After several tours of the USA and Europe, Ottawa’s nerd-rock trio DOUBLE EXPERIENCE are returning for their first cross-Canada tour since 2014. The band will be performing songs off their third full-length, “Unsaved Progress”, including their recent single “The Glimmer Shot”; a Destiny-themed rock anthem, which earned them accolades from the creators of the video game itself.
For the first time, Canadian fans will be treated to DOUBLE EXPERIENCE‘s larger-than-life show; an event that begins before the band even takes the stage.
“On our last UK tour, we coordinated everything from Pokemon duels on Game Boys with our fans, Pokemon-themed drink specials, cosplay contests, and more,” explains vocalist Ian Nichols. “This fall, we’re embracing Pokemon GO and incorporating aspects of that into what happens offstage.”

Taking the next step from their previous album – initially released exclusively on collectible trading cards, the band utilizes classic video-game inspired artwork and packaging. The album was brought to life with the help of Al Jacob and Kit Walters (HE IS LEGEND) at Warrior Sound in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Prior to the creation of “Unsaved Progress”, Double Experience were busy performing across 15 countries, playing everywhere from video game museums to tattoo conventions as well as showcases at Canadian Music Week and Indie Week Canada. Their adventures have been supported by international radio, festivals and television alike, culminating with an entire nerd-rock exposé and performance on Global TV in Canada.
Album orders are now available at the band’s merch store here. A deluxe edition of the album – boasting two unreleased songs, two acoustic remixes, merch discount codes, studio footage and a brand new trading card – is also available for the fastidious Double Experience collector.

Ottawa’s nerdy rock trio DOUBLE EXPERIENCE will be joining this year’s line up for VooDoo Rockfest in Napanee, ON taking place from September 23rd to 25th. The 3 day Rockfest features many original and tribute bands that are both local and from the surrounding area. DOUBLE EXPERIENCE will be performing on September 24th alongside The Damn Truth, Metronome Jones, Amberwood, Listen Up Kid and more. Full details here.
In additional news, the band recently returned from their tour across the UK and will be hitting the road for dates in Ontario and Quebec this coming July in support of their newly released third studio album ‘Unsaved Progress’. And in case ya missed it… the boys recently teamed up with Exclaim! for the premiere of their video tribute doing their best Weezer impression in front of a green screen that’s blue.
