EP Teaser Stream – Listen here.

Montreal’s VANTABLACK WARSHIP is a devastating maelstrom of dark, slow-churning metal, ready to devastate all in its path. Many of the members are veterans of the Quebec metal scene coming from well known and respected punk, death and thrash bands such as Arseniq33, Ghoulunatics, and Les Ekorchés among many others.

The oncoming onslaught of metal that is VANTABLACK WARSHIP has been fine tuning its craft to set sail with their debut self-titled EP set to be unleashed on October 9th, 2015 through Bandcamp and iTunes. But before its release, the five-piece juggernaut has teamed up withMetalUniverse.net for the exclusive premiere of their first single ‘The Pit’, which can be heard at the following link: http://www.metaluniverse.net/nouvelles.php?id_nouvelle=24887

Like the slow churn of a mechanical wheel grinding metal, the warship produces a punishing onslaught of sound from start to finish. Lyrically, the dreadnought writing forces are their bassist and vocalist, who focus on themes surrounding current events, horror, and politics – sometimes all rolled into one song.

VANTABLACK WARSHIP’s crew is comprised of Yannick (Pil) Pilon (Arseniq33, Buffalo Theory MTL) at the helm on vocals, Pat Gordon (Ghoulunatics, Les Ekorchés, Leprocy, Buffalo Theory Mtl) on guitar, Pierre Pitre (Arseniq33, Foreshadow) manning the drums, Thierry Hivon (Brutal Chérie, Sarkasm) rigging the guitar,  and Kurt Clifford (Foreshadow) anchoring the bass .

Bonfire creates dark, honest music painted through sorrowful lyrics and a haunting guitar tone. The four piece hails from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and features members of Hhogwash and other local bands from the hardcore scene.

Lyrically Greg Demers (guitar/vocals) draws from family issues, relationships, and in general low points in life to compose an image for listeners. Thomas Gelley (Bass) and James Wojak (guitar) generate the resonating instrumentals while Kurt Wolfe (drums) drives the songs forward.

Despite the emotional lyrics and dreary instrumentals their passion and energy on stage is explosive, yet sombre. Bonfire started in 2012 and since then has released Adderall (demo) and a split with Newborn last year.

The band is releasing ‘Mom’s Garden’ Fri., Oct. 2, along with a fall tour across Eastern Canada.

HAIDUK (One Man Thrashing Black Death Project) Unleashes New Concept Album ‘Demonicon’ (9 Songs, 9 Demons)

HAIDUK, the Calgary, AB one man thrashing black and death metal project fronted by Luka Milojica is proud to officially unleash as of September 9th his latest concept album ‘Demonicon’ where each song pertains to the nine demons on the releases front cover.

“It’s a crusher! This album has some of my best riffs. I don’t waste my time, I don’t waste your time. This is true Haiduk the way it was meant to be: cold, evil, blasting arrangements featuring some unique guitar work. 9 songs, 9 demons, risen from the volcanic underworld of Octavia in the realm of Callost – a fantasy world setting, which serves as the basis for the map, lyrics, and short stories contained in the CD booklet.” comments  Luka Milojica.

Three years in the making, ‘Demonicon’ follow 2012’s break through debut full length ‘Spellbook’ and once again is completely written and produced by Luka Milojica along with mastering by Robert Kukla (Arbitrator) plus album artwork done by Gragoth of Luciferium War Graphics.

About:

Haiduk is the death metal solo-project by guitarist Luka Milojica. Emerging from the cold forests of Canada, the project arose with the release of the raw, bone-chilling 8-song demo “Plagueswept” (2010).

Aggressive and dark, the sound of Haiduk is a direct channeling of haunting ideas from composer to listener, as the conceptualization, writing, and execution of the music is a solitary process. Free from outside influence, the songs pull the listener toward themes of power, evil, magic and myth.

Forging ahead in solitude, Haiduk unleashed the full-length debut “Spellbook” (2012); a black-magic conjuring of fast guitars and powerful riff attacks summoning an atmosphere of true darkness.

Invoking spells of demonic strength, Haiduk raised forces from the infernal depths, sealing arcane knowledge and ancient power into the “Demonicon” (2015); a blackened tome of blasting distortion.

“Best Unsigned Artist” HeavyMetal.About.com (April 2013)

“Thrashing fusion of black and death metal lit up like fireworks by ravaging, swarming riffs” – No Clean Singing

“Tight, aggressive, energetic” – Metal Crypt

“Mix of technical thrash-death, aggressive and precise speed-riffs, blastbeats and a devilish growl” – Stalker.cd

“A groovy and unrelenting beast of a record” – Beatroute

“the whole thing sounding big, full, and ominous, the riffs just crashing out of the realm of indie and into the big leagues, all modern Testament by way of Vader, filtered through black influences.” – Bravewords

“All right, a full-length debut of fist-pumping Black/Death Metal from this one-man Canadian band. I really liked this guy’s demo Plagueswept, so I am pleased to get a chance to hear this. Once again this works a rather unique style, mixing Death aggression and Blackened atmosphere to chugging Trad Metal riffing and headbanging rhythms. Once again I enjoy the clean-limbed, aggressive, and agile guitarwork, combining spiraling tremolo scaling with sharp rhythm work and a sense of speed as a tool, rather than an end of itself. The vocals are a deathlike bark, and the whole thing sounds sometimes like a blackened version of Krisiun. Tight, aggressive, energetic, and fresh-sounding, Haiduk deserve more attention than they get.” – Metal Crypt

“I love ‘Stormcall’, a fiery explosive piece of metal that seems to melt your mind with its brute force, not to mention the nasty Black Metal inspired ‘Black Winds’ that is on the verge of loosening chaos and yet never loses its melodies that seem to let the song live and breath.” – Metal Bite

“Tracks like “Black Wind”, “Forcefield”, and “Fire Wield” are heavy and punishing, engaging me from the first note to the last. And did I mention riffs? This is an incredibly riff-driven album…” – Absolute Hell

“the whole album is full of intricate breaks and intense riff work. Haiduk walks the fuzzy line between black and death metal in a way that really plays up the best of both worlds. Songs like “Forcefield” really play on these dissonant riffs that bounce back and forth as if to trick you into headbanging like a demented puppet suffering an epileptic seizure…I’m really quite impressed. This is a very solid record that I have already recommended to half a dozen friends. I can’t wait to see what Haiduk puts out next. ” Metal Wani

About:

Zombie hunters by day and sweaty dance punkers by night, Kill Matilda is a sexy band of nomads that have played over 181 shows coast to coast across Canada since 2008. This fall, the Vancouver three-piece finally takes its energetic act to the USA for an awesome six-month tour of zombie-slaying madness. Frontperson Dusty Exner has been called “Joan Jett on steroids” vocally and the band has been compared to everything from “riotgrrl” to “a mix of Die Mannequin, Concrete Blonde, Switchblade Symphony and Danko Jones.”

Kill Matilda has been featured at festivals such as NXNE, Hamilton Spring Music Festival, Soreal Fest, Grindyourmind Drummondville Metal Fest, and many more. The band has opened for such legends as the Vibrators, Guttermouth, the Brains, Die Mannequin, Econoline Crush and Powerman 5000. Their relentless DIY work ethic has seen the band call Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto home over the last four years and has won them the attention of industry giants such as GGGarth Richardson, Ben Kaplan & Scott Ternan, who recorded & mixed 6 songs with the band at Fader Mountain Studios in Vancouver, BC.

“Kill Matilda may be the best punk band you haven’t heard of. Based out of Canada and solely a DIY band, it’s very possible this female-fronted fist full of punk fury has flown under your radar. Not anymore, though. Their latest release, the#Punk#Zombie#RocknRoll EP is a throwback to the classic punk movement with a little bit of horror rock mixed in, serving as an impressive tribute to The Misfits (not that new “Misfits” crap- the real Misfits).” – The Front Row Report

“Opening up with Pomegranate and through to I Want Revenge hints of The Misfits and The Cramps instantly emerge from this vigorous group. Zombie Apocalypse and Law Abiding Citizen continue the mayhem through to the penultimate track PBJ which typifies your current day zombie. What really caught my attention was the final track Geisha With A Switchblade, this is a powerful depictive of the ultimate in revenge to a bad guy whilst enjoying every last detail. Check below the new video for Law Abiding Citizen and enjoy, if you’re nearby any venues these guys are tearing then get yourself down for a set of carnage!” All About The Rock UK

“I can’t say enough good things about this 6 track EP from KILL MATILDA. This is one of those gems that you’ll be happy you found early enough before their RISE amongst the LIVING! Check em out” – Heavy Metal ICU

“this is a fresh and exciting burst of musical energy that looks forward to the future rather than to late-90s nonsense. From the start, I loved the power of Dusty Exner’s voice. She can scream with the best of them, but—lucky for us—can also carry a tune.” – Sea of Tranquility

“A six track extended player crashed landed in my inbox like a bull in a china shop thanks to a Punk Rock outfit called Kill Matilda… The title of this E.P. is “#Punk#Zombie#RocknRoll” and it takes no prisoners!” – Rockulus Maximus

“if there’s one thing thing guaranteed to wake the slumbering beast from the annual hibernation it’s some gravelly voiced and quite frankly excellent punk. If you like Hole, The Misfits or The Offspring (and Yeah, Yeah Yeahs,) and let’s face it who doesn’t, then these guys are right up your alley…down and dirty punk with sexy riffs and a promise of blood, fists and stomping buy this on March 4th. You won’t regret it.” – Wyrd Ways Show Review

“The EP is packed full of high energy, powerful tracks. I personally find that the band makes you feel like you are at their show, rocking out with them. It’s a mix of songs that gives you chills and makes you feel empowered by just listening.” – Canadian Beats
