After a busy 2014 that saw Ottawa, ON neo-rock nerds Double Experience tour across the USA, the United Kingdom (tour recap on PureGrainAudio.com here) and Canada in promotion of their debut full length ‘721835′. The restless rockers are hitting the road once again for their ‘Appear Offline’ Tour in Ontario, their first of 2015 that will kick off in Kingston on April 9th and wrap up in Toronto on March 20th.
“After almost half a year snowed in, we’re anxious to get out of the house and back on tour. There’s tons of new material that’s ready for the road-test, and our Canadian fans will be the first to hear it all.” comments vocalist Ian Nichols.
Double Experience has also began work on their still-untitled follow up plus will be releasing a new single featuring Fred Mascherino (Taking Back Sunday, Terrible Things) later this month.
About:
Over the last few years, the Ottawa, ON based rock nerds have toured across Canada six times, twice in the UK and the States, performing 500+ shows over 100,000 miles and sharing the stage with such acts as Silverstein, Hawthorne Heights, Every Time I Die, Dead and Divine, Lifestory:Monologue to name a few. Their new album ‘721835’ is a curious collection of songs that are inspired by everything the band loves and considers nerdy. Showcasing a creative sound influenced by geeky comic books, trading cards, classic 8 bits games to today’s future 3D experiences, the album follows up their 2011 EP ‘One Big Quicksand’ recorded and produced by Jayson DeZuzio (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance) that was released via Blue Sapphire/Universal Music Canada.

“Nerds from our great neighbors from the North can rock! Double XP is a lot more than a couple of gamers with instruments. Their upcoming album goes to show that gamers really do have feelings, and they are not ashamed to talk about em!” Royal Flush Magazine
“Their debut album “721835” consists of a fairly ballsy bunch of well-written alternative rock ‘n’ roll songs with cheeky riffs and ambitious vocal melodies. The lyrics might very well have been inspired by nerdy things and contain plenty of references that can be cherished by fellow nerds, but at the same time they are written in a way that succeeds in communicating extremely relatable feelings and experiences.” – Rock Freaks
“They’re a quartet who embrace their nerdy credentials, and luckily for those who may be concerned also know how to knock out some chunky riffs and melody lines.” – Screamer Magazine
“I recommend checking out “721835” if you enjoy rock music, Fall Out Boy, or simply love the combination of music and gaming/comic books/trading cards/etc.” – Canadian Beats
“Good songwriters…I think [Double Experience] are next. They’re going to do very well and I’m very excited about that.” – Jayson DeZuzio, producer (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance, Four Year Strong)
“The most genuine and down to earth band I’ve ever had to work with, load-in and sound checks were quick and easy with this bunch and they are some of the most hard working guys we as a venue have ever had the pleasure of the working with. Having traveled so far, and never played Swansea… prior to the show we were very unsure as to which way the event would turnout. But sure enough, [the band] did not disappoint. Playing to a pretty full room of Welsh fans singing and dancing along, throwing in a cover by Queen to really get them going. As a promoter and venue owner, I would recommend booking this band to anyone in the world, they definitely will not disappoint.” – William Sheldon, Promoter & Venue Owner – Static Bar, Swansea UK
“It’s rare that a band like Double Experience come along so we’re going to cherish them while they can still call themselves an ‘upcoming’ band because it won’t be long before they’re playing sold out massive shows. Great band, highly recommended.” – Andrew Dutton, Promoter – The Square, Harlow UK

B.C. based thrash and groove metal band, MERIDIUS (named after Russell Crowe’s character in Gladiator) bring forth their auditory assault with the release of their first single‘Speed Kills’ from their upcoming self titled debut EP due out March 20th and available for pre-order on Bandcamp.
“We’re excited to release our first single, we hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it. Mosh to it. Drink to it. Love it.” comments bassist Peter Riemann.
This raw, heavy thrash, melodic, groovy five piece are continuously writing material and staying true to the metal forefathers. With past members hailing from bands full of speed (Howler), progressive (Equestrian Lord), and power metal bands, Meridius’ metal embodies the intensity of aggression and pure mayhem both on stage and in studio. Vocalist Eric Willmont constructs intense imagery through his lyrics covering dark topics (death, torture, war, and violence) all the while fitting in appropriate dash of macabre humour. Through a collaborative writing process, Meridius construct song after song with their sights set on a full length album and tour across Canada to follow their soon to be released debut EP.
