Tech Groove Metal SLAGDUSTER To Perform At ARMSTRONG Metal Fest 2017
New Album Out Now! “Deadweight”

Unleashing their sophomore album “Deadweight” this past May, Grand Forks, BC tech groove metallers SLAGDUSTER announce they will be performing on day two of this year’s Armstrong Metal Fest in Armstrong, BC on July 15th. This festival’s line up includes headliners Boston tech death / thrash titans REVOCATION, Vancouver’s reggae-metal fusion NINJASPY, Canadian 80’s thrash legends AGGRESSION and Vancouver Whammy Award Best Local Metal Artist winner GOLERS among many more from across the country. (Full fest details can be found at http://armstrongmetalfest.ca)
“We feel privileged to be a fairly regular band on the AMF roster. We always look forward to performing on their big stage, and reuniting with a bunch of our closest brothers and sisters of the Western Canadian metal scene. We’re excited to play our new material for the crowd of friends and festival goers who have probably seen us perform countless times and are ready for some more variety in our live set. The promoters are great at what they do, and have become good friends of ours over the years.” says vocalist / guitarist Shane Sherman.
Inspired by such giants as Goijira. Sikth, Meshuggah, Dillinger Escape Plan, Between The Buried And Me, SLAGDUSTER’s sound can be best described as “progressive, groovy, creative, unique, heavy”. Their next offering “Deadweight” is the follow up their 2010 debut album ‘Nature.Humanity.Machine’. The album features nine tracks that give a variety a flavor with its ripping riffs and tremolo melodies to soft transitional parts and psychedelic interludes on top of constant heaviness and groove.
To check out a full stream of “Deadweight” and purchase, please visit the band’s Bandcamp at http://slagduster.com/album/deadweight
“Deadweight” is also available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and all major online retailers.

““Mother’s Milk” really is a head-spinner — a lurching, twisted, off-kilter, and thoroughly riveting display of vocal viciousness and instrumental pyrotechnics.” – No Clean Singing
“Slagduster deliver grooved rhythms, technical riffing, odd time signatures and pummeling vocals on new single “Peeping Ron”” – The Sludgelord
“an album packed with chaos and brutal disorder that is worthy of any mosh-pit.” – 925 Rebellion
“9 songs long, it doesn’t have time to get old or run out of imagination, something it has plenty of! Ending on the best song of the album, Untouchable. The ingredients combining here to give an exciting plate of metal that ensures you’re not going to be forgetting about Deadweight anytime soon.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life
“The entire album is a solid piece of work from its instrumentals to its lyricism. ” – Canadian Beats
“…their technical metal, with a lot of a-rhythmic patterns and mega-intensive guitar work, is very hard to find…an open, complex and adventurous album and is definitely a recommendation.” – Lords of Metal
“Slagduster are a sincerely unique proposition and these guys are anything but a deadweight, unshackled by the genre tropes that drag many a good band down and flying free in the process” – Worship Metal

Vocalist/bassist Stephen Reynolds comments:
“Someone is gonna hurt their neck listening to this…This upcoming EP ‘W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T’ sort of started as a joke. I just thought it would be funny to force an acronym for ‘what’s that?’ and I came up with ‘We Have Alottta Thrash Songs That Have Abbreviated Titles’. From there we came up with the concept of an EP with a bunch of forced acronym titles. The EP itself was written somewhat conceptually with the individual songs being very short thrash songs that come together to make one longer progressive thrash track, which harkens back to the title since we don’t even know what it is! We have a ton of new material in the works as well, people can expect new stuff sooner rather than later!”

About:
Protosequence is a reference to the original genome where all life began — much like the band, which existed in principle before they even had a presence. Each of the members were lying in wait to be activated and become the strain that is now Protosequence. Kyle Hunter (guitar) was constantly crafting near-complete songs that were ready to be realized. It did not take long for Kyle and Logan Vars (drums) to finally meet. It seemed as though there were two projects destined to combine into a singular effort to form the final line-up for the band: Logan (drums), Kyle (guitar), Parker (guitar), Joseph (vocals), and Ryan (ex-bassist). Members have a long history in the Edmonton music scene, playing in bands like Anubian and In The Midst Of A Murder since the early 2000s.
The band draws influence from acts like All Shall Perish, August Burns Red, and The Black Dahlia Murder. With a foothold on their influences, they root their music in technicality while layering emotional, yet gruff vocals weaved into every track. The band transitions seamlessly through djent riffs, grinding drums, and groove elements, making their sound versatile and ever-changing. Each live performance is crafted like an album played from front to back, with each song bearing a story and painting the room like a canvas — leaving the colours and experiences on each audience member.

Sci-Fi Metal RAPHEUMETS WELL Posts Mexico Tour Video Diary
“Enders Door” Out Now via Test Your Metal Records

Hickory, N.C. sci-fi metal band RAPHEUMETS WELL (Ra-few-mets) have posted a new video diary chronicling their adventures during their tour of Mexico this past May in support of their new album “Enders Door” released via Test Your Metal Records on May 26th.
Watch their video blog at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C3fn6Kk6jQ
Once again RAPHEUMETS WELL brings forth a voyage enriched with lore and a sound that is a complex mix of classical orchestrations, cosmic synths, and extreme metal to portray the epics of parallel worlds.
The synopsis of this next album “Enders Door” is in the fifth era of the Avomenian Empire, amidst the planetary ruins of Vaath, a rogue traveler would discover an artifact that would forever change his place in the cosmos.
Upon arriving to retrieve the artifact, it became apparent that Eryos’s brother Nathyiem would never make it to their arranged meeting point. In departing from the planet Vaath, Eryos received a distress signal from his brother’s ship, coming from an uncharted planet. Upon arriving, he found a odd world inhabited by a mysterious species called the Dreth led by lecherous matriarch named Eishar. It is here that he would uncover a faced-door, an inter-dimensional gateway to the Ender.

About:
Inspired by the fictitious universe of Sovael, RAPHEUMETS WELL is the name coined to the conscious deity who oversees the anastomosis of the multiverse, the master of portals and inter-dimensional travel. Being personified as a trickster, Rapheumet often creates chaos for unsuspecting voyagers. The word “Well” refers to the gravity wells, which like black holes, are catalyst of change and gateways between the cosmic plains.
Formed in 2008, 2011 and 2012 saw their first two demos followed by their first self release full length ‘Dimensions’ unleashed in 2014 that progressively told a larger story portrayed in a complex saga of Atai (ancient architects) who aid in the propagation of sentient life throughout the multi-verse. In 2016, they released their highly praised sophomore album ‘The Exile’ via Test Your Metal Records.

“Hickory, NC’s Rapheumets Well(pronounced Ra-few-mets) is a band heavily steeped in science fiction and fantasy. And when I say heavily, I mean HEAVILY. They slam dunk their lushly orchestral and luxurious symphonic melodic blackened death metal into a fantastical and fantastically creative and complex world that I don’t even want to embarrass myself trying to explain. But, you gotta give mad ol’ props to any band willing to dive head first into something as elaborately conceptual as this costumed and inventive septet have from the off.” – Decibel Magazine
“if you like the theatrical havoc generated by Fleshgod Apocalypse and Dimmu Borgir, for example, you’ll fall in love for the music found in The Exile, the brand new concept album by the symphonic horde known as Rapheumets Well. ” – The Headbanging Moose
“As you’re about to find out, this first song from the new album combines turbocharged death metal vehemence with sweeping orchestral melodies, interweaving blazing drumwork and rapid-fire riffing with cosmic synthesizer vistas and fluid soloing, vicious growls and hair-raising shrieks with a vaulting clean-sung passage that coincides with the protagonist’s decision to end his apathy.” – No Clean Singing
“The Exilebrings symphonic elements to more intense and sometimes speedy death metal. Solid bursts of adrenaline, with the symphonies effectively working to provide a balance to these heavier moments, as heard in “The Epic of Darmak.” But the band is more than a one-trick pony, and frequently gives way to other flights of fancy while keeping the death metal sharp…an album that is well-written and enjoyable from start to finish. The potential is there for the band to really spread their wings for album number three.” – Dead Rhetoric
