Lutharö Shares Teaser Video For New EP “Wings of Agony” Coming March 27th

Launch EP Pre-Order

Hamilton, Ontario’s Lutharö are sharing with fans a teaser clip for their forthcoming music video in support of their sophomore EP “Wings of Agony” due out March 27th along with launching its pre-order via Bandcamp.

The teaser can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/o5DMBwVgeKQ

“Wings of Agony” promises to be more innovative and imaginative than Lutharö‘s 2018 debut “Unleash The Beast”. The band stepped out of their comfort zone for this recording and they anticipate a solid reception from current and new fans. The EP was produced by the band with mixing done by Tyler Williams (Monolithic Productions) and mastering by Lasse Lammert.

Lutharö adds:

“We are hoping to have a really good response from our fans. We feel this EP is darker but still melodic and embodies the same amount of energy that we convey live.”

The EP artwork done by Costin Chioreanu and track listing can be found below.

“What Lutharö offer is a melodic strain of thrash metal with melo-death overtones and light progressive tinges. Think of Unleash The Archers buying shots of Jagermeister for Iron Maiden and Arch Enemy.” – Metal Observer

“One thing is for sure and that’s Lutharo are larger than life on stage.” – Decibel Geek

“…you will experience non-stop excellent, energetic, forward looking mix of speed, thrash and melodic death metal…Lutharo deserves to be noticed…” – Metal Reviews

“an extremely fun, crisp and pleasant fusion of 80’s Heavy Metal with modern-day Melodic Death Metal the likes of The Agonist and Arch Enemy. Spearheaded by the talented she-wolf Krista Shipperbottom, whose vocal style, hair and looks remind me of The Agonist’s stunning frontwoman Vicky Psarakis, the band delivered a solid performance for the fans.” – The Headbanging Moose (Live Review – Toronto – 2018)

Canada’s SCIMITAR have been relatively quiet the past couple years as they toil away on their latest album. ‘Shadows of Man’ is now ready to be revealed to the world with its exclusive stream on Metal-Rules.com at the following link here.

The harmonious blend of melodic death, black and folk metal is relentlessly bombastic and SCIMITAR are very excited to share this new chapter of their musical history with fans. Thematically it is quite a departure from the previous maritime-influenced debut album, ‘Black Waters’, and SCIMITAR believes their fans will enjoy the variation in atmosphere. They share what they want to accomplish:

“The main experience we are trying to convey is a feeling of grandiose originality. The single Knights Collapse, in particular, is quite an original blend of genres; all of which are not necessarily metal. Lyrically, ‘Shadows of Man’ is a statement of coherence superimposed over the divergent narratives of human experience and history. By exploring these narratives from vastly different areas, epochs and perspectives, we seek to demonstrate the futility of humanity’s divisions and the inevitability of history to repeat itself across our conceived boundaries.”

‘Shadows of Man’ is officially out as of August 23rd, 2019, but can be heard in full at the following link below:

https://youtu.be/qG53V8EKH1E

Show Dates:
Aug 22 – Centennial Square – Vancouver Island Metal Festival – Victoria, BC – info

BIO:

Scimitar is a metal band hailing from the island capital of Victoria, BC, Canada. Combining influences from melodic-death, folk, and black metal; Scimitar features uncompromisingly heavy drums, high-rollicking fingerstyle bass, dual-guitar-driven harmonies, and gruff yet sharply enunciated harsh vocals that deliver lyrics based in historical fiction and fantasy.

Since 2008 they have firmly cemented their boots in the western Canadian music scene opening for the likes of Ensiferum, Septic Flesh, and Arkona; playing at festivals including Absolute Underground’s Rising Scum Fest, Vancouver Island Metal Festival and Armstrong Metal Fest and releasing two full-length albums, ‘Black Waters’ in 2010 and ‘Shadows of Man’ in 2019.

This musical package is manifested live through blistering energy and sword-edged focus on the audience. Most of Scimitar’s chronicle remains blank, as they have much more to offer the world of metal.

“What I would (and have for the last year or so), consider the top metal prospect of Canada, Scimitar, keep doing what you’re doing because greatness is on its way.”- Metal Master Kingdom

“Deliciously captivating as it is heavy, Scimitar throw their hats into the battle for the best Viking/Pagan Metal act – and they are on their way to winning it all in a bloody conflict that will kill most of the false metal that tries and horribly fails to deliver.” – MetalBite

LA’s OUR DYING WORLD Delves Into Personal Struggles With Debut EP “Expedition” Out March 18th

OUR DYING WORLD, from Los Angeles, USA have compiled 5 heavy hitting tracks on their debut EP “Expedition” set to be released March 18, 2019. These tracks all have a personal meaning to Tom Tierney (drums) who envisioned the EP and went on to write it, later recruiting the rest of the lineup to finish the project.

Two singles have been released already from “Expedition” and the diversity between the two tracks shows that not only does the band have remarkable flexibility and musicianship, but they are able to captivate a wide audience using a variety of well-crafted elements. “Post Mortem” is a fast thrash attack conveying anger and determination whereas “Liberation” is a melodic doomy song that explores pain and suffering but also self-perseverance.

“Liberation” is available on YouTube

“Post Mortem” is available on YouTube

“Expedition” is a walkthrough Tierney’s year of struggles and letdowns in 2018.

“Emotionally, it was a tough year where a lot of life was rearranged and new foundations had to be created. Each song covers a topic or event that transpired, leading to the creation of the record as a whole.”

Tierney and Our Dying World invite the masses, especially fans of Testament, As I Lay Dying, Slayer and Amon Amarth to this personal “Expedition” on March 18, 2019, available at for pre-order on Bandcamp.

Bio:

Our Dying World was conceived in 2018 by renowned metal musician Tom Tierney. After a series of major life challenges, the story of Tierney’s evolution has become the first chapter of Our Dying World.

The first EP entitled “Exhibition” is the story of loss, drawn through time, to find inner peace and an acceptance of life’s immense struggles. The concept of ODW’s first record can be summed up simply: ‘Find the strength inside you to carry on’ -Even when it feels like there’s nothing left to give.

“Our Dying World is evolving fast. There’s a lot of work for us to do, but if it was easy that would defeat the purpose of the record and concept itself. Our record, our message, and our journey are for you. We do this in the hope that our fans embrace our music as much as we embrace anyone of you that are struggling to pierce through the challenges and speed bumps of this mortal coil. So stay tuned. Exclusives, singles, and behind the scenes videos are on their way. We invite you to find us on social media and walk this path with us. Together we will prevail.”

Hammerdrone, hailing from Calgary, Canada has been an anchor in the Canadian underground metal community for just shy of a decade and flaunts their face-melting brand of old school melodic death metal in their aggressive and mellifluous new music video “An Ever Increasing Wave” premiering on Bravewords.

The veterans in Hammerdrone continue to enjoy musical success heightened by their appearance at the National Wacken Metal Battle Finals in 2018. Fast paced with magnificent guitar solos against the turbulent rhythms, the video is a chance to see the band in action in a live show style plus a teaser to their forthcoming EP entitled “A Trinity of Rage” due out later in 2019. The EP will follow the band’s 2018 live EP “Rituals of Battle” along with LPs “Dark Harvest” (2017) and “Clone of Europa” (2014).

“We’ve been playing ‘An Ever Increasing Wave’ live for some time and it always goes down well with the crowd. It’s true to the sound we’ve been developing over the last 8 years in that it combines tremendously focused aggression with atmosphere and melody.”

Drawing inspiration from classic bands such as At The Gates, Kataklysm, Amon Amarth and more recently Mgla and UADA, the single will be enjoyed by a wide variety of death metal fans.

BIO:

Hammerdrone hail from Calgary, Canada. For 9 years we have been honing our trademark sound that mixes intense aggression, dark atmosphere, and elegant melodies to deliver a style of death metal that is both epic and catchy.  No clean singing, no symphonics. Our style has drawn comparisons to Amon Amarth, early Soilwork, Behemoth, and Bolt Thrower, among others.

“No idea why a label hasn’t snatched these guys up yet.” – Bravewords

“There’s no substitute for good songwriting, and Hammerdrone have that concept well in mind. If you are looking for a new death metal band to seek out, Hammerdrone is a great starting point.” – Dead Rhetoric

“Hammerdrone are the complete package; professional, talented and heavy as hell.” – Metal Rules

“dynamic and darkly atmospheric compositions. The vocals and overall sound reminded me at times of earlier Amon Amarth, but with far greater musical and lyrical sophistication … Their delivery was tight, and frightening in its intensity.” – Metal Master Kingdom (Live Review – Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2018 Calgary Final)

“This was the third time I had seen them play live over the past three months, and no lie, these adepts of melodic death metal never fail to awe.” – MetalMaster Kingdom (Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2018 Western Final)

“Lead vocalist, Graham Harris, had impeccable skill, projection, and charisma – as did bassist Teran Wyer and guitarist Curtis Beardy.  Their stage dynamics exuded chemistry, adrenaline and drive despite the stress that came with competing.  Lead guitarist, Rick Cardellini stood out with his intricate solos and expressive musicianship.” – Metal Master Kingdom (Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2018 National Final)

“Frontman Graham Harris was on fire during the entire concert, growling and roaring (and also making faces) like a beast, while his bandmates Rick Cardellini (lead guitars), Curtis Beardy (rhythm guitars), Teran Wyer (bass) and Vince Cardellini (drums) delivered a well-balanced fusion of the more harmonious lines from Melodic Death Metal with the sheer heaviness and aggressiveness of old school Death Metal.” – The Headbanging Moose (Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2018 National Final)

NEWS RELEASE

Ottawa, ON – December 4, 2018

OMINOUS ECLIPSE Are ‘Breaking The Chains’ With New Lyric Video

New Album “Sinister” Out Now!

Drawing their inspiration from a wide variety of genres, OMINOUS ECLIPSE is a brutal quartet that create a unique hybrid sound with death metal being the main aspect combined with elements of thrash, groove, black, melodic, etc. Unleashing their sophomore album “Sinister” this past September, the band have put together a new lyric video for their track “Breaking The Chains” premiered on Bravewords.com.

Watch it now at the following link: http://bravewords.com/news/exclusive-ominous-eclipse-premieres-breaking-the-chains-lyric-video

For those in the Ottawa area, OMINOUS ECLIPSE will be performing on December 11th opening for The Faceless, Rings of Saturn, Vales of Pnath and more at Mavericks. Full details here.

“Sinister” is now streaming at the following link: https://youtu.be/PWKEeTguj-w

Plus available on Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and Spotify.

Music Video – “Sinister” – https://youtu.be/ZkCr2u_wHfs

The band comments:

“There’s no concept or theme on this album so all the songs have different meaning. The title track itself divulges into the inevitable end to humanity and potentially the world with it. It discusses the issues around the globe and also addresses the ignorance and selfishness of those indirectly affected by the chaos. It has a strong “United We Stand, Divided We Fall” theme in regards to how people can turn their backs on those in need in order to save their own skin, which ironically will lead to our end as it causes people to turn on each other. Musically for this album, you will notice we have evolved from the first release and have moved away from thrashy overtones to become more diverse including more heavily stated melodic and technical with a solid groove and death foundation.”

“Sinister” follows their 2015 debut full length “End Of Days” and EP “Beyond The Apocalypse” released that same year. Active since 2014, OMINOUS ECLIPSE is a very ambitious band passionate about writing and playing extreme music. They have already shared the stage with the likes of Revocation, The Agonist, Kalmah, Archspire, Incantation, Vesperia, Beyond Creation, Rivers of Nihil to name a few.

Show Dates:
Dec 8 – Peterborough, ON – Southside Pizzeria – info
Dec 11 – Ottawa, ON – Mavericks – info

1. Death By Dissection (6:13)

“Their new song “Spiral Into Insanity” has a strong death metal foundation, including very melodic leads, but there’s more than enough groovy thrash inspiration and even a hint of black metal there. ” – Decibel Magazine

“a game changing release for Ominous Eclipse that places them center stage for my pick of the best Canadian Metal release this year….Every track stands strongly on its own, thanks to the band’s immense talent and flawless production. Ominous Eclipse is a band that carries the banner for the N.W.O.C.D.M. with pride and distinction. Out September 14th on all streaming platforms, I would recommend Sinister to fans of Death, Iron Maiden, Infernal Majesty and Gojira.” – Hellbound

“Demonstrating their ability to blend genres within metal to create a compelling album, this is an impressive sophomore delivery. Each track brings something different and feels refreshing even after multiple listens.” – Splice Magazine

“‘Sinister’ is a high-energy track launched by heartless riff jabs, ear-scouring string squeals, and neck-snapping drumwork. The vocals come for your throat, too, in an effusion of heartless roars and face-scraping shrieks, and the song is accented by flurries of spidery, darting fretwork and by a pair of flashy, fluid, but demented solos. It becomes a thrashing gallop, but without becoming any less venomous in its delivery.” – No Clean Singing

“The crowd was stellar at Mavericks, where each of the four bands were well represented by their fan bases. Opening on the night were Ominous Eclipse, whose chunky, frantic thrash metal din was led by their howling frontman. Largely drawing from their 2015 album End of Days, the four-piece pounded through six songs, tackling tracks like “Pestilence,” Abandoned” and the album’s particularly solid title track. Helping to limber the crowd for the chaos to come, they called for a “wall of death” in the confines of the club and the fans delivered, clearing the centre of the floor before the opposing sides barrelled into one another, bodies flying everywhere.” – Exclaim! (Live Review opening for Kalmah April 2016)

BIO:

Hailing from Alma Québec, Trollwar combine the best elements of folk, melodic death and black metal into something vital, potent and uniquely their own. Building on the foundations created by the likes of Finntroll and Amon Amarth they forge fiery folky metal that is unique and complex.

Since starting their quest in 2011, they have leveled past their folk roots and have taken a darker, more powerful path becoming more versatile and utilizing more inspiration from bands such as Wintersun and Luca Turilli. The symphonic and power metal elements continue to shine amongst the harshness of the folk and black metal with themes pulled from the works of Tolkien and Lovecraft.

Playing with a myriad of heavy hitters such as Kalmah, Alestorm and Arkona and with an inventory of well-received releases: ‘Bloodshed Forges’ EP (2011); ‘Earthdawn Groves’ LP (2013); and ‘The Traveler’s Path’ EP (2017); Trollwar are working mightily to forge a new LP ‘Oath of the Storm’ for 2018, that will feature their trademark ‘symphony, brutality, darkness, ambiance, and power!’.

The album follows their 2015 debut full length “End Of Days” and EP “Beyond The Apocalypse” released that same year.

Track Listing:
1. Death By Dissection (6:13)
2. Sinister (5:00)
3. Spiral Into Insanity (4:16)
4. Lost At Sea (8:02)
5. No Redemption For The Damned (6:43)
6. Breaking The Chains (5:50)
7. The Horde (7:25)

“As the evolution of Ominous Eclipse has progressed, the band have hybridized a seething core of death metal sound with elements of thrash, black metal, and melodic death metal. But if “The Horde” is a sign of what’s to come next, they’re reaching for new levels of monstrous and electrifying destructiveness.” – No Clean Singing

“Whilst we wait with anticipation to hear the rest of the record ”Sinister” is yet another outstanding track on what looks set to be a very exciting record from ‘Ominous Eclipse’.” – Spirit Level Magazine
