EP Trailer

“Project Mars has just returned from our first cross Canada tour with Toronto rockers Riding Shotgun. It was a great success; we gained many new fans and created a buzz across this great country of ours. Going on tour was everything we expected and much more, thanks to everyone, clubs, fans, and all you great people we met along the way. This much anticipated release will be just the begining for Project Mars and we look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming shows to share our new material and rock out.” says guitarist Jason Connolly. “Project Mars will also be releasing our first music video in support of our EP, so mark down October 2nd in your calendar and come pick up your own copy of Don’t Hold Back! Keep on rocking!”

The title track is an ode to the band’s former bassist who left to join the Canadian army, the record deals with everything from war and politics to more personal struggles. Packed with in-your-face rock and tons of attitude from track to track, Don’t Hold Back’s first mission is to kick listeners’ asses and its second is to help raise awareness and funds for multiple sclerosis research, following a recent diagnosis that hit close to home.

About:

Hailing from Ottawa, ON, alt rockers Project Mars are back with a vengeance to unleash their most powerful material to date into the musical landscape while simultaneously lending their talents to help a worthy cause.

What began as some plain good ol’ banter on the job between three coworkers at a restaurant, soon became prog rock band Sound Addiction, morphed into a power trio and eventually evolved into alt rock band Project Mars.

After purchasing all the necessary gear to record a debut album, tackling the learning curve that followed and playing a number of successful shows, a mix of unforeseen factors led to the dissolution of Project Mars a year later. But not too long after that is when, in 2010, a reunion between high school friends Jason Connolly (Guitars/Vocals) and Ron Henry (Vocals/Guitars) resulted in the beginning of the resurrection of Project Mars.

Now, Project Mars is gearing up to release its debut full-length album, Don’t Hold Back, in October 2012. With the title track an ode to the band’s former bassist who left to join the army, the record deals with everything from war and politics to more personal struggles.

Packed with in-your-face rock and tons of attitude from track to track, Don’t Hold Back’s first mission is to kick listeners’ asses and its second is to help raise awareness and funds for multiple sclerosis research, following a recent diagnosis that hit close to home.

BIO

Born from the creative mind of rhythm guitarist David Paquette, Mortor began as a solo project that soon turned into a full-fledged band following Paquette’s move from Montreal to Ottawa.

Founded in 2008, Mortor began sculpting and fine-tuning their metal sound while writing and playing live shows with one goal in mind: to bombard the world of extreme metal with their fresh, raw sound.

Heading into the studio, the band’s fervor while recording was only matched by the viciousness of their attack on the local thrash scene. The resulting album, Metal Ride, was unleashed onto a rowdy crowd during Rockfest 2010.

Following several blows, including the departure of two band members, Mortor have finally picked up where they left off with the most technical and powerful lineup to date.

The result of this re-emergence is the soon to be released Shoot ‘Em Up, a record that sees the band pushing the limits they set for themselves on their debut album with the introduction of blistering drum work, catchy guitar hooks and thundering bass lines on top of their punishing brand of death metal and thrash.
