For fans of Every Time I Die, Cancer Bats, Brand New, The Chariot, Chevelle

Romania’s The Boy Who Cried Wolf  Breathe Secret Wars Through New Music Video “Bellicose”

Video Premiere via IDIOTEQ

New Album “Bellicose” Out Now!

“Bellicose” is the sonic representation of furious anger aimed at the clashing worlds that keep colliding onto us, turning us into feral beasts, nurturing the darkest of wishes, bidding serenity a sickening farewell. It is the title track of the 2020 album from Romania’s The Boy Who Cried Wolf and they are now presenting it in video form.

According to the band, “Bellicose” was recorded back in 2018, but it was such an anthemic song for them, that they included it twice on the album, in both electric and acoustic versions where it boosts the overall theme, “the rage that can rise up inside each and every one of us”. They further explain the meaning behind the song:

“It’s a renewed struggle to face off the world of the living by singing about our dead hopes and tribulations. The only salvation anyone really has, when they’re a kid trapped in an adult body, trying to be a citizen of the world or even a society, is the inspiration to create such worlds where you can be the victor or at least be honest with yourself, by screaming your fears, anger, and frustration out loud.”

The Boy Who Cried Wolf makes angry music they claim is medicinal for them, and they hope it will be like a pill to swallow for fans when they feel like they have lost their grip on serenity. The band is heavy-hitting hardcore recommended for people who enjoy processing their problems through music and fans of Every Time I Die, Cancer Bats, and Brand New.

Watch the video for “Bellicose” via its premiere on IDIOTEQ HERE.

About:
The Boy Who Cried Wolf started when two local bands (CHESTER and Breathelast) from Bucharest collided. Bogdan Purghel “Bacovia” (guitar/bass/vocals) and Mihai Ionut Andrei (vocals) reached out to drummer Alexandru Guta (PZFI, Backstage Hero) to give it a sincere go at writing wild and fast-paced music that would satiate their primal desires. They are heavily inspired by old-school metal combined with hardcore and punk vibes although other sounds may occur.

Noise Rock Duo COPE Premiere New Track ‘Mother Russia’ via PureGrainAudio

Tour Dates: Alberta & Saskatchewan – April / May

Inspired by Local H, Shellac, Brand New, Refused, and Death From Above 1979, COPE consists of Mickey Hayward on drums and Tyson Wiebe on guitars and vocals. It’s all about the power of two and COPE is truly powerful. Some of the best creative work has been the result of collaboration between two people, with artistic minds refining and exchanging ideas, with the fluidity and flexibility of the pair creating something truly special.  Hayward describes COPE as “loud, thoughtful, noisy, calm and unpredictable.”

COPE came into being in an organic fashion.

“Tyson and I have been friends and collaborators over the past 8 years. A two-piece was always something in reach because of our history of playing together, but finally came to be during an extended downtime of our other projects.” says Hayward.

The first fruits of COPE’s creativity will appear on vinyl, cassette and digital download on April 21, 2017 via their indie label Norwegian Blue Records as an introduction to give listeners a sonic interpretation of what the band is. The EP was engineered live off the floor at Norwegian Blue Studio in Lethbridge, AB under the watchful eye of Chris Lipinski (Atomicos, Lustre Creame) and Q (Supervoid, Stellar Radio Choir). The EP was mixed by Jesse Northey (The Betrayers, Diamond Mind) and mastered by KRAMER (Gwar, Galaxie 500).Teaming up with PureGrainAudio.com, COPE is premiering their first single ‘Mother Russia’ at the following link: http://puregrainaudio.com/audio/cope-pay-tribute-to-mother-russia-with-new-single-exclusive-premiere

The duo comments on the track:
“This one is a post-punk inspired track about lovers on either side of the iron curtain. Heavy guitars led by drums that start fast and end fast.”

There is much more music to come from COPE. The three tracks on the EP are from the duo’s first writing sessions and they are a strong representation of what the band sounds like. They have more material that they play live and are constantly writing as they plan for a full-length to be released later this year.

Live COPE adds another dimension to their music. They often play a show like a jam session, even though their songs are all arranged and complete, COPE aren’t afraid to let them go and turn them into something weird and new when they play them live as they will on their upcoming tour of Alberta and Saskatchewan this coming April and May (dates listed below).

“Noisy, swelling guitar and heavy, yet articulated drums; played without a plan by Tyson Wiebe and Mickey Hayward. Longtime collaborators, friends, and members of Mormon Girls are taking their focus back to their main instruments to at the very least, Cope.
