MIRE officially released their new album ‘Inward/Outward’ on March 18th to follow up their 2010 self titled EP. Two year’s in the making, the album is based on the band’s personal experiences ranging from the study of cognitive science to a military stint in Afghanistan. The album’s 10 tracks marry a sonic wall of loud heavy yet strong melodic progressive rock metal that is winning fans and media over with comparisons of being named heirs to the Tool and a perfect band for fans of Karnivool, A Perfect Circle, Dead Letter Circus, Deftones and ISIS(media reviews below).

Vocalist JP LaChapelle comments on the release:

“Interpreted through our fingers, tongued and toe tips, this album which we’ve been working on for 2 years at totally different points in our lives, demonstrates the fan of emotions of 5 individuals’ experience. The craft is the loom into which our soil-tending, sun-vising and pest-warding efforts bear fruit. Love for the fate of man and the anger to defend it. Overwhelmed with a sense of innate creativity, we all curb our nature to the structures put in place for our short lives; whether building an enterprise, community or institution of any kind. MIRE’s decided to make music. Filtered as pure as possible, our passion rendered this product. Our maiden album expresses the plight of an impeached animal nature, faced with the philosophy of man’s fate run through questionable funnels. Throughout our creative process, we’ve experienced different stages and shed skins. The 5 colors we shine combine through the prism of ‘Inward Outward’ to produce the first of MIRE’s own hues. Being able to walk one’s own path is its own reward and we five musicians feel incredibly fortunate to have seized the chance to create this album. That’s what we celebrate every time we hear it. SHARE”

The album is now available as PAY WHAT YOU WANT on the band’s bandcamp here and iTunes.

Music Video – ‘Limitless Pt. 2’ – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQnqLxFv5oM

mire - "limitless(pt2)" [official hd]

“…newcomers Mire should be considered the heirs to the Tool throne with their latest record, Inward Outward is about as close to Tool as you can get without being Tool. Musically and sonically, Mire are spot-on with the psychedelic metal we’ve all become so accustomed to and you’re guaranteed to zone out listening to the record.” – The Front Row Report

“With Inward:Outward, MIRE has formed a soundscape that flows between mellow moods and mental turbulence, using the whole spectrum of sound as its playground. It is emotional, striking, and addictively wonderful. You would be doing yourself a disservice not to, at the very least, download the free tracks offered by this promising young group.” – Barry Adkins – Target Audience Magazine

“If you’re a fan of Tool, Karnivool, A Perfect Circle, Dead Letter Circus, and similar sounding bands, then you should be pointing your ears towards Montreal, QC band Mire” – Bloody Disgusting

“While the world waits for the forthcoming Tool album (and we’ve been waiting a LONG time), everyone should do themselves a favor and grab a copy of Inward/Outward. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.” – Sea of Tranquility

“…a sophisticated style with fundamental guitars and classy quality vocals.” – Metal Temple

“This is an album of incredibly impressive music that is both haunting and uplifting in equal measure.  The soaring audio landscapes are multi-layered, and the experience of listening to this album is a real emotional journey.  It perfectly combines aggressive chunky guitars, melodic piano, and moments of all out angst and aggression. This is an album of hypnotizing prog-metal that just gets better with each and every listen.  If you’re a fan of progressive rock / metal, this is highly recommended! Score: 9.0 out of 10″ – All About The Rock

“Fans of bands like Tool, A Perfect Circle, Deftones and Porcupine Tree should feel right at home listening to this quintet out of Montreal QC…I think MIRE is a band to keep your eyes and ears on, and I look forward to seeing their territory grow.” – Rock Revolt Magazine

“I adore this album and have now had it on three times and heard new bits that make me go ‘Ahhh!’ in satisfaction each time. Definitely one to buy, and definitely a band to watch out for.” – Wyrd Ways Rock Show Review

“Nerds from our great neighbors from the North can rock!  Double XP is a lot more than a couple of gamers with instruments.  Their upcoming album goes to show that gamers really do have feelings, and they are not ashamed to talk about em!” Royal Flush Magazine

“Their debut album “721835” consists of a fairly ballsy bunch of well-written alternative rock ‘n’ roll songs with cheeky riffs and ambitious vocal melodies. The lyrics might very well have been inspired by nerdy things and contain plenty of references that can be cherished by fellow nerds, but at the same time they are written in a way that succeeds in communicating extremely relatable feelings and experiences.” – Rock Freaks

“All the tracks are are full of life and sincerity and every track fits perfectly on this album and holds a very high quality. The tracks are inspired by everything the band loves and considers nerdy showcasing a creative sound influenced by geeky comic books, trading cards, classic 8 bits games to today’s future 3D experiences. The musicianship is sharp and guided, vocalist Ian Nichols fits perfect to this kind of music and the whole album maintains a strong flow without having to rely strictly on hooks and choruses, and it´s one of those albums that grows on you the more you listen to it.” – Melodic.net

“They’re a quartet who embrace their nerdy credentials, and luckily for those who may be concerned also know how to knock out some chunky riffs and melody lines.” – Screamer Magazine

“I recommend checking out “721835” if you enjoy rock music, Fall Out Boy, or simply love the combination of music and gaming/comic books/trading cards/etc.” – Canadian Beats

“Remember when video games had memorable soundtracks? There’s nothing better than fighting, racing or having an adventure with a good soundtrack. Has that time disappeared? Of course not! In fact, today’s games have some of the best soundtracks out there but what happened to all the rock music in games? Why have video games been over-run by rap and pop? Well, whatever the answer may be, Ottawa’s Double Experience is here to bring it back! Falling somewhere between He Is Legend, Fall Out Boy, Queens of the Stone Age and Helmet having a illegitimate lovechild, these guys are putting the Rock back in “Rock N Roll”. Their new album, 721835, unites two of my favorite things: great rock music with a relatable message and all things nerdy. The first thing you will notice about this album when you pick it up from the shelf is the beautiful, yet nerdy, artwork accompanying it. Don’t let that plain red CD design fool you, once you pop it in… you’re in for a hell of a ride!” – New Transcendence

“Good songwriters…I think [Double Experience] are next. They’re going to do very well and I’m very excited about that.” – Jayson DeZuzio, producer (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance, Four Year Strong)

“The most genuine and down to earth band I’ve ever had to work with, load-in and sound checks were quick and easy with this bunch and they are some of the most hard working guys we as a venue have ever had the pleasure of the working with. Having traveled so far, and never played Swansea… prior to the show we were very unsure as to which way the event would turnout. But sure enough, [the band] did not disappoint. Playing to a pretty full room of Welsh fans singing and dancing along, throwing in a cover by Queen to really get them going. As a promoter and venue owner, I would recommend booking this band to anyone in the world, they definitely will not disappoint.” – William Sheldon, Promoter & Venue Owner – Static Bar, Swansea UK

“It’s rare that a band like Double Experience come along so we’re going to cherish them while they can still call themselves an ‘upcoming’ band because it won’t be long before they’re playing sold out massive shows. Great band, highly recommended.” – Andrew Dutton, Promoter – The Square, Harlow UK

Double Experience believes in cold facts.

Fact: You don’t like your time being wasted.

Fact: Double Experience are bringing the “roll” back into rock.

Fact: Double Experience have toured across Canada six times, twice in the UK, and once in the States, performing 500+ shows over 100,000 miles.

Fact: And you’ve still never even heard of them.

The band aim to change the latter by way of their forthcoming album, 721835 recorded by fellow science-fiction aficionado Al Jacob (He is Legend, A Skylit Drive) in North Carolina. A curious collection of songs that demand to be heard, the tracks are inspired by everything the band loves and considers nerdy showcasing a creative sound influenced by geeky comic books, trading cards, classic 8 bits games to today’s future 3D experiences.

But even futuristic, forward-thinking bands have a past, and Double Experience are no exception. Their debut album, One Big Quicksand, was technically their debut release – they just weren’t called Double Experience yet. The album was recorded and produced by up-and-comer Jayson DeZuzio (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance) mere weeks after the bands union on Canada Day, 2011 and released via Blue Sapphire/Universal Music Canada.

From the spring of 2012 onward. the band continued to perform headlining tours in Canada as well as the United Kingdom and the USA, garnering a devoted following through their no-frills, no prisoners, no holds-barred live show. The band has accomplished hundreds of performances, all of which were booked independent of outside forces.

And although you’ve still never heard of Double Experience, after everything you just read, you can’t wait to change that.

Fact.
