Featuring a combination of death and thrash metal, the Edmonton-based band are known to devastate their audiences with their high octane performances that has lead them to share the stage over the years with high profile names such as Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, The Haunted, and Aborted (to name a few). Their sophomore release ‘Infection Legacy’ is the follow up to their 2010 debut album ‘Defecation Suffocation’ and 2008 EP ‘Spontaneous Decapitation’.

Originally formed in 2003 in Stony Plain, AB, Canada, Death Toll Rising have been grinding the Western Canadian metal scene steadily, gaining huge momentum over the last 3 years. New addition Tylor Dory on guitars has introduced a technical and progressive element to the band they have not had in the past. Add in the intense and relentless drumming provided by Bryan Newbury (recently recruited by Canadian prog/death powerhouse INTO ETERNITY), as well as the well-rounded rhythm provided by Drew Copland on guitar and Mike Puff on bass, and you get a monster that is only now being unleashed upon the masses with vocalist Jesse Berube topping things off with a combination of brutal death growls and Tomas Lindberg-esqe high shrieks, which will be plenty noticeable on their upcoming album ‘Legacy Infection’.

“We’re incredibly stoked to release the first single and title track from our third official EP, ‘Left Behind’. The EP encapsulates the energy and direction we’ve been working towards perfectly. It’s a song that describes the struggles and frustration of moving forward from what you thought you needed.” comments vocalist Bobby Noakes.

The EP was recorded in between Canadian and US dates during the spring and summer months of this year while the band toured to promote their second EP ‘Revolution Sessions’, an acoustic version of their debut EP with a bonus stripped down cover of Alice In Chains ‘No Excuses’, which was also joined by a series of in-studio music videos.

Creating an alluring blend of melodious, metal-tinged rock ‘n roll, it didn’t take long for Breached to start winning over fans with their live shows and five-song self-titled EP. The band’s tight harmonies and nail-hitting screams combined with overdriven guitars, intricate tempos and powerful lyrics provide a unique blend that audiences can’t seem to get enough of.

Rocker Matt Blais Comments On Performing At Blankfest-Calgary III; Indie Week + Canadian Dates For ‘The Heartbeat Tour’

In the midst of his second cross Canada tour in promotion of his latest album ‘The Heartbeat’, Calgary, AB alternative blues/ rock musician Matt Blais comments on his upcoming November 2nd performance at this year’s third annual Blankfest Calgary a homeless benefit for the city’s shelter The Mustard Seed.

Blais comments:

“One of the greatest things about music is its ability to affect people. Most of the time that change is on a personal level. With an event like Blankfest however, all the performers have the opportunity to make a huge impact with their music. While some musicians joke that they do this “because the chicks are great”, the truth is they want their music to mean something more and make a difference. That’s the spirit of Blankfest.”

This year’s event will see nine local Calgary bands and two Red Deer bands ranging in various genres of rock n’ roll, metal and hip hop, performing between 6:30pm to 2am at Studio 37 to share their tunes, raise awareness, funds and clothing for the city’s homeless.

Blankfest Calgary is just one of many events across North America inspired by founder Kenn Rowell, who has been organizing Blankfest in New York City since 1997 and has encouraged others to hold Blankfests in various parts of the USA, Canada (Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver) and Europe to help the homeless with the support from their music communities. OUT TODAY! UNBEING (Steroid Induced Prog Metal) Release Vinyl of Self-Titled Debut Album On BLK COQ Music

L-R – Jean-Philippe Bédard – Drums | Martin Labelle – Keyboard | Sherif El-Maghraby – Guitar | Alexandre D’Amour – Bass | Anthony Grieco – Guitar

Out today! Montreal, QC’s steroid induced progressive metal band UNBEING unleash the re-release of their debut self-titled album via BLK COQ Music/Believe Digital as a limited edition vinyl and digitally on all major online retailers.

iTunes link – https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/unbeing/id718220912

Vinyl – www.UnbeingMusic.com

Originally released in 2011, the album spanning 40 minutes of instrumental offerings that screams: There is no turning back, there is no mercy, there is only Unbeing, is ready to be received again as a testimony to the group’s composing capabilities. Co-produced and remixed by Martin Albert andremastered by Ryan Morey (Arcade Fire, Priestess, Half Moon Run).

Rising out of Montreal’s bubbling metal underground, it can be said that Unbeing have been through it all. Starting out as a three-piece, members came and went, two demos were released to an overwhelmingly positive response, the band won Metal Académie 2 – a two-month-long competition where the band impressed both the audience and esteemed metal judges such as Kataklysm to take home top honors – then decided to shake things up again. Taking the judges’ advice to heart, Unbeing opted to no longer continue sacrificing their creative liberties, removing vocals all-together to finally discovered its true nature in the form of a five-piece ProgEpic InstruMetal band.

But alas, seven years after the birthing cries of Unbeing tore holes in the fabric of space and time, individually and as a whole, they have overcome hardships, laughed in the face of danger and stomped on the charred corpse of impossibility. In 2011, the band released its debut full-length album before solidifying its name in the metal community as a five-piece outfit.

TRIBUNE Comments On Performing Homeless Benefit Blankfest-Vancouver; Releasing Author Inspired Album ‘Tales’; Streaming New Track ‘From Funeral To Funeral’

Vancouver, BC based metal band TRIBUNE comments on their upcoming performance at this year’s 2nd annual homeless benefit show Blankfest-Vancouver in support of the city’s Covenant House, the non-profit shelter that helps the cities street youth from age 16-24 who have fled physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse, along with those who have been forced from their homes or those who have aged out of foster care. Last year, the full-to-capacity event raised over $1,000 and over 200 clothing items for the city’s less fortunate.

Tribune guitarist Shawn Culley comments:

“Tribune is super pumped to be playing a show that will help out the local community. We’re always down for fundraising shows and we want all our metal head friends to come out and hook up the Covenant House with some clothing, blankets or even a cash donation. Tribune is offering deals for donations, so make one and we’ll give you a sweet deal on our merch!”

This year’s event will see seven local Vancouver bands with support from bands from Kelowna and Calgary ranging in various genres of rock n’ roll, hard rock and metal, performing from 7:30pm to 2am at The Railway Club to share their tunes, raise awareness, funds and clothing for the city’s homeless.

As the event slogan goes, ‘It’s About The Homeless, Nothing More, Nothing Less.’.

Blankfest Calgary is just one of many events across North America inspired by founder Kenn Rowell, who has been organizing Blankfest in New York City since 1997 and has encouraged others to hold Blankfests in various parts of the USA, Canada (Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary) and Europe to help the homeless with the support from their music communities.

Over the past nine years, Vancouver, BC’s TRIBUNE has been progressively combining its myriad of influences into a genre-shattering whole and etching away at a sound all its own. Now, the band’s efforts have culminated in their third full-length record, Tales set for release October 29th via their indie label Corpse Corrosion Music, which is available for pre-order at the following link.

Album Pre-Order: http://tribune.bandcamp.com/

The nine-track concept album has been inspired by the writings of some of the world’s most renowned authors, including H.P. Lovecraft, H.G. Wells, Homer among many others, but the result is strictly TRIBUNE.

Exploring a more melodic and progressive sound than ever before, but still staying true to the group’s extreme aggression roots, Tales, the follow-up to 2011’s Elder Lore/The Dark Arts, demonstrates TRIBUNE’s brawn and brains with a collusion of extremity and accessibility.

As the band’s appetite for more extreme metal increased, bands like Carcass, Death and At The Gates began bleeding into their melting pot of influences, resulting in a fresh take on their fine metal sound, which can be heard echoing in the depths of TRIBUNE’s Tales.

Tribune is now streaming the first single from the album ‘From Funeral To Funeral’ at the following links:
