NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 31, 2017

For fans of Motorhead mixed with Dissection

WARCALL Premiere New Video “Riding With Zombies” via TheSludgelord

New Album “Invaders” Out October 13th via Plan B Musique

European Tour Dates (FR/DE/BE/CZ)

L-R: Phil – Drums, Mat – Guitars, Gord – Vocals and Bass

Inspired by Iron Maiden, Metallica, Motorhead, Dissection and Slayer, WARCALL’s music is fast, aggressive, melodic and dramatic. Unleashing three well-received albums under their bullet-belts (‘Demonarchy’, ‘Blood, Guts and Dirt’, ‘III’), this Montreal, QC power-trio’s fourth assault “Invaders” hits the mosh pit on October 13th via Plan B Musique.

Featuring 10 tracks, the album is concept release based on humans fighting back an alien invasion with a message of fighting oppression, resisting, reconquering, but without knowing if it is really over.

Vocalist / guitarists Mathieu Simard comments:

“Everybody who has followed WarCall since our beginnings will be extremely satisfied with ‘Invaders’.  It is our best sound, best production, best song writing and best musical performances.  The new album is a return to the style on the first two albums.  On album ‘III’, we wanted a raw approach so it was recorded live in the studio on analog tape for a truly rock and roll feel.  With ‘Invaders’, it’s a more polished production with more energy and experience.”

Teaming up with TheSludgelord, WARCALL are premiering the video for their first single “Riding With Zombies”. The video features stock footage from George A. Romero’s “Night of The Living Dead” movie and is a track about the grueling life of touring.

Watch “Riding With Zombies” – http://thesludgelord.blogspot.com/2017/08/video-premiere-quebecs-warcall-deliver.html

Following the release of “Invaders”, WARCALL will be embarking on their third European tour (dates listed below).

Simard adds about their live set:

“We want our fans to travel into the universe that we create. For a three-piece, we make a lot of noise. We also include scenic elements that remind the audience of a battlefield so the mood is set up from the beginning of the show. And we dress up military style so there is really no confusion as to who is on stage when we play.”

Track Listing:
1. Mission Commando (4:45)
2. Riding with Zombies (3:32)
3. Bully Bastard (3:13)
4. Mass Extinction (4:43)
5. The Man Who Suffers (5:33)
6. Fight Back (4:25)
7. Black Panther (3:30)
8. Through the Dusk (4:08)

An amazing thing about our modern multi-media connected world is it allows us to discover amazing music that a generation ago would have been impossible.

Such a band is Mexico City instrumental prog metal four- piece Glass Mind. Trying to describe Glass Mind’s music is like trying to count the grains of sand on a beach; this is quantum music for a quantum universe, mixing metal, jazz, ethnic and more. Glass Mind knows no boundaries, every note is suffused with deep meaning.

Their new album “Doedcaedro” was released in Europe earlier this year on May 5, 2017 to a great reception from fans and will now be released in North America on September 8th to follow their 3 instrumental singles “Detritus” (2014), “Inside the Whale” (2014) and “Babel” (2015) plus their 2011 debut album “Haunting Regrets”. Doedcaedro” is a conceptual album where each song represents an element of nature; fire, air, water, earth and ether. Because there are no lyrics in Glass Mind’s music, this allows them to transcend borders and boundaries and make connections with all lovers of music no matter what their nationalities.

Influenced by everything from Metallica and Dream Theater through to Ryuichi Sakamoto and Philip Glass, guitarist Pablo Berthir describes their sound as “eclectic, spiritual, dramatic, colourful and energetic.”

Glass Mind have a special bond that transcends their ethereal music. They met when they were very young, when they used to live in the south of Mexico City. They were all students at the same musical academy. Each year there would be a competition between bands from different academies across the country. In 2006, Glass Mind came first in the competition, winning a trip to Japan, which gave them a strong motivation to make music that continues to this day.

Live, fans can expect from Glass Mind the “absolute concentration of the musicians, executing their instruments with grace and mastery. One second you’ll be head-banging and at the next one you’ll be crying. Our goal is to ‘slap’ the audience musically and when they leave the place they wonder what the hell they just saw!”

“Doedcaedro” will be available in North America as of September 8th on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, etc

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 31, 2017

For fans of Symphony X, Dream Theater, Stratovarius

North American Release Sept 8th via Rockshots Records

Swedish Prog Metal BINARY CREED “A Battle Won”

All great art reflects the world around it. It does not exist in a vacuum. It fearlessly holds up a mirror to reality as it is rather than what we would wish it to be.

Such art is grist for the mill to Swedish progressive metal band BINARY CREED, who follow up their well-received ‘Restitution’ album with their new “A Battle Won”opus through Rockshots Records / MVD Entertainment Distribution for North American release on September 8th, 2017.

Inspired by power and progressive metal such as Judas Priest, Queensryche, Nevermore and Opeth, singer Andreas Stoltz describes the sound of BINARY CREED as “melodic, gritty, atmospheric, layered and heavy!”

Stoltz says the subject matter of “A Battle Won” is as heavy as its music.

“The album is a concept album about war, blind obedience and what you sometimes need to do to get away and make yourself a better life. It is about making a stand against oppression and violence even it’s at a very high cost. The opening track ‘Servants’ portrays the madness of blindly following someone else’s doctrine into war. ‘The Fallen King’ is about realising that what you felt was right and important was actually wrong and futile. It’s also about choosing family over religious dogma and facing mortality- that all you have is this brief moment here on Earth.”

Stoltz sees his band as very much reflecting reality.

“The world around me inspires. Sometimes personal experiences and sometimes political events. Example, our previous album ‘Restitution’ deals with the inner conflicts of a young person and the difficulties for them to find identity and solid ground. Religion seemed like an option for a while for them, but I wrote the lyrics so you interpret the album either way.”

Stoltz says BINARY CREED are a different beast live.

“We try to do the albums justice.  You’ll get mature musicians who know what they’re doing!”

“A Battle Won” will be available in North America as of September 8th. Pre-order available on Amazon here.

About:

Assembled in 2003 to infiltrate, build and destroy, Gatineau, QC’s INSURRECTION is an aural onslaught assaulting witnesses in both languages of French and English. Known for blending calculated technicality with a signature mixture of merciless death metal, the band has emerged to be one of the most prominent Eastern Canadian metal bands.

“We are a hybrid of the best and the worst that the metal underground has to offer, completely familiar, yet hard to pin down, better categorized as the many oddly familiar faces that death metal can take.”says band founder and vocalist Stef Jomphe.

Their 2009 debut release ‘Prologue’ gave true life to their monstrosity, the formation launched their second release 2010′s ‘Fracture’, a dark prophecy of unforgivable times and a brutal soundtrack to the fall of man. It pushed the limits with every outing, creating Insurrection to become more than the sum of its parts, but a merciless abomination.

In 2013, their third album ‘Prototype’ produced by Topon Das (Fuck The Facts) was unleashed on Quebec label Galy Records and another well acclaimed brutal assault that converted the unwitting to their legion.

Pushing development to blasphemous levels and quickly spreading their notoriety to areas of Quebec and Ontario. INSURRECTION continues to expand and modulate to corrupt the entire East coast of Canada returning with their new album “Extraction”. A ten track aberration, ready to shock and blast fans to the next life, the album is produced by Pierre Rémillard at Wild Studio (Cryptopsy, Obliveon, Anonymus, Voivod, Krisiun, Ghoulunatics, Despised Icon, Beneath the Massacre, Gorguts, Martyr, etc) and features guest vocals from Bruno Bernier (Obliveon) on “Data Extracted … End Transmission”. The album is slated for release on October 6, 2017 via Galy Records.

“Insurrection play a groovy type of death metal that’s equal parts Dying Fetus, Decapitated and Lamb of God.”  – Metal Sucks

“Head-banging, crushing riffs are the name of the game throughout Prototype, starting with the aptly titled “Abattoir,” which slashes and chops its way through speedy, thrash-esque rhythms and machine-gun drums. “The Chronophobes” adds some technical twists, as well as a more unpredictable structure, while highlight “Checkmate” balances intense grooves and an abundance of fierce, grimy riffs. The album features lyrics in both French and English, adding more interest to the vocals, which range from deep gutturals to high-pitched shrieks…it’s a well-executed, strong release.” – Exclaim!

““Prototype” is the band’s third record, and it’s packed full of jaw-dropping metal brilliance. It’s as solid a death metal record as I’ve heard in the last little while, and it makes me proud – because it’s always good to see something great come out of your hometown.” – Bloody Underrated

“If you are a fan of vigorous and crushing guitar riffs and Growls that are strong enough to make your ears bleed then you need to check this album out. A huge and very successful aspect about this album is the fact that there are songs in both English and French. Even if you can only understand a few lyrics in French like me you will easily surpass this fact and be simply drawn in by the technical Death Metal display that Insurrection puts on in this album.” – Kingston Music Reviews

“One of many great things about the album is the mix of English and French sung batterings upon the senses, the mix adding extra pleasing flavour and texture as shown through the likes of Sueurs Froides, where the bass of Girard reaches into its primal depths to forge a rabid predatory voice to its sound, and the virulently swarming Trois Minutes De Carnage, the track a magnetic pestilence with senses licking grooves and acidic enticement around thumping rhythmic incitement commanding the emotions and imagination.” – Ring Master Review

“Badder Than Brooklyn is one of those wonderful albums that will give you little to complain about…one of the best heavy metal releases this year. Shatterproof & Internal War Pt. 2 confirm this with the former a very traditional & groove-layered slab while the latter goes for a more melodic approach.” Games, Brrrains & A Head-Banging Life

“Badder Than Brooklyn is a solid debut album of modern metal that’s worth seeking out.” – Heavy Metal HQ

“Great for a pounding run or a body-wrecking workout, Badder Than Brooklyn will satisfy fans of metal, hard rock, or good old-fashioned rock and roll.” – Shockwave Mag

“The energy in the room was electrifying, and it was impossible not to mosh and head bang with intense vigour. The band’s connection on stage was infectious, as it was obvious that these guys loved what they were doing and loved doing it together.” – The Phoenix News – Live Review – Kelowna, BC

“Badder Than Brooklyn is a formidable effort by these talented newcomers. Considering the fact that this is their debut album, I most certainly think that they have nailed it. With memorable and we’ll crafted songwriting, if these guys keep up their work I see a bright future ahead if them. Undoubtedly an album that I will recommend for all Thrash/Groove Metal enthusiasts. That being said I hope they will come back even stronger in their sophomore effort for which I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled.” – Metal Centre

“Toronto-based Decatur, with their debut release Badder Than Brooklyn, has created a metal album for metal’s sake, a traditionally fast, heavy riffing, drivingly intense set of tunes to be included on an FM radio station in the next installment of Grand Theft Auto playing between Megadeth’s “Holy War…The Punishment Due”, Metallica’s “Battery”, and right after Pantera’s “Walk”.” – Canadian Beats

“The ten track album is an eclectic powerhouse. ” Groove Talk Podcast

“Intense riffing, heavy drum beats, melodic hooks and dark vocals are what the listener gets offered” – Obliveon.de

Toronto-based metal messiahs Decatur comprised of Jay “Beard” Sarrazin (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Tiny Basstank (Bass/Backup Vocals), Steve “Animal” Mitchell (Drums/ Backup Vocals), and Liam Maguire (Guitar/Backup Vocals) have sensed the hunger from metal fans for proper metal with real songs, music built on the foundations of the past to last far into the future. Make no mistake, Decatur are a band that puts the grit into integrity, as guitarist/vocalist Jay ‘Beard’ Sarrazin says, Decatur make “real metal for real metalheads.”

Named after their very own Street of Dreams in New York, where they recorded their debut album at Silvercord Studios in Brooklyn, Decatur get their unique sound by being opened-minded, not just to each other in this band of brothers, but to different genres, not just of metal, but also the blues, rock ‘n’ roll and even pop! Decatur’s criteria if it’s good they can make it better! They focus on evolution not devolution. There is no fear of Decatur repeating themselves musically; for them…the world is not enough. They see themselves as intrepid explorers, never playing it safe, always looking for new lands to conquer, and in the process drawing on creative powers they never knew they possessed.

Their debut album “Badder Than Brooklyn” produced by Joe Duplantier of Gojira is all-killer, no filler, it doesn’t hide behind its production; it compliments it. These are truly songs of power and empowerment, a clarion call for strength in life’s battles…healing through headbanging. From the power shredding of “Into The Night” and the storytelling of “Badder Than Brooklyn” to the brutal beat down of songs like “Bottled Inside” and “Internal War”, Decatur feel modern metal has lost its way and they’re here to provide the roadmap forward to the future!

“We put a lot of effort into writing real songs and putting out a real album that hopefully touches a broad fan base. Our goal was to make sure that not only every single song had been thoroughly thought through, but that it was given all the attention and passion that we truly felt they deserved. We honestly feel like metal has lost its way a bit and we were set on writing something original and not following the trends of today such as low tunings, aggressive growling and perfectly lined up music and sound. We focused on the realness of ourselves and wanted to produce something that wasn’t always perfect and was as real and as honest as we could be. We did not need or want to hide behind production. We wanted our raw talent to be caught and portrayed to everyone. Our goal was to produce something from the soul, not from the computer.” Says Sarrazin.

Live, Decatur lays down molten metal for their masses with years of touring experience from their previous bands Caym, Burning The Day, A Sin For A Prayer, this local super group is hungrier than ever and excited to show their dominance as a force to reckon with in the Canadian metal scene and soon worldwide.

“We pride ourselves on a high energy, hard-hitting live performance. We are not like most bands that stand there and stare at their instruments. Playing live is almost like a healing process for us and we need to play with a significant amount of power and energy to portray the songs in the right way and give them the respect they deserve.  We want our fans to come for an experience not just a live show!”

“Badder Than Brooklyn” is due out October 6, 2017.

About the album and track by track explained by Decatur.

The meaning of this record is to give those who struggle with mental illness a place to feel safe or a place to feel like they are not alone. That there are others out there going through the exact same feelings and emotions as they are and hopefully listening to this record makes them feel a little calmer, a little safer, a little less alone.

1. Internal War- This song represents the internal struggle you go through to conquer mental illness.

2. Into The Night – This song represents pushing your own boundaries to do what you love to do.

3. Vegas Girl – This song represents letting go and having fun, also the dangers of taking strangers back to the hotel on your tour and what they’re real intentions could be.

4. Worst Enemy – This song represents how you can become your own worst enemy. How you can build things up in your head and make things seem worse than they are.

5. Badder Than Brooklyn – This song represents someone suffering from mental illness and psychotic episodes. It’s a story about a murderer running loose through New York.

6. Bottled Inside – This song is about the anger and stress that a person bottles up instead of dealing with it and it overcoming them into violence.

7. Tear You – This song is about how if you could peer into the soul of someone with mental illness, it would tear your soul apart not knowing the pain they hide.

8. Abaddon – This song is about Beard losing his father to cancer. Beard is trying to talk to his father and let him know where he is in life and that he is fighting for his own life.

9. Shatterproof – This song represents the constant fight of someone struggling in the world. That the world won’t break us and how mental illness will not win the war.

10. Internal War Pt. 2 – Although there are no lyrics in this song, this song represents the anxiety attack that occurs inside. How you can be calm as water and then anxiety strikes and continues to attack your mind to the point where you feel like you are in a hurricane that is not controllable.
