Canadian grindcore legends FUCK THE FACTS have been nominated for a JUNO Award (Canadian version of a Grammy) for Heavy Metal Album of The Year for their August 2015 full length ‘Desire Will Rot’ released via their indie label Noise Salvation.

About the album:
‘Desire Will Rot’ was recorded and mixed by FTF guitarist Topon Das at his Apartment 2 studio in Ottawa, ON and features eleven aggressive tracks of the band’s metal mastery to follow their recent split EP with Fistfuck along with 2014’s ‘Abandoned’ and 2013’s ‘Amer’ EPs plus it being their first full length since 2011’s ‘Die Miserable’.

About FTF:
Started as a recording project in the late 90’s, it wasn’t until 2001 that the work ethic that produced a slew of underground releases drove Fuck The Facts towards full band status and into the live arena. Since then, the Ottawa-based unit has barely stopped for a breath of reconsideration, associating themselves with some of the biggest labels in underground extreme music, as well as continuing a steady output of DIY releases. Having toured hundreds of thousands of kilometers throughout North America and Europe, guitarist/founder Topon Das, vocalist Mel Mongeon, drummer Mathieu Vilandré, bassist/vocalist Marc Bourgon, and guitarist Johnny Ibay have performed at some of the biggest festivals and sweated it out in some of the smallest basements. From 2006-2011 Fuck The Facts released three albums via underground powerhouse label, Relapse Records. Upon the completion of their contract, the quintet decided it was time to put the finishing touches on the proverbial full-circle, returning to the world of fierce independence and creative control. Their most recent releases were produced entirely at their own studio, self-released, and shows Fuck The Facts efforts as an entity continuing to grow musically and personally while developing a deeper understanding of what significance their art holds to them. As one of the longest running and most recognizable names in Canadian Grindcore, FUCK THE FACTS continue to deliver their brand of “Bastardized Grindcore” with no end in sight.

Montreal, QC’s DEMISE OF THE CROWN have teamed up with Revolver Magfor the video premiere for their first single ‘We Are Invincible’ from theirupcoming debut self titled album produced by Kevin Jardine (Uplift Studios, guitarist of Slaves On Dope) and mastered by Joao Carvalho (Protest The Hero, Alexisonfire, Rush). The album is due out on March 4th (pre-order here) and features this Canadian power metal band’s strong melodic death metal and hard rock influences fused with epic choruses, classic high ranged vocals plus explosive guitar solos that are reminiscent of Eddie Van Halen with undertones of Yngwie Malmsteen sure to leave fans humming.

About:
Brandish your weapons and bare your teeth in the battle for new world order with Montreal’s power metal quintet, Demise Of The Crown. They run the gambit from melodic power metal to hard rock weaved together with soaring solos reminiscent of Eddie Van Halen with undertones of Yngwie Malmsteen. The band’s sound has developed from progressive to a heavy metal band that has a pop format structure to the music in order to lure people into the realm of metal. Through many years of playing music with different people in the Montreal scene and slowly forming the official line up in 2014. Each member have spent their time paying dues in the local community and have banded together with the same goal and vision for a band determined to shake the foundation of power metal.
Guitarist, Manuel Iradian writes all the music, then handed off to Kevin “Kevy Metal” (drummer) to dress up each song with his high-speed, galloping rhythms, finally, Darren Beadman crafts the anthemic lyrics rousing crowds to chant along with an anarchistic frenzy. Each song is rooted in all basic human emotions; anger, lust, depression, happiness, death and revenge.

BRUTAL BATTLE CUBA is proud to announce submissions are now open for independent Canadian metal bands in Oshawa, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec, Fredericton and Moncton to submit to this year’s first ever competition. One group will win a performing slot on this year’s 2016 BRUTAL SUMMER FEST TOURline up where they will be playing in front hundreds of Cuban metalheads each night from Aug 18-28.
Quebec’s Chariots of The Gods alongside touring front man Chase Wilson from Ontario’s Darkness in Aurora were the first Canadian metal band ever to join the fest in 2014.
“We have been working on this project for a while and we are really excited that it is finally happening! It’s a great opportunity for bands to experience touring outside of Canada and getting the chance to share the stage with international bands. Chase Wilson and I were part of the first Canadian metal band to tour Cuba in 2014. What is BRUTAL SUMMER FEST TOUR?
It’s a seven date tour with five to seven international bands, ten crew members, two bus drivers and one big bus on the road for two weeks across Cuba.
The selected Canadian band will share the stage with five or six other talented international bands every night and will be on the road during the day visiting every aspect of the Cuban culture.

About Striker:
STRIKER formed in Edmonton, Canada in 2007 and they were signed to German label Iron Kodex off the strength of their first demo. They made two albums with the label and recorded 2nd album Armed To The Teeth with acclaimed producer Michael Wagener (Ozzy, Skid Row, Metallica). They played shows with Metallica in Canada and hit the road for what eventually became a full world tour with shows across Europe and Japan. It is obvious, to me at least, that the Housemans have understood the nature of the epic. They know how to make the big sound, how to let variation of tempo and solid heaviness build the majesty in music only classical and metal music are capable of. They intertwine Middle Eastern sounds with blackened death metal, and there are certainly killer grooves in this.

Whereas their first effort (“Hideous Appetites”) had a touch of thrash in it, this second release is more down the Mastodon/Baroness path and a touch more musical in terms of being busy on the fretboard. Vocally there are some nice melodies and ‘Lockstep’ but more so ‘Black Brubeck’ highlights this, along with the obvious thoughtfulness behind the varied arrangements.
