0 BOLERO Announce Band Name Change To VESPERIA, Release New Demo And Tour Dates

With the new year always come changes and challenges and for Ontario, Canada’s BOLERO, 2012 has already shaped up to be all about transformation and evolution. Out with the old and in with the new.

After several months of deep thinking and more than half a decade of live shows, line-up changes and the constant shake-ups in the music industry, the four musicians behind Bolero decided it was time for a big move – a change in name and mentality. Ladies, gentlemen and metal Vikings, we present to you, VESPERIA.

“This new name means ‘of the land of the evening star’ and the word ‘Vesperia’ was one of the proposed names for Canada before our country’s name was decided upon,” explained Morgan Rider of the chosen name’s origins.

Continuing to derive influences from thrash, black metal and traditional folk music, Vesperia are not leaving their epic orchestrations, throat-crushing speed nor ear-piercing guitar riffs behind, rather, they’re intensifying each element, adding more energy to their live shows just when fans thought they couldn’t get any more amped up and prepping to release their new demo as Vesperia, entitled ‘The Swordsman’.

‘The Swordsman’ can be streamed here:

http://www.facebook.com/VesperiaMetal

In celebration of these momentous changes and of the upcoming release, VESPERIA will be offering fans a free download of a brand new recording off ‘The Swordsman’ every week for the upcoming month.

Converting listeners and critics across the globe into believers and preachers of symphonic Celtic death metal since 2007, it’s clear VESPERIA has no plans of slowing down.

In support of the bands evolution, VESPERIA will be embarking on a string of Ontario dates with warrior brothers CRIMSON SHADOWS.

‘For the Glory of the Swordsman’ Tour Dates:

BIO: It’s the question all bands get asked at some point, and the question they most hate/fear: How would you describe your sound?

However, for Ontario, Canada’s Bolero, the answer says it all: Symphonic Celtic Death Metal.

Formed in 2005 by singer/bassist Morgan Rider as a black metal side project, Bolero’s present line-up and direction became focused and solidified in 2007. Having recently unleashed their debut album, Voyage From Vinland, the epic metal warriors behind Bolero are now gaining real momentum and converting listeners and critics across the globe into believers and preachers of symphonic Celtic death metal.

Having spent a year and a half recording at Attlesey Studios (Hallows Die, Will of the Ancients, Panzerfaust), the 11-track debut is a culmination of the band’s song writing and hard work from the past several years. Making the album a reality was an exercise in perfect construction, as Rider says, “each track was built from the ground up; from the heavy bottoms to the swirling orchestral parts. Kind of like a puzzle in a 100-track sort of way.”

Drawing influence from an array of genres and styles ranging from folk to death metal, and everything in between, it’s no wonder Voyage From Vinland simultaneously features formidably epic orchestrations, ear-piercing guitar riffs, throat-crushing speed and triumphant melodies.
