“Very quickly I became a fan of the band through the work of their vocalist Dalyn. His voice is quite unique, being both strangely death metal low and deathcore high at the same time. The riff work of Ryan “Carbomb” Sorensen, and bassist Kevin Student brought a nice brand of brutality with the occasional bit of melody, while Joel Zimmerman (no, not THAT Joel Zimmerman) blasted beautifully on the drums. This is one band that I know Crown of Viserys will be following from here on out. They outright kick ass, and I am honestly a bit surprised they didn’t win.” – Crown of Viserys regarding the Edmonton Wacken Metal Battle Canada (2015)

Biography
Windy City Slaughter draw up dark imagery through their deafening lows, breakdowns, and occasional pig squeals but the lyrical content defies the genre norm by challenging one to face their greatest fears and overcome them.
Their name is meant to draw up a fear of a rogue serial killer, or a furious storm that is unforgiving. This humble four piece hailing from Grande Prairie, Alberta began in 2012 and has been steadily outgrowing their deathcore genre label by delving into more traditional metal compositions. The band is comprised of Kevin S. on bass, The Zim on drums, and Carbomb as their leading guitarist. Windy City Slaughter is committed to developing their live performance as an engaging and loud act that will lure fans from any metal genre. The band plans to tour eastern Canada June 2015 and has currently released a demo and a full length called ‘Alpha’. Make sure to catch this hurricane of brutal metal as they trek across Canada.

Infection Born of Ending – 2015
Biography
Creaking, bleak and articulate in its fury, Idolatry perform dynamic black metal that is at once cold and calculating, and then a schizophrenic catharsis. Comprised of members from Edmonton’s finest pedigree of extreme metal with singular vision to be old Norway’s soldier in Canada’s frozen tundra of misery. Live, Idolatry is corpse painted, spiked, and manic, raiding crowds of their attention to all else….terrifying. At the pen, Idolatry is wise and ancient. Heavily steeped in philosophy and the defense of Atheistic Satanism and the expulsion of abhorrent inner turmoil.
Fear what is coming….. Lest the mirrors paint your face in our madness.
“Idolatry creates basic black metal with a flowing melodic inner structure despite its raw exterior. The strikingly morose atmosphere of the music is what appealed to me the most.” – Deathmetal.org
“The music gets under your skin and writhes like worms in your head. Its dismal melodies tend to stay in your head, too. The finishing instrumental segment over the video’s closing credits is eerie, dramatic, and powerful — and it offers no hope either” – NoCleanSinging.com
Dreadful, horrifying, and ear shattering black metal emanates like some kind of noxious fog from my speakers, enveloping my very being with its disgusting, cathartic wails. This must be Idolatry, and their debut release.

These guys don’t just write riffs, they craft songs and that’s the best compliment I can give any band. I look forward to hearing a full length from these guys as if they can keep up this kind of quality over the course of a full album then they will definitely be a forced to be reckoned with on the metal scene.- That Metal Station
“In their punishing debut, Calgary metal trio False Flag skirt between multiple sub-genres while never fully committing to one. As such, they’ve created something original and crushing that is never cliché.” – Sarah Kitteringham, BeatRoute
“…With their punkified Meshuggah-esque guitar judding, and powerful howling vocals, they got the crowd moving.” – Beatroute
“What metal is lacking is more bands like False Flag who realize how vast the genre is, how much imagery, lyrical themes and sounds are available, and who take only what is right for them to make their music, without being embarrassed or strident about the boundaries.” – Gareth Watkins, BeatRoute,

False Flag – Nest of Vipers EP – Nest of Vipers Tour
Calgary’s down-tuned super group False Flag are a heavy hitting 4 piece that produce loud groovy metal.
Formed in 2012 as a side project for Russ Gauthier (Lordosis, Meggido, and We Found The Body) and Nick Purdy (Meggido). They soon recruited Garrett McElroy (AfterEarth) as a bass player and recorded their first EP (Orobas) at Garrett’s apartment studio.
Prior to performing at Calgary Metalfest, and Vernstock the band recruited Dan Ishak (Meggido, Stinger) on bass as Garrett’s band Afterearth was picking up steam. In January 2014 False Flag started recording the full length album “Suffer In Silence”. Finally guitarist Mike Harach (Meggido, Stinger) was added and solidified the bands thick live sound. John Byskal (We Found The Body) joined the band (replacing Nick Purdy) in February 2015 and their lineup was settled.
False Flag is currently in the studio recording their 3rd release, “Nest Of Vipers” EP. The EP will be released August 4th, 2015 and will start with an Alberta/Saskatchewan tour July 2015.
