Heavy melodic rockers BREACHED are proud to announce they will be releasing their upcoming acoustic EP titled ‘Revolution Sessions’ recorded at Revolution Studios in Toronto, ON on Tuesday, March 26. The EP is a follow up / acoustic version to their 2011 self titled debut EP and features five unplugged tracks, four originals along with a cover ofAlice In Chains song ‘No Excuses’.
Breached vocalist Bobby Noakes comments:
“We are stoked to be putting out our second release, ‘Revolution Sessions’! We have all been inspired by some of the amazing “Unplugged” acoustic performances from the 90’s so this was kind of our homage to them. Almost all of our songs start out on an acoustic so it seemed so natural to do something like this. The videos we plan on releasing for each song will help show our fans another side of us they may not have otherwise gotten to know.”

About: Cranked. Heavy. Melodic. These are just some of the words that have been used to describe Toronto’s Breached.
The band’s story begins in late 2010 when four men met in an undisclosed hospital delivery room. No one will ever know what transpired that day other than that it inspired something big, something that could only be expressed through music.
Creating an alluring blend of melodious, metal-tinged rock ‘n roll, it didn’t take long for Breached to start winning over fans with their live shows and five-song EP. The band’s tight harmonies and nail-hitting screams combined with overdriven guitars, intricate tempos and powerful lyrics provide a unique blend that audiences can’t seem to get enough of.
“We feel that there is a lot of music out there that fails at one major thing – triggering emotions,” says vocalist Bobby Noakes. “We want people to connect with our music not only because it has a great sound, but because of the lyrical content and emotion we put into the songs.”
Back in the studio to record their second EP, which is scheduled for a summer release, Breached have recently put together an acoustic EP to hold their fans over till then.

Brutal Western Canadian death metallers XUL have posted the following news update on their upcoming EP to follow up their debut album‘Malignance’, which they are currently offering as a FREE DOWNLOAD here. (http://xulmetal.bandcamp.com/album/malignance) If you’re a fan of Behemoth, Dissection and Immortal this is one album not to be missed as the band forges their brand of Blackened Death Metal.
“We are happy to announce some of the details regarding our EP. First of all, It will feature a track called “Summon the Swarm”, which we have played live now for quite some time. There will also be three other tracks on the EP. Each of the songs has their own elements that make them unique and we feel it really shows the progression of our musicianship. We will be recording with Jeff Bryan once again to maintain the high quality we had on Malignance. There’s not a whole lot more I can say, but we are extremely excited to head into the studio again in such a short period of time. These are the best songs we have to date and a lot of emotion and time has been spent! We will keep you updated along the journey… until then… Pilsner and METAL! – Levi”
XUL will also be announcing the winners of their February contest for 1 of 3 stellar designed XUL shirts (pic below) that fans had the chance to win when they downloaded the band’s debut full length ‘Malignance’ for free.

About:
A five piece group based out of Vernon, British Columbia, Canada, following in the footsteps of bands such as: Behemoth, Dissection, and Immortal, XUL have left the beaten path and set out to forge their own brand of Blackened Death Metal.
An energetic and interactive live performance – with crushing rhythms seamlessly coalescing into atmospheric passages, accompanied by punishing percussion waves and subtle vocal harmonies – expands upon the previously established essence of the sub-genre. With songs reminiscent of war-torn landscapes, destructive human nature and evil intent, XUL has captivated audiences and garnered positive reviews, and on June 16, 2012, released their first full length album, entitled “Malignance”.
Driven by determination and a diverse accumulation of musical comprehension, XUL has toured Western Canada, as well as proven themselves worthy to share the stage with bands such as: Obscura, Exhumed, Vreid, Kampfar, Woods of Ypres, Macabre, Withered, Cephalic Carnage, Archspire and 3 Inches of Blood. With a spring 2013 tour looming, XUL is determined to build on an impressive local following by infecting Western Canada with hopes of Canada in its entirety in the near future. XUL’s focus for winter 2012 is to meticulously craft new material for another release in 2013.

BIO:
Founded in 2006 by drummer Joe Mullen and vocalist Tom Emmans, ODIUM was born in order to create a focused project centered on the themes of growth and attrition. After being joined by bassist Dale Burrows and guitarists Bo Louther and Andrew Fullerton, it was clear the band was quickly becoming a cohesive group of musicians that had found their strengths in each other’s abilities to contribute to the writing process.
Most convincing is ODIUM’s arsenal of musical weapons that contribute to their overall sound, which was properly harnessed by Canadian producer Greg Dawson (The End, Moneen, Choke) on both ofODIUM‘s metal opus’ underlining the quintet’s penchant for writing metal songs that are as heartfelt as they are heavy with ODIUM’s emotional hybrid of epic crescendos and fiery heaviness.
Over the years, ODIUM has opened for such well known bands as Alexisonfire, The Agonist, Beneath the Massacre, Cryptopsy, Divinity, Moneen, Fuck the Facts, Fairwell to Freeway and Arise and Ruin.
