place with Crimson Shadows winning in 2013.
“We are extremely excited to accept the title of the 2015 international Wacken battle champions. There have been many ups and downs on this trip so far, but we have encountered so many amazing people, bands, press and organizers. VESPERIA was crowned 2015 Canadian champion after performing in the national final alongside MEDEVIL (Vancouver), BLEED (Edmonton), ENDLESS CHAOS (Winnipeg), MIDNIGHT MALICE (Toronto), NORDHEIM (Quebec City) who represented the top six metal talents out of 120 competing bands from ten participating cities across Canada. Wacken Metal Battle Canada is part of an international competition where band’s from across the country in Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City will battle each other for one to be selected and join over 30 other countries for an international battle of the bands at the world’s largest outdoor metal festival Wacken Open Air, which has been taking place in Wacken , Germany for the last 25 years. Toronto’s Crimson Shadows (2013 winners – video at Wacken) and Montreal’s Mutank (2014 winners – video at Wacken) have had that honour playing in front of thousands. This year’s festival will be taking place from July 30th to August 1st.
How it works:
Each city will hold their qualifying rounds plus city finals from the months of January to May 2015 selecting the top band to move forward to the national finals in Toronto, ON in June (date to be determined) with one being selected to perform at the 26th edition of Wacken Open Air taking place from July 30th to August 1st. All bands will be judged during battle rounds by respected local music industry.
The finalists will be selected as follows.
1 finalist from BC (Vancouver & Victoria will face off)
1 finalist from Alberta (Calgary & Edmonton will face off)
2 finalists from Ontario (Toronto vs. Ottawa will face off)
1 finalist from Quebec (Montreal & Quebec City will face off)
1 finalist from Saskatoon or Winnipeg (Saskatoon and Winnipeg will face off)
