The Random Humans Release New Single ft. Sunspot Jonz (The Living Legends)
Set to release their debut LP, “Over Your Head,” later this Fall 2010. The Random Humans are giving fans a sneak peak of what’s to come by unleashing their first single, “Where Did You Come From” ft. Sunspot Jonz of The Living Legends.
“It was really great to work with a rapper like Sunspot Jonz for this single, his verses are just incredible. We first met him while touring with The Living Legends last April on their West coast Canadian tour. After hanging with him for those few weeks on the road it just seemed meant to be.” comments RH’s Deception.
Showcasing a lifetime of musical influences and styles, “Over Your Head” is sure to shake up things up in Canadian hip-hop and beyond. The Vancouver hip-hop duo, comprised of Deception, a lyrical master in his own right, and beatsmith Bear, look forward to unveiling their debut full-length, comprised of fresh and unique collaborations including Vancouver’s scratch master D-Rec (POS Crew), guitarist and bassist duo Jason Morley and Jim Bennett who have been performing together for over the last decade, and were both brought forward by “Over Your Head” producer Rob Shallcross, a Juno Award winning engineer.
Morley has played guitar for the past twenty-two years, getting involved with everything from classical to extreme music, working with musical legends such as Gene Hoglan, Virgil Donati (Planet X, Steve Vai). Bennett, who’s played bass for most of his life, also came from a distinct background; one mostly filled with jazz has lead a prosperous career that has even seen him perform a special guest duet with bass legend Victor Wooten.

0 October Sky All Grown Up! Launch Third Release – Sept 21 – Petit Cafe Campus
Montreal cinematic rockers October Sky are all grown up and bringing their new, more matured sound to Petit Cafe Campus (57 Prince Arthur E.) on September 21st to celebrate the completion of their new 5 song EP. Produced by Brian Moncarz (Moneeen, The Junction, Silverstein), the EP is the band’s third release since 2006, and the follow-up to their highly celebrated 2008 album, “Hell Isn’t My Home”.
Over the years, October Sky’s diverse and rich musical talents have allowed them to deliver performances of spectacular mood and energy.
“When we perform, the crowd is like our canvas and we like to set the mood and tone for them. We want them to feel great and hear our creations, and interpret them as their own,” says vocalist/guitarist Karl Raymond.
These qualities have led October Sky, not only to be recognized on their local, Canadian music scene, but also towards opportunities of seizing an international crown. In April 2010, the band performed in London, England, representing Canada in the finals of the Global Battle of the Bands. And with that international showcase, the band began to solidify demand overseas, which may result in another Canadian act soon breaking out onto the world stage.
