Winnipeg, MB, tech death metal architects INVERTED SERENITY have posted a new lyric video ‘Wrought (Rot)’ in support of their new album ‘Integral’ released last month on October 9th.

The band comments on the track:

“Wrought is a full speed track joining the noticeable aspects of tech-death, thrash, and black metal into a catchy and emotional fusion of music. The odd time signatures among certain parts of the song are able to remain at a patterning that does not sway away from an enjoyable flow. The chorus involves a chant back and forth between the screams of Tomas and Marco that is certainly one of our most impressive and brutal chorus structured vocal phrasings. The ending of the song drifts into a guitar interlude written and performed by Marco. The idea in the lyrics of this song is that the process of creation is also a direct means of destruction. Wrought is to self-create, as (rot) is to self-decimate. As we enter life in the physical world, we grow and create with one another and it can be a viciously difficult experience. Through the evolution of seeing the larger cycles and patterns in life, returning to the stillness of the omnipresent universal mind (death) from which we came (birth) is accepted as an inescapable truth. “

About:

INVERTED SERENITY unleashed their latest creation ‘Integral’ on October 9th to follow up to their 2013 debut album ‘Manifestation of Eternity in a World of Time”. ‘Integral’ is a gateway into the infinite fractal nature of the minds of Drew (Parasitism) on guitar, backing vocals, Ben (Moira) on drums, backing vocals, Tom on bass, lead vocals, and Marco on guitar. Topics are inspired from works of many psychonaughts akin to Carl Jung, involving transcendental, philosophies, global tribe mentality, the impermanence of the physical world, and alchemy. Their riffs range from atmospheric black-metal grooves, old-school inspired death metal passages, thrash riffs, progressive technical journeys, and everything in between for an extremely energetic onslaught of sounds.

“Moving Monoliths” is a crushing feat that has been labored over for quite some time. By digging deeply inward, the songwriting core of this band has dredged the mournful depths of the self to unveil a unique glimpse into the human condition, for all its faults, heartbreak and despair. The results are impressive as Wilt skillfully unveils a wide range of emotion and atmosphere on these 4 lengthy tracks to effortlessly entwine the creative forces of black and doom metal to call their own. A fierce live entity in their own right, Wilt has broken the “studio project” mold to bring this quintet’s jarring sound and fire to the masses as they are soon to embark on a Canadian Tour. Moving Monoliths is a fantastic debut full-length and we at Bindrune are proud to share this crushing entity with you all.
About:
Wilt was formed by Brett Goodchild and Jordan Dorge in 2010 with the original intention of creating a black metal studio project.  After the reception of the Self Titled debut in Oct 2012 surpassed all expectations, and gained some serious international attention, the duo decided to make Wilt a full time project and assemble a live lineup.  Wilt has done a bunch of Canadian tours, played many festivals such as Noctis Metalfest 666 where they shared the stage alongside blasphemy, carcass, bolzer, candlemass, possessed to name a few.  In 2014 wilt decided to break the mold of the 2 piece studio/live lineup band and continue as a full band where all 5 members involved will contribute to the sophomore effort.  Early 2015 Wilt signed with Bindrune recordings and will be releasing the bands sophomore effort ‘Moving Monoliths’ in Sept/Oct.  Taking their unique brand of cold atmospheric black metal into new progressive and even unexpected domains. “Moving Monoliths” was once again self produced by Goodchild himself in Saxon Sound Studios, and the beautiful gatefold cover art was done by renowned artist Nick Keller.
