VITAL REMAINS – Eastern Canadian Tour

Blacktooth Entertainment and Dungeon Works Productions along with the Heavy Metal Music Association of Canada (H.M.M.A.C.) present legendary American death metal band Vital Remains Eastern Canadian Tour.

With a new release in the works, Vital Remains returns to Canada with their 24 years of experience, high-class musicianship and a dedication towards their musical style that is hardly rivaled today and continuously slams a spiked fist into the face of every trend rearing its ugly head.

In 2007, the extreme metal titans VITAL REMAINS released “Icons Of Evil”, a vicious slab of blasphemy that sent fear in the heart of the masses. That much-anticipated album marked the group’s second recording with Glen Benton (Deicide) on vocals and was produced in the Florida based Mana Recording Studios by the renowned Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal, Goatwhore). Once again, that album was completely written by the group’s founder Tony Lazaro (rhythm guitars & bass) with Dave Suzuki handling the lead guitar, drums and backing vocal duties.

Drawing influence from classic ‘80s metal bands such as Venom, Celtic Frost, Bathory, Mercyful Fate, Sodom and Destruction, VITAL REMAINS base their survival through a DIY underground approach that has earned them a rabid legion of fans since their foundation in 1989. However, after four full-length releases the group’s biggest break came in 2003 as they signed to Century Media and released the genre-defying epic “Dechristianize”. It was hailed by critics and fans alike as one of extreme metal’s most accomplished and ambitious works yet that ever garnered mainstream acclaim. Once VITAL REMAINS prepped up for their recording sessions for “Icons Of Evil”, the question if they would be able to top “Dechristianize” circulated in the extreme music world immediately. They finally answer it with: “Hell yeah and there is not enough holy water available to wash away this unholiness!!!”.

About:

Riding out of Canada’s capital, Chariots of the Gods has one sole mission – to deliver straight up, balls-to-the-walls, in-your-face heavy metal. On the road since 2008, spreading its music to the masses, Chariots of the Gods has become known for blistering solos, gripping melodies, rioting vocals and drums that just won’t quit because, after all, that’s what it’s all about.

Having played with bands such as Misfits, Voivod, Despised Icon, Kataklysm, Blind Witness, Misery Index, Martyr, Fuck the Facts, Blackguard, Neuraxis, The Agonist, Reanimator and Insurrection and released a debut EP, Reverence, in 2010, Chariots of the Gods is now ready to unveil its latest masterpiece – Tides of War.

Produced by musical legend Glen Robinson (Queensryche, Gwar, Annihilator), the band’s debut full-length is set to storm the metal scene until there is nothing left, except Pure. Heavy. Fuckin’. Metal.

Picture a dash of Metric, a scoop of Coldplay, a layer of Paramore topped off with The Cranberries along with driving rhythms, Zeppelin worthy guitar solos, synth pop hook lines, and dynamic, soulful vocals and you get yourself Edmonton, AB’s electrifying REND. Coming off their Canadian Music Week performances in Toronto, ON this past week, the pop rockers are proud to announce the release of their new EP ‘Battlecry’ out today, March 26th.

Featuring five infectious songs with the first single and anthem title track hitting airwaves along with an action packed video to support it, Rend’s follow up to their 2012 debut album ‘No Lines’ is sure to make anthem chanters demanding more.

Founded in 2010 by lead singer/songwriter Carol-Lynne Quinn, these past 3 years have been an incredible journey for the band. 2012 was a whirlwind of activity with a recent nomination at this year’s Edmonton Music Awards for ‘Female Artist of The Year’ plus multiple performances in Toronto at classic venues like Cherry Cola’s, The Hideout, and the Bovine Sex Club for Indie Music Week Canada, and opening for Faber Drive on the Edmonton installment of the Lost in Paradise tour.

Rend’s vision is to bring musical and lyrical substance to their music. Whether it’s the anthem like chorus in “Battlecry” or the unique blend of soulful vocals and electric guitar in “Monster”, Rend is fresh, energy filled, and inspiring. Last year’s debut single “Hide” from ‘No Lines’ was released to radio in March 2012 and received Canadian wide radio play climbing the top 100 Rock Charts.

For such a fresh band they have already caught the attention and support of many. Sandra Sperounes from the Edmonton Journal commented “One of Edmonton’s newest – and fiercest – pop-rock bands. “Quinn” might just be the next great voice to come out of Canada.” Kevin Mainmann from the Edmonton Examiner commented on their debut “No Lines is drenched in powerful melodies anchored by Carol-Lynne’s vocal acrobatics, with hints of soul weaving into potent radio-rock hooks.” To put it simply Rend is four passionate people who love music, people, and putting on a great show.

Stone Iris is a brotherhood of like-minded musicians. From humble beginnings in Edmonton, Canada, their fusion of self described Southern Rock from the True North / Reggae Music from a Cold Dark Place has been blazing across Canada and the USA over the years.

With consistent touring, busking, jamming and writing, the undeniable, yet un-classifiable spectacle known as Stone Iris has been persistent in sharing their craft and passion. With a love for performing, their live show is as honest and original, as it is part of who and what they are. Driven by groove, it makes you move.

Much is in store for Stone Iris in 2013; including extensive touring, two full length albums, the first being their eighth and newest recording ‘Kicking The Can’ out today, Tuesday, March 26th.

Vocalist/Guitarist El Nivens comments:

“Kicking The Can was self recorded, produced and published right from the ground up. It’s the first album we have done in this fashion. The band is very excited to be putting something fresh and original into the chasm of indy music.”

Releasing their first single ‘I Wanna’ to radio across Canada along with local support by Edmonton’s rock authority Sonic 102.9 FM who have named the group ‘Band of The Month’ for March plus premiering their second single and first music video  ‘Taste of Fame’ on BlankTV. Stone Iris plans to hit the road for their second North American Tour since supporting last year’s award nominated EP Illuminations.

Cranked. Heavy. Melodic. These are just some of the words that have been used to describe Toronto’s BREACHED. Creating an alluring blend of melodious, metal-tinged rock ‘n roll, it didn’t take long for Breached to start winning over fans with their live shows and 2011’s five-song self titled EP. The band’s tight harmonies and nail-hitting screams combined with overdriven guitars, intricate tempos and powerful lyrics provide a unique blend that audiences can’t seem to get enough of. To satisfy that appetite Breached are proud to release their follow up acoustic EP titled ‘Revolution Sessions’ out today, Tuesday, March 26, which features five unplugged tracks, four originals along with a cover of Alice In Chains song ‘No Excuses’.

Breached vocalist Bobby Noakes comments:

“The feedback from our teasers has been amazing and we are happy to release our next EP ‘Revolution Sessions’! We want to especially thank all of our fans who pledged during our Pledge Music campaign for their added support in the making of this EP.”
