After a being on hiatus since 2008 to reform in 2013 with a renewed hunger and dedication, Montreal, QC metal-core quintet Fayne are returning to the Canadian metal scene with their third EP ‘The Queen of Kings’ due out digitally on November 20th, 2014 via Crystal Math. The EP is the follow up to their 2004 debut ‘You Took it All Away’ and 2006’s ‘Delivering The Final Blow’ that lead the band on multiple Canadian tours plus opening slots to support bands like Alexisonfire, Underoath, Hopesfall and Blessed By A Broken Heart.

Delivering a metal sound coupled with melodic, attitude-fueled breakdowns to compliment their high energy performances full of positive vibes, and ridiculously powerful guitar solos. Heavily influenced by bands such as Counterparts, Mastodon, and Periphery, ‘The Queen of Kings’ features a special guest appearance by Misery Signals vocalist Karl Schubach on their track Nomad’s Land plus was produced by guitarist Alex Gonzalez with the help from Alan Douches of West West Side Music (Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, Between the Buried and Me) for the final mastering.

Hitting the stage a few times already this year, supporting well-known bands such as Vanna and Ontario’s own Sleep When You’re Dead plus their most notable performance in 2014 was a first-ever appearance at the electronic dub-step outdoor festival, Valhalla Sound Circus. The excitement of a metal band at an electro-fest had the festival’s headlining DJ/producer P0gman injure himself during Fayne’s set. The attention has secured them a spot on the 2015 Valhalla line-up, as well as a chance to support some bigger acts. Fayne has plans to tour Eastern Canada and launching their first official music video to support ‘The Queen of Kings’. Toronto, ON alternative metal band BLIND RACE have posted a new lyric video for ‘Truth or Dare’ at the following link here. The track, which was also a Revolver Mag song of the day last week, is off their upcoming EP ‘Come And Get It’ due out on November 18, 2014. The EP was produced by Mike Langford whom has worked with upcoming and established artists such as Evans Blue, Parabelle, Charlie Hope, Rains, Hawksley Workman, Sloan, Ian Thornley (Big Wreck), Jeff Martin (Tea Party), Crash Karma, Art Of Dying, Rex Goudie, and Tupelo Honey plus was mastered by Chris Crerar at Toronto’s fame Metalwork Studios. What started as two brothers and their best friend getting together for some freestyle jams and demo recordings in 2005 soon evolved into enough written material for two EPs and the birth of a new full-blown band, Blind Race, in 2007.

Drawing inspiration from their love of fast cars and the intrigue of driving them blind, as well as modern-day racial issues and the idea that we are all the same, the award nominated (Toronto Independent Music Awards: Best Live Metal Act Nomination (2012), Best Metal Act Nomination (2010)), Blind Race arrived at a name packed with meaning to match its melting pot sound.

Putting emphasis on musical identity and creativity, the then Toronto four-piece released Seeing Red in 2008, unleashed Lost in 2012 and grew to a five piece that is now ready to unveil its third EP, Come and Get It.

Going back to raw, air thrusting, 7-string powered tracks such as “Come and Get It” and “Hypocrite” to eastern influenced charismatic progressions in “Truth or Dare” and Latin derived contrasts of “Hopeless”, this EP is just the tip of the iceberg, which is the diverse style of Blind Race. All the music in this EP was written using a very simple philosophy by guitar player Costas Kentros. Just play what you feel. “With the initial riff of each song, the gates just opened and the music flowed out and created a statement for each song. From love to hate, to truth or dare, standing your ground and those times when you just want to kill the pain with a bottle of Jack. These songs cover our most common situations and emotions.” says Kentros.
