Unveiling their monumental musical odyssey in their new EP “Creation’s Call” this past August, Denver’s fantasy power metal warriors Siege Perilous are sharing their latest lyric video for the recording’s closing track “Brothers of the Five”. The song is a massive, epic, with a triumphant sound that shows the brighter side of power metal. The lyrical story behind the track centers around a group of heroic knights who live their lives by five tenets: honor, integrity, resilience, willpower, and command.

A culmination of years of storytelling and musical craftsmanship, Siege Perilous’ EP “Creation’s Call” will immerse power metal fans in a world of adventure and intrigue. With each soaring guitar solo and thunderous drumbeat, Siege Perilous invites fans to delve deeper into the realms of their imagination, where epic battles and ancient prophecies unfold. From the thunderous opening chords of “Oathsworn” to the triumphant crescendo of “Brothers of the Five”, the EP takes listeners on a journey through realms both ancient and mythical.
Drawing inspiration from LARP, historical events, and fantasy literature, Siege Perilous crafts a cinematic landscape that resonates with fans across the spectrum of metal and fantasy fandoms. They are highly recommended for fans of Alestorm, Manowar, and Iron Maiden.

“Our goal with ‘Creation’s Call’ is to present fans with an opportunity to escape the modern world and join us in the worlds of history and fantasy. For the more technically inclined, we have tight, complex arrangements and shredding solos that show off how incredibly talented my bandmates are and how fortunate I am to work with them. I like to think of this EP as a sampler platter of lyrical themes, musical ideas, and narrative storytelling that highlights what we are about in a very diverse array of 5 tracks.”

“It gives me great pleasure to tell you that Creation’s Call is a blast. Siege Perilous has succeeded in creating what I would call Epic Power Metal for the Working Man. They don’t waste your time with overlong symphonic interludes between tracks, melodramatic narration, or overproduction that tests the limits of your sanity. The band gets right to the point and pulls you into their epic tales of heroic daring immediately. This is a nice breath of fresh air and if this EP is anything to go by, Siege Perilous has a great future ahead of them. Yes, this could be considered power metal but the no-nonsense approach and urgency to the songwriting makes this release absolutely worth checking out for those of us in the NWOTHM scene. “Denver metal mob reckon that their goal on “Creation’s Call” was to build a world and tell a story in “three to five minutes.” It’s a world of fantasy, as “Oathsworn” proves, where metal rules and swords are held high. “Across The Rubicon,” however, is delivered with such skill that you can’t resist getting sucked in with them. Shaughnessy McDaniel has a brilliant “metal” voice, roaring on “Sons Of The Verdant,” and guitar duo Scott Hancock and Cody Martinez can knock out a NWOBHM riff like it’s 1982, as the title song underlines. “Brothers Of Five” brings the epic one last time, galloping in proper fashion, and it’ll be interesting to see how Siege Perilous develops.
