NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – July 16, 2017

For fans of Velvet Revolver, Stone Temple Pilots, AC/DC, Alice In Chains, Buckcherry

Out Now! Toronto Hard Rockers LAST BULLET New EP “80-69-64”

Exclusive Full EP Stream On Idobi Radio

There’s no shortage of bands in this industry content with merely existing, finding satisfaction from a few likes on Facebook and a free round of drinks for showing up. LAST BULLET are NOT that band. They want the world, they want it now, and they’re giving it blood, sweat and tears with no fear of failure. Living and dying by the metaphor of a name that has served them well, they play every show as if it were their last, giving the Canadian rock music scene the much needed swagger and attitude it’s been missing for far too long.

Influenced by Velvet Revolver, Stone Temple Pilots, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and many more, this award-winning, self-made quintet has been part of Canadian hockey history (Video here) in addition to the multiple national tours and festivals they’ve played over the last eight years. Sharing the stage with countless bands such as Aerosmith, Soundgarden, Jane’s Addiction, Bryan Adams, Buckcherry, Monster Truck, One Bad Son, Bleeker, The Wild and more, it can be strongly stated that LAST BULLET can hold their heads high in any company!

Teaming up with IdobiRadio.com, LAST BULLET are exclusively streaming their new EP “80-69-64” for its release as of July 14th.

“Like the best one night stand of your life, “80-69-64″ is a quick and filthy EP loaded with six rounds of high-caliber rock that’ll hit you harder than a rusty sledgehammer to the balls.” comments vocalist Bryan Fontez

The new EP was produced and mixed by Brian Moncarz (The Trews, Our Lady Peace, Bleeker, Circa Survive) mastered by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Marilyn Manson, Liam Gallagher, Royal Blood) to follow their two previous EPs “Love.Lust.Illusion” (2012) and self-titled (2010).

About:

LAST BULLET was forged by a deep passion from five individuals striving to become the very embodiment of rock n’ roll it-self.  Taking great pride in knowing exactly what it takes to get asses shaking, fists pumping and heads banging, LAST BULLET are best known for their utterly intense and electrifying live show. For this Toronto-based quintet, pursuing a career in music is akin to war. The stage is a battlefield, leather is their armour, instruments their weapons, music their ammo and failure the enemy.

With the ambitious goal of re-igniting a market almost completely devoid of swagger and attitude, this is a band that reveres the historical significance of rock music and gladly embraces the blood, sweat and tears necessary to succeed in this industry. The sole reason LAST BULLET has found any success is by holding themselves accountable for giving fans every ounce of their souls on stage. The very integrity of the band relies on this self-imposed creed:

Every song will sound better than it does on the album, every time.

Every note will be performed with charisma, emotion and intensity.

Every dollar of every ticket will be earned in sweat, effort and passion.

Every single fan will be thanked and appreciated every time, every show.

Nothing is ever good enough. Always strive for perfection and NEVER plateau.

“80-69-64 is a short, six-song album that packs a lot of punch and no filler.” – The Frontrow Report

“Do you like rock music that gets your hips moving and head bobbing? Did you enjoy the swagger of Guns and Roses when they broke on to the scene many moons ago? Do you enjoy a touch of the old Stone Temple Pilots rock groove or Def Leppard’s sensible pop rock? These are some of the thoughts that came to mind when listening to Last Bullet’s self-released E.P. 80-69-64. Neatly giftwrapped for your listening pleasure, each song has the strength to stand on its own. There is no filler here folks.” – Adrenaline 101 Radio

“these guys certainly have that late Skynyrd-esque sound to them that I just love! … Rock on lads!” – Wayout Radio

“One of the hardest working bands I’ve ever worked with. Their live show is incredible.” — Brian Moncarz, Producer (Our Lady Peace, The Trews, Circa Survive, Moneen, Yukon Blonde)

“it’s a first-class ticket to headbang city, propelled by a thundering bass and drum section. While there’s plenty of jolting groove in the song (Cold Confines), the rapidly swirling and adrenaline-fueled swarming of the riffs and leads provide different textures — but they also get their hooks in you — while the high, raw, flesh-eating vocals amplify the music’s rushing, rabid intensity.” – No Clean Singing

“There is no taking Planet Eater as anything but deathly serious when they’re delivering such fresh metal sounds as The Boats & Pile of Bones. Hyper-aggressive vocals with a deep brooding guitar tone, it’s death metal as you know it but with a really modern take on groove. Consistently mind-numbingly heavy riffs, explosive drum beats & plenty of hooky moments to keep the momentum going.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“PLANET EATER have a tone that makes them stand out… Check out first track and lead single “The Boats”. Within the first 20 seconds a swinging, almost blues inspired riff wraps itself around your head, and then it comes back heavier (and slower) when the full band kicks in. Around that same time, vocalist Donovan Turner makes his presence known with a full throated straight from the guts of hell bellow, immediately calling these proceedings to order….On their first proper full length, PLANET EATER prove themselves contenders not only in the local scene, but have created a product that is worthy of international listenership.” – KNAC

“They make their presence known loud and clear once again with their opener ‘The Boats’, an incredibly heavy song with some powerful guttural vocals by Turner.” – Mind Noise Network

“Planet Eater comes across as a melting pot of amalgamate death metal. Not afraid to add some modern elements, Planet Eater brings a sound that is both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. Off to a solid start, the future looks bright for Planet Eater, even if the members consider themselves old boys in a new scene.” – The Metal Observer

“Planet Eater from Saskatchewan took the stage and with little said to the audience launched into a crushing and intense set. They were unrelenting as they tore through their twenty five minutes and left the audience wanting more.” – Metal Rules (Live Review – Calgary MetalFest 2014)

PLANET EATER takes their name from the original nemesis of humanity Galactus, the destroyer of worlds. PLANET EATER has risen from the barren prairies, spreading their influence into Western Canada as well as gaining recognition in parts of the US, UK and Russia. The sound of PLANET EATER is as unique as it is familiar, blending thrash and death metal with crushing grooves and devastating vocals. Hints of Morbid Angel, Converge and Bolt Thrower can be found with elements of Sepultura, Strapping Young Lad and Gojira embedded at the core. Hitting the stage with intensity, ability and all the heavy, PLANET EATER’s live show captivates the eyes and forces the uncontrolled and eternal headbang of the helpless metal-head.Hailing from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, PLANET EATER is compromised of Luc Hart, (guitar), Donovan Turner, (vocals), Troy Bleich (bass /vocals) Devin Ubell (guitar) and Nick Eichhorst (drums). In Jan of 2015 Luc Hart recorded and PLANET EATER released their first self titled EP.  This album made significant waves with its unpredictable blend of death, thrash, groove, progressive riffing. Using the album as a tool, PLANET EATER earned slots on numerous festivals across western Canada in 2015-16. These festivals included Loud as Hell, Armstrong Metal Fest, Calgary Metal Fest, ShrEdmonton Metal Fest, Manitoba Metal Fest and Metal Wizard Fest with many shows in between.

Using an aggressive and unique approach to merchandising and marketing PLANET EATER continues to leave its mark wherever it travels. These merchandise sales help finance the many tours across Canada, including their first music video, Burn It To The Ground off their self titled 2015 release. Garnering thousands of views, Burn It To The Ground continues to spread the word of the PLANET EATER.

PLANET EATER used these festivals and numerous shows to gradually hone their sound and define their identity as the band they are today. In winter of 2016 PLANET EATER returned to the studio to begin recording the follow up full length release, Blackness From The Stars. Blackness From the Stars delves deeper into the initial styles of the band, incorporating a percussive and primal natures while creating dark, layered, and atmospheric grooves.

We live on the layers of deep time and history, strata of times past; life literally depends on centuries of decay. Now, progressive extreme metal visionaries CENTURIES OF DECAY build on the metal that has come before to create the metal of the future. Known for creating a huge atmosphere and letting the metal speak for itself in their live performance, the Toronto based quintet are bringing that experience to fans in their debut self-titled album set for release on August 4th. Influenced by bands such as Enslaved, Opeth, Gojira, Isis and Strapping Young Lad, the eight track concept record features CENTURIES OF DECAY‘s sound that is atmospheric, intense, powerful, dynamic and heavy.

Drummer Derrick Doucette comments:

“We’ve often thought about the fragility of civilization throughout history and the idea of events repeating itself. With that in mind, our concept album tells the story of society being born, corrupt and destroyed in an endless cycle. It can be taken as a literal piece of fiction, or even a social commentary. It also comes from more personal issues such as depression, disillusionment and failure.”

Teaming up with MetalMasterKingdom.com, the band reveals their first single off the self-titled debut album “Rise”, a track about pure rebellion and the rise of extreme opposition. It is the band’s most brutal song and is a tribute to the death/black metal that they have been influenced by in the past.

About:

We live on the layers of deep time and history, strata of times past; life literally depends on centuries of decay. Now, progressive extreme metal visionaries CENTURIES OF DECAY build on the metal that has come before to create the metal of the future.

Formed in 2013 in Toronto, Ontario, CENTURIES OF DECAY sound is ‘atmospheric, intense, powerful, dynamic, and heavy’.

Drummer Derrick Doucette explains the roots of the band’s name.

“The intention of the name is to paint an image of nature reclaiming the lands and cities and erasing the traces of humanity once people have been removed from the world. This can also be open to interpretation. Some may see Centuries of Decay as being in reference to an extended period of social degradation or the idea of the planet being a barren land void of life entirely. We chose this name because we felt it conveyed a powerful image and atmosphere, which appropriately went hand-in-hand with our musical style.”

That style will be unleashed by the four-piece on their self-titled debut album due out August 4, 2017, which drummer Derrick Doucette is eager for fans to hear.

“I was told recently that someone found our sound very unique and refreshing. That really meant a lot to me and I would love if that opinion was shared by both old and new fans. I find we’ve taken our influences from various sub-genres of extreme metal and turned them into a tasteful blend of compelling, climactic and devastating intensity on these seven tracks.”

Fans can also expect more music in the future.

“We are already looking forward to writing more material and refining our sound more. I’m excited to see how our sound will evolve…Our fans can expect multiple albums as that was the intent from day one!” adds Doucette.

Live, CENTURIES OF DECAY have their own unique approach to performing, they make every set flow together, creating a huge atmosphere and letting the metal speak for itself.
(bio written by Steve Earles)

– 30 –

“Up next was Centuries Of Decay, who gave us some atmospheric death metal. Devin Doucette and Rob McAllister shared guitar and vocal duties. Devin sang lead and handled a chunk of the brutal vocals but they gave a few great harmonized melodic vocals. Their last song had an additive time signature, which is something that really catches my attention as a musician.” – Metal Master Kingdom (Live Review Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2016 – Toronto)

“What a righteous discovery these guys are. Born out of some space fuzz chamber and dropped down on Nashville, Tennessee, Howling Giant’s form of metal is a unique and eclectic fairy tale trip through the stars.” – New Noise Magazine

“That paragraph you just finished reading (or totally skipped over, fuckin’ whatever) was extremely hard for me to create because it was so fucking difficult to encapsulate how much of a fucking trip this record is. If there is to be a Part 2 to “Black Hole Space Wizard” then consider my pants shat and my wallet thrown at my monitor because I’d pay so much money for that shit.” –  Head Banger Reviews

“Sonically, Howling Giant seem to be the missing link between Monster Truck and Mastodon, and they top it off with whacked-out, sci-fi lyrics about outer space.” – Hellbound

“Rocketing across the interstellar airways on a stellar path of massive grooves, ones fueled by the thrust of the ever-powerful riff and its incendiary combustion, Howling Giant make themselves heard throughout the cosmos on these four out-of-this-world tracks.” – Metal Nexus

“If modern day Mastodon got together with Crobot, added some Monster Truck style Hammond Organ and Elder’s gift for writing something fuzzy and glorious, then to be honest, it’d probably sound a little like this.” – Maximum Volume Music

“If you want to have an ear wedding you mix the sounds of old and new to make something fresh. Nashville’s own Howling Giant have skipped the wedding and went straight to the honeymoon with sounds as old as OG Sabbath to Baroness, Red Fang with a little Pelican and CKY mixed in. Totally familiar, yet totally fresh.” – Zombie Tap Dance

HOWLING GIANT! The very name summons up mental images of a huge mutated orc-warrior astride an even more gigantic mastodon, ready to bring death, doom, damnation and destruction (and many other things beginning with “d”) down upon its enemies.

Names matter, and something magical happened when three nerds obsessed with all that is fuzzed-out, riffed-out, and heavy came together to compose cosmic odes to space travel, doomed sea-farers, and even an android on a camel-killing crusade (what harm did the poor camel ever do to him?), under the name Howling Giant.

Drummer Zach Wheeler says the name is no accident and reflects the band’s music.

“Howling Giant sounds a lot like a loud beast, which is what we strive to do musically. We aim to create a full sound that people might normally expect from a five-piece rather than a power-trio.” Indeed, by employing the three-piece format, Howling Giant is following in the footsteps of legends like Motorhead, MC5, Cream, and Corrosion of Conformity; good company to be in! As the band’s philosophy would have it wisely: “Teamwork makes the dream work.”

Hailing from Nashville, Howling Giant obviously had some special metal immunity to all the country and western music in the air. The boys started jamming at school in Boston with an aim to move away from overtly serious music and have fun, describing their music accurately as “loud, energetic, heavy, melodic, and cosmic.”

Overall, Howling Giant’s music forms part of a fascinating Black Hole Space Wizard concept EP series, which the trio returns with Part 2 due out on August 25th, 2017 to follow Part 1 released almost exactly a year prior.

“Hopefully for our returning fans, it is accepted with open arms and an open mind. As Part 2 of the 3 piece saga, this EP was meant to focus on the travels and trials of The Pioneer, protagonist, and last of mankind. The music reflects his growth and self discovery on a post-apocalyptic planet Earth. To new fans/fresh ears, we’d like to invite them into the Black Hole Space Wizard universe through fat stomping riffs, spacey grooves, accessible vocal melody and juicy, pulpy sci-fi madness. We always try to refine our song writing and take one step into new territory with each release, pulling stylistically from whatever inspires us in the moment. Our recorded music is our best interpretation of the sounds we hear in our heads, and our goal is to make our sonic visions clearer with each release.” says Wheeler.

Overall, if you are one of the many that wishes Mastodon had continued in the cosmic, crushing progressive manner of Crack The Skye and Blood Mountain, Howling Giant is your dream band!

About the album Track by Track explained by the band.

The meaning behind the EP is that we follow the travels of The Pioneer on his quest for self discovery and purpose on the husk planet, Earth.

1. Henry Tate paints a psychedelic scene built on the development of a groove and atmosphere. This opening track sets the scene for the rest of the album. The only vocals that are present are the introspective thoughts of The Pioneer picking up almost directly after the finish of Black Hole Space Wizard Part 1.

2. The Pioneer. This track features a delicious bass riff that grounds the listener before introducing a triumphant chorus and stomping riffs. On this track, you can find Tom heating up the room with some fiery pentatonic exploration.

3. Visions. This track is heavy, best described as a slab. It is a strange cocktail of darkness and triumph. This track focuses on the slow, the heavy, and the darker places of The Pioneer’s mind.

4. The Forest Speaks. Instrumental provides the listener with a break from the crushing full band arrangement. Featuring Acoustic Guitar, Baritone Sax, and floating synth, invites you to relax before the oncoming storm.

5. Circle of Druids. This song charges forward and breaks the listener out of the lethargic headspace of the previous track. With a focus on vocal harmony and a percussive instrumental approach, a soaring lead line closes out the track and leads you into the final chapter of Part 2.

6. Earth Wizard. Trudging and glorious, this song gives closure to Part 2. Buckle up for 7 minutes in heaven.

More press:

“They prove quickly that they can do the one just as well as the other. That kind of becomes a running theme as well for Black Hole Space Wizard Part 1 in that the band doesn’t ever set foot onto territory where they aren’t immediately at home.” – The Obelisk

“Howling Giant come across as a confident band that are bursting at the seams with invigorating hooks that sound as familiar as they are new. They have the discipline to take their time fleshing out riffs without losing sight of the song, their energy and passion is felt throughout, which is the glue that holds this EP together.” – The Sludgelord

“Blowing out your speakers and filling your head with more fuzz than you can handle is Howling Giant and their new EP titled Black Hole Space Wizard Part 1. With a name such as Howling Giant and with a name such as the one that they gave to their EP you can expect big things, and Howling Giant delivers. Black Hole Space Wizard Part 1 is only four songs long and twenty-one total minutes but within those minutes you get a menagerie of sounds that come together to create mystical soundscapes and a wondrous story.” – Cadaver Garden

“Running at just over 21 minutes  & combing the ethereal grunge vocal of Soundgarden, the doom of early Mastodon & the conceptual imagery of Arjen Lucassan.  Howling Giant have produced an E.P that is as fucked up as this three-way sounds. Tim Polzine (guitar & vocals), Roger Warks (bass & vocals) & Zach Wheeler (drums & vocals) are great musicians, with an understanding of being as tight as a submarines doors as well as giving each other enough room to breath.” – All About The Rock

“The band sounds like a mad creature wailing away….perfect!…This is one of those albums that you need to put on, open the windows, and blow your neighbors away with the massive sounds on display. Grab a copy of this album now…..what are you waiting for?” – Altered Frequencies

“Fuzz yeah, this is the shit. Well, it is if you’re into bands like Mastodon, Baroness and Red Fang. Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, USA, Howling Giant comes up with some infectious stoner rock, nudging towards psychedelic rock and doom. The trio seemingly consists of nerds who combine their love for comics, space travel and downtuned, fuzzed-out guitars.” – Merchants of Air

“Howling Giant are very capable of writing catchy compositions that are interesting on an artistic level while also playing perfectly to an audience.” – Metal Trenches

“Fuzz rock with the kinetics of a bikini-babe monster flick and the high drama of a mid-70’s Marvel comic book.” – You May Be Dead and Dreaming

“Slightly reverberated and charismatic vocals set to an astonishing stoned out groove. Take a look to what the others had to say. It’s stirring up some dust in the stoner scene and makes for some high expectations of what more is to come.” – Ripple Music

“The way they incorporate inspirations with great musical and songwriting talents and a huge sense of “I don’t give a fuck what you think”- attitude, gives me such satisfaction.” – The Ripple Effect

“You guys sound like an evil Bachman-Turner Overdrive.” – Dave Cloud

“Who could not like a band that “plays self-indulgent, drop-tuned, fuzzed out riffs that could curdle milk?” Check out the epic “Whale Lord” to hear what they’re talking about.” – The Deli Magazine (Nashville)
