Rend

BIO:

Rend is an Edmonton based, 5 piece, electrifying Rock/Pop band. Picture a dash of Metric, a scoop of Coldplay, a layer of Paramore topped off with The Cranberries. When you listen to Rend you get a new experience with every song. They are a Canadian band inspired to inspire. You will hear driving rhythms, Zeppelin worthy guitar solos, synth pop hook lines, and dynamic, soulful vocals. Supported by Rawlco Radio through the 10K20 project, Rend released their debut album “No Lines” on February 25th, 2012 and are set to release their follow up EP ‘Battlecry’ in March 2013.

Founded in 2010 by lead singer/songwriter Carol-Lynne Quinn, these past 2 years have been an incredible journey. 2012 was a whirlwind of activity, including a week of performances in Toronto at classic venues like Cherry Cola’s, The Hideout, and the Bovine Sex Club for Indie Music Week Canada, and opening for Faber Drive on the Edmonton installment of the Lost in Paradise
tour.

Their vision is to bring musical and lyrical substance to their music. Whether it’s the anthem like chorus in “Battlecry” or the unique blend of soulful vocals and electric guitar in “Monster”, Rend is fresh, energy filled, and inspiring. Their debut single “Hide” was released to radio in March 2012 and received Canadian wide radio play climbing the top 100 Rock Charts.

2013 will be an exciting year for Rend, with the upcoming release of a brand new music video for Battlecry, which will also be released to radio in February. For such a fresh band they have already caught the attention and support of many. Sandra Sperounes from the Edmonton Journal commented “together, the five make up (or perhaps unrend) Rend, one of Edmonton’s newest – and fiercest – pop-rock bands. “Quinn” might just be the next great voice to come out of Canada.” Kevin Mainmann from the Edmonton Examiner commented on their debut “No Lines is drenched in powerful melodies anchored by Carol-Lynne’s vocal acrobatics, with hints of soul weaving into potent radio-rock hooks.” To put it simply Rend is five passionate people who love music, people, and putting on a great show.

Irish Extreme Metallers CHOSEN Premiere New Track ‘Defective Prospection’ From Upcoming Album ‘Resolution’

Irish extreme metallers CHOSEN are premiering their latest track ‘Defective Prospection’ on MetalMusicArchives.com at the following link here . The track features guest vocals from Jackie Mc Nally and sound samples from Paul Allen and will be on the band’s upcoming debut album ‘Resolution’ set for release on March 30th as a FREE DOWNLOAD on their official website www.chosen.ie along with it being available on CD in two special editions.

Produced by Alwyn Walker, ‘Resolution’ is a reflection of sheer perseverance and innovation, brimming with top-notch musicianship, well-crafted arrangements and inventive hooks. Merged with a rich audio production value, void of the sterile, homogeneous and plastic instrumentation factor, which currently dominates the commercial metal market, this debut album from one of Ireland’s noteworthy metal bands is a truly refreshing piece of work.

Drummer / Percussionist David McCann comments:

“Our hope is to put our music out there, make it as accessible as possible, and simply let people discover it in their own time, free of charge. While we do respect the rights of other bands and artists who want to charge for their music upfront, we believe in this new method of exposure and it’s something we are willing to explore for the foreseeable future in this digital age of abundance.”

About Special Edition CDs:

The Deluxe Special Edition is a double CD that features a 9-track bonus disc of unreleased songs, rough mixes, drum and bass tracks taken from their album sessions along with a detailed album booklet.

The Collector’s Edition is a spawn of the Deluxe Special Edition that includes a beautiful 60-page, full colour soft cover booklet, extensive liner notes, lyrical themes and illustrations for each song, rare photos, studio diaries and more, all exhibited within an exquisite tapestry of expanded album artwork courtesy of Fiaz Farrelly making it a must have item for those who want something a little more tangible to add to their music collection.

CHOSEN will also be holding a competition on the album release day, where they will be giving away three copies of the Deluxe Special Edition. To enter, contestants must email their full name to competition@chosen.ie for their chance to win, with the option of having a personal message of your choice inscribed inside the booklets if they choose.

The winners will be announced the day of the album release on March 30th. The closing date for entry is March 28th.

About: Stone Iris is a brotherhood of like-minded musicians. Playing music everyday and touring are what they live and breathe for. From humble beginnings in Edmonton, Canada, their initial brand of music, a fusion of blues rock with a hint of reggae was created. From there, a common dream was followed and Stone Iris has been blazing their own trail ever since.Consistent touring, busking, jamming and writing, have allowed the undeniable, yet un-classifiable spectacle known as Stone Iris to fearlessly pursue their craft and passion. With a love for performing, their live show is as honest and original, as it is part of who and what they are. Driven by groove, it makes you move.Much is in store for Stone Iris in the coming year; including extensive touring, two full length albums and plenty of video footage, so keep your eyes and ears open!
