What the press is saying:
“Western Canada’s loudest heavy metal festival brings fans to town more known for dinos than drum solos.” – CBC Calgary

“Loud as Hell – one of Canada’s top underground metal festivals – was a metal family reunion. If you walked around the grounds, where tents covered the landscape like flowers, you would experience concert goers laughing, hugging and just enjoying the moment. The music played non-stop and the people were some of the best you’ll meet. What else do you need? If you’re a metalhead fan, mark it down for next year because this is a concert you don’t want to miss.” – Blackfalds Life

“Headbanger alert: Loud As Hell festival to ramp up the volume” – Calgary Herald

“Nevermind the bug spray and sun tan lotion, as August approaches Drumheller residents should stock up on earplugs.” – Calgary Herald

“Loud As Hell returns to the southern Alberta city for its seventh year and as its name implies, will rock the city to its core.” – Calgary Herald

“Loud as Hell has celebrated eight years in the Badlands to date, with acts from all over the world-shattering the peace and quiet of the hills in a camping and music extravaganza.” – Hanna Herald

“Drumheller with its dinosaur bones is the site of the annual Loud as Hell heavy metal festival Friday through Sunday. Dozens of the heaviest bands known to Man will be taking the stage, many of them Canadian” – Gig City

Montreal, QC – October 24, 2022

VIS MYSTICA Presents Jedi-Themed Power Metal EP “Celestial Wisdom” Out December 2022

ft. guests Ty Christian (Lords of the Trident), David Michael Moote (Operus), Jonas Heidgert (Dragonland)

– Produced by Chad Anderson (Helion Prime) –

Vis Mystica comes from the mind of Pennsylvania’s Connor McCray, who is a massive fan of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and its various lore. So far, all of his lyrics have been his retelling of the Dawn of the Jedi comics from Dark Horse Comics. It’s been a long time coming and now he is ready to unleash the debut EP “Celestial Wisdom” upon the galaxy on December 2nd, 2022 via Dark Star Records. The EP is produced by Chad Anderson (Helion Prime) and so far, three singles have been released to tantalize listeners far and wide.

“Whispering Winds Of Fate” ft. Jonas Heidgert (Dragonland) is the intro song and the shortest song on the EP. It serves as a guide to the main world in which the story takes place – Tython. This song describes the sentient world calling out telepathically to beings spread throughout the galaxy to board ships and come bask in the planet’s knowledge and secrets.

“The Plains of Silence” takes us back to Tython to the Silent Desert, where all sound is nullified and students can meditate on the power of the world. This was the first song written for the EP and definitely has a much more “happy” feel than many of the other songs McCray has written.

“Lux Et Veritas” is another kind of “happy” song but the lyrics tell a completely different story. This song is based on the prisoner Daegen Lok, who was exiled for prophesying a coming war between the Rakatans and the people of Tython.

“We are trying to provide fans with escapism from everyday life and transportation into a fantastical world of magical powers and epic stories. We expect the EP to be received very well; while we take great influence from other bands we are quite confident that we possess a style that is somewhat unique in the Power Metal landscape.” the band comments.

Vis Mystica is recommended for Star Wars fans and those who like Rhapsody, Blind Guardian, and Iron Maiden. They also have a crowdfunding campaign set up for the EP.

“Vis Mystica is a very interesting power metal band from Pennsylvania. Listening to this group is like finding an oasis in the middle of the driest desert. Although one of its main characteristics is that its music is based on the Star Wars universe, it is fair to say that its music shines by itself and it is not for less, since its influences are not found in its local scene, not even in its country.” – Metal-Rules.com

“Offering escapism from everyday life, Vis Mystica transports listeners into a fantastical world of magical powers and epic stories with their Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic inspired Power Metal. Along with taking great influence from other bands, they possess a style that is unique and holds its own in the power metal landscape.” – Bloodynews.ro

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – October 21, 2022

Rockshots Records – Out Now! ONELEGMAN New Album “Event Horizon” + New Music Video “Chaos Theory”

Italian proggers ONELEGMAN are proud to share their latest offering, their new album “Event Horizon”, now available as of October 21, 2022, via Rockshots Records.

The third full-length from the trio, “Event Horizon” is ONELEGMAN’s most peculiar release to follow a new concept for each one of its tracks; to create a mosaic with sounds, lyrics, and graphics in order to show to the listener the direction of their journey. The band explains in further detail:

“‘Event Horizon’ is a journey. A journey in the human intimate, sometimes in the unconscious, exploring the universe to the limit of possible knowledge and consciousness. The research for new worlds, the chaos theory, the last days of a star’s life, the direction of time, entropy, the fourth dimension that is gravity, love as an elementary form of existence, existence as a mere force of attraction, and repulsion between electrons, existence as creatures of God or as sons of physics and chemistry. All different shapes of life itself, like the music we composed: from frenzy guitar riffs to electro-rock ambient. Different musical styles that link each other through words and music.”

It is not the band’s intention to translate the works of scientists such as Greene, Rovelli, Bertone, Hawking, Jim Al-Khalili, and Primo Levi into music, but to take inspiration from their treatises, terminologies, and thoughts to build cosmic and quantum images where they search for the true human essence, perhaps where life is born.

For the album’s release day, the band is also sharing their new music video for their track “Chaos Theory”.

The band adds:

“The time has come to show ourselves in all our beauty. We chose to shoot Chaos Theory, the opening track of the album, in an extraordinary location as difficult to reach as its uniqueness. A special place from which a flap of wings is capable of changing the perspective of everything. The Pietra di Bismantova, Bismatova’s Stone. A tribute to our roots and our territory.”

ONELEGMAN is recommended for fans of Devin Townsend, Faith No More, and Alice In Chains.

About:

ONELEGMAN was formed in 2003 in Reggio Emilia, Italy. They introduced themselves to the world with their 2007 self-produced EP. In 2011, they collaborated with Dysfunction Production, an Italian team of producers who worked with Dino Cazares (Fear Factory), Tue Madsen (Meshuggah), Logan Mader (Machine Head) and Dan Korneff (Paramore), Bjorn Strid (Soilwork) among the others to produce their debut album “The Crack”.

In 2015, they released their sophomore full-length “DO YOU REALLY THINK THIS WORLD WAS MADE FOR YOU?”. The record was a more rock-oriented, dynamic, orchestral concept album about people experiencing, living, and interpreting the theme of change through a tragedy that leaves a mark on their lives forever. It was dedicated to those affected by the earthquakes that struck the Emilia-Romagna region in Northern Italy during May 2012.

Supporting their catalogue with tours across Italy and sharing the stage with bands like HATEBREED, WOLFMOTHER, and LACUNA COIL among many others, ONELEGMAN entered the studio in 2019 to create their third album, “Event Horizon” now set for release in 2022.

0 Out Now! Boston Metalcore PISTACIA Get “Edgy” With Debut EP + New Music Video “It Was The Cat”

  • October 21, 2022

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – October 21, 2022

Out Now! Boston Metalcore PISTACIA Get “Edgy” With Debut EP + New Music Video “It Was The Cat”

Pistacia is a young metalcore act hailing from Boston, USA and they are now streaming their debut EP “Edgy”. They have been leading up to this release by releasing a handful of singles, the most recent being the homage to self-harm entitled “It Was The Cat”. They confront serious issues with heavy music and offer the listener empathy through breakdowns and anguished screams. The upcoming EP is about different symptoms/aspects of mental illness and will be relatable to a wide variety of fans. Their sound brings elements from 2007-2010 metalcore and they make music for people who miss that amazing era of music. That being said they make sure to incorporate plenty of modern breakdowns that make you want to mosh. The band comments on the introductory record:

“At our inception, having some sort of overarching principle seemed like an open question, a sun at which we dare not look too long—it seemed daunting. How do we make our disparate agents, these myriad tastes and backgrounds, and ideas and emotions thrive, and not simply collide? What was once a threat is a challenge we’ve willingly accepted; let’s redefine rock in our image—in one word if you will—edgy. We stitch together the jagged edges of unwanted puzzle pieces left discarded in the bin; our collage knows no two parts that its whole won’t embrace graciously…the red and black, the fusion, funk and slam, the upbeat harmonic ecstasy of a chorus and the atonal cataclysm that preceded it and often follows menacingly.”

Pistacia hopes that others find order in the chaos, healing in the vulnerability of morose, panicked, and earnest lyrics, and most of all meaning in the pathos. They got together due to a shared love of pushing boundaries, questioning norms, and disrespecting authority, and hopefully, it yields as potent a catharsis to listeners as it does to them.

Their goal is to have people who can relate to the lyrics feel seen. Each track on “Edgy” is about mental illness whether it be a symptom of a straight-up diagnosis. They make music for people who are scared and voiceless. Pistascia is recommended for anyone who enjoyed the heyday of the emo times, especially those with an interest in Bring Me the Horizon, Motionless in White, and Kittie.

“Edgy” is out on October 21, 2022, and available on Spotify, Apple Music, Pistacia.bandcamp.com.

About: In late 2019, Vic Gregg founded Gen-Z, an emo-throwback metalcore outfit. Members Ron Bernhaut, Theo Chaouat, Ben Sonsire-Cummings, and Thomson Estabrook complete the aesthetic onslaught that comprises Pistacia’s live show—in the scene’s dearth of energetic performance, the band found their niche, bringing blistering riffs to tight compact venues with pure animus and palpable vitriol. They have a nostalgia-borne affinity for all things emo and maintain a reckless proclivity for gothic imagery and provocative allure. With a marriage between heavy breakdowns, catchy choruses, and pathos-driven lyrics, Pistacia is that edgy, rebellious act you’ve been craving.

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN Issue New Single/Music Video for “Perfect Person”

4th new song offered from the Power/Progressive Metal band’s upcoming new album

As Power/Progressive Metal band IMMORTAL GUARDIAN continues building their next opus, the group issues “Perfect Person” as the fourth sample of their new work. Recording independently and remotely the quartet is assembling the follow-up to 2021’s successful ‘Psychosomatic’ track-by-track and sharing the material as it completes, along with visually captivating music videos, that again the self-contained group produces themselves.

“Perfect Person” is available now for streaming/download at all digital platforms or watch the video at https://youtu.be/MRTrNHlC90A

“I grew up in a very religious Mexican family. It was a big part of our lives, especially every Sunday morning when we went to church,” explains guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian. “But one day, our pastor had a heart attack while in the middle of a sexual act cheating on his wife and died right there in the church after-hours. It was absolutely bonkers and I remember it really stirred up the moral point-of-views in our tiny Texas town.We stopped going to church after that and really started questioning why we were there, to begin with. You see, some Christians had such a bad taste of the church that they left religion altogether and felt lied to and deceived, while others said the Christian thing to do would be to forgive him and move on and find another church. It was super interesting to grow up and watch both sides of this play out. This made a very interesting topic to write about and it definitely fueled the spark for ‘Perfect Person.’

At the end of the day, it is about NOT over-idolizing and over-glorifying religious figures, politicians, celebrities, even musicians, and the like. I wonder if that pastor had just lived his life and died a non-religious man, nobody would have been bothered, but because everyone sought this man’s advice every week, got baptized by him, got married by him, and put his words and lifestyle on a pedestal, it made it that much more devastating. Everyone can pin a local ‘icon’ in their minds as a perfect figure that could do no wrong and preach endless golden words when in fact, he is just a mortal man with mortal sin.”

Heavy topics are not unfamiliar to Immortal Guardian whose previous album focused on the Covid pandemic, likely the first full album to be thematically linked to the disease and its effect on the globe and its people. In the past year, Immortal Guardian has revealed three brand new songs — “Ozona,” “Echoes” and “Southern Rain” forming a basis for their next conceptual piece. The band will continue to share new material as the creative process proceeds to build up to a follow-up full-length traditional album planned for 2023. More info will be released by Immortal Guardian and M-Theory Audio in the weeks and months to follow, including new tour dates. https://www.facebook.com/igmetal/.

“A mega-catchy prog-power anthem (Read Between The Lines) mixed with a blend of crushing performances that’ll leave you salivating for more.” – Metal Injection

“Immortal Guardian are a band that are so technically proficient that it’s infuriating. Gabriel Guardian is, as usual, the star of Psychosomatic with his self-dueling guitar/keyboard work, but the shiny new rhythm section is right there with him. The album covers a lot of ground. It’s power metal at it’s core but some moments sound very Dethklok, while others have a bit of a Latin flare, and you’re also getting classical influences.” – Metal Injection

“Psychosomatic, an album that will likely be viewed as one of 2021’s best releases, and a landmark record for Immortal Guardian. ” – Metal Nation

““Psychosomatic” is a super catchy (Prog) Power Metal album” – Metalheads Forever Magazine

“With this album (Psychosomatic) Immortal Guardian should no longer be seen as a promising band. Not only have they shown that they have an enormous compositional quality and an elite technical level, they have also shown that they are a band that faces difficulties and that they have all the will to continue. Making a high-quality second album two years after their dazzling debut tells us about the enormous inner power these musicians have.” – Metal Rules

““QUARAN-TAAAAAYN!” No matter what you think about Immortal Guardian, it’s refreshing to hear a band that plays their style while confronting modern life. Though there’s a lot of big, epic, technical stuff going on on Psychosomatic, it never devolves into a lot of bullshit about chivalry and orcs. As such, they feel poised to be the inheritors of Nevermore’s throne, a gritty power metal band who feel relevant even as they soar. Get this in your brain.” – The Pit

“If you enjoyed Age of Revolution, you are bound to be thrilled by Psychosomatic. The band continues to up their game with technical thrills, but grounds it in some darker and personal songwriting that gives it a slight edge over their previous material. An easy pick-up for those in the power/prog section.” – Dead Rhetoric

MetalInsider Presents Iron Kingdom’s Seductive New Single “Queen Of The Crystal Throne”

New Album “The Blood Of Creation” Out November 4th

Canada’s Iron Kingdom are purveyors of traditional heavy metal bringing forth epic tales set to equally epic music. A throwback to the 80s when metal was loud and shocking, they blast listeners in the face with thunderous drums, walls of riffs, and well-woven fantasy tales told with soaring vocals. They have a fifth album on the way “The Blood Of Creation”, which takes their entire evolution through hard rock, progressive metal, and finally classic Metal and combines it into one impressive package. The second single is “Queen Of The Crystal Throne”, which the band explains in their own words:

“This powerful mid-tempo banger was written about a dark seductress: cold, aloof, and dangerous, you show interest at your own peril. We wanted a straight rocker tune, and that’s exactly what we did here with ‘Queen Of The Crystal Throne’, with hints of early Queensrÿche or Accept, the riffs have some balls, but they also keep a cool pace, it’s really just a super fun tune.”

Iron Kingdom’s M.O. is to take people away into some unique fantastic worlds they may or may not have experienced, but this album is also quite dark and it’s meant to be that way. Coming out of a pandemic brings some darker emotions some people may have never experienced previously, which they think this album may parallel. Ultimately they want people to get the chance to escape this world for a time and find solace in the music.

They usually get a lot of their ideas from fantasy but they also like topics around history or religion and other topics to just make people think. They like things to have a deeper meaning than meets the eye. “The Blood Of Creation” is not a concept album, but it does have a trilogy about the creation myth from the ancient Mesopotamians. Telling the tale of Tiamat and Marduk and the creation of the heavens, the earth, and mankind. This story is known as being one of the oldest, if not the oldest known story from mankind.

“Queen Of The Crystal Throne” is one of many immersive and powerful tracks on the album and is recommended for fans of Judas Priest, Queensrÿche, and Riot.

Watch and listen to “Queen Of The Crystal Throne” via its music video premiere on MetalInsider HERE.

The album “The Blood Of Creation” will be released on November 4, 2022.

About: Inspired by legendary pillars of heavy metal such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, The Scorpions, and Rush, this four-piece is well known for their energetic and electrifying stage presence, as well as intricate musical melodies that bring listeners back to a time when heavy metal was in its prime.

Formed in Surrey, B.C. Canada, in June of 2011, the band’s core members were Chris Osterman on guitar and vocals, bassist Leighton Holmes, and drummer Amanda Osterman, joined by Jordan Wright on guitar. This quickly changed, after recording their debut album ‘Curse Of The Voodoo Queen’ Jordan was replaced by guitarist Kenny Kroecher. ‘Curse Of The Voodoo Queen’ was released on Dec 14, 2011, and the band took the opportunity to tour western Canada, along with an appearance on the TV Show, Canada’s Got Talent.

With the debut album receiving little attention, the group decided it was time to record a new album, and by April 26, 2013, ‘Gates Of Eternity’ was released. Garnering some strong reviews coming in around the world, attention was growing, and the band was invited to perform at Germany’s Keep It True XVII festival. This opened up many new avenues for the act to pursue, including some serious time on the road through Canada in 2013, and Europe in 2014, followed by a tour in the USA with California’s Night Demon. The band had created some major momentum and Iron Kingdom was spreading their moniker far and wide in support of the first two releases.

On July 30, 2015, Iron Kingdom released not one, but two more albums, ‘Ride For Glory’ their 3rd full-length album, as well as ‘Unleashed at the Kraken (Live in Seattle)’ an exclusive live E.P. recorded on a previous tour. The band set out on the road again in support of the two new releases. The tour was unfortunately riddled with many trials, including a vehicle accident that almost killed the band members. Following the tour, Amanda decided to step back from the band to pursue other commitments. Joey Paul then took her place behind the kit.

Life on the road continued, including a massive North American tour in 2016, as well as a tour in Brazil in a supporting slot for former frontman of Iron Maiden, Blaze Bayley. After many performances, guitarist Kenny and drummer Joey departed, thus leaving the door open for Chris Sonea, and Megan Merrick, on drums and guitar respectively.

It took four years for the follow-up album after ‘Ride For Glory’, but finally on Oct 4, 2019, ‘On The Hunt’ was released. This was the fourth full-length release from this traditional metal act. Iron Kingdom toured ‘On The Hunt’ immediately with an extensive North American tour in the fall of 2019, and shortly after, toured Europe in March of 2020. Thankfully the band was able to perform the majority of their European dates, but unfortunately, COVID-19 took its toll and their final performance was canceled. At the return of the tour, drummer Chris Sonea decided to depart from the group, and the band (now consisting of band members, Leighton Holmes, Chris Osterman, and Megan Merrick) began auditions to fill the void on the drums.

In the Spring of 2020, Max Friesen joined the band, taking his seat behind the kit, and once again, Iron Kingdom stands ready to take the world by storm and aid in the revival of the mighty and classic sounds of Traditional Heavy Metal. Their new album “The Blood of Creation” is scheduled to be released in Fall 2022.

#5 (On The Hunt) Canadian National Loud Chart – For the Week Ending: Tuesday, November 12, 2019 (earshot)

“a glorious gallop of foot on the monitor, traditional heavy metal that will have NWOBHM fans drooling. 9/10” – Metal Gods TV

“It’s a pleasure when you have the chance to listening to bands such as IRON KINGDOM, true defenders of best tradition of our loved music. 88/100” – Hard Rock Heavy Metal

“One of Western Canada’s finest exports is traditional heavy metal band Iron Kingdom… another solid effort proving why Canada is by far the best country for modern traditional heavy metal!” – Skull Fracturing Metal

“With On The Hunt, you can expect Iron Kingdom’s traditional heavy metal. They make no apologies for invoking legends like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, et al, for metal inspiration. Not dismissing the excellent rhythm section, but with the twin guitar attack of Osterman and Merrick, you’ll find all the songs within On The Hunt quite guitar-forward… Essentially, with this album, Iron Kingdom remains true to their metal style. 4/5” – DangerDog Music Reviews

“Of the hundreds of heavy metal bands that have “Iron” in their name, not very many of them are deserving of it. Iron Maiden? Obviously. Iron Savior? Yup. Iron Fire? Definitely. Of course, Iron Kingdom are undoubtedly deserving of the mark, because the metal they’ve forged is strong, heavy, and true. 9/10” – Power Thorn

“Holy Shit! Have you heard Iron Kingdom’s On the Hunt? If you haven’t you are missing out on one of the coolest album’s of 2019.” – 10/10 Keeper Magazine

Alienatör is a sludge metal band from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada that combines punk, hardcore, and noise rock elements into a stripped-down package, full of razor-sharp riffs and memorable hooks. They are gearing up to release their second album “Regrets” this fall and it is chock full of dark themes, ferocious intensity, and raw emotion. The first single off the album is “Blood Red Blood”, which vocalist/guitarist Brad King outlines:

“This one is a real barn burner and one of our first collaborative songwriting efforts. I showed up with the opening riff, which has an odd time signature, that we counted as 9/8 or something wacky. Sean wrote the rest of the music around it. I like the breakdown in the middle a lot, where we trade vocal lines back and forth. It’s a fun one to play live. The lyrics are about the cycle of violence and toxic masculinity. Basically how hurt people hurt people and how what we do to others eventually gets paid back to us in the end. Blood in, blood out.”

Listen to “Blood Red Blood” via its premiere on Bravewords HERE.

Alienatör’s previous album was written as a two-piece, but for this new offering, the band consists of vocalist/guitarist Brad King, bassist/vocalist Sean Skillen and Simon Paquette on drums, which has taken their songwriting to the next level. They still have some blistering fast punk-influenced tunes, but they’re branching out and showing their creative depth on songs like “The Priest”, “Irreconcilable” and “Dark Matters”. They delve into gritty topics such as alienation, grief, pain, and disgust at the state of the modern world. Composed during the claustrophobia of the 2020 election and the global pandemic the album channels more rage than its predecessor.

Alienatör started out cobbling bits of different heavy styles together, juxtaposing very fast, thrashy material with slower doomy influences and weird experimentation. Over time, they have forged their own sound which carries a lot of the energy of punk and post-hardcore, with a heavy, abrasive edge and introspective or socially conscious lyrics. They are recommended for fans of Unsane, Melvins, and Neurosis.

About: Hailing from Thunder Bay, ON, Canada, Alienatör is a sludge metal band that combines punk, hardcore, and noise rock elements into a stripped-down package, full of razor-sharp riffs and memorable hooks.

Their debut album, “Pariahs,” released in 2109 moves from fast and aggressive to slow and swampy with touches of experimental weirdness. Many of the lyrics are about how we numb ourselves to the pain and disappointment of everyday life.

Fast forward to 2022, and the band is ready to unleash their follow-up, entitled “Regrets,” which introduces new drummer Simon Paquette to the fold. The album is bleak and abrasive, with moments of calm, melody, and beauty to juxtapose against the ugliness. Raw, uncompromising, and dark, it is emotionally heavy music that reflects a chaotic time in history.

“Noisy post-hardcore sludge, full of energy and rage… a genuine ass-kicker of a record.” – Decibel

“This band is burly, grimy, and the sonic manifestation of discontent. If it’s motivational music you seek, back away slowly. Alienatör ply their trade in the margins of metal, with elements of sludge, noise rock, hardcore, heavy metal, and crust punk. Listeners of Pariahs, the band’s debut full-length, will hear shades of Unsane, Red Fang, Cursed, Kvelertak, Acid Bath, and Cancer Bats, among other guitar-heavy acts by whom sophistication and polish are eschewed.” – Lambgoat

“Pariahs shows Alienatör firing all of their creative cylinders and marks a multifaceted, all-consuming sludge opera delivered with convincing force and accents.” – Idioteq

“Gritty, high-octane sludge…” – Metal Trenches

“From beginning to end Alienatör offers up a truly murky, chunky yet noise filled sound that tears at your ear drums, but in the best possible way. Each track is a madhouse of artery stopping, head banging sludge and noise rock that you cannot simply turn away from.” – Cadaver Garden

“Alienator are miserable and they’d like you to join them.” – Lambgoat

“This was one of my anticipated albums this year as the EP wet my whistle but was far from being enough to satisfy my metal hunger. Hopefully this is not a one off because this is one of the most unique projects to come across my radar in a long time. I’m curious to see where Mr. Waye takes this project next. We shall see. In the meantime…get this album, you’ll thank me for it!” – Metal-Rules

“The highlight of the opening trio is the rampaging “Odyssey (Blessed By Steel)” which finds Marlee Ryley of Hyperia in fine form. Waye is on the rampage with a collection of frenetic riffs and the result is an adrenaline rush of a song that really gets things going. “A Time of War” then finds Triskelyon in Megadeth territory minus the trademark snarl of Dave Mustaine for what can only be described as a classic Thrash anthem… All in all, there is plenty to enjoy here, especially if you’re a lover of the mighty riff ” – Metal Noise

“Thrash Metal with melody, good arrangements and multiple voices.” – PowerMetal.de

“Power-Thrash equipped with murderous riffs on a technically first-class level with changeable exciting vocal variability, at times also surrounded by a dark atmosphere.” – FFM-Rock

“Most of the songs on here are fast and furious, such as “Balance of Terror” with its Hanneman/King-esque riffing, the skull-piercing “Odyssey (Blessed by Steel)” and the powerful “A Time of War,” though they do slow down a bit on the moody march of “Find a Way” while still remaining heavy as all hell… Triskelyon don’t reinvent the wheel of Power/Thrash, but they sure know how to keep it spinning, and that makes Downfall worth giving a spin of its own.” – The Metal Crypt

==========================================================

“The three songs have the rage, heaviness and some rawness you expect from thrash, but also the melody and speed you’ll find in the more aggressive and harsher forms of power metal (no flowery stuff here, people). Pete’s vocals definitely are more of the aggressive heavy/power metal variety while Marlee shakes the hell out of the speakers with a more aggressive and harsher, yet high-pitched style.” – The Metal Crypt (2022 – Self-Titled EP)

“This is the kind of band that really plays that pure, raw, seething thrash metal that I love.” – Wings of Death (2022 – Self-Titled EP)

“Classic heavy thrash, catchy quick stuff with big screamy vox! Great stuff!” – WORT 89.9FM – Mosh Pit Radio – Madison, WI (2022 – Self-Titled EP)

“The EP thunders around the listener’s ears with a massive, powerful sound and gripping guitar riffs, but is also arranged with great attention to detail. Geoff Waye also acts as lead guitarist in the melodic as well as brute playing with pinpoint accuracy… Thrash fans who expect more than just head banging should remember the name TRISKELYON.” – PowerMetal.de (2022 – Self-Titled EP)

“What does Melodic Thrash sound like? Well in the eyes (and ears) of Geoff Waye it sounds like Thrash with influences of Traditional Metal, so you have plenty of heavy chugging Thrash riffs, separated by Traditional Metal bridges and big choruses. Opening cut “Hunger” sounds like a classic Anthrax cut from the “Spreading The Disease” era, with Iron Maiden influences all over it and Pete Healey’s higher pitched vocals only enhancing that nostalgic feel.” – Metal Noise (2022 – Self-Titled EP)

Canadian melodic power thrashers Triskelyon released their debut album “Downfall” on October 28th, 2022 via Washington state-based extreme metal label Moribund Records.

Founded by Geoff Waye, guitarist for Artach and Category VI, Triskelyon was conceived in late 2021 as a studio-only project. By January 2022, the band featuring contributions from vocalists Pete Healey and Marlee Ryley (Hyperia), along with drum programming by Raul Marques (Burning Torment) made their introduction to the metal world with a 3-track self-titled EP.

Composed and written mostly by Geoff Waye, with drum programming provided by Raul Marques, “Downfall” sees the band’s next evolution as their first full length and it utilizes a myriad of both male and female guest vocalists from Oberon, Hyperia, Catagory VI and Incidium. “Downfall” has a range and depth of sound unique in today’s modern thrash metal scene, setting the band ahead and apart from the hordes of young new acts. Triskelyon also features guest bass appearances from members of Afterforever and Category VI, making Triskelyon a veritable supergroup of the Canadian metal scene.

Depicting a nature taking over post-apocalyptic view of our ever-screwed-up world, Triskelyon keeps with 80’s thrash tradition employing world-ending yet self-empowering socially conscious lyrical themes. From straight-up 80’s thrashers like “Odyssey (Blessed by Steel)”, to the power metal laced “Find A Way”, and more anthemic thrash tracks such as “Hunger” and “Willful Ignorance”, “Downfall” is sure to satiate even the most discriminating old-school and modern thrash metal fan alike! The album even features a unique and thrashing rendition of the Billy Idol song “Nobody’s Business”.

Album was mixed/mastered by Michael Small with the post-apocalyptic cover art by IvaanMR11.

With “Downfall”, Triskelyon delivers an amazing headbanging album that harkens back to the old-school days of such luminaries as Forbidden, Agent Steel, Sentinel Beast, Détente, Overkill, and Testament.

Montreal, QC – October 20, 2022

Rockshots Records – HIGHWAY QUEEN Shares Music Video For Title Track Off New Album “Bitter Soul” Out December 2022

New Album “Bitter Soul” Out December 16th

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of Finnish rockers Highway Queen for their debut full-length “Bitter Soul”, a collection of rock and metal songs with beautiful melodies, strong riffs with heavy drums and bass. Each song shows the listener the stylistic versatility of the band.

The album is due out on December 16th and follows their 2021 singles “Walls Are Burned”, “You Better Run” and “Hellfire” released via Inverse Records.

Songs on “Bitter Soul” are all about scenarios in one’s life. The lyrics tell stories about gnawing the burden of shame, anger, and bitterness. They also talk about the burden that carries through generations. They are about people’s weaknesses too. The stories are also about overcoming these challenges.

“From our first self-releases and singles with Inverse Records to this album, our sound is definitely going from a lighter to heavier direction. Every song has its own mood so feeling vary throughout the album. There are parts in the album with bluesy vibes to parts that have strong doom or even thrash vibes. It all blends together with a touch of 80’s style. Every song on the record has its own mood.” adds the band.

Today, the band presents their first single and album title track with a music video, which can be viewed at:

YOUTUBE – https://youtu.be/g1Xe-jmiMSQ

SPOTIFY – https://bfan.link/bitter-soul-1

The band explains the song in further detail:

“We wanted to compose a very simple and blues-like song. We tossed around ideas and played and played until we got verse and chorus ready. Still, we weren’t pleased with the chorus. We had a session with the producer and we introduced the song to him. He also thought that it wasn’t ready yet. So we played the song and tried to think out of the box and the chorus came out. The guitar has a gloomy riff to give the song a darker shade. The bass came out to be strong together with simple and tight drums still giving some spice on its own. Bitter Soul tells about a woman who has lost her loved ones. Her soul has died. She regrets and mourns but she doesn’t know how she can change the things she has done.”

Highway Queen is a band that plays melodic hard rock with some metal influences. The band was founded at the end of 2019 by vocalist Virpi Kääriäinen, guitarist Teemu, Kääriäinen and drummer Henri Backman. All members have played in cover band projects in the past and decided it was time to start making their own creations.

In 2020, the band self-released four singles on digital platforms. Also in 2020, the band acquired bassist Petri Orava and they recorded more songs to be released. In 2021, the band signed with Finnish record label Inverse Records for releasing three singles and a music video. The songs had a great reception, and the band continued moving forward to start working on their first album. All Highway Queen songs are recorded with Aleksanteri Kuosa, so he was a natural choice to be the producer for the full-length. He has also worked with bands like Waltari and Before The Dawn.

Highway Queen is recommended for fans of melodic hard rock, heavy rock, and NWOTHM.

Rockshots Records – Get Ready To Soar “Higher” w/ 17 Crash’s New Music Video

Fourth Studio Album “Stamina” Out November 2022

Get ready to soar “Higher” with Italian rockers 17 Crash and their new music video for their second single from their fourth studio album “Stamina” due out on November 18th via Rockshots Records.

The opening album track “Higher” is a punch in the stomach. The band continues to explain the song:

“We wanted to start on fire, getting in your ears like a Tornado. Our comeback after two terrible years is finally here, so it must be fast, heavy, and loud. This song speaks about our need to reach our life goals, focusing on what we love to do and trying to leave all the negative things behind. It’s a primal scream, a jump to reach the highest top. We all know how hard is to reach the top and remain free.”

Watch and listen to the music video for “Higher” at https://youtu.be/ILUOrqJQ3T4

17 Crash‘s new record “Stamina” is a much more complex and profound piece of work written entirely during the endless lockdowns from the 2020 pandemic that the world experienced. Their passion for the 80’s glam / hard n’ heavy rock n’ roll crossed with a particular duality between human struggle and the will to fight and resist against all the odds. It might seem that 17 Crash has come a long way, but rest assured they are just warming up for what’s to come.

Colliding their emotions, fears, and wishes, mixing up everything they got inside, and talking about their experiences and how they changed over these past testing years, 17 Crash explains their album in further detail.

“People should listen to this album very carefully, trying to catch the real spirit of it. Words have a very important message in this one, considering the times we are living in and what happened in 2020. The singles show what we are and what we want to say after these two terrible years. It’s like a concept about this crazy modern era and all the effects it brought to us. This record, it’s a box with all the emotions and the feeling we had during the composing process. We are talking about being us at 100% and our fans know that we always speak just about the truth. On this album, we shared everything we wanted to. No secrets, just feelings.” adds the band.

Recommended for fans of H.E.A.T, Crazy Lixx, Eclipse, Hardline, and Stryper, “Stamina” is available for pre-order at the following link – https://bit.ly/17Crash_Stamina

About:
Driven by the passion of drummer Phil Hill and singer Ros Crash, 17 Crash began their crazy journey back in 2011.

At an earlier stage of their career, 17 Crash was a true and vibrant synonym of vintage 80s LA Glam Rock Style: big hair, leather pants, and loud guitars. Distinctive attire and growling sound finally merged into the debut album “Reading Your Dirty Minds” (2015). Right after their first release, the band toured extensively throughout the Italian peninsula while making sure the name of the band was being heard.

Evolving and exploring new sounds, it didn’t take that long until they found what they were looking for with the release of the second studio album “Hit The Prey” (2018). Finding the right balance between the 80s sound and modern AOR, the new record marked a significant turning point both in terms of musicianship and career approach.

Another two years of touring passed until a further stage of evolution with their third album “Through Hell And Back” (2020) reconfirming previous collaboration with long-esteemed colleagues Alessio Lucatti in production and Simone Mularoni for mixing and mastering. The third chapter written by 17 Crash featured groovy heavy riffs, polished sounds, and even sharper tunes, effectively establishing the band as a true landmark not only within national borders, but in the international hard & heavy landscape as well.

Now in 2022, they will present their fourth album “Stamina” on Rockshots Records on November 18th.
