Montreal, QC’s The Rising Few are proud to share with fans their latest music video ‘Tomorrow’s Lullaby’ starring Canadian actress Kimberly Lafferiere. The video explores the aspects of global revolutions including vocalist Karim Terouz’s home country of Egypt, the main inspiration of the video as well as the stirring of a personal inner-revolution.

“This was the first song I wrote for our album ”Sinners On St-Laurent”, it’s inspired by the revolution of the Egyptian people that stirred in me and my own inner-revolution to make music. I used the acoustic intimate version for the video to keep the feeling as close as it was when the song first came to me… although the full band version is another ballgame. This is for Egypt and its youth, thank you.” comments vocalist Karim Terouz.

In additional news, The Rising Few will be performing on July 8th at the Belmont with Fatima Radics in support of their latest debut album ‘Sinners On St. Laurent’(iTunes). The album is a tribute to the city that has given so much to vocalist Karim Terouz, a professional illustrator whom emigrated from Cairo, Egypt to embrace the blistering Canadian winters and the lively music scene that Montreal is internationally known for.

The band is now streaming their summer track ‘Soleil’ at the following link: https://soundcloud.com/the-rising-few/soleil, it is highlighted by the trumpet hook by their own Isaac Gesse on horns.

About: Performing over 30 live shows since first beginning on the scene and a first place win at the Landmark Events showcase competition (http://www.landmarkevents.net) in which the band beat out 200+ others for top honours. The Rising Few is excited to indulge music fans in some “punchy Montreal soul” with this debut produced by the great Glen Robinson known for his mixing and mastering credits on projects with Dave Grohl’s Probot, The Ramones, David Bowie, AC/DC, Keith Richards, The Tea Party, Grim Skunk, Ringo Starr, The Beach Boys and many more over the course of his career.

Accompanying Terouz in his true passion of music are Hubert Tremblay (Guitars) and Andrew Sudlow (Bass) whom he met when he first started visiting every open mic night imaginable in the city. He was then later joined by Isaac Gesse (Trumpet) and Harvey Bienaime (Drums) to complete The Rising Few and create a fusion of folk, blues, rock and pop that the band showcases with its influences from Cat Stevens, The Tragically Hip and Bruce Springsteen, as well as Terouz’s Egyptian heritage with the band’s R&B / soul inspirations.

Upcoming Show Dates:

July 8 – Belmont – Montreal, QC – Fatima Radics

“Rising Few’s eclectic debut captures Plateau vibe: Sinners on St. Laurent marries folk and blues with artfully constructed, narrative-driven melodic rock writing.” – Montreal Gazette

“Ce qui est certain, c’est que ‘The Rising Few’ donne un sentiment réellement Montréalais! Entre leurs paroles anglaises et françaises, les mélodies dynamiques et sereines et les paroles parlant d’amour et de solitude, on peut imaginer les petits cafés du plateau, les bars animés de St. Laurent et les rues vives et pleines d’énergie de Montréal!” – The Indie Blender

“Their debut album begins with the title track “Sinners On St. Laurent” you will be quickly taken away by the smoothing vocals of Karim Terouz. Karim’s smooth and slick sounding Jazz/pop vocals graciously flow throughout the song.  As well as the vocals the lyrics are quite cleverly written by Karim as well, the lyrics come straight from the visual exposures from which Karim has taken in while living in Montreal. The instrumental aspect of the song goes perfectly hand in hand with the vocals as well. . If you are intrigued by lyrics such as I am you will be delighted with the full composition and arrangement of the song. ” – Kingston Music Reviews

“…what’s abundantly clear is that all of these musicians are as talented as they are passionate about their art. Their recorded music is highly recommended, and is different enough from the live show to make each separate experience well worth your cash. With an encore that seamlessly includes solos from all five members, the band wraps up their set neatly and modestly bids farewell. This is an act to watch, and though they are not all necessarily natives, their sound is unarguably Montreal, and something we as a city can be proud to have produced.” – Bucket List Music Reviews (Live Review)

Montreal, QC’s The Rising Few are proud to announce the official release of their debut album ‘Sinners On St. Laurent’, out this week on Tuesday, March 25th (iTunes). The album is a tribute to the city that has given so much to vocalist Karim Terouz, a professional illustrator whom left his hometown of Cairo, Egypt to embrace the blistering Canadian winters and the lively music scene that Montreal is internationally known for.

”Finally a songbook to reflect that scene we got here in Montreal, an album that honestly and sincerely depicts the sultry colours of Monty by night…and the morning after! To be able to catalogue my time and experience coming here, to engage the youth with an emancipation in songwriting is more than the life I wanted for myself, I am finally comfortable and it all starts with this album.”  says Terouz.
