As creators of the horrorbilly genre, The Matadors have been wreaking havoc across Canada since the mid-90s, delivering a live show they describe is “like being in a funhouse that has been set on fire” and who could possibly complain about that?
“Since this is our last year on earth we urge everyone to bring a helmet to the shows of 2012 due to the fact that each venue will be left in a bloody mess once we blow your fucking minds,” says frontman The Great Hooch. And considering June 16 will also be the birthday celebration of The Turbo A.C.’s Jer von Duck, things are sure to get real messy, real quick.
Delivering a music-filled night that will put all others to shame for the rest of eternity, or at least till the end of this year when the world will finally implode, this is one show you don’t want to be crazy enough to miss.

MY OWN CHAOS Announce ‘Chaos Across Canada Tour’
Vancouver’s MY OWN CHAOS, a female fronted metal band that fused traditional metal with thrash and straight ahead hard rock are proud to announce dates for their upcoming “CHAOS ACROSS CANADA TOUR” , which will see them venture across the Canadian provinces, kicking off their tour in Vancouver, BC on June 26th and going east to return west on July 28th for a tour wrap up show in Innisfail, AB.
The band will be touring on their well-received debut “MY OWN CHAOS”, a concept album that has charted in the top 10 Loud College Radio Chartsacross the country. The album features a who’s who of guest stars like Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys/Lard), Joey Keithley (DOA), Ani Kyd (Alternative Tentacles Recording Artist Fuel Injected.45), Steve Jack (Rockhead) andBrian Langley (Infernal Majesty).
“The My Own Chaos album was written about my divorce and the emotional rollercoaster that goes along with it. At times I was questioning my sanity and doing all that I could to hold everything together. I really dove deep into my emotions and let all the issues out. This album is my therapy” commented My Own Chaos vocalist Connie Chaos (who also fronts the tribute bands Sister Sabbath and Zeppelina).
Over the last year in promotion of their first release, the band has completed several Western Canada tours and is lined up to share the stage with Powerman 5000 in September 2012.

Melodic Anthem Metallers ODIUM Announce Ontario Show Dates
Walkerton, ON melodic metallers ODIUM whom released their latest album ‘Burning The Bridges To Nowhere’ on Year of The Sun Records earlier this April, have announced upcoming show dates in the province of Ontario in promotion of their 10 track anthem chanter, which is the follow up to their well received debut full length ‘At The Bottom’.
Founded in 2006 by drummer Joe Mullen and vocalist Tom Emmans, ODIUM was born in order to create a focused project centered on the themes of growth and attrition. After being joined by bassist Dale Burrows and guitarists Bo Louther and Andrew Fullerton, it was clear the band was quickly becoming a cohesive group of musicians that had found their strengths in each other’s abilities to contribute to the writing process.
Most convincing is ODIUM’s arsenal of musical weapons that contribute to their overall sound, which was properly harnessed by Canadian producer Greg Dawson(The End, Moneen, Choke) on both of ODIUM‘s metal opus’ underlining the quintet’s penchant for writing metal songs that are as heartfelt as they are heavy withODIUM’s emotional hybrid of epic crescendos and fiery heaviness.
Over the years, ODIUM has opened for such well known bands as Alexisonfire, The Agonist, Beneath the Massacre, Divinity, Moneen, Fuck the Facts, Fairwell to Freeway and Arise and Ruin.

Stone Iris Are James Brown Proud! Announce “Illumi-Nations’ Tour
If James Brown had love children and they made a super cool blues, soul, rock, and reggae inspired collective, it definitely be Edmonton, AB based Stone Iris.
With their latest EP ‘Illuminations’, (their seventh in four years) on May 15th on Kamelcorn Records. The band is gearing up for their next tour in promotion of the EP after just completing their latest Western Canadian tour. Perfectly titled the ‘Illumi-Nations’ tour, Stone Iris will trek across the USA from the west coast of Seattle to the south of Texas to the blue grasses of Kentucky and the Midwest.
Like a lost night in a smoky bar, Stone Iris‘ songs feel easy to slip into and even easier to get lost in, using laid-back but propulsive grooves to create a mood that feels at once nostalgic and promising, familiar enough to get your guard down but restless enough to let you know that the best times are on their way. Stone Iris and their new EP builds off their previous releases, 2011 twin-EPs The Boo Box and Serene Machine, the 2010 Silhouettes EP and 2008 debut Ezperanza, by revealing a band that is at once more assured and more expansive than it’s ever been.

Recorded with Stew Kirkwood at Sound Extractor Studio, Illuminations capturesStone Iris as they’re starting to truly come into their own. It all began as Monzmeg, a basement project in the Calgary home of brothers, songwriters and guitarists Garret and El Niven. Stone Iris didn’t fully begin to take shape until they recruited drummer Jeff Burwash, who had been banging the skins with blues outfit Straight Jacket before he was even legally allowed in bars. It was the move to Edmonton to attend Grant MacEwan’s music program that solidified the group, though, first with the addition of Regina-born and Grant Mac-trained bassist Ryan Ast (ex-Without an End), and then adding Trail, BC-bred percussionist Juice Jensen in early 2010. in 2011, keyboard player Stephen Robinson and vocalist Kari James joined the ranks of the band, completing what is the current roster of Stone Iris.
Blending their disparate musical backgrounds–everything from hooky pop music to sun bleached reggae to hip-hop and rap–the influence of seven minds has created a mature sound that isn’t easy to pin down, but is very easy to love.
