“I don’t know what’s with Quebec and great quality Technical Death Metal but we have another winner on our hands…. I needed to catch my breath because it was some pretty relentless blast beast and technical wizardry. I was glad to have a bit of a break before their unleashed some more crushing songs… they really hit a home run with this album and I wish them unrivaled success in the coming future.”

I would insist, though, that you give “Fallen Cathedrals” a try if you’re looking for fresh and unusual technical metal but you also miss old Opeth and Dimmu Borgir, with some serious twists.
“The Virulent Host” is the culmination of nine years of skill and style honing and follows a collection of small releases that mark this journey, as a debut full length it delivers as something really quite impressive.

As far as EP’s go I found this to be highly entertaining, a wealth of different genre influences are on display and each and every one is given its time to shine. Yet in the same breath nothing is overshadowed or overdone instead we are left with what I would consider to be a well rounded, strong Death Metal EP full of the bite a vigour which such a band needs to succeed. If you’re looking for something new that is able to appeal to the many branches of Death Metal fans then Anomalism are your go to.
