Heartbeat Hot Sauce Co. Endorse WOODHAWK “Strikes Back Tour” (AB/SK/BC)
Riff-tastic Debut LP “Beyond The Sun” Out Now!
New Video “The High Priest”

Calgary’ AB’s masters of straight ahead riff-rock wizardry WOODHAWK are now officially endorsed by Heartbeat Hot Sauce Co. during their Western Canadian “Strikes Back Tour”. The band will be giving away free samples at their merch table and able to answer any hot sauce aficionado’s questions.
“We’re super excited to be working with Heartbeat Hot Sauce. We’ve been a big fan of them for a long time. When we tour, we cook a lot on the road, and can’t wait to make some tasty tour meals and Caesars with their amazing lineup of sauces.” comments drummer Kevin Nelson.

The Thunder Bay, ON based Heartbeat Hot Sauce Co. was founded in 2015. After years of hot sauce obsession, founders Nancy Shaw and Al Bourbouhakis decided to stop purchasing and start cooking! Being in the restaurant industry they had been working with a local pepper farmer for several years (Chris Paulusma). After months of experimenting with different varieties, the duo developed a recipe using what has become their favourite pepper: the Red Habanero. Shortly after selling to friends and industry peers, Shaw and Bourbouhakis realized they had something truly addictive and decided to start the company. Heartbeat Hot Sauce is available from various retailers and restaurants across Canada plus available for purchase online. For more info, please visit: http://www.heartbeathotsauce.com.
WOODHAWK are currently on the road this September for their second Western Canadian tour (AB/SK/BC) (dates listed below) in support of their full length album ‘Beyond The Sun’ released this past April. The album was produced by the band with Jesse Gander (Bison, Japandroids) to follow their 2014 debut EP. Made of equal parts 1970’s Birmingham and a myriad of 21st century heavy who’s who, WOODHAWK are purveyors of riff-centric rock and roll. Capable and original, the band is able to craft anthemic fist-pumping songs while forgoing tired stoner rock clichés. With time travel tested themes of science fiction, swords and sorcery, the band’s lyrics are born from snowy winters, hot practice spaces and pages of dog-eared paperbacks. While the musicianship reinforces recollections of Black Sabbath, modern influences that have helped you smash air drums or highway speed limits are undeniably present.
‘Beyond The Sun’ album stream available on Bandcamp at https://woodhawk.bandcamp.com.
The album is available on digital, vinyl and CD.
The band’s music video ‘The High Priest’ can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5g5jTKtEfM

“Beyond the Sun is incredibly infectious and memorable and right from the get go, you know that you are in for a ride. Even if for whatever reason you are in a bad mood, this record will straighten that out in a hurry as it has you nodding your head and belting the lyrics out with the vocalist in no time….a release that is easy to listen to and get into but isn’t easy to put down by any means. Once you begin listening you have a hard time tearing yourself away from your speakers.” – Cadaver Garden
““Beyond The Sun, is overflowing with everything one could want from a great stoner rock record, thick, rumbling bass tones, sizzling guitar fuzz and infectious, mid tempo riffage, making this the kind of album that is very hard to stop listening to” – The Sludgelord
“Woodhawk have a new album – Beyond The Sun – and it’s one that ticks all right boxes if you’re a serious fan of Stoner Rock. Taking influence from bands such as Kyuss, The Sword and Truckfighters. Woodhawk offer a refreshing style of Psych Stoner Metal with moments of Fuzz and Desert Rock that add extra grit to their music.” – Outlaws of The Sun
“The whole album put me in a good mood. Although I am a fan of a more distorted and fuzz-y sounding stoner rock, this was a great cleaned up take…The killer trio band have really created their own rules. One of which is trying to throw out stoner rock stereotypes. And it’s working brilliantly for them. Beyond the Sun is exactly what one would expect from Woodhawk. Riffs and riffs and riffs and high energy drums and more riffs…Moral of the story: this is the perfect CD to pop on when you feel like dancing in your underwear while cleaning your room. I would recommend “Beyond the Sun” to anyone who would like a less distorted version of Red Fang. Which is definitely a compliment, for the record.” – Bangs!
“As I was walking into the venue, I began hurrying up the stairs as their sound captured my attention right away and was quickly swept up into their thick pulse thumping guitars and huge powerhouse drum sound.” – Vancity Buzz
“Calgarian riff-riders Woodhawk kicked off the proceedings, hitting all the gritty notes with their raucous roadhouse metal. Propane and Jack flowed freely as the golden western trio woke all them witches with their thematic rock fury.” – Beatroute Magazine

New Noise Magazine Premiere ARISEN FROM NOTHING’s New Track “Chaos”
New EP “Broken” Out September 29th via Collective Wave Records

Seattle has long been a melting pot of great music, a veritable cauldron of creativity. Seattle has given the world bands of the diverse caliber of Heart, Sanctuary and Soundgarden. It is a place where aural alchemy is real and bands know they are in a magical place to create music. Such a band is ARISEN FROM NOTHING, even their name is powerful, conjuring forth images of the phoenix in the flames; a potent symbol of strength and rebirth. Inspired by Lamb of God, Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, Killswitch Engage, guitarist Troy Elmore describes ARISEN FROM NOTHING’s sound as “aggressive, driving, groovy, powerful, brutal”.
He is stoked for fans to hear AFN’s new EP “Broken”, which draws inspiration from the state of the world around us and is a strident call for unity.
“There’s a lot of subject matter fans should be able to relate to so I’m hoping it will be received well. Fans will appreciate the new AFN sound, and new direction the band is going in. We wanted songs that had moments of musical complexity but maintain a groove that gets your toes tapping and your head banging.”

“This song was always meant to open the album due to the long string intro that starts the song, the song isn’t very fast but has a groove element and lyrical content that we felt should be the first thing people hear. It has small amounts of all the new sounds the band has evolved into.”

Metal-Rules Premiere NERVCAST Video “Fallen Angels”
New EP “Locked And Loaded” Due Out October 21st

Toronto, ON’s NERVCAST will be unleashing their debut EP “Locked And Loaded” on October 21st. Just as the title describes, this EP introduction from the band is full of four hard hitting tracks that are catchy and have lyrics that are relevant. The EP was mastered by Joey Sturgis (Asking Alexandra, The Devil Wears Prada) plus produced/engineered by Collin Young (Animal Faces, Godstopper, Yonder Peak) and captures the band’s love for classic rock while maintaining today’s standard in modern production.
Teaming up with Metal-Rules.com, NERVCAST are premiering their video for their first single “Fallen Angels”.
Vocalist / guitarist Everett Mason comments:
“I would like to introduce the world to our brand new band Nervcast. This video is for our debut song “Fallen Angels” off our upcoming EP “Locked And Loaded”. The video features British actor Paul Mason and in the storyline kidnaps the band and holds us captive while we perform a classical arrangement of our song. In Paul’s mansion, he has installed a jail cell in the basement where he keeps us as prisoners until he wants us to perform for him. We had a lot of fun working with the talented Aaron Alter, who put this whole video together.”

“Support comes from Australia’s thrash sensations Mason says Annihilator main man Jeff Waters: “With all the great bands that sent in demos, cds and links, the one that stoof out was these guys. My guitarist Aaron and I sat and listened to some of their songs and realized that this band will kick our asses if we don’t start practicing a bit more! Killer thrash band and genuine.” – Jeff Waters Annihilator
“In town as part of their national tour in support of their latest album “Impervious”, Mason are a thrash force to be reckoned with and their performance tonight was, as recently heard and so eloquently stated, “tight as a nun’s nasty”. No truer words could be said as the Melbourne thrashers brutalised the crowd with their brand of unadulterated vintage thrash that proves that Melbourne truly is a breeding ground for some of the best thrash metal not only in Australia, but in the world.” – The Rock Pit (Live Review)
“There is a real party vibe to this set… well, the whole night but everyone has been waiting for Mason to take the stage. And when they finally do so, Jimmy and the boys prove why they are making a massive dent in the scene locally and internationally.” – Metal-Roos (Live Review)
“Such awesome thrash, it blew me away. They play this solid thrash – clearly old school Metallica & Megadeth influenced and as metal as it can be.” – Metal Roos (Live Review)
“The best thing about Mason is that their eagerness for playing thrash really shines through. They don’t forget that thrash metal fans want to hear thrash metal; not death metal or black metal. Sure, there are a couple of blastbeats, but if you just want a band that plays fast and will make you bang your head insanely hard,Mason is the perfect choice. True to the subgenres’ roots, the band is able to incorporate Maiden/Priest influences into their music, while still spending the majority of the time thrashing. ” – Skull Fracturing Metal
“Mason once again proves the charm of Aussie bands, with the huge, sweeping riffs instantly hooking the listener into their brand of groovy, thrash metal. ” – Heavy Metal Tribune

Recently, about 2 months ago, Gord was hanging out at a jam session and by the end of it we all sort of realized that the opportunity for Gord to learn some songs and start jamming was now possible. Gord really took bull by the horns and has learned a 10-song live set in a matter of just weeks… and he’s nailing it; really adding another huge layer of thickness and some killer leads too! We couldn’t be more stoked to have dual guitarists again!”

About:
Divinity, based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, started in 1997 and began playing live shows in 1999. In 2001, the band released its first EP album called “Intensify” which received a lot of local (Canadian) praise after sending in a couple songs to BWBK’s ‘Knuckletrack’ CD sampler. A music video was released for the song “World of Pain” in 2003 and the band played local shows building its show experience.
Fast forward to 2007, Divinity independently releases their first full-length album called “Allegory” and is picked up by Nuclear Blast Records just 3 months after the independent release. Obviously, this was a major turning point for the band!
In 2008, Divinity took on its first major tour by joining the Summer Slaughter Canada tour. This gave them the opportunity to connect to high-calibre booking agents and other acts such as Dying Fetus, Whitechapel, and Necrophagist.
In 2009, Divinity spent it’s time creating their 2nd full-length album, called “The Singularity” which was released under Candlelight Records with a very positive response from numerous reviewers and listeners.
Since the release of The Singularity, Divinity has toured Canada numerous times over and has received massive support and praise from around the world.
The band is currently releasing a trilogy EP concept album now turned into a full-length LP, called ‘The Immortalist’ available May 26th, 2017 at all digital music stores and as a special limited run CD Digipak.

“DIVINITY: F*CKING WOW…Divinity definitely make my balls quiver.” – Metalsucks.net
“Technical death metal fans will find Divinity to be a hybrid of several genres that all have a hand in formulating the band’s sonic reverence. From soft piano to sky-raising clean vocals, every attempt is made to show that monotony and predictability is not in Divinity’s DNA.” – Metal Underground
“Divinity is easily among Canada’s elite bands (along with Into Eternity for example) that have that the new ‘Western Canadian’ sound that morphs Death, Thrash, Prog and crazy chops into one sweet package.” – Metal-Rules
“If you like you metal hard, fast & heavy then The Immortalist is for you. Super-fast paced with furious sounding riffs & vocals, this is an album that gets in your face from the moment Manhunt begins & only steps back when then final notes of Conqueror play out. That’s 68 minutes of pure noise assault.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life
“It is hard for me to find a death metal record that keeps me engaged, and DIVINITY successfully unlocks that achievement by doing a masterful job of keeping it interesting and telling a story with the arrangements and the lyrics. That’s the way it should be!” – MUEN Mag
“The Immortalist – delivering over 67-minutes of intricacies, fluid guitar play, insane time signature manipulations, and varied clean/extreme vocal expressions for the consumers to digest…. The Immortalist is ideal for people who love the marriage of Swedish melodic death and progressive/technical metal that doesn’t go far off the rails – dripping with a touch of cyber-orientation to give things that fresh nature to the proceedings.” – Dead Rhetoric
“Divinity have absolutely knocked it out of the park with this eventual third full-length release. Far from a pale imitation of its many and varied influences, The Immortalist is rather a perfect culmination of everything those impressive acts have so far sought to create. This record has the potential to be an absolute worldbeater if given a chance. If you have even a slight interest in any of the bands mentioned in this review, then you owe it to yourself to go and pick up a copy of The Immortalist immediately.” – The Metal Observer
“‘The Immortalist’ is a wonderful trilogy, which has been brought together as one now and to which lovers of melodic. progressive death metal can quench their thirst on. Fans of previous work or bands such as In Mourning, Into Eternity, Mercenary and Mors Principium Est can buy this blindly.” – Lords of Metal
