Hitting The Road! Montreal Duo DOOM ‘AN BLUE’s New Music Video Has Them Digging “Black Hole Blues” Along The Way

Tour Dates in Ottawa, Hamilton, Montreal

The heavy hooves of Montreal duo Doom ‘An Blue featuring drummer Jimmy Antle (Mürtenscythe, Guttrot, Leather Up ) and guitarist Lee Whiskey (Leather Up Your Ass, ex-Mutank) return with a soul-digging dive into the unknown with “Black Hole Blues”.

Smashing classic rock riffage and sweet stoner speed tides since first forming in 2016, over the years Doom ‘An Blue have released various videos and singles of just them as a duo along with collaborations with musicians from the Montreal music scene.

Each of their releases is a step above the last and they take the opportunity to learn, to experience from each predecessor, and use this to allow them to be better artists. Delivering beyond their best is key, to pushing their limits of creation during the current time and ahead to the next.

As they unleash a single at a time, they keep you on their toes for the next drop. Thus leaving you knowing that the next step is always just around that shadowy corner in the maze of sound that is Doom ‘An Blue.

Hitting the road this September for show dates in Ottawa, and Hamilton, along with a local hometown show in Montreal (dates listed below), Doom ‘An Blue wants fans to bear witness to their latest instrumental music video “Black Hole Blues” based on true events. The track is the next release as part of their single-series storyline. The duo explains in further detail:

“We are both fans of space documentaries, aliens, otherworldly ideas, and the possibilities of tasty beer-ish beverages. One night talking space at jam, Jimmy said he was into this cool title he thought up, which was ‘Black Hole Blues’ so of course it was just perfect for a groovy new instrumental we were cooking up just a few full moons beforehand! It came together fast, and quickly became a live staple and often a show closer for many years! The video itself is based on true occurrences that prove to be documented from the summer of 2018 until an unknown point of reference… These findings are known as the ‘Black Hole Blues’. We can’t for all the doom hounds to devour! Dig in, and feast the hell out of it!” adds the band.

The single was produced by Doom ‘An Blue and Alain Londero, who also mixed and mastered the track along with the music video
filmed by Cintia Ventania, Stephen Howlett, and DRONE NL.

About: Having shared stages with different projects in Montreal, Canada’s thriving music scene since 2010, and becoming fast friends upon performing together in cover band Leather Up Yöur Ass since 2013, talks between Jimmy and Lee about creating something unique finally began taking shape in May of 2016 while driving to a performance. Soon after a road trip to see Clutch in Schaghticoke, NY, without a note prepared to rehearse, the two walked into Montreal jam space Cite 2000. A few hours later, they were left with countless ideas and even more questions.

Montreal’s Doom ‘An Blue has a rocking new video single coming out, “Ran Down”. It’s the perfect track to add to your driving playlist.

“Ran Down” is a hard-hitting song that is a band favourite, and it really shows different shades of the band. Anybody who is aware of these rockers is going to freak out when they hear it and those who are discovering them for the first time are in for a hell of a ride with the single. The video brings the imagination of the song to visual life; it isn’t overdone, cheap, tasteless, or fake. Authenticity speaks volumes and “Ran Down” blasts it on the bust. As the band explains:

“She’s a ripper. A badass roll down the window, step on the gas, turn it up son of a gun! Super fun to play, super fun to record, and super fun to film. It hits hard, it grooves, it sends you in orbit way out in space and slams you back into the Earth’s dirt again, it’s a fucking crash landing in an ‘87 Cutlass Supreme!”

Doom ‘An Blue adds guests to almost every song and this one features Steph Lune (Death Proof) on vocals and Iza Coulombe (The Horny Bitches) on bass for the recording and for live performance plus the music video appearance, they were joined by bassist Masha Te (Death Proof). A strong connection in musical tastes and alcohol tastes spawned the rockers from Montreal, solidified with a connection in drive, creativity and passion for music and everything that goes with it. With two singles out already, 2019’s “Two-Bit Son Of A Bitch” and 2020’s “Wicked Serotonin” they have devised their own sound that will get you moving.

Doom ‘An Blue provides catchy sounds with no goddamn bounds suitable for lovers of southern rock, hard rock, and classic rock n’ roll.

What just happened?

What are we to do now?

What year is this?

After many a sundown accompanied by way more cold-to-room temperature adult beverages, 2 was agreed on as the lucky number. Jimmy and Lee conspired that the sounds, shapes, and possibilities of the project was to be left as limitless as the music which they would spawn, therefore inviting collaborators in the form of as many or as few guests from all ends of the musical universe as felt… juuuust right for each composition.

Expect The Unexpected With Doom ‘An Blue’s Music Video “Wicked Serotonin” via Metal-Rules

Dynamic Duo Doom ‘An Blue are back with another lively music video, this time inviting collaborators to make the track “Wicked Serotonin” with vocals and bass. The recording and production on the video have taken over a year and they are pumped to finally be dropping it!

On this track, Lee Whiskey (guitar) and Jimmy Antle (drums) are joined by long time collaborators Dan Matheson on bass and Jesse James Dimitri belting it out on the mic formulating a familiar groovy song but yet, still miles aways from previous work done with others. Always driving to push the limits of themselves, Doom An’ Blue has this to say about the upcoming song:

“This may be the 2nd or 3rd song we ever wrote. Everything came together extremely easy, like too easy! Wicked Serotonin has always been the song we needed to practice the least because it was ingrained in our thick skulls from day one. The idea behind the video was a collaboration between us, Jesse, Dan, and Cintia. We wanted it to follow the last video and be a continuation of the story/our journey and as well, tell its own story. On the day we shot it, the concept was still quite vague but came together really fast the more we got shooting. The concept is roughly Lee and I (Jimmy), meeting with 2 strangers, all coming from a shitty place, and turning it around. Other aspects of the video set up the premise for the next single/video!”

With a well received first single, ‘Two-Bit Son of a Bitch’ (2019) under their belts, Doom ‘An Blue brings forth a truly eclectic blend of all rock styles that are further expanded with the individual styles of the many musicians they collaborate with.

“Wicked Serotonin” with guest vocals by Jesse James Dimitri and bass from Dan Matheson can be viewed via its premiere on Metal-Rules.com HERE.

Doom ‘An Blue from Montréal, QC have brand new spanking video for their single “Two Bit Son of a Bitch”. Self-described as “earth-shaking sounds with no goddamn bounds!”, Doom ‘An Blue is the warm rock ‘n roll hug you need as winter encroaches.

The single is a fan favourite at live gigs so it was only natural for it to become the first video for this intrepid duo of Jimmy Antle and Lee Whiskey who say that, “This track is a great representation of the core of Doom ‘An Blue. This is the tip of the iceberg that sank the Titanic, get your life jacket ready!”

Since 2018, Antle and Whiskey have, in their words, “conspired that the sounds, shapes, and possibilities of the project were to be left as limitless as the music which we would spawn; therefore inviting as many or as few collaborators from all ends of the musical universe as we feel are just right for each composition.”

This mindset and drive mean a Doom ‘An Blue performance can include as many as 30 guests who throw their talent together to create passionate and lively rock ‘n roll.

Get your feet ready for stomping and your beers ready for drinking because Doom ‘An Blue is bringing catchy rock straight to your ears!

The video is being premiered via DoomedAndStoned.com at the following link HERE.
