0 NEWS: NORDHEIM Launch Indiegogo For “RapThor”, An Album About Bacon And Dinosaurs

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 21, 2017

For fans of Moonsorrow, Finntroll, Windir, Equilibrium, Ensiferum, Kalmah, Wintersun

Quebec Folk Metal NORDHEIM Launch Indiegogo For “RapThor”, An Album About Bacon And Dinosaurs

Influenced by bands such as Finntroll, Ensiferum, Kalmah and Wintersun, Quebec folk metal NORDHEIM have launched an indiegogo campaign for their forthcoming album entitled “RapThor” to follow their two previous releases “Refill” (2013) and debut “Lost In The North” (2011). Featuring eight tracks with titles such as “Troll Riding A Raptor”, “Boobs And Bacon” and “Dragonthorn”, this third studio recording is dedicated to the epic flavour of bacon, the colossus power of dinosaurs and more.

The band comments:

“‘We want to give the fans one of the heaviest and nastiest folk metal albums to date with ‘RapThor’. It is different from our first two. We had great feedback when we played the songs live. This album is the heaviest of them all while cutting back on the European folklore influences. It’s the result of our hard work over the last few years. It is super-heavy party music!”

NORDHEIM are offering various perks and bundles through their Indiegogo campaign to meet their goal of $3,500 for “RapThor”, which can be found at the following link: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/rapthor-metal#/

The band has also posted a video message for the campaign at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reFUtNY1K5U

2. Boobs And Bacon
3. Scroll Of Lightning Bolt
4. Black Witch Rises

NORDHEIM is:
Warraxe – Guitars, Vocals
Benfok – Bass, Vocals
Fred – Lead Guitars
Luke – Drums

About:

So many bands make listeners choke from their sheer delusional pretentions of grandeur. Not Nordheim, their philosophy is simply to make fun folk metal, as can be evidenced by titles such as ‘Boobs and Bacon’ and ‘I Wish You Were A Beer’!

Inspired by Wintersun, Windir, Finntroll, Equillbrium, and Carcass, guitarist and singer, and main songwriter Warraxe describes Nordheim’s sound as ‘fast, heavy, festive, cold, and catchy!’

Warraxe explains that Nordheim are truly a band of brothers. ‘We are a bunch of guys from Bellechasse, a small region south of the St-Laurent River in the province of Quebec. We were long-time friends and have metal as a common passion, one thing leads to another and we started a band.’

Live Nordheim really show their sense of fun. “When we play live it’s a frickin’ party! We move a lot, scream, hump the air, we drink from the fans’ beer bottles and in turn, we feed them beer, with the help of our friends and roadies coming up on stage and pouring beer in their faces. Usually between songs I’ll be making jokes about anything I can think of, as long as it’s dumb and incoherent! We have a strong sense of ‘bro-ness’ with our fans!”

0 MUEN Mag – “W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T.” by Mutank, where punk meets thrash!

  • · MUTANK

“W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T.” is one of those records that you seem a band jamming out in their garage and eventually an audience just gathers because their thrash, punk, and a bit of tongue-in-cheek causes the listener to pay attention to what Mutank has to say.

They have a lot of thrashing songs that have abbreviated titles, and they kick some serious ass with their old school music and hardcore attitude.

Divinity is quite the find. The amazing power of the interwebs once again gives me (and perhaps you) another talented band deserving to be heard. Although The Immortalist isn’t exactly all new, it’s a fantastic roll up of what this band has been up to over the last few years. The Immortalist is highly recommended.

Lead singer Joel Parent on Spüken :

“These 10 songs span a decade, so there are a lot of different feels happening from song to song that represent what we got into over the years. It’s like we spent 10 years swallowing everything life threw at us, then we threw it all back up again, and are now able to listen to the blended, half-digested version of it.”

“When most people think of ninja, they think of heartless human weapons for hire, door to door deliverers of death, medieval mailmen gone bloody postal for a price. Its true, some people who practiced ninjutsu in feudal Japan did this and profited by it, and gave birth to the modern image of the ninja in all their violent hilarity. But in the beginning the skills for which ninja have become radical and revered arose out of necessity. The ruling samurai class prized honour above all else, even life. The peasant class often reaped the deadly benefit of this disregard for life. But some of them rejected this devaluation of their lives and sought ways to survive in spite of it. They were creative, skilled and deadly in their pursuit of a way of peace. They removed the hindrance of ego and status and instead let a reverence for life shape their approach. Unbound by the protocols of oppression, they invented unprecedented survival methods that have become legend. They unified mind, body and spirit in their art, they used what they had, they broke all the rules.

Ninjaspy takes this approach and applies it to music.”
