Tales of The Tomb – Volume Two : Mendacium (2019) (EP)

For fans of Macabre, At The Gates, Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Blood Red Throne, Psychological Horror Metal / Death Metal / Murder Metal

Release Date: September 27, 2019

Label: Self-Release

“RIYL: Serial killers and death metal. Now, many of you may think the two already go hand in hand, but new dimensions of depravity are opened when you take the murderous criminals Macabre and Church of Misery have been glorifying forever and backdrop it with noise more akin to Cannibal Corpse Fist-****ing At The Gates. Or Vice Versa.” – Decibel Magazine

“Overall, I recommend this album to death metal fans of all varieties. It is a fun album with a lot of great riffs. Also, I highly recommend reading the lyrics and learning about the conspiracy theories behind the songs.” – Metal Temple

“Volume Two: Mendacium is six songs of punishing metal fit for listeners with the heaviest of taste. Whether you’re spending time carving pumpkins or watching slasher movies this Halloween season, be sure to make room on your playlist for Tales of the Tomb.” – Surviving The Golden Age

” Their new, independently released EP is heavy as ice and laced up with razor-sharp production. Volume Two: Mendacium is a non-stop frosty riff fest, delivered on a moose-poutine platter of awesome production thanks to the Canucks over at The Grid. Slapshot your wallets & pick up this death metal gem.” – TrveNorth Reviews

“The need to head bang is strong with this one, and it made for an excellent addition to my Death Metal library.” – New-Transcendence

“All in all, Tales of the Tomb’s latest installment is a rather subtle tale that is more akin to a destructive musical journey through morbid lyrical themes and passages. There are quite a few references to real life events of the political, conspiracy and paranormal nature, in addition to some comical and/or eerie audio samples thrown in here and there to give off that distinct ’90s death metal vibe. It’s a beyond stellar 20-something minute composition that’s fairly well-structured instrumentally and vocally nostalgic, if a bit familiar. I’d give it an easy recommend to those who are up for a blend of OSDM with some techy, melodic and other newschool vibes similar to stuff like the latest Cryptopsy or the sound of other material that’s a bit more out there like Psycroptic, Skinless, Revocation or hell pretty much any bands remotely alike to those sounds. That being said, I’d be inclined to hear a Volume Three EP or full-length in the hopefully near future. ” – Metal Trenches

“The EP runs as a mix of fast and mid paced parts to present mosh worth tracks for the pit and notable swing your head around in circles anthems such as Nine Eleven, which is probably my favourite track. The last song on the EP ‘Mermaid in a Manhole’ was an excellent close to to Volume Two and was my next favourite song. All in all, it’s ideal for swinging the head around, roaring, and dripping sweat on to the floor.” – Mosh Nerd Republic

“It’s got a European death metal feel to it, and while it’s definitely heavy, it’s centerpiece is a melodic guitar solo. If the rest of the EP, out on November 27th, is anything like the first taste of it, signals Tales of the Tomb as a band we’ll be hearing more – Metal Insider

“Grooves entwine and work their way under the skin like toxic vines, whilst the body of the song strolls with a deceitful calm as much hued in more classic metal essences as it is in death metal voracity.” – RingMaster Review

“Volume One: Morpras stands as a melodic treat fans of cold sounding death metal, melodic or otherwise, will definitely get a kick out of.” – Apochs Metal Review

Every town has stories to caution or warn, every police officer has a seen a crime that keeps them awake at night, and every coroner has seen death in ways that the rest of us could never imagine. Murder, conspiracy, supernatural horror, and real-life terror are stains on the cutting room floor where Edmonton-based group Tales of The Tomb paints their canvas.

Unified by the desire to have the grotesque power of 90’s era death and murder metal, Tales of The Tomb started as a thought that grew into an insatiable need to make extreme music.

Tales Of The Tomb was created in October 2013 from founder Corey Skerlak (Guitar, Vocals) out of inspiration from the original murder metal band Macabre.

Much of their inspiration is drawn from the hideous crimes and conspiracies of the world. Retelling stories of the dark hidden secrets and victims from such crimes. This was the inspiration for the name Tales of The Tomb.

A sonic attack layered with grinding blast beats, injected with menacing guttural lows — a sound straight from hell with gore-filled lyrics leaving little to the imagination, destroying your ear drums like a corpse is erased in an acid-filled bath.

The band has their eyes poised to victimize their audiences anywhere they can reach. Their debut album Volume One: Morpras EP was released November 27, 2015. The concept album centered around murder and heinous crimes was mixed and mastered by Euro-death metal master Dan Swano (ex-Bloodbath, Unisound) and is just the first of many more sonic crimes to come from Tales of The Tomb.

Their next release, slated for September 27, 2019, is a collection of narratives surrounding government cover-ups, national lies and the heinous crimes committed amongst the shadows. Mixed and mastered by Cryptopsy guitar player and Head Engineer/Owner at The Grid Studios Christian Donaldson. The EP also contains a bonus track about the Japanese horror film Mermaid in a Manhole. Featuring artwork by Tony Midi of Tonymidi Artworks.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 9, 2019

BI·AS Feat. Former KORN Drummer DAVID SILVERIA Drop New Music Video ‘Hesitation’ via MetalInsider

Orange County alt-metal outfit BI·AS, featuring David Silveria (original drummer of Korn) shares their latest music video for their next single ‘Hesitation’. The single is a preview to their much-anticipated debut EP due out in 2020. ‘Hesitation’ gives an early taste of what the record will bring to the table. This is the first song that singer Rich Nguyen wrote with the band during their worldwide singer auditions. The song is about anxiety and how it can cause a lot of missed opportunities; if you let it. The song talks about overcoming the barriers created by anxiety in your mind and pressing on no matter what. ‘Hesitation’ is an anthem of overcoming anxiety and is meant to be a musical affirmation.

Rich Nguyen describes ‘Hesitation’:

“This song in terms of sound is the exact middle ground between “Pity” and “Change Your Mind”.  It has tons of melody and a smidge of aggression musically and vocally.  Fans of the other two singles won’t be disappointed.”

Teaming up with MetalInsider.net, the video premiere for ‘Hesitation’ can be viewed at the following link here.

BI·AS made a big splash with their first single, ‘Pity’, which came out in January. The track rapidly reached #23 on the Billboard (BDS) Indicator Chart and #9 on the Foundations (SMR) Chart. They have already reached 85,000 streams on Spotify and another 33,000 on Youtube. Meanwhile, ‘Hesitation’ stands on its own as a hard rock song with touches of metal influence and a driving chorus to bring it all home. The video was directed by Matt Zane of Lord Zane Productions. BI·AS will also be hitting the stage on August 9th at the legendary Whisky A Go-Go as direct support for industrial rock legends ORGY. Event details can be found here along with more dates listed below.

Looking to the future, BI·AS have finished writing their debut EP and follow up effort. They are looking to get into the studio with producer Chris Collier (KXM, Prong, Korn) in Q4 of 2019 to get all tracked. BI·AS have cultivated a growing fanbase enamored with their modern twist to the late nineties Nu-Metal sound. Suffice it to say – the upcoming record promises to be a showcase of the band’s unique sound and willingness to take sonic risks outside of today’s standards.

Be on the lookout for BI·AS in the future, not only is the band gearing up for the 2020 release of their new EP, but they are currently booking shows till the end of the year.

Show Dates:
Aug 9 – West Hollywood, CA – Whiskey A Go-Go – w/ Orgy
Aug 23 – Costa Mesa, CA – Tiki Bar
Sept 26 – Logan, UT – The Cache
Sept 27 – Pocatello, ID –  Bannock County Fair Grounds – Elk stage

BIO:

“Whether we know it or not, we all have our own version of BIAS…” BI·AS is an Alternative Hard Rock / Metal band based out of Huntington Beach, California. The band, featuring drummer David Silveria (Korn), bassist Chris Dorame (Gears, Needlemouth), guitarists Joe Taback (12 Gauge Embrace, Needlemouth) and Mike Martin formed after a worldwide vocalist search lead them to recruit Rich Nguyen (Dimtribe). The band’s diverse musicality is backed by Silveria’s signature groove and neatly wrapped together by captivating vocal melodies.

The debut singles (Pity & Change Your Mind; released January 4, 2019) were met with tremendous fanfare. “Pity”, the edgier track of the two, has helped grow the band’s following exponentially in the United States and abroad. “Change Your Mind”, showcases the band’s softer, melodic side. The two singles were released as a SIDE A / B; a throwback to the 80’s and 90’s single releases.
BI·AS is currently hard at work writing and recording material for their debut release, tentatively slated for the latter half of 2019.

“People aren’t going to expect how good this is… I think a lot of people I know are going to like this.” – Michael Del Pizzo (Sunflower Dead)

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 9, 2019

Finland’s Fantasy Metal EVERFROST Shares Anime Inspired Video ‘Winterider’

“Winterider” Out September 6th via Rockshots Records

Since the release of debut album ‘Blue Eyed Emotion’, Finland’s EVERFROST have been active on the stage and in the studio bringing listeners the follow-up their EP ‘Appetite For Candlelight’ and live DVD ‘A Cold Night Out’. The band is now aiming to raise the bar from what an album experience is traditionally expected to be, with their second full length “Winterider” to be released via Rockshots Records on September 6th, 2019.

Before the album is officially released, the band have put together a new anime-inspired lyric video for the album’s title track, which can be viewed here.

The band adds:

“Winterider launches the listener into the world of Everfrost once again for a new story. A brutal winter that came and never left is disrupting the peace in Everfrost, bringing panic and depressing times to the residents. The main characters fight against the cold and sorrow however in this defiant anthem, trying to enjoy their young adult life in a hidden city no one is allowed to leave from. The song features huge keyboard strings, catchy guitar riffs and an anime-esque chorus, not to forget guitar and keyboard solo dueling and powerful gang cries. The song is a ‘get up and go’ for anyone who needs it in hard times.”

The lyric video follows their music video for their first single ‘Cold Night Remedy’, which can be viewed here.

EVERFROST‘s forthcoming album ‘Winterider’ features 10 songs of winter spiced melodic metal elevated to the extreme this time around! The tracklisting includes the band’s first ballad, their fastest song to date and the first EVERFROST epic, clocking in at over 10 minutes.

The album is a unique undertaking for a metal/rock band, as it combines of a fully coherent manga comic and a conceptual album. The story features characters from their debut album ‘Blue Eyed Emotion’, and takes them on a desperate journey to survive a never-ending winter! This type of album has never been attempted before, and the band is pulling out all the stops to provide you with a truly unique experience in the world of comics and music!

Keyboardist Benji Connelly began the demo-process for ‘Winterider’ in the summer of 2017 following the single release ‘Cold Night Remedy’, which appears on the upcoming sophomore album. By March 2018, most of the songs and story manuscript had been finished, as was mentioned in an interview with Musicalypse after their taped show at The Circus, Helsinki. As of September last year, EVERFROST hit the studio and documented the entire ‘making of’ process for “Winterider”, beginning with promo photoshoots lead by Tuonela Magazine’s Laureline Tilkin. Making of “Winterider” album video here.

“Winterider” will be available in a Digipak Deluxe CD Edition with a 24-page booklet and includes a Manga Comic!
You can PRE ORDER it now at the Rockshots Records Official Store here.

Album trailer can be viewed here.
